BMW X5 clone from China - Shuanghuan Sceo. IF Concept

Over the past few years, "riveted" a huge number of clones famous models cars, thus trying to increase the popularity Chinese car prom. Among huge variety Chinese models the most prominent are explicit copies of popular cars around the world. We offer a selection of comparisons of the most obvious violators of copyright law that we found in the Chinese car market.

Zotye T700 and Porsche Macan

This Chinese SUV is a clone of the popular all over the world. Pay attention to their vernal similarity. And how is it inside? After all, usually the Chinese do not bother copying interiors. In this model, even interior elements are cloned.

Why Porsche company takes no action? After all, we have a clear clone, which was created with copyright infringement? The thing is that there are no copyright laws in China.

Otherwise, the world could not only buy cheap copies of cars, but would also be deprived of cheap Adidas sneakers, fake "" and other copied goods.

Zotye 2008 and Daihatsu Terios

Zotye likes to clone not only expensive ones. In their lineup there are also cheaper analogues of well-known models. For example, here is a 2008 Zotye clone that was copied from a Daihatsu Terios SUV.

Zotye E200 and Smart ForTwo

At the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, Zotye introduced electric model E200, which is clearly a copy of cars. It is unlikely, of course, that the Zotye E200 will be able to compete with the original Smart in various technical specifications. But if we compare the appearance of models, then we must admit that Chinese auto designers are the best in the world to learn how to copy the exterior of cars.

Zotye Z700 and Volkswagen Passat

Another truly unique model in the Zotye line. We are talking about the Z700, which clearly looks like a . True, the interior of the Zotye Z700 looks more like a premium Audi A6. The Chinese Passat is equipped with 1.8 and 2.0-liter turbo engines.

Zotye Z600 and Audi Q5

Zotye's design team probably copied the most in the automotive world. Here is an example of cloning for the Chinese legendary market.

Dongfeng Number 1 and Volkswagen Passat

Here is another clone of VW Passat. True, this is a product of another Chinese automobile company. Surprisingly, the Chinese even copy everything from each other (that's where there are 1.5 billion of them.)

This clone german sedan was presented for the first time in 2015. The car is based on the PSA (Peugeot / Citroen) platform.

Henbao D80 and Mercedes C-class

The owners of Shenbao, Beijing Auto bought the rights to the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 back in 2009. As a result, we recently saw a clone based on old Saab Mercedes C-class. True, inside a copy of the C-class is more like a Tesla.

Beijing B40 and Jeep Wrangler

This Beijing SUV looks quite good. There are rumors that mechanical part of this Chinese SUV is copied from the first generation (Willys).

Brilliance V3 and BMW i3

This copy implicitly indicates similarity. But if you look closely, then, of course, you will find many similarities with the model. But unlike the i3 electric car, the Brilliance V3 is actually a crossover.

Landwind X7 and Range Rover Evoque

SUV Range Rover Evoque is a huge success all over the world. Company Land Rover each year reports sales records for this compact SUV.

Decided to use this Landwind company, releasing an exact copy, which costs 2.5 times less than the original.

Shuanghuan Auto CEO and BMW X5 (E53)

Shuanghuan Auto CEO, released in 2007, is still considered the most brazen copy in the global car market in the history of the automotive industry.

Recall that in that year, Shuanghuan Auto introduced a brazen copy.

CH Auto Lithia and Audi R8

SUVs and sedans are China's most popular cars. But there is also a demand for supercars. Especially their clones. Otherwise, many automotive companies China would not produce their own sports cars. For example, here is the CH Auto Lithia model, which clearly mimics the .

Shuanghuan Auto Noble and Smart

Another clone of Smart. This copy is based on the Suzuki Alto.

BYD S8 and Mercedes CLK

Owning a Mercedes car in China is prestigious. But very expensive, because of the world's largest import customs duties. So only very rich people can buy a Mercedes. But there is an alternative in the Chinese market. For example, you can buy BYD S8 which is a replica Mercedes CLK. Yes, of course, you will not receive the premium that is usually given to their owners Mercedes cars, but you'll still save money anyway, as the BYD S8 is three times cheaper.

Great Wall Peri and Nissan Note

Great Wall Peri is like two cars at the same time. For example, one part of a clone is like Fiat Panda, and the other on the Nissan Note.

Brilliance V5 and BMW X1

If you can't do better then best alternative, is to copy something. Even great artists painted copies of famous masterpieces. Apparently, Chinese car companies are going down this path.

For example, here is another copy of . We are talking about the Brilliance V5 model, which, although implicitly similar, is nevertheless visible to the naked eye.

BYD S7 and Lexus RX

Another example of outright theft. It's about a crossover that was copied Chinese company BYD, which released a clone of S7.

Lifan Motors 320 and Mini Countryman

Lifan Motors 320 is the most unusual BMW-Mini clone.

Great Wall Olay and Renault Twizzy

More than a billion people who live in China every year are more and more willing to buy new cars. This is due to the growing prosperity of the Chinese population. In the end everything more people can afford to buy a car.

Naturally, the greatest demand for cars is observed in large cities. That's why most in demand in China today, small city cars are used for comfortable movement in the city. That is why many Chinese car companies produce a wide variety of small cars, many of which are clones of well-known models. For example, in front of you is the Great Wall Olay, which is copied from the Renault Twizzy.

Beijing Auto Shenbao D320 and Mercedes E-Class

This car, although not clearly similar to the E-class, nevertheless, it will not be possible to deny the similarity.

Dongfeng EQ2050 and Hummer

Perhaps Dongfeng EQ2050 is not even a clone, but a continuation Hummer stories, which ceased to produce legendary SUVs.

Awtai and Porsche Cayenne

This SUV is similar to the Turbo S. There is also a hint of the Mercedes ML63 AMG in the design of the Awtai and even a little Range Rover, as well as the VW Touareg.

Lifan Motors 330 and Fiat 500L

It seems that Lifan aims to fill his the lineup cars completely similar to European counterparts.

Beijing Auto E-series Hath and Mercedes B-class

You don't have to look far to understand what the Beijing Auto E-series Hath is like.

Geely GE and Rolls-Royce Phantom

Geely GE looks like it was helped by the company's designers, but the translator who translated the instructions for Chinese engineers made a mistake in translating the terms in the design.

The Chinese crossovers of the novelty of 2017-2018 were replenished with the new Dongfeng X5 SUV, and in our review of the photo, price and equipment, the technical characteristics of the Dong Feng X5. Official premiere stylish car took place as part of the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2016 under the hard-to-pronounce name Dongfeng Fengxing Jingyi X5. Sales of the new Chinese car DFM X5 in the Chinese market will start on December 17, 2016 at price 90-120 thousand yuan (835-1150 thousand rubles) for cars with petrol 1.6 (122 hp) and 2.0 (147 hp) engines, front wheel drive and very rich equipment.

For marketers Dongfeng company Motor seems to really like the combination of the number 5 and the letter X in the model name. It is simply impossible to explain in another way the presence in the model line of the Chinese manufacturer of so many cars where these letters are found: Dongfeng Fengxing Joyear X5, also known as Dongfeng Jingyi X5, and in addition new Dongfeng Fengxing Jingyi X5.

How can one not get confused in such a variety of manufactured models is most likely clear only to Chinese manufacturers and motorists. Model line Dongfeng Motor, which includes the brands Dongfeng, Dongfeng Fengxing, Dongfeng Fengshen and Venucia, has about 50!!! cars, many of which are practically twin brothers, and in extreme cases, co-platformers.

This is the case with the new Dongfeng X5 SUV, which is the closest relative Dongfeng crossovers MX5 and Dongfeng AX5. Interestingly, at the same time, the appearance of the new Chinese SUV DongFeng X5 is very similar to the exterior design of the body ... no, of course, we are not talking about frank copying, rather imitation of the image of the German model.

Headlight rectangles with dotted LED daytime running lights available running lights along the lower edge, a compact false radiator grille, a bumper with pronounced air ducts, a characteristic rib that prescribes the sidewalls of the body at the level door handles, similar to the German design of marker lights and rear bumper.

The interior is made of budget, but high-quality materials (soft plastic with a pleasant texture, artificial leather) with stylish decorative wood and aluminum inserts.

Equipping with modern equipment of the new Chinese SUV is traditionally rich for a car from China: multifunctional steering wheel, instrument panel with a large screen on-board computer, advanced multimedia system with an 8-inch touch screen (music, phone, navigation, rear view camera), climate control, front and rear seats, electric driver and passenger seats, electric hand brake, system keyless entry and engine start button, electric sunroof, parking sensors, LED DRLs and rear marker lights and other nice little things. Modern China is an amazing country. Only they produce clones for every global brand.

The Chinese did not miss automotive market. Under the guise of their own developments, they exactly copy the design of world manufacturers, and sometimes they make an analogue, however, with their own name.

Consider well-known fakes among popular European and Japanese brands.

Analog BMW x5

China produces a variety of cars. There are different models to choose from - both in quality and in appearance. But all of them are united by one property - a relatively low price.

An example is a car with the incomprehensible name Shuanghuan Sceo. Behind these words is not just hidden new idea Chinese engineers and real copy BMW x5 in the back of e53.

The first model left the assembly line in 2006 and continues to be produced today. During this period, the Chinese copy seriously ruffled the nerves of the proud Bavarians. BMW has repeatedly tried to ban such cloning of their car, but failed. The result is the status of an illegal copy.

An interesting fact: the Chinese wanted to sell their car in Germany through the company China Automobile Deutschland GmbH, which greatly angered the Bavarians. Since that time, Shuanghuan Sceo's route to this country has been blocked.

Chinese car has ambiguous body dimensions. The developers did not make a 100% copy, but introduced "their" ideas. The photo shows non-classical side lines, like the x5, the rear geometry has only a common spoiler.

Connoisseurs with a trained eye will recognize the familiar Mercedes ML hood design. Icon Chinese clone somewhat reminiscent of the manufacturer SsangYong.

The front optics are completely generated by the minds of Shuanghuan Sceo designers. It is difficult to say that it is copied from another brand, but you will not find an outstanding style in it either. The front grille is also completely custom. In this situation, the Chinese acted wisely in their own way - repeating the legendary headlights and grille BMW car x5, they would have buried their model alive in a few hundred copies.

The rear optics were clearly copied from the original. On closer examination, even outright plagiarism in detail did not make the car at least something remarkable. This factor is the reason for the defeat of this brand in many countries.

In the early stages, the Chinese Shuanghuan Sceo offered the following powertrains to choose from:

  1. Base gasoline engine, with a volume of 2.4 liters. But even with such an indicator, he gave out, in best case, total 110 Horse power.
  2. "Charged" version of the engine of the same volume. In this version, 230 horses were available to the owner in engine compartment. But these numbers are only marketing ploy. IN real life to force this motor to show all the agility is almost impossible. In terms of the nuances of operation, it was even worse - cars broke down for no apparent reason.
  3. Diesel unit, volume 2.8 liters. Power - 115 horsepower. This is far from the power mechanism to which we are accustomed. There was no talk of any pickups from below and traction. The plentiful appetite of this motor in terms of consumption erased any traces of joy on the faces of the owners.

All engines were made in China. But they were not the development of Chinese specialists - this is a license from Japanese engineers. They are not made in the best way. Today, there is only one Chinese BMW engine - gasoline, 125-horsepower with a volume of 2.4 liters. Has anything changed from previous years? Nothing.

Shuanghuan Sceo is an ordinary frame car, with a stretch called an SUV. It has a classic 5 - speed manual transmission. Available in this version only.

All configurations are equipped with a plug-in all-wheel drive. The front suspension is independent, with double wishbones. Rear - bridge, spring.

Features and price

The choice of the buyer is provided with several options for complete sets. The top one has the following features:

  • climate control;
  • airbags;
  • electric seat and others.

It cannot be said that today it is possible to surprise the driver with the listed systems. Most of them have become commonplace, without which a car cannot be imagined.

The interior of the Chinese x5 is one big problem. No, there is nothing falling off. The strange thing is that he suspiciously catches the eye, and not from the best side. The steering wheel has an unusual shape and size, the seats are noticeably uncomfortable. Many moments in the interior seem corny outdated. We can say that inside, a kind of "Chinese" chaos. The designers, if they were engaged in layout, did not properly understand the process.

Since the Chinese car has not gained popularity in Russia, price policy happy vague and starts at $ 30,000 for a new car. Used copies can be purchased at times cheaper.

Comparison with the original

Shuanghuan Sceo outwardly looks rather ambiguous. The dimensions of the car from some angles look awkward, and the view of the front end is understandable only to the Chinese. The shape and design are reminiscent of the e53 body, but they are far from the Bavarian harmonious appearance.

BMW's basic configuration the volume is 3 liters, with a power of 231 hp. In a Chinese clone, the engine at 2.4 liters produces only 110. There can be no talk of any dynamism.

The German original is distinguished by comfortable and confident handling. Shuanghuan Sceo is not able to boast of such indicators.

The audio system of the Chinese car is rather mediocre. It makes no sense to compare it with BMW. Although unpretentious to the music of the owners, it will satisfy.

Analog BMW x6

At one time, a major Chinese manufacturer Great Wall Motors was absolutely not embarrassed by the fact that their creation - IF Concept, strongly resembles the BMW x6. This is another example of brazen copying legendary brands. But this car remained a concept.

The Chinese auto industry does not stand still, and recently showed the light of a new x6 clone - Bisu T7.

Design and Specifications

It makes no sense to say specific things about this car - just look at the original. The Chinese clone surprisingly accurately adopted the features of the x6 model, albeit with its own “solutions”.

Dimensions are slightly different from BMW. Wheelbase longer, but the width of the machine is less.

The engine is supplied as follows:

  • volume 2 liters, with a turbine;
  • 197 HP

Diesel models in the Chinese car were not presented.

The gearshift mechanism is equipped automatic transmission 8 speed or 6 speed manual transmission. This is an unusual move for Chinese car industry.

In addition to everything, there is a plug-in all-wheel drive.

Features and price

The front of the car shows its personality. The designers made their own version of the optics and grille. But common features reminiscent of the famous x6.

The rear lights are equipped with LEDs. They also don't have general design with the original. But the lines and the "cut" roof give out a source of inspiration for Chinese craftsmen.

Interior, by the standards today, quite technologically advanced:

  • complete media system;
  • 12 inch display;
  • electronic instrument panel;
  • automatically adjustable seats with ventilation and other technologies.

The price of the model in the basic configuration is $ 20,000.

Comparison with the original

No matter how much the Chinese designers would like to make the car unique, obvious copying is noticeable. Externally, the car looks a little strange - the designers got the effect of futurism, although not entirely clear.

Chinese cars in principle have a strange appearance. In order to disguise copying at least a little, the designers change the dimensions, which is why the car takes on an unusual look.

The engines are far behind the Bavarian model. BMW kicks off the power mark with 306bhp. In their arsenal, the Germans have diesel units that the Chinese clone does not have.

When comparing the two cars, the difference in interior quality is obvious. Bisu T7, although equipped modern salon, it does not have such an approach to trifles and ergonomics.

Analog Infiniti

luxury Japanese manufacturer Infiniti could not stay away from the attention of the Chinese auto industry. A small company Yema has released its version of the original EX-series - Yema E-Series.

Design and Specifications

Comparing the design of a clone does not make sense. It exactly repeats the appearance of Infiniti. And if in previous models there was at least some hint of individuality, the E-Series completely repeated the look of the original. The only difference is the manufacturer's emblem.

The Chinese car is also not filled with technical indicators. The power unit is represented by the old Toyota engine, with a volume of 1.5 liters. The indicators are modest:

  • 95hp;
  • 130 N/m torque.

The unit is equipped with a 5-speed manual, which is standard for such a motor.

Features and price

The interior of the car is made in Chinese style. It does not have a hint of luxury or functionality, as in Infiniti. But he could satisfy the average buyer.

Some models provided climate control. The car was equipped standard package options.

A Chinese clone was made on the Austin Montego platform, which the company acquired in 2000. And although it has successfully outlived its period, in China they simply don’t throw anything away.

The E-Series remained in concept car status. Its exact price is unknown, but it would not exceed several tens of thousands of dollars.

Comparison with the original

Despite the blatant copying, it is difficult to compare the clone with the EX-series. They share a similar appearance. Otherwise, they are radically different machines.

Yema couldn't afford luxury and road performance so she went her own way. Infiniti in its trim levels has several powertrains - EX35 and EX50, and an additional package of options.

There is only one power unit in the list of the Chinese car.

Conclusion

The main factor in buying a copied car is the price. It is many times smaller than global brands. Flashing lights and imaginary manufacturability are a wrapper to attract buyers.

Let the Chinese car have low cost, do not forget - it is very far from the quality and reliability of European and other brands.

We are already accustomed to the fact that Chinese manufacturers many so-called clones get into Russia. Today we will consider one of these copies of the flagship of the Bavarian concern - the BMW X5. This is an amazing Shuanghuan Sceo car, which has been produced from 2006 to the present day, despite being officially recognized as an illegal copy. Today, the import of this car is prohibited only in Germany, in other countries Chinese brand may well supply its clone.

BMW Corporation has repeatedly tried to challenge the right of this concern to international sales of the car. Despite obvious similarities and obvious cloning appearance from the X5 crossover, the Bavarians failed to ban production and sales. True, and Shuanghuan Sceo could not become successful car in its class, even if sold in some countries to this day. The reasons for such problems with sales and positioning will be discussed below.

We look closely at the photo - features of the exterior of the BMW clone

If you carefully consider the appearance of the Chinese BMW X5, it becomes clear why in most countries the company was defeated in the market. Despite the analogue of some parts to the original Bavarian SUV, the Chinese car has a lot of unpleasant moments that are visible to the naked eye.

Shuanghuan Sceo has a very strange body dimensions and has a surprisingly repulsive interior. The only part of the body that does not resemble a BMW is the front part - the radiator grille and optics in a very strange shape.

In other parameters, the car is identical to the Bavarian prototype:

  • rear optics completely repeats the shape of the X5;
  • Chinese door handles look terrible and make you unwilling to open the door;
  • stiffening ribs on the body lined up exactly like the German prototype;
  • complete chaos reigns in the cabin, the ergonomics of the car have not been worked out;
  • interior taken from different premium cars, but it is not arranged very competently;
  • some moments inner peace Chinese jeep look very outdated.

In the cabin, the steering wheel immediately catches the eye, which has very strange characteristics of appearance and ergonomics. It is inconvenient to hold on to it, and even in the photo you can clearly see everything significant shortcomings driver area. Shuanghuan Sceo seats are also not very comfortable.

But buyers in Russia made allowances for these shortcomings, because the car turned out to be very cheap, with at the price of BMW the price tag of a Chinese clone was not even close. But it cannot be said that chinese bmw X5 has become really popular. The car was sold in our country only in 2006 and did not become a cult offer.

Technical part - no trace of BMW engines

Many motorists regret that clones Chinese made take as a basis only the appearance of BMW and other European premium brands. It would be better if they made analogues of engines with the same characteristics, with increased reliability and a large supply of horsepower.

But copy BMW SUV called Shuanghuan Sceo clearly did not take as a basis technical part Bavarian flagship. Under the hood of this car, offered in Russia back in 2006, there were only two power units with dubious technical characteristics. Clone X5 had the following data:

  • basic power unit - old Mitsubishi engine 2.4 liters and 110 horses;
  • the forced unit is also 2.4 liters, but with a potential of as much as 230 horses (the engine turned out to be terrible in operation);
  • a 2.8-liter diesel unit and 115 horses with terrible traction and high consumption;
  • poor dynamics on any engine makes the Shuanghuan Sceo an unsuccessful BMW clone;
  • driving is uncomfortable, so there is no need to talk about the safety of the trip.

The Chinese car turned out to be a very dubious offer for buyers in Russia. Nevertheless, base engine, which the car got from the Mitsubishi concern, was very reliable. The unit also comes with a Japanese gearbox, recreated by the Chinese from not too reliable materials, but working quite normally.

Exactly basic version Shuanghuan Sceo has received great feedback from customers. Many even then greatly changed their attitude towards Chinese transport and began to look for profitable opportunities among offers from the Middle Kingdom. But in general, the analogue of the BMW X5 for the Chinese turned out to be very exemplary, to talk about it high quality and popularity is not necessary.

Summing up

Despite the outright failure of the company's initial aspirations, the Shuanghuan Sceo is still produced today. Perhaps soon another generation of this car will come to Russia, which will force many buyers to change their attitude towards Chinese SUVs V better side. Shuanghuan Sceo, with certain modifications, may well become one of the successful market participants.

However, today the car is sold only in China and some Asian countries, where it enjoys relatively low popularity. The main factor in buying a clone is its attractive price. On secondary market purchase this model in our country it is possible at a cost in the range of 450-500 thousand rubles, which indicates the preservation of the price of Shuanghuan Sceo for a long time.

15.01.2015

It's no secret that the Chinese are very good at copying a variety of things. And if earlier everything was limited to clothes, electronics and household appliances, then recently Chinese cars began to fall into our field of vision, which have a lot of similarities with the world's bestsellers from the automotive industry. By the way, accusing the Chinese of plagiarism is still not very correct, because due to their mentality, they have a different view of copying, different from ours. If they manage to copy something, they consider that they have reached a certain level of skill, and now they are no worse than the manufacturer of the original model.

Not so long ago, photos of the brainchild of the Chinese auto industry of the Shuanghuan Sceo crossover began to appear on the Internet, which at first glance is very similar to the BMW X5 in the E53 body. But this is only at first glance, Sceo is not a 100% twin of the X5.

  1. These two cars have only a similar silhouette, the Chinese did not completely copy the Bavarian car, this is also evidenced by the differently drawn side lines of the body, and rear end a Chinese car that only has a spoiler in common with the X5.
  2. Shuanghuan Sceo has body parts, borrowed from other cars: so the hood is very reminiscent of the Mersedes ML, and the logo is similar to the SsangYong badge.
  3. The technological component has little in common with the German, Shuanghuan Sceo is a typical Chinese car with units made in China, albeit under license from colleagues from Japan.

Technical features

With regards to design features, then X5 and Sceo have even less in common. Shuanghuan Sceo is a classic frame SUV with all-wheel drive. The front suspension of the car is independent on double wishbones, rear dependent spring.

The car has only one engine - a four-cylinder 125-horsepower gasoline unit volume of 2.4 liters, produced under license from Mitsubishi. Naturally, this car is not designed for high-speed jerks from traffic lights. And who will do this on a two-ton frame SUV? The Shuanghuan Sceo is built for quiet trail riding and off-road combat.

With regards to the gearbox, only one option is also available - a five-speed mechanics, which does not cause any complaints, the gears turn on clearly and smoothly.

Unfortunately, not all vehicles have downshift, but the system of connected all-wheel drive everyone has. Although, I must say, in order to move through mud and sand, a plug-in rear axle. A big move suspension and its softness will provide comfort when moving on any rough terrain.

car interior

The creators of Shuanghuan Sceo failed to create an interior like a premium car. And to a large extent, the materials used influenced this: genuine leather seat upholstery does not look natural, cheap plastic gives itself away, the audio system is very mediocre. Although we must pay tribute to the designers, the interior is designed really well, just a little underdeveloped. At least in Sceo you won't find centimeter gaps in the panel or disgusting squeaky plastic.

Nevertheless, the Chinese developers managed to create a good reliable car. It cannot be said that it is authentic, but you will be respected on the road, because at first glance Shuanghuan Sceo really looks like a donor in the face of the BMW X5.

The price of the car also plays an important role. IN maximum configuration The Sceo will cost around $33,000. For this money, of course, you can buy an X5, but it will not be new at all and far from the fact that it has a clean history and no twisted mileage. And the maintenance of a Chinese car will be incomparably cheaper, because it uses only reliable, time-tested engineering solutions, which may be a little outdated, but this does not affect their operation and service life in any way.
