The highest position of the body makes it possible to overcome water obstacles up to 900 (!) mm deep. However, despite the significant similarity of the new Discovery with the products of the Range Rover line, it is in front of us in the first place: the 2014 Discovery Vision concept promised for production, with some serial simplification edits and current trends for 2016.

What's in the cabin? Oddly enough (or strange?), But the new "Disco" in its residential part strongly resembles the younger "Sport" - and almost did not retain the features familiar from the previous generation. Almost: characteristic "triggers" remained on the steering wheel for working with on-board computer and cruise control system. And the rest - new, not stained glorious history old.

It has definitely become more convenient: the designers have provided a lot of niches and cavities, some of which may not be visible. For example, on the center console behind the “climate” setting, a deep niche was hidden (similar to Cadillac and Chevrolet cars, but without an electric drive), and the central tunnel has its own box (to the right of the transmission selectors and the proprietary Terrain Response) - with the ability to place a solid package documents ... or a pack of 10-inch tablets. Finally, the armrest between the front seats - it hides a fairly spacious refrigerator. And for a snack, two whole glove compartments. A variety of "Plushkin" will appreciate.

However, the decoration of the center console is not a niche for trifles, but the new InControl Touch Pro multimedia complex located above with, finally, great graphics and performance. We note, among other things, that constructively does not mean “old” in this case: all elements are carefully revised, shortcomings are taken into account, the details are made taking into account the above. And the air suspension did not stand aside: now it is able to “squat” by 40 mm in parking mode.

And, of course, the most obvious difference is the design. More precisely, the “absence of brutal box-shaped forms” said at the very beginning of the article: the coefficient drag it now has only 0.33 - not a record, but a rather pleasant indicator for this class of car.

Next, the motors were modified: Discovery has a new generation in the range power units diesel "turbo-fours" of the Ingenium family appeared with capacities of 180 and 220 forces from 2 liters of working volume. True, these modifications are unlikely to be presented on the Russian market.
