All-wheel drive Fiat Panda - Remedy for winter. Installation of air suspension on Fiat Ducato.

All-wheel drive Fiat Panda - Remedy for winter. Installation of air suspension on Fiat Ducato.

turned out perfect car For winter operation in the city. He easily copes with the usual winter problems: cold start of the engine, snowdrifts on the roads, traffic jams and lack of parking spaces.

There are also disadvantages: it is crowded and noisy, and on a snowy track you have to be very careful, otherwise the car will turn around at the most unexpected moment. And such a car costs a lot - almost 20 thousand dollars.

Fiat Panda was introduced in 2003, and was soon recognized as the car of the year in Europe. A little later, the premiere of a family of all-wheel drive versions took place, including Panda Climbing, which has been officially delivered to Russia since last year.
The Climbing version differs from the usual "" version by increased ground clearance, other bumpers, as well as protective moldings and wheel arch linings made of black plastic.
As planned by the designers, when driving on dry asphalt, the torque from the engine is transmitted only to the front wheels. As soon as they start to slip, with the help of a viscous coupling, which is located near rear differential, automatically connect rear axle. In addition, for a small surcharge for the "Panda" you can order the ELD (Electronic Locking Differential) system, which imitates the locking of cross-axle differentials: it slows down the slipping wheel and "transfers" the torque to the opposite side of the axle. Block center differential there is no need - he is absent here.
Salon Panda - enjoy light color and decorated with yellow accents on the seats, but the quality of finishing materials is disappointing. For example, the plastic from which the front panel is made evokes associations with the interior of the VAZ G8. Truth versus products domestic auto industry, nothing rattles inside the Fiat, and all panels fit perfectly together.

The landing of the driver can not be called successful. Relative to the seat, the steering wheel here is shifted to the left, which is unusual in itself, besides, you always touch the door trim with your left elbow. On the right, the driver lacks an armrest: when shifting gears, the elbow hangs uncomfortably in the air. In addition, the Panda's interior is narrow, and the driver inadvertently touches the passenger sitting next to him. But I was pleased with the visibility: you sit high and you can clearly see everything that is happening around, except perhaps side mirrors could be more.
There is even less space in the back than in the front, but during short trips around the city, two passengers will not feel cramped. But for the transportation of luggage, the Panda is unlikely to fit: even with the rear seats folded down, not much more things will fit in the car than in the trunk of a golf-class sedan.
Equipped with Panda Climbing quite richly. There is climate control, an on-board computer, power windows (front) and power mirrors, two airbags, front belt pretensioners and a headlight washer.
Here it is worth digressing a little and warning that the car that we had for a test drive was richer equipped than the versions sold in Russia. Unlike the “Russian” Panda Climbing, “our” car was equipped with transparent roof with sunroof, MP3 radio and multifunction steering wheel with audio control buttons.

During the test drive in Moscow there was a blizzard. As is usually the case, public utilities did not have time to immediately remove the snow, and the roadway was covered with a loose mess, and the roadsides were covered with snowdrifts.
It was in these conditions that the all-wheel drive Fiat Panda showed itself with better side. At the start, the visco-clutch is instantly blocked, and the driver does not even have time to feel the slip of the front wheels. As a result, a small light machine on snow porridge confidently "rows" with all four wheels, leaving much more powerful "mono-drive" cars far behind.
Snow in Moscow always leads to difficulties on the roads. Even if the cars do not "stand up tightly", they move very slowly and carefully, keeping their distance. Thanks to their compact Fiat dimensions Panda manages to squeeze into any "gap" between cars and go when others "crawl". Four-wheel drive gives confidence that the car will accelerate even on a slippery road and will have time to "slip" into the gap formed between the rows.
The Fiat Panda also has no problems with parking in a snowy city. Thanks to short overhangs and all-wheel drive, the car confidently climbs into snowdrifts in parking lots and just as confidently gets out of them, and compact dimensions allow you to wedge yourself among other parked cars.
We couldn’t test the Panda at -30, but at -15 a car that had stood all night on the street starts up “with half a turn”, and the interior quickly fills with warm air.

When we left Moscow to test the Fiat Panda on the track, the blizzard was over and the municipal services managed to clear most of the roads from snow.
On a straight line, a small Fiat behaves unexpectedly confidently: it doesn’t scour, it doesn’t “blow away” with a side wind, and it doesn’t pay attention to the rutting of the roads - the rut of the car itself is narrower than that of “everyone”, and its wheels simply do not fall into the general “ rails."
However, I do not want to go fast, and it does not work. At speeds above 110 kilometers per hour, the interior of the car is filled with all sorts of whistles and howls - the engine howls and the wind, tires make noise, and sand knocks on the wheel arches. In addition, the capabilities of the 1.2-liter 60-horsepower engine, which is equipped with all cars delivered to Russia, are clearly not enough for confident acceleration on the track. There are also problems with braking: there are no complaints about the brakes themselves (disc mechanisms both front and rear), but it is not convenient to use them - the pedal is very light and lacks information content, as a result of which the driver constantly overbrakes.
The “Panda” pendant is most easily characterized by the word “elastic”. It is almost impossible to “break through” it on any irregularities. At the same time, the car does not seem tough, but on the waves of asphalt, Fiat begins to unpleasantly “goat”.
In normal corners, the rolls of the small all-terrain vehicle are minimal and there is a distinct Feedback. However, when performing sharp maneuvers, such as bypassing a sudden obstacle, the driver does not feel very confident - in order to return to the “correct” trajectory, he has to “catch” the car with the wheel.
On a slippery road, the Fiat Panda at first behaves like front wheel drive car, but as soon as the rear axle is connected, it starts to oversteer. In the city, this behavior is pleasant: under traction, the car recklessly screwed into turns, while remaining predictable. But on a snowy track, Panda can be dangerous:
Imagine that you are going through a long turn on a slippery road at a speed of about 90 kilometers per hour. In this case, all the torque is transmitted to the front wheels, which “pull” the car into the turn. But as soon as they stall at least a little, the rear axle immediately connects and the car ... that's right, it starts to skid. There is no stabilization system here, and even for experienced driver drift may come as a surprise.
Fuel consumption on the highway at Fiat Panda Climbing is significantly higher than that of the front-wheel drive version. Even with uniform motion at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour, the car consumes at least 7.5 - 8 liters of gasoline per "hundred". Coupled with a small gas tank with a volume of only 30 liters, gas station visits become too frequent.

As you know, in Russia there are roads not everywhere. And those that are are not always cleared of snow. That's why four-wheel drive vehicles Russians often choose not only for confident driving on slippery roads, but also for overcoming off-road of varying complexity.
Of course, we did not drive the Panda onto the jeep trial track. Instead, we decided to drive to the dacha along the road, which had not been cleared since the beginning of winter, where the height of the snow cover was 5-7 centimeters higher than ground clearance car.
On the virgin snow, the Fiat Panda crawled about five meters the first time, and then stopped, slipping all four wheels. By turning on the electronic “differential lock” ELD, we again tried to take the obstacle “on the fly”. With the ELD turned on, Panda drove even less confidently: the car was still skidding on all four wheels, but at the same time it was pulled to the side, where there was less snow, and it almost stopped responding to steering. It seems that such a system is useful only if at least one of the wheels has confident grip with the road. And when everything is slipping, it is better not to turn it on.
As a result, we still managed to pave the way for snow covered road. As soon as the car starts to lose speed, it is better not to burrow, but to reverse and try again. Each time Panda will move further and further forward, crushing its way in the snow. And it turned out to be even easier to go back: in its tracks, the car confidently climbed onto solid “ground”. In general, we got the feeling that if you put toothy off-road tires on the Panda, you can drive on any snow without any problems.

When we returned the car to the car dealership, we were told that all-wheel drive Pandas, despite the high price, are used in Russia most in demand. This is a car for enthusiasts who dream of a compact, stylish all-terrain vehicle, on which you feel confident both in Moscow traffic jams and on light off-road. But for long trips just like the role family car, does not fit.
The cost of Panda Climbing in Moscow car dealerships is 515 thousand rubles or 19 thousand 800 dollars. There are no other all-wheel drive configurations, but in the list additional equipment- only electronic differential lock ELD (plus 5,000 rubles).
Prices for a simpler front-wheel drive Panda start at 340,000 rubles ($13,000). IN standard equipment the car is equipped with electric power steering, central locking, on-board computer and front power windows. A more "advanced" version with air conditioning, power mirrors, back seat, folding in parts, adjustable driver's seat in height and a box under the front passenger seat will cost 375 thousand rubles (14 thousand 280 dollars), and a car with robotic box gears in the same configuration costs 405 thousand rubles (15 thousand 420 dollars).

The Italians showed the all-wheel drive version of their SUV freemont. By the way, the car is nothing more than a copy of Journey. Actually, this is one of the most powerful cars that this brand has. This jeep is essentially a wolf in sheep's clothing, it is very powerful and delivers excellent driving performance. The latest modification along with the updated undercarriage and the addition of a drive to all four wheels received also external changes. So, for example, the nose of the car received a more brutal design, and the Fiat badge was made basically of chrome. Americans are famous for their powerful SUVs, but this time the Europeans have brought their own car to even greater perfection.

All-wheel drive, which is trumped in the company, is equipped with electronic unit control using special sensors, they then diagnose each wheel and, if necessary, transmit torque to one or another wheel or axle. By the way, all these functions are included only at the request of the driver himself. If you are driving on the highway, where there is no possibility of stalling or in the city where all-wheel drive is useless, you can simply turn it off, which will save fuel.

As for technical specifications, it has two engines to choose from - a two-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 170 hp. and a 3.6 liter engine. giving an output of 283 hp Both motors work together with a six-speed automatic.

Everything you need from a car. This is the slogan of an advertising campaign for one car and it sounds at least very self-confident. Well, how do they know in Mexico what I need from a car in Moscow? Although they almost guessed it. This model has almost everything and every year, from restyling to restyling, more and more appears - a little from an SUV, a little from family minivan, a bit of a crossover. In general, this explosive mixture is called Fiat Freemont, and the main component in its preparation was the American almost Dodge Jorney jeep.

How to make a person buy a Fiat instead of a Dodge

New model Fiat Freemont 2016-2017 model year difficult to assess how cheap option Dodge. Yes, its price is somewhat lower, but only for the reason that it is assembled in Mexico and initially it did not have all-wheel drive in order to fully compete with the large American platform. Now he has everything. Did not have diesel engine- in 2015, a complete set with a diesel engine appeared, there was no all-wheel drive, an all-wheel drive version of the Fiat Freemont Cross was already shown in Geneva. True, Dodge immediately introduced the almost off-road minivan Jorney Crossroad.

External design new Fiat Freemont does not really try to be different from the American, although there is still a touch of European style. This is especially true of the latest exhibition equipment, in the first place - Fiat Freemont Black Code. A year and a half ago, this minivan became the head of the column of all versions of Fremonts. The first and main difference of this configuration is the previously inaccessible V-shaped six-cylinder Pentastar gasoline engine with a volume of 3.6 liters and a power of 280 horses. This version also offers a 170-horsepower two-liter diesel engine, and the drive can be either all-wheel or only front-wheel drive.

Spacious and comfortable interior

Flagship Fremont and equipped in a flagship way - everything in the cabin is trimmed with natural leather, even the third row of seats, three-zone climate control, a powerful 370-watt audio system and designer alloy wheels. All decorative elements that are shiny chrome on the stock Fremont are glossy black on this version, including 19-inch wheels. The car is Dodge-style and Fiat-style sporty. True, such a version was not presented in Russia. By the way, in the States, too, few people know about the existence of the Fiat Freemont, they are content with their native Dodge, just Freemont became the first model with which Italian-American cooperation began. And yet, for Europe, Fiat is somehow dearer, which is why the initially simple and not too expensive European Dodge under the Fiat brand was sent from Mexico to the family-oriented Old World.

Comfort, space and a bit of all-wheel drive, photo

The best selling minivan in Italy

In a non-native, but historical homeland, Fiat Freemont is very popular. This is the best-selling minivan there, and about 75% of all Fremonts sold in Italy were in expensive trim levels. This is probably why the company makes the car more and more expensive every year, while not forgetting to improve and base model. Official dealer in Moscow sells a crossover minivan at a price of 1,500,000 rubles. The top equipment in Russia is the Lounge, they ask for 1,700,000 rubles for it, although none of them offer all-wheel drive and powerful engines. For the Russian Federation, only the initial gasoline engine with a capacity of 170 forces and a volume of 2.4 liters is available, only front-wheel drive, and the transmission can only be automatic.

In Europe, you can buy a car with one of six engines, including the famous Chrysler Pentastar for 280 forces (however, with this V6 minivan becomes 187 kg heavier), you can complete the car hydro mechanical box, a preselective robot or a simple six-speed manual transmission, but all-wheel drive implies only the installation of an automatic transmission. The diesel Multijet became the most sold in the EU. 2 liter turbodiesel with direct injection gives 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The price in Europe for the new Fiat Freemont 2017 model year is about 25-26 thousand euros.

The car is focused primarily on a large active family, which means that the interior must be huge in order to compete with other family cars. This is true. The Fiat Freemont is more spacious than the Dodge. Not much, but more spacious, or it looks more spacious, but three hefty passengers will calmly sit on the second row of seats and will not feel disadvantaged in some way. The passenger, indeed, can be quite large, since the doors actually open wide open, by 90 degrees, so getting into the second row of seats is quite simple. And the third row, if it is provided by the configuration, is also within reach. Access to it is provided by a folding sofa of the second row. If you need to sit on the third row, the second row seat transforms and slides forward on a sled. Everything happens quickly and very conveniently. The second row seat is divided in a 40/60 ratio, so you can sit on the third row both on one side and on the other. Of course, one should not hope for royal comfort in the gallery, especially if the height of the passenger is above average. However, to compensate for the cramped space, Fiat has given third-row passengers their own climate control.

The second row of seats will show a truly American space. Each seat can be adjusted to move forward or backward by 120 mm, you can find a comfortable position by changing the angle of the backrest. Leather upholstery does not slip, high quality and pleasant to the touch. Here, too, there is control over the air temperature and the intensity of the airflow, and if passengers feel sad, they can fold down the folding multimedia screen located on the ceiling and take the wireless headphones that come with the kit. But the ceiling screen itself is an option. But in any of the configurations, the interior can have at least 32 configurations. Even the Volkswagen Multivan will envy. Starting from the central pillar, the cabin and trunk space can change as you like.

For example, by folding only the third row of seats, you can get a trunk with a volume of 540 liters instead of the standard two hundred. And if we level the second row with the floor, we get a trunk of 1470 liters. But this is not the limit. The front passenger seat also folds flush with the floor and then you can add another meter in length to the cargo compartment. A real van, a surfer's or mountain skier's dream. Even in the five-seater version of the cabin, two ordinary bicycles, a couple of tents and a lot of other tourist stuff can easily fit.

Pure Italian. Test drive the new Fiat Freemont 2017

High ground clearance gives some off-road freedom

Don't just think that new minivan- this is just a clone of the Dodge Journey with all the resulting Americanisms, soft and smooth running, imposing work of the Pentastar and an automatic transmission. The Italians have radically changed the nature of the car and there is no need to complain about it. Although he has enough shortcomings, especially if you apply Fiat features Freemont to Russian conditions. For example, there is no spare wheel in the car at all. Not provided. Only a frail dokatka, modestly hiding under rear bumper. Try to get it on a November rainy evening on the road somewhere between Ryazan and Ryazhsk. Pleasant little. In addition, save on all-wheel drive not worth it. Despite the fact that until recently it was impossible to buy a four-wheel drive minivan in Russia, it is better to prefer a used all-wheel drive Fiat from Europe with mileage. So it will be easier to get out when maneuvering on narrow roads on ice or snow.

Of course it's a minus. Russian configurations, yet even in front of Journey Fremont looks more prepared for our roads. Not even a crossover will show such clearance - up to the rear multi-link suspension 215 mm from the ground, and to the overhang front bumper and even more - 245 mm. In addition, the suspension has received completely different settings and, according to the owners, allows you to be more relaxed about bumps in the road. In addition, the car rolls less in corners, it handles sharper, and the Italian diesel Multijet looks more brisk than American engines. Especially brightly the car will show its Italian character with a six-speed manual box programs, which are also not yet available in the Russian Federation.

Branded Multijet under the hood

With any engine, the Fiat Freemont has decent traction and decent dynamics, as well as fairly tolerable fuel consumption. All diesels that Fremont is equipped with, according to technical specifications, should not ask for more than 7 liters per hundred, but in fact, you can invest in 8-10 liters on the highway, depending on the load and speed, and in the city, consumption will increase even more if you drive a car with Italian temperament. In general, in combined cycle, you should count on a consumption of about 12 liters per hundred and this is quite normal for a large family car. This is facilitated by reliable and tenacious disc brakes on all wheels, you don't have to be careful.
If there are any Italian mischievous traits in the character of the Fiat Freemont, then in terms of equipment it is the purest American.

In the database, the car received:

  • heated front and rear windows;
  • system keyless entry and push button start
  • self-dimming rear-view mirror;
  • 6-band electric adjustment of the front seats;
  • three-zone climate control;
  • automatic LED running lights;
  • headlights with turn-off delay function;
  • front and rear parking sensors;
  • multifunction steering wheel;
  • 8.4-inch multimedia touch screen;
  • 17-inch alloy wheels, and for a surcharge you can get 19-inch wheels.

Video: test drive Fiat Freemont

Quite a decent level of equipment, given that with the same equipment, Dodge will cost 300-400 thousand more. Perhaps the Italians are right. This Fremont has almost everything you need from a car - an excellent level of comfort, care for passengers, Italian dynamics and handling, American equipment and design. And an American name. That was the name of the American major general during the Civil War, the governor of Arizona, and he became famous for his research expeditions in the southwestern States. So the Fiat Freemont bears the name of the great explorer for a reason.

These days it is quite difficult to find a car that, with a stylish appearance, combines functionality and a good set of options. Although the Fiat Sedichi can hardly be called original, this crossover perfectly fulfills its duties as a city car for occasional trips out of town.

A bit of history

Back in 2003, Suzuki and Fiat entered into an agreement to create a compact urban crossover, as a result of which the Sedichi model was born, first shown to the public during Geneva Motor Show 2006. Its name, by the way, is the most symbolic, because Sedichi is translated as “sixteen”, and the wheel formula of the car is just 4x4.

On our website you can find - another very popular urban crossover. This car has a very remarkable appearance, and we are sure that you will definitely like it.

The new Ford Edge could be another bestseller from this manufacturer. For a detailed acquaintance with the data of a car with a rich history, we recommend that you

Sedichi was created on the same platform as the Suzuki Swift, however, the eminent ItalDesign studio worked on the appearance of the crossover. Outwardly, of course, it is difficult to call this car original, because it completely copies Japanese model SX4, which, however, is not surprising, because both crossovers are assembled at the Hungarian plant.

Designed by Fiat Sedichi

Despite the fact that the crossover is designed for five passengers, it belongs to the compact category. Its dimensions are a pleasant surprise: 4110 mm in length, 1760 mm in width and 1620 in height. The body of the Sedichi is made in the shape of a wedge, which certainly adds some dynamics to its appearance. wheel arches widened, the front fenders protrude quite strongly. Situated around the perimeter plastic body kit, which is almost always present in current urban crossovers.

Remarkable in the guise of an Italian of Hungarian origin are also the main headlights, made in the form of a boomerang. By the way, there are eight body color options, including metallic ones.

The luggage compartment is not enough by today's standards: only 270 liters, which is comparable to some small car. However, when transporting oversized cargo you can fold the rear row of seats, increasing the trunk by another 400 liters.

Salon Fiat is surprisingly spacious: the seats are quite soft, there is enough space for all five passengers, and long trips not very tiring. It is noteworthy that even tall people will be comfortable, because the ceiling of the cabin is high.

Indicators from the instruments are read well, all three radii are quite large and intuitive. The center console is also functional, it houses a new one (for models from 2012) multimedia system with a five-inch screen and built-in navigation. Finishing materials have also changed somewhat from the latest model update, the seats have acquired more pronounced lateral support.

Already in the database, Fiat Sedichi offers several delights, such as covered in leather steering wheel and a gear selector, EBD and ABS, airbags (front and side), power accessories, air conditioning, the already mentioned body kit and roof rails, the Hands Free access system and some other options. You can also order additional leather upholstery interior and side curtain airbags.

Specifications Fiat Sedichi

Needless to say, you feel comfortable in Sedichi's cabin, and if you consider that this car is all-wheel drive, then you will get a lot of pleasure from driving. The transmission, by the way, can operate in three modes. By default, the crossover is purely front-wheel drive, however rear drive can be connected either automatically (when slipping, 4WD Auto) or forcibly in 4WD Lock mode.

Of course, you can’t ride a Fiat on forest roads, but due to the clearance of 19 centimeters, you can overcome rural roads and be calm in a snowy winter.

There are two engine options to choose from: petrol and diesel. gasoline engine has a volume of 1.6 liters and produces up to 107 Horse power and is sold complete with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic. Max Speed Sedichi in this version will be 170 kilometers per hour, while the consumption is an average of 7.1 liters per hundred, but official data usually differ from real ones.

The diesel engine is turbocharged, having a volume of 1.9 liters, it produces up to 120 horses, reaching speeds of up to 180 kilometers per hour. It is noteworthy that the engine is equipped particulate filter and complies with Euro-4 standards, however, with Russian fuel, as follows from the reviews of the owners, he is not very friendly.

The front suspension consists of the now popular MacPherson struts, simple and reliable, but the rear is semi-independent torsion bar suspension. Thanks to ABS, Sedichi brakes confidently, rear brakes here drum, front - disc. Driving the crossover is quite simple, including thanks to the electric power steering. In words, of course, Fiat Sedichi is not bad for its class, let's see how it shows itself in action.

Test drive Fiat Sedichi

Of course, the appearance of Sedichi almost completely repeats the shape of the Suzuki SX4, with the exception of the shape of the body kit, bumper and, of course, emblems. Exactly the same can be said about the interior, which differs only in the nameplate on the steering wheel. But here everything is assembled with high quality, the details are fitted tightly, the fabric is sewn securely. It may seem to someone that the plastic is too hard, but it is easier to take care of it.

The center console is convenient, it is easy to control air conditioning, ventilation and heating. Inconveniently placed button on-board computer, but multimedia control is located on the steering wheel. The seats and steering wheel can be adjusted quite precisely over a wide range, so that, as already mentioned, even tall people will be comfortable here. Visibility is good enough thanks to the same high landing. The back is also quite comfortable, only the volume of the trunk upsets, so additional cargo will have to be transported on the roof.

On the move, the engine shows itself quite well, it accelerates briskly for its volume. On asphalt, everything is fine with handling, even rolls during a vigorous turn do not make you worry. The steering wheel from lock to lock has only 2.7 turns, quite “sharp”, isn't it?

By the way, the Sedichi mono-drive model is also available for purchase, which is equipped with mechanics. Its ground clearance is already 175 mm, which significantly reduces the vehicle's off-road patency. Although the all-wheel drive Fiat feels inadequate off-road: the shock absorbers travel is clearly not enough, and the suspension setting leaves much to be desired. On the bottoms, the motor is also not impressive, but the tops are outstanding. Needless to say, the crossover is urban, it behaves well on asphalt, it is not afraid of curbs and speed bumps at all, and more is often not needed. Let's see how much you need to pay for the Fiat Sedichi.

Price and competitors of Fiat Sedichi

Unfortunately, Sedichi is not officially sold in Russia, so you can only buy it "on hand". The price of Fiat Sedichi in this case starts at an average of 400,000 rubles, which is not so little for used cars. Nevertheless, this car is bought, if only because, unlike Sedichi, it is not so common in our open spaces.

  • The new Suzuki, oddly enough, is a direct competitor of the Italian, it is both more accessible and cheaper by an average of 100 thousand rubles. However, the Japanese cannot be bought with an excellent turbodiesel, so Sedichi does not lose this competition to smithereens.
  • Daihatsu Terios (aka Toyota Rush) has about the same price as Fiat with Suzuki, but it behaves an order of magnitude better off-road. At the same time, his engine, if not strong, is weaker, so there may be a lack of power on the track. Among the shortcomings, you can also name what to ride long distance Terios is not very comfortable.
  • Nissan Qashqai is also one of Sedichi's most obvious competitors. It costs a little more, is officially sold in Russia, and besides, it is equipped with more powerful motor. Qashqai has long been considered one of the most successful cars of its class, so it is not at all surprising that there are often queues in the salons to buy this crossover.

Of course, compared to competitors, Fiat Sedichi does not look so attractive, but when it comes to taste, arguments in favor of affordability, price and power can be powerless. Let's see what those who still bought it say about their car.

“Well, where does mint come from in Italy ?! I saw their Italy on the map - a boot with a boot, ”one of the characters ironically said in the film“ Formula of Love ”, a county physician, performed by Muller of All Rus', the brilliant Leonid Bronev. We don’t know how things really are with mint in Italy, we didn’t find out, but what they do on the Apennine Peninsula good cars- this is undeniable. Let me introduce you to the FIAT Sedici SUV, the first Italian crossover on the Russian market.

Probably, it will be unusual for most Russians to see FIAT in such a new look. However, this is not surprising. After all, it is not written on the body of the car capital letters- Fiat. So, most of the townspeople, perhaps, will not even guess what is in front of them. italian car. And those who are familiar with Japanese auto industry, they may not read further :-), I’ll say it straight out - this is the Suzka SX4 hatchback.

For the uninitiated, this is the usual compact SUV, of which a lot moves along the highways of cities. There is nothing particularly outstanding in the exterior of the car, just as there are no special innovative solutions. If we consider each detail separately, then you will not see novelty, but in the complex you get a rather respectable appearance. modern car. The front of the Fiat Sedichi is pointed, which gives the crossover a certain dynamism.

In the interior of the FIAT Sedici, of course, all the traditions of the European car industry are observed. The ergonomics of all interior details are thought out to the subtleties. Soft seats are made in accordance with the anatomical structure of the human body, so even a long stay at the wheel does not tire. Plus, the height of the cabin is such that a tall person can easily fit in the Fiat Sedichi chair. The car control console is extremely functional, although here the manufacturer has also introduced a certain flavor, for example, the gearshift rocker is covered with soft leather. As, however, the steering wheel is covered with leather. Behind the steering wheel dashboard quite informative and easy to read the necessary information.

A truly Italian character - impulsive, skittish - gives FIAT car Sedici high-torque and torquey motor. All models, regardless of configuration, are equipped with gasoline engine, the volume of which is 1.6 liters. The number of cylinders is 4, the arrangement of the cylinders is in-line. The gas distribution system has two camshafts. The number of engine valves is 16. The FIAT Sedichi engine develops maximum power at 107 hp at 5600 rpm. The engine is powered by a distributed injection system and, as a result, the car is in the Euro 4 ecological niche. There is a difference in the transmission, depending on the configuration. There are two types of transmissions in FIAT Sedici. Some cars are equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission gears. These are those in which front-wheel drive. Others - all-wheel drive FIAT Sedici - are equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Continuing the conversation about technical specifications Fiat Sedichi. The wheel formula of the FIAT Sedici chassis of the “Emotion” configuration is standard for a crossover – “4 × 4”. Actually, this wheel arrangement gave the name of the model - "sedici" in Italian means "sixteen". The front suspension of the car is independent - the proven simple and reliable MacPherson strut. Rear mounted semi-independent suspension, torsion bar. FIAT Sedici brakes equipped with ABS system, which in extreme conditions simply irreplaceable. Front brakes are disc, rear are drum. Steering supported by an electric booster, so there are no problems with car handling even in difficult road conditions.

The combination of engine, transmission and chassis qualities is the basis of excellent performance characteristics car. Test drives of FIAT Sedici, carried out by independent experts and consumers already at the stage of operation, confirmed the conformity of the car's parameters with the declared ones. For example, fuel consumption in different conditions slightly different from the manufacturer's declared 10 liters per hundred kilometers. The manufacturer also managed to realize the claims of FIAT Sedici for “off-road capability”. Within reasonable limits, of course. Not being an all-terrain vehicle in the full sense of the word, the all-wheel drive version of the car moves quite confidently in a relatively difficult conditions country roads.

About the price of Fiat Sedichi is separate story. On the Russian market FIAT price Sedici, to put it mildly, is strange (for this segment of cars) - it is in the range of 720 ~ 830 thousand rubles (the fact is that his “Japanese twin brother” in similar trim levels~ 100 thousand cheaper). However, the “extraordinary” pricing policy of FIAT in Russia is no longer news to anyone. So it turns out that you can buy a FIAT Sedici only out of great love for the Fiat brand or for Italy itself, and those who appreciate it in this car consumer qualities(but used to counting money) - probably prefers the Japanese SX4.
