Exterior

As we have already said, the appearance of the car has changed a lot, its muzzle has received a long hood with a lot of bumps. The optics correspond to the civilian version of this car, it is narrow, it has LED filling and, of course, there are branded angel eyes.


Between the headlights is a branded grille with a chrome trim, which, in turn, is connected to the headlights. A rather massive, aerodynamic and aggressive bumper is installed, which has two huge air intakes in the lower part. The bumper looks really menacing.


Also, the side part of the BMW M3 2017-2018 model has undergone drastic changes. Here, after the front arch, there is a gill with chrome decoration, from which the upper line of the body goes through the door opening handles, it looks cool. The wheel arches are quite swollen, and there is also a small stamping in the lower part, which in turn visually connects the arches to each other. The design of the rear-view mirrors has changed, at first glance it seems that they have two racks, but this is not so, there is only one rack.


The rear of the car has also undergone major changes, it received a large trunk lid, which has a small but still noticeable spoiler in the upper part. Aggressive proprietary optics are installed at the back, allowing you to recognize the manufacturer by its style. The rear bumper is also quite massive, it has reflectors that look menacing. Also under the bumper are four pipes of the exhaust system with a chic sound.

The rear and front subframes have changed almost completely, most of the elements in the chassis were made of aluminum. And so it's a classic MacPherson strut in front and a multi-link system in the back. In addition, the model has excellent disc brakes with ventilation, 4-piston brakes are installed in front and 2-piston rear brakes. For extra money, a ceramic system is also offered, which is much better than the base one. The model is well controlled, and there are also driving modes, which affects the rigidity and ease of control.

As we have already said, the model has rear-wheel drive, but an active differential with electronically controlled wheel locks was introduced into it, and a carbon-fiber propeller shaft was also installed, thereby making it lighter than on the civilian version.

Under these already selectors there is a separate climate control unit, it consists of two twists that are familiar to many, a display in the middle that displays all the information and a bunch of buttons, in principle everything is clear, but at first glance you get a little scared.


The tunnel, located between the driver and front passenger, has at the very beginning a pair of boxes for small things. After it, we see the gearbox selector, to the left of which there are buttons for enabling / disabling ESP and other things. On the right is a carbon fiber insert, on which there is a washer and several buttons for controlling the multimedia system, and to the left of all this is the parking brake handbrake. It is unlikely that anyone will use the trunk in this car. But still, if there are such people, then it will please you, since its volume is 480 liters.

As we have already said, the model began to be sold almost after the very start of sales, around the world a little later. The basic equipment of the model cost 3,222,000 rubles, for this money you received the following:

In the base, the engine is aggregated with the new Getrag 6-speed “mechanics”, which allows the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.3 seconds. As an option, you can install a 7-band “robot” with two clutches, which will reduce the starting acceleration time to 4.1 seconds with the “Launch control” function turned on. The top speed limit in both cases is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but it can be pushed up to 280 km/h with the optional M Driver's Package.
As for fuel consumption, this BMW M3 consumes about 8.8 liters of AI-95 gasoline with a manual transmission, and 8.3 liters in a mixed driving mode with an optional "robot".

The fifth generation of the BMW M3 received the F80 platform index - most of the chassis of which was borrowed from the BMW 3-Series F30. At the front, the developers used an independent suspension on MacPherson struts, and at the rear they used an independent multi-link suspension. Options and prices. Sedan BMW M3 already in early 2014 is available for pre-order from official Russian dealers. The debut of the novelty in our market is expected closer to the beginning of summer, but the prices have already been announced.
