The new Audi A4 allroad is a crossover station wagon with all-wheel drive. The first incarnation of the Audi A4 allroad Specifications of the Audi A4 allroad quattro

30.07.2019

Crossover model from Audi Audi A4 allroad quattro was officially presented in March 2009 on the podium of the Geneva Motor Show. More than two years later, in the winter of 2011, the car went through a facelift and appeared in showrooms in early 2012 with an updated look. The station wagon with the crossover appearance of the Audi A4 Allroad in 2013 is not found on the roads of Russia as often as its passenger counterparts from, but the prefix allroad quattro to the main name gives the car unique properties and charisma. Price Audi A4 allroad quattro 2013 production in Russia starts from 1638 thousand rubles.

In our review, we will talk about the appearance and technical characteristics, the interior and filling the car with options, about what is the price of the new Audi A4 Allroad Quattro 2013 for Russian motorists. Traditionally, we will arrange a test drive on an asphalt road and try to find out the limit of the station wagon's off-road capabilities. For completeness, in the article, as always, there are a lot of photos of the Audi A4 allroad 2013 and video materials, as well as an analysis of the reviews of the owners.

It should be noted right away that the Audi A4 Avant station wagon served as a platform donor for the A4 allroad quattro, but the appearance of the off-road version is somewhat different.

  • Let's start the review with the external dimensions of the body, tires and disks installed on the car. The Audi A4 allroad is 4721 mm long, 1841 mm wide, 1495 mm high, 2805 mm wheelbase, 1574 mm front track, 1583 mm rear track, 180 mm ground clearance(clearance).
  • Russian versions flaunt on alloy wheels 17 sizes with 225/55 R17 tires, larger 18-19 inch and even huge 20 size light alloy wheels with 245/45 R18, 245/40 R19, 245/35 R20 tires are available as an option.

Station wagon and crossover A4 allroad with increased ground clearance and proprietary full quattro drive stand out in the stream with a bright and stylish appearance, attract the views of others. Main differences allroad versions quattro from conventional Avant station wagons lie not only in a higher body and increased ground clearance. German designers subtly and harmoniously complemented the off-road versions with bumpers of a different configuration with combined inserts made of black plastic and of stainless steel, powerful wheel arch extensions and stylish door sills, completing the picture big amount aluminum decor.

Such an entourage plays two roles at the same time: firstly, the contrasting combination of unpainted plastic, steel and aluminum visually adds solidity, and secondly, the lining along the lower perimeter of the body protects metal parts from unwanted damage during off-road assault. By the way, it would not be superfluous to add that in the production of the power frame of the car body, cold-formed steel and steel made by hot pressure, aluminum profile parts and casting are used, and all this is additionally coated with double-sided galvanization. High corrosion resistance allows you to operate cars in difficult Russian conditions for ten to fifteen years without worrying about the condition of the body.

Otherwise, the Audi A4 allroad quattro exactly repeats the sophisticated appearance of its platform models. A huge shield of the branded trapezoid false radiator grille, exquisite headlights with sophisticated lighting equipment, smooth lines, a harmonious combination of stampings, depressions and smooth surfaces on the sidewalls, an airy roof falling to the stern, a rapid slope of the C-pillar, giving the body a dynamic and sporty look, large rectangle door luggage compartment, subtly beautiful marker lights with LED filling, exhaust pipes with nozzles integrated into the slots of the rear bumper.

Audi A4 allroad presents German manufacturer in the European class D, and the car defends the honor of the company from Ingolstadt in the highest premium segment class, where the design and equipment of the cabin must comply the highest quality. With car interior full order, starting from the layout of the cabin and the quality of the materials used for finishing, ending with the rich equipment of functions and systems that ensure the safety, comfort and entertainment of the driver and passengers.

The interior of the Audi A4 allroad quattro exactly repeats the interior decoration of the Audi A4 Avant station wagon, the same huge selection options for front seats and various steering wheels, a wide range of fabric and leather upholstery, decorative inserts made of wood, aluminum, soft plastic texture. Driver and front passenger given a lot free space, a wide range of seat adjustments and an exemplary design of the highly ergonomic front of the cabin and dashboard.

Once again, we will not bother readers with a list of all the chips available for installation in a car, the only pity is that the main part of the equipment is offered only for a surcharge as an option. For rear passengers places are in short supply, only two will be able to comfortably settle down, the third is clearly superfluous. The dimensions of the luggage compartment from 490 liters in the presence of riders on rear seats can be increased to 1430 liters by lowering the backrests of the second row.

Specifications Audi A4 allroad 2013 release: exterior design and interior design look representative and expensive, but the most important thing is hidden from the eyes of onlookers and car owners.

  • The bright Audi A4 allroad quattro in Russia is offered with only one version of the petrol four-cylinder TFSI 2.0-liter engine (211 hp).

All engine power is transmitted to the wheels through 6 manual transmissions (7 S tronic automatic transmissions with two clutches), the proprietary quattro permanent all-wheel drive system with a self-locking center differential and torque redistribution is available by default. The presence of all-wheel drive, a powerful engine and fast gearboxes allows you to dial the first 100 mph in 6.8 seconds, maximum speed 230 mph. Passport expense fuel ranges from 6.1 (6.3) liters outside the city, to 9.1 (9.0) in city mode.

Test Drive The updated Audi A4 allroad quattro allows us to speak with confidence about the phenomenal and stable behavior of the car on the asphalt road surface. It is interesting, and the reviews of the owners confirm this, that regardless of whether the surface is dry, wet or slippery under the wheels, the car rides, as they say, for all the money paid for it. independent and very rigid suspension, responsive steering, safety electronic systems, informative brakes. Elastic elements running and more energy-intensive shock absorbers than conventional A4 allow you not to slow down when driving through sections of the road with frankly large pits. Off-road, the crossover station wagon is able to go much further than a regular station wagon, but it is better to refrain from storming off-road.

A4 allroad, other than that sold on Russian market A 211-horsepower gasoline engine, it is also equipped with 2.0 TDI (177 hp) diesel engines with 6 manual transmissions and 3.0 TDI (254 hp) with 7 S tronic. Diesel engines are not officially supplied to Russia.

If you want to buy an Audi A4 allroad quattro in Russia, you need to count on a price from 1633.2 thousand rubles for a car with mechanics to 1703.2 thousand rubles for a car with an automatic machine in the initial basic configuration.

Orders for the new Audi A4 allroad quattro started in June 2016. The off-road version can be distinguished from the A4 Avant by the increased ground clearance and protective strips of black unpainted plastic on the sills, wheel arches and bumpers. They are designed to protect paintwork body panels from crushed stone and sand flying from under the wheels in case of movement along dirt road. Also worth noting are the stylish roof rails. They not only give the car a unique look, but also perform an important function, they can be used to install on the roof additional trunk or mount for overall sports equipment. lovers long trips And active species recreation will appreciate this feature.

Dimensions Audi A4 allroad quattro

Audi A4 allroad quattro- station wagon D class, its dimensions are: length 4750 mm, width 1842 mm, height 1493 mm, wheelbase 2818 mm, and the ground clearance will be 175 millimeters. As mentioned above, the ground clearance has been increased so that the car can easily move not only along the asphalt streets of the city and highways, but also easily move in bad road conditions. It is worth noting that despite the increased ground clearance and smart all-wheel drive system, the station wagon is not designed for off-road driving, there are almost no auxiliary systems except for hill start assist.

The trunk of the Audi A4 allroad quattro can please with its spaciousness. With the backrests of the second row seats raised, 430 liters of free space remain behind. This is more than enough for everyday tasks, trips to the mall for shopping or for a visit to the gym with a bulky bag. Test drive 01 December 2017 Invisible premiere

Updated Audi The A4 Allroad Quattro was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show back in 2016. The model has not changed so much, and was it really worth changing something that is already so good? After all, as you know, the best is the enemy of the good. In the sense that deliberate updates to the car can, to put it mildly, spoil it like porridge - excess oils. However, there are changes, and the main ones are in the technical part.

For nimble overtaking, such settings are what you need. The station wagon readily picks up speed and the “robot” with two clutches clearly feels more comfortable with active driving than with a slow flea market in Moscow traffic jams. With sluggish traffic, the box not only gravitates to higher gears for the sake of fuel economy, but also often includes neutral. Gasoline consumption is indeed quite humane, but the volume fuel tank mockingly small - only 58 liters. The route of movement on country roads has to be carefully thought out: you need to refuel often.

The A4 slows down just fine, too: there's always enough brakes, and the short-travel pedal feels like there's plenty of headroom underneath. There are no questions about the steering: a very light, but relatively sharp steering wheel makes the car feel more nimble than it actually is. Feedback wonderful: you can feel how wide tires confidently cling to the asphalt. At the same time, the Allroad leans noticeably: after all, not only the cross-country ability is increased here, but also the center of gravity - and there is no getting away from this.

The deflector in the entire width of the front panel is an original and convenient thing.

The temperature numbers inside the knobs for its adjustment - the idea is almost ingenious

It is convenient to put a hand on a wide and flat selector, and it is not bad in operation.

The steering wheel is comfortable, especially the location and grouping of the buttons on the spokes

Dashboard provides the widest range of customization options

The station wagon's suspension is spring-loaded, and it can be called quite energy-intensive, but the ride could be better. Audi smooths out large irregularities well, allowing even gently sloping speed bumps to pass on the move, but for some reason it diligently notices all minor flaws: it shakes at the joints, itches on a rough surface, shudders in the pits. But in general, the Allroad's handling can even be called reckless: it confidently goes through turns and it is very difficult to derail it from the trajectory.

In autumn, without a frankly slippery surface, it is hardly possible to feel the difference in the operation of quattro ultra and quattro transmissions. Unless it seemed more difficult to put the car into a slip in sharp turns: when overspeeding, the station wagon plows the front end, but does not want to turn the rear axle. It’s probably safer this way, especially for untrained drivers, but it’s no longer possible to make the station wagon obediently dance in controlled slip, as with the old-school quattro.

Whole photoshoot

The sharpest steering wheel makes just over 2.5 turns from lock to lock. It is constantly "filled" with effort, which can be further increased using the car's settings menu called AUDI DRIVE SELECT. At your service - tablet-like 8-inch central display with a great picture, not fading in the sun and not dazzling in the dark. Protruding vertically from the dashboard, it does not play in the slightest. And, although its surface is not touch-sensitive, it is extremely convenient to operate the functions thanks to the joystick and buttons of the MMI system. Only now, after two BMWs, out of habit, I constantly try to find this joystick behind the selector with my hand, and it is in front. Otherwise, the logic of the two "irreconcilable" opponent systems is very similar, I do not find decisive advantages in either one or the other.

But the AUDI DRIVE SELECT function has advantages, but over the “relative” system, which is equipped with Skoda. How is it that the latter, with excellent media display graphics, changes the settings almost nothing in the behavior of the car? Well, yes, when you select the ECO position in response to the addition of “gas”, you will first experience a dip and only then acceleration, and in the sport mode this dip will not be. But in absolute numbers, almost no change! Differences in acceleration time are fractions of a second, which only special devices are capable of capturing, while the driver practically does not.

And now Audi, which, when choosing a sporty setting, simply begins to slip out from under your feet. And so we constantly move with it on the verge of permissible speeds, often stepping over it, and then the electronics further spur the motor. The “weakest” mode loses to the most reckless in acceleration time from 80 to 120 km / h for at least two seconds, and on average, a petrol turbo version with a capacity of 252 liters. With. (for Russia - 249 hp) overcomes this interval in 6 seconds - very quickly! The rate of acceleration of the car from standstill to 100 km / h is approximately the same - 6.1 s.

This engine is the first in terms of power from the gasoline available on this model. The second two-liter develops 190 hp. with., also not without the help of turbocharging. And in the arsenal of the A4 Allroad there are five turbodiesels, three of them are also two-liter, with a capacity of 150, 163 and 190 hp. s, and two - three-liter (218 and 272 hp). By the magnitude of the test moment petrol car outperforms only the least "strong" diesel engine (370 Nm versus 320), the other versions on heavy fuel have a 400-Nm moment, and the most "main" one has as much as 600 Nm.

Five diesels against two gasoline engines… Seems like, concern VAG has recovered from the dieselgate scandal and is ready to further develop and improve heavy fuel engines. But on the test, we have the A4 Allroad petrol turbo variant, and its thrust, stretched in the range from 1600 to 4500 Nm, will probably not only not yield, but even surpass the capabilities of another diesel engine. In practice, however, I would not particularly count on the lower “edge” of this range, but starting from 2000-2200 Nm, you are guaranteed an excellent pickup. Which is ready to go up to 4500-4800 rpm if you need it.

The car settings menu, including AUDI DRIVE SELECT, is displayed on the 8-inch tablet-like central display with a great picture that does not fade in the sun and is not dazzling in the dark. Protruding vertically from the dashboard, it does not play in the slightest. And, although its surface is not touch-sensitive, it is extremely convenient to operate the functions thanks to the joystick and buttons of the MMI system.

What about the seven-speed "robot"? Only good. You are unlikely to need its manual functions, although they are, and you can implement them both with the help of small paddle shifters, barely noticeable when looking into the cabin, or with the help of the DSG selector itself, which is a powerful multifunctional device. In particular, the P (Parking) button is displayed on it. You can change gears using the selector, like a "rocking chair". Actually, the same goes for changing modes of movement. But it is most convenient during the movement to put the elbow of the right hand on the box-armrest, and the hand - on the wide, like a shelf, selector. These two surfaces are on the same level, which is extremely convenient in long road. And although the controls are almost as ergonomically located in other models, on Audi it is emphasized conveniently thanks to the large area of \u200b\u200bthe upper part of the DSG selector.

Without dirt and "diagonal"

So what happens to our all-wheel drive wagon off-road? Is it worth leaving the asphalt on it, and if so, how far? By by and large, you can drive away from a hard surface at any distance, as long as it is not deep, in every sense of the word. The bottom of the A4 Allroad is flat, without noticeable protruding elements, but it is raised low above the ground, only 175 mm. This is a good clearance for a passenger car, but certainly not for an SUV.

And the overhangs of this car are quite long: front - 894 mm, rear - 1038 mm. But these values are obtained by measurements from the centers of the front and rear wheels. Directly above the road "hang" 520 mm in front and 640 mm in the back (my measurements). In both cases - a decent length. This means that steep bends in the terrain should be treated with reverence. It's easy to "stand up". Silver lining on the lower parts of the front and rear bumper are primarily decorative. Their protective properties are small.

In addition, the driver does not have the opportunity to somehow influence the all-wheel drive transmission. She, as they say, lives her life, redirecting a fraction of the moment to the rear axle at will. But this discretion changes, for a minute, every 10 milliseconds, so that the control of traffic conditions occurs constantly. And now, on the new A4 Allroad Quattro (and there are no non-Quattro off-road station wagons from Audi), two devices instead of one are responsible for adjusting, adjusting to changing conditions. Instead of the Torsen self-locking center differential, the all-wheel drive system uses a Haldex multi-plate clutch with several pairs of friction discs operating in an oil bath. When you feel the slipping of the front wheels, the electronics gives the command to lock the clutches, and the moment begins to be transmitted to the rear wheels. It seems to be a well-known scheme, but now it has received a different execution. So, the clutch “moved” from the body of the rear cross-axle differential to the “exit” from the gearbox, and another cam clutch took its former place. At normal traffic, on front wheel drive, it is open (like the front Haldex clutch) by a compact electric motor, and the rear wheels turn freely. If necessary, transfer traction to the wheels rear axle the electric motor is switched off, a set of springs closes the second clutch, and the right rear wheel is set in motion. This transmission is called quattro ultra.

According to the manufacturer, all-wheel drive is activated by analyzing the readings of a number of sensors, including temperature sensors, so that in cold and hot weather the system is more active and can connect the rear wheels even a little earlier than it needs to be. So to speak, in advance and in order to avoid ... What does this mean for the driver, what does he feel? In addition to the highest stability when driving on primers - in general, nothing. The corporate brochure contains colorful pictures illustrating the mutual work of two clutches, while the juicy multimedia screen in the car does not give out such a desired “cartoon”. And when would you look at it? You can’t tear yourself away from the road, and it is advisable to leave large pits aside. The suspension of an off-road station wagon is stiff, short-stroke, although it rarely comes to breakdowns, bumps on bumps sound unpleasant. But how strictly is the car on the course! Not the slightest attempt to "play" in the direction of the rear axle! Or rather, she, of course, "plays", but almost imperceptibly, solely for course correction. Is it possible to cheat electronics and disrupt rear axle? Something I'm not sure about. There is, of course, the ability to turn off the stabilization system ...

But I disable it elsewhere. I try to overcome down and up pretty steep slope river bank. The A4 Allroad, by the way, has an electronic assistant when driving downhill, and here it works very clearly. We roll down under the chatter of the mechanism almost to the water itself. Will you be able to climb back? It's good that there is room for a little overclocking just in case. Just don't jump at the bend of the slope. We roll it confidently to the middle, and then it occurs to me to stop to see if the car will hold. Yes, it holds on and starts off very confidently, without rolling back ... but road tires lack grip on the sand, slipping begins, to which ESC instantly reacts. I disengage traction control and climb up. I repeat the exercise without stopping on the slope - with an even rate of ascent, even without acceleration, turning off the safety electronics is not required.

A little away from this descent to the water is another, with a longitudinal ditch, washed, apparently, with spring water. The ground is firm, but the bends are significant. I go down as carefully as possible so as not to rest against the front bumper (I remember the size of the overhangs) - and the right rear wheel, driven when the all-wheel drive is turned on, rises into the air. So, no overpass is required to inspect the car from below, and if desired, even feel the powerful aluminum levers. Their appearance inspires confidence in a long service life.

It is believed that with diagonal hanging quattro system ultra will be powerless. Electronic locks front and rear differential(EDL) supposedly are not able to slow down the wheels spinning in the air powerful enough to transfer some of the moment to those with traction. My case was not the most significant in this regard. The ditch went downhill, the car inevitably leaned forward, so the two front wheels were on the ground. Well, next time we will offer him a cooler test.

So, quietly and imperceptibly, without pomp and hype, practically rolled into our lives perfect car- with excellent handling on asphalt, decent off-road behavior and high capacity. Of course, the starting price of a gasoline two-liter 250-horsepower version of 2.7 million rubles can hardly be called "divine", however, among competitors - station wagons off-road- Audi A4 Allroad Quattro (now, let's add, quattro ultra) does not stand out as expensive. And it doesn’t lose in equipment, although the test version unexpectedly lacked a camera rear view and a USB port for listening to audio recordings. Well, this model does not indulge in the spaciousness of the cabin. However, a "close" fit in this case enhances the unity of the driver with the car, adjusts to a special, sporty mood. Together with a strong "two-liter juice" under the hood, this can be a little intoxicating ... or maybe not a little.

The world and American premiere of the new all-wheel drive cross-station wagon Audi A 4 allroad quatro, assembled on the basis of the B9 body, took place during the annual Detroit Auto Show 2016. Audi sedan A4 and station wagon Audi A4 Avant.

Launch of the Audi A 4 allroad quatro all-wheel drive crossover station wagon based on the B9 body

In fact, new cross wagon is an off-road version of the Audi A4, created by increasing the clearance and body kit of the lower perimeter of the body with plastic protective elements. In addition, the SUV received wide wheel arches and high-profile tires. As a result, Olroad compared to basic model acquired a more solid and presentable appearance, while retaining all the advantages of the Audi A4 station wagon.

Appearance

As already noted, in comparison with the base model, the allroad quattro looks more powerful and solid. The front end of the SUV is crowned with a massive chrome grille radiator, bi-xenon front optics with two rows of LED strings and a powerful bumper with built-in air intakes. When viewed from the side of the car, the ground clearance increased by 34 mm compared to the base Audi A4, powerful protective lining of wheel arches and sills, chrome roof rails and light alloy wheel disks size from 17 to 19 inches.

The rear of the SUV is equipped with a plastic bumper with aluminum inserts, which integrates massive nozzles. exhaust system, and LED lights of the original form.

The Audi A 4 allroad is available on the market in 14 color options, the most popular and stylish of which are grey, black, silver, white and brown.

In the basic configuration, Olroad is equipped with xenon headlights with LED inserts for daylight running lights and rear LED indicators. In top versions, the car can be equipped with lighting equipment. Matrix Led and dynamic turn indicators.

What's in the salon?

The interior design of the cross-station wagon is completely identical to the interior of the base Audi A4 model. Thanks to the use of high-quality premium materials, the interior of the car looks attractive and modern. At the same time, special emphasis is placed on high ergonomics and ensuring the comfort of the driver and passengers. Anatomical chairs with multi-level adjustment are located in front, and a three-seater comfortable sofa is provided for passengers in the back row. However, it is worth noting that the presence of a transmission tunnel somewhat reduces the comfort level of a passenger sitting in the middle of the sofa.

Since the sales of the "elevated" Audi in the Russian market will start this autumn, it is difficult to judge in what basic configuration the car will be sold in our country.

In the meantime, it can be noted that, as an option, the SUV can be equipped with a virtual instrument console with a built-in 12.3-inch display, a multimedia center, a luxury Bang & Olufsen audio system, and Audio tablets built into the backs of the front seats. Also, as options, the car can be equipped with modern navigation systems, adaptive cruise control, sensors and sensors for automatic parking, and other equipment that ensures the comfort and safety of an SUV.

The volume of the luggage compartment of the cross-station wagon is 505 liters. It can be increased to 1510 liters by folding the back of the rear sofa.

Outcome

Of course, all the advantages and disadvantages of a new-generation universal all-terrain vehicle will appear during operation, and we can talk about them later. In the meantime, it can be noted that, in comparison with its predecessor, which appeared on the market in 2009, the 2016 Audi A4 allroad quattro has acquired greater presentability, solidity, modern design, style, slightly increased in size, acquired a fairly wide range of economical power units and gearboxes. However, there is also a disturbing fact - the price is too high, and this argument in the current difficult economic conditions can become a major obstacle to successful implementation new cross wagon on the market.
