Long test Opel Insignia Country Tourer: one color, different shades. Opel Insignia Country Tourer - all-rounder Release and cost

“Oh yes, we came to Ireland to test the new Opel diesel! Something invisible! Did they slip something gasoline? That's right, after a considerable time after the start, I remembered that, in theory, I manage something diesel car. Nothing but a sense of duty to the hospitable Opel PR people reminded me of this: the diesel behaves in a completely non-diesel way.

It is not for nothing that Opel minders call their new 2.0 liter CDTI “whispering”: neither at idle nor during intensive acceleration are there manifestations characteristic of such motors. Actually, at any of the speeds achieved during the test, the power unit was not heard in the cabin, the only background was the sound of tires rolling along the road. I liked the “democratic nature” of the diesel engine, which easily forgives low-speed overload in motion: at the same time, you know, there is no traction, the engine grumbles with displeasure, but without jerks pulls our trailer to accelerate from 1,500 rpm.

"Below" the whispering engine, as already mentioned, is dim, but after 2500-3000 rpm they appear clear signs activity. True, after pressing the electronic accelerator, the motor needs a short pause - like a breath before “screaming” for real, showing itself in all its glory after a whisper. By the way, only when spinning up during acceleration, the engine conveys its voice to the passenger compartment, and this sound is both non-diesel and unsportsmanlike - just an ordinary roar of a 2.0-liter internal combustion engine. And what I definitely liked was the economy. After a day of hard driving on the autobahns and winding hills of Ireland's east coast, the flow meter showed a modest 6.7 l/100 km. Thumbs up!

materiel

Opel's new 2.0-litre CDTI is here to fulfill its promise to deliver 17 new engines to the world by 2018. After the 1.3 CDTI and 1.6 CDTI units, this is the third diesel engine promised, and among them it is on this moment is top. Among the differences between the newcomer and its predecessor, the creators name more low consumption fuel and the level of harmful emissions, improved responsiveness to low revs and reduced noise and vibration levels. Who cares, but your humble servant is ready to take off his hat to Opel minders precisely for the last circumstance. (By the way, the motor was created by the international team of the GM Powertrain Development Center in Turin, which included Germans, Italians, and Americans.) If the “opelevites” themselves call this motor “whispering”, then sometimes it seemed that it was completely silent. The greatest reduction in the level of noise and vibrations was achieved in the most "vulnerable" range for a diesel engine - low speeds of 750 - 2500 rpm.

Of course, other characteristics are also "prettier". Compared to its predecessor, power has increased by 4%, and torque, even without Overboost mode, reaches 400 Nm (+ 14%) at 1750-2500 rpm. On a 2.0 CDTI-equipped Opel Insignia, the company's testers achieved a fuel consumption of combined cycle 4.3 l / 100 km, and such important European toxic emissions amounted to only 114 g / km CO2.

A quick overview of technical innovations is as follows:

- a power system with a turbocharger and a variable valve timing system with electronic control for faster response when pressing the accelerator pedal (20% faster);

— system of selective neutralization of exhaust gases BlueInjection to remove nitrogen oxide;

- low-resonant two-piece oil sump;

- single-rotor turbine with an electric connection drive and increased efficiency (+ 20%);

- light four-valve aluminum cylinder head;

— crankshaft with four counterweights to reduce vibration.

Having replaced Vectra in 2008, Insignia is already writing its own history: restyling in 2013 is not only visible retouching, but also a change in the line of engines. And also - the appearance of a version of the all-wheel drive station wagon with an increased clearance of up to 175 mm Insignia Country Tourer in the "clearing", where the Volvo XC70 has been successfully "grazing" for a long time, Subaru Outback and the like.

The application, I must say, is serious, at least in terms of price: starting from 1,741,000 rubles. - a small dirty trick to many direct competitors, given that alternatives ("mechanics") to a 6-speed "automatic" in this case No. For this money there will be a 2-liter turbodiesel (160 hp), a little more expensive (1,806,000 rubles) - petrol turbo engine 1.6 l (170 hp), however, front-wheel drive.

4x4 versions - only with 2-liter engines: the same turbodiesel or its forced up to 195 hp. option, or with the most powerful gasoline 249-horsepower 2-liter unit.

The latter, respectively, the most expensive - 1,976,000 rubles. without options (a 195-horsepower turbodiesel is 20,000 rubles cheaper). The standard equipment of the top-end configuration includes an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential, designed to increase directional stability on the highway and improve off-road flotation.

For its segment, the interior is obscenely sporty and rich. The design of the front is reminiscent of the cockpit of a racing boat. And the quality of the materials is quite premium.

In my opinion...

Opelevsky Country Tourer should not be placed in three-quarters, as in the photographs here, but strictly in profile. Sit down on the bench opposite and get aesthetic pleasure. Beautiful impossible! Kluvast, impetuous - a sedan and is not good for soles. And besides, if you lift the tailgate, it damnably resembles the Saab 900 so dear to the heart. By the way, the driving habits of this station wagon also resurrected the clan of Swedish “rocket cars” of the last generations before bankruptcy. The steering wheel with a thickened rim lying in the hand is superbly comfortable, the “thoroughbred” dense running gear, brakes that are clear without a shadow of lethargy ... And how assertive the turbo engine is when accelerating a heavy car!

In my opinion...

The body kit made of black matte plastic, encircling the car, means that it is ready for off-road trips or at least a primer. But the claimed ground clearance for the Insignia Country Tourer is 175mm. That's just 15mm more than the regular Insignia Sports Tourer wagon. However, even this modest figure is hard to believe - except to tear off the skirt under the front bumper. But, I believe, this will happen anyway at the very first exit from the asphalt, because with a car length of almost 5 m and with such overhangs, you can not even remember about geometric cross-country ability. Volvo XC70 and Subaru Outback with a clearance of 210 and 200 mm, respectively, are much more preferable for owners of a summer cottage in a godforsaken outback. The main trump card of the “lifted” Insignia is four-wheel drive. Together with excellent handling, it fully reveals the character of the car in the rain or on winter road. True, there is almost no difference in the operation of shock absorbers in the Sport and Tour modes - apparently, the considerable weight of the car affects. In the end it's just convenient practical station wagon that is pleasant to drive. Only one tailgate opener different height what is it worth! Although it's a shame that in the city you can not hang the front bumper over any curb.

In my opinion...

In the kaleidoscope of test vehicles, few really stand out. So, Insignia Country Tourer succeeded. Despite the fact that I am not a fan of Opel, any obvious shortcomings in behavior on the road or equipment within the framework of the price and purpose of this model, I did not find it. Everything is more than worthy: it looks and rides richer than you expect. Yes, and ergonomic progress compared to the pre-styling Insignia is obvious. There, I was annoyed to no small extent by the center console with a huge number of small buttons that were difficult to hit blindly. Apparently, I'm not the only one so fastidious, and now the Insignia has quite sane climate control panels and multimedia. But the main thing, perhaps, is not this. A wide range of adjustments of the driver's seat, its shape and padding density make it really comfortable to sit behind the wheel for a long time, which is important on long road trips.

As for driving performance, everything is very balanced here. Quite a rather big car unexpectedly easily follows the informative gas pedal, accurately “writes” the trajectory set by the steering wheel on a high-speed arc, but at the same time practically does not make the driver “sweat” when driving. The process of driving occurs as if by itself, and even road bumps thanks to a comfortable energy-intensive suspension, they remain in a different reality, outside the cabin. So is everything perfect? Of course not. There would be a car, but there is always something to complain about. In this case, you don't want to do it. In general, I liked this car as it is, and I forgive her little things ...

Outcome

The heirs of Adam Opel do not eat their bread in vain and honor the precepts of the founder of the brand. Opel Insignia Country Tourer one more bright to that proof - this car is made with care for the driver and passengers. And this, perhaps, is more important than the brand's super prestige, expensive "show-offs" and the manufacturer's desire to make it the coolest. In this case, the key word is "balance". This is very worthy driving performance, comfort, design, level of equipment and materials. Price and then, against the background of competitors, sane, although there is no need to talk about wide availability.

This is a huge all-wheel drive diesel station wagon with decorative "all-terrain" plastic around the perimeter, ultra-low ground clearance, chic all-wheel drive transmission with an active rear differential, excellent handling and very high quality interior trim. You probably have a question - why do you need four-wheel drive without clearance?

Let's figure this out together. Go!

2. Opel cars are first and foremost design. It is bad that in the pursuit of a beautiful appearance, the functional characteristics of the car are lost. The lowered roof looks stylish, but it's about as inconvenient as a narrow opening. luggage compartment. With an overall length of almost 5 meters, the luggage compartment here is of a very modest size.

3. Do you know what curb weight the diesel Country Tourer has? If you add one bag of cement to the trunk, exactly 2 tons will come out. And it's not frame SUV, it's normal passenger station wagon. Knowledge of the mass will be useful to us further, remember this nuance.

4. I will not measure the ground clearance with a tape measure and compare it with passport data: see for yourself. Enough to drive on asphalt. On the ground - carefully and carefully. It will be possible to rest the wheels against the curb only if this curb is laid with three layers of new asphalt.

5. Such a low ground clearance is completely contrary to the stylish "all-terrain" body kit. Maybe it is needed so that in the event of a collision with an obstacle, it is first of all damaged plastic body kit rather than metal body parts?

6. The interior looks expensive and high quality. Black headlining, soft-touch leather, use of scented plastics like on cars premium segment. Very comfortable sports seats with developed lateral support and a retractable stop under the knees.

7. On the second row free space far less. The backs of the seats are heavily littered back (remember the slope of the roof) - tall passengers will not like it here.

8. Sad mouth of the luggage compartment with a gigantic lid (minus 20 centimeters of depth). Because working rear optics remained on the lid - duplicate lights are installed in the opening itself (a similar design is used on Audi Q-series). The width of the opening as a whole is quite modest, the same applies to height. Undoubtedly, in comparison with the sedan, the luggage compartment is larger here, but its practicality is in doubt. Looking ahead, I also note that with diagonal hanging, close back door the electric drive will not be able to do it on its own, the body warps a little.

9. The power unit is a two-liter, almost two hundred strong, diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission. The motor itself is quite noisy, and being wound up attracts the attention of others in a quiet courtyard. But thanks excellent sound insulation it is completely inaudible inside. On the go, it is pleasant if it is possible to dose acceleration, provides good dynamics when overtaking and has excellent fuel efficiency (less than 10 liters per 100 km in the city fits easily) - once again, remember the mass of our test subject.

10. With regard to manageability and exchange rate stability. As you may have guessed, moving a two-ton, five-meter-long car off course, which literally clings to the asphalt with its exhaust system, is an impossible task. The car is coming like on rails and sometimes there can be a deceptive feeling of permissiveness. Banks? No, I didn't. At the same time, the suspension readily swallows even medium-sized pits and does not cause discomfort.

11. As for the interior and interior, traditionally, I have a lot of comments. There are no complaints about the direct control of the car. Excellent visibility forward, disgusting back through salon mirror and microscopic rear glass- This is fine.

12. But the dashboard is meaningless and merciless. With a huge LCD screen high definition, on it the navigation map of so modest size looks like a special mockery. Dashboard generally strange, some of the indicators are displayed on the screen, some remain next to the pointers.

13. In general, a very strange feeling from the interface - I refuse to believe that it was designed by the Germans, the most obsessed with perfectionism in automotive industry. The touch zones for temperature and heated/ventilated seats are the dumbest thing imaginable. The driver always needs to be distracted from the road and visually control the pressure, touch panels do not provide feedback. Heated steering wheel button next to the general climate switch - how many drivers will miss? There is nothing to say about the main screen - 5 menu items in one full row and one more at the bottom. Among them are two items "Phone". What is this? For what? I understand that one item is the phone, and the second phone is the sound source, but what does it do here, and not in the “Audio” item?

14. An even more pointless thing is the touchpad to control the central screen. Clicking on it at least has feedback, but the positioning accuracy and response speed leave much to be desired. It is absolutely impossible to use the touchpad in motion - it is safer to reach the main screen (it is also touch-sensitive).

15. Well, let's not talk about sad things, let's go for a ride over rough terrain. Any diagonal hanging and the two most heavily loaded tires collapse almost the rims.

16. Does the photo look like the car was just parked on a slope? No, it's already hanging diagonally.

17. The most vulnerable point on the bottom is the exhaust system, which runs exactly in the center along the driveshaft. At the back, we can see the 5th generation Haldex clutch along with an active rear differential, which gives a lot of pleasant driving sensations on paved roads. By the way, in sport mode all-wheel drive due to the presence of an active rear differential, Insignia behaves like full car with permanent all-wheel drive and center differential(Which, of course, she doesn't have.) And even capable of spinning in place around the front axle.

18. On the ground, the same active rear differential not particularly willing to help cope with diagonal hanging and transferring moment to a more loaded wheel. In my opinion, electronic imitation of blocking does this much better, but here its activity was noticeably strangled in the hope of an active differential. When trying to start off diagonally, the behavior is very similar to range rover Evoque.

19. In general, you can move around with a high level of comfort on the dense and embossed ground on the Country Tourer. But you need to go around the bumps and in no case drive off the asphalt after the rains - if the two-ton "shed" does not get stuck on the bottom, then at least it will not be able to move on tires covered with mud (Skoda Superb Combi V6 4x4 behaves approximately the same way) .

20. The behavior of the car on roads paved with gravel also deserves a positive assessment - the energy intensity of the suspension is excellent, but you can’t tell right away.

21. Check out the suspension travel on this harmless terrain. Abnormal frosts without snow at the beginning of winter were ideal for riding the Country Tourer in the area. At any other time of the year, there is no chance at all to pass here. Movement on relief terrain is severely limited by the combination of such parameters as ground clearance and wheelbase. On rough terrain, the Country Tourer first of all tries to lie down on the bottom in the center of the wheelbase than to bury its front or rear overhang in the ground. At first, this is very shocking.

The closest competitor of the Country Tourer in terms of parameters is the Audi A4 Allroad. But for the same money, Opel gets a little more than Audi. The Insignia is more spacious, more pleasant to drive and looks much better. Olroad, on the other hand, boasts only a little more ground clearance, which does not play a special role for both cars. no one will ever go off-road on these cars.

As for all-wheel drive, then buying a two-wheel drive car in a country where winter is almost half a year is at least not rational. In winter, you need to drive only on all-wheel drive vehicles.

Review Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018: appearance models, interior, technical characteristics, security systems, prices and equipment. At the end of the article - a video panorama of the model!

Review content:

Early February 2017 Opel introduced the second generation station wagon Opel Insignia Country Tourer, the official debut of which took place in March of the same year as part of the Geneva Motor Show.

In comparison with the first generation, the car received a number of visual changes, an upgraded interior design and a technical component. Moreover, the manufacturer has significantly expanded the list additional equipment available for an additional fee.

Before proceeding to the review, we note that the Country Tourer version is an “all-terrain” version of the Insignia Sports Tourer sports station wagon, which received a lot of positive feedback from ordinary people, as well as among specialized journalists and automotive critics.

Appearance Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018

Despite the fact that the Opel Insignia Country Tourer is a station wagon, the car looks no less stylish and expressive than the Insignia hatchback.

In the front of the body the manufacturer placed spectacular LED headlight optics, a neat false radiator grille and an aerodynamic front bumper with brutal plastic overlays that allow you to instantly identify the Country Tourer version.

Stylish and dynamic station wagon profile attracts the eye with spectacular "splashes" on the sidewalls, expanded wheel arches, a sloping roof line and a spectacularly played window line.

The stern pleases the eye with spectacular parking lights, brutal rear bumper with a pair of exhaust system trapezoids, as well as a stylish spoiler located at the top of the tailgate.

In general, the Sport Tourer modification with all its appearance suggests that the car is able to confidently move not only along the highway, but also along the countryside, which lovers of an active lifestyle will especially appreciate.

The external dimensions of the all-terrain station wagon are:

Length, mm4985
Width, mm1863
Height, mm1500
Wheel base, mm2829
Clearance, mm180

Compared to normal Insignia Tourer the ride height has increased by 20 mm and now stands at 180 mm, which is even more than some crossovers.

Customers are offered a wide range of body colors to choose from., allowing to satisfy the needs of both female and male audiences, and will complement the image with several variations in the design of rims.
