The front suspension of the Skoda Octavia is MacPherson strut. Rear - simplified design: semi-independent, torsion beam. However, the most powerful Octavia 1.8 TSI and RS have a feature - multi-link rear suspension, contributing better comfort and manageability. Compared to the standard liftback, the RS version has a reduced ground clearance of 127 mm (in the standard 153-156 mm) and a rear track extended by 30 mm. It also has a drive mode selector, steering with variable effort and Performance Sound Generator - a system of sound simulation of a sports motor. The 4×4 drive for Octavia with 1.8 TSI engine and DSG6 is based on a multi-plate clutch. Under normal conditions, the main power is transferred to the front wheels, if necessary, traction on the rear axle increases in a split second.
The high safety of the third generation is one of the important trump cards of Octavia.
