    INTRODUCTION

    In 2003, the DaimlerChrysler concern introduced completely new cars that replaced the Vito vans and V-class minibuses that had already become popular by that time. Vans of the second generation inherited the old name - Vito, and minibuses received the name Viano. The family, represented by cargo and cargo-passenger vans, as well as minibuses, received the index W639. For the production of new models, the usable area at the Spanish plant in Vitoria was almost doubled - on the new territory were built: industrial robots, a new paint shop and a new final assembly shop.

    The first conspicuous difference between the second generation Vito and its predecessors is completely new body with smoother and more dynamic lines, a new grille and large, vertically positioned taillights. The new models look more stylish, with both a swift and solid appearance. Design innovations have touched the entire cabin - from the dashboard to various pockets and storage compartments. The volume of the glove box has increased to 11 liters, a compartment has appeared in the upper part of the dashboard that can fit A4 paper, folders or maps highways. The design of the driver's and front passenger's seats provides the possibility of adjustment in the longitudinal direction and in height, as well as the inclination of the backrest and seat cushion.

    Unlike the utilitarian Vito, in which everything is subject to the logic of reasonable sufficiency, in the Viano cabin the emphasis is on comfort and ostentatious luxury. This also applies to the panels, made under the polished wood of expensive species, and the multifunctional steering wheel (Ambiente version), and leather seats, and much more. There are two hatches in the cabin: one is small, the second is almost from half a roof. The quality of the finish and the level of equipment Viano is unrivaled in the class. It is noteworthy that even the richest equipment line provides for expansion through an impressive list of options.

    Initially, cars of the W639 family were delivered in a body with three lengths (Compact - 4748 mm; Long - 4993 mm and Extralong - 5223 mm), two roof designs (low and high, with a usable volume of 4.65 to 6.49 m3, cargo compartment length 2224- 3099 mm). In 2005, there were also modifications with an average roof option.

    Whether the wheelbase is 3200 mm or 3430 mm, the Vito has new sliding side doors that make it much easier to load luggage into the car. The dimensions of the 180° and 270° rear hinged doors of the van, which can be ordered in place of the tailgate, allow for easy loading and unloading. The opening of the luggage compartment between the wheel arches is 1277 mm, you can also place cargo under the front seats, which means an additional 200 mm usable length for any wheelbase. The maximum roof load is 150 kg. Unlike the Vito, the rear door of Viano is not a hinged double-leaf door, but a lifting one - not to order, but in a series.

    The main difference between the new family and the first generation Vito is the design of the cars. If the former Vito and V-Class were front-wheel drive, with a transverse power unit, now the engine and gearbox are located longitudinally, and the drive is rear. The classic layout made it possible to get rid of vibrations on the steering wheel, and also successfully solved the issue passive safety- when frontal collision the power unit, located longitudinally, safely “dives” under the floor without harming passengers. In addition, the problem of the previous generation of cars with front-wheel drive was a clear underload rear wheels(especially on fugons). As power units for the W639 series, engines that meet the Euro IV standard are offered: gasoline, M112 series, with a volume of 3.2 liters and a power of 190 or 218 hp. (depending on the settings) and diesel CDi with the Common Rail system, OM 646 series, with a volume of 2.2 liters (depending on the modification 2.0 CDi or 2.2 CDi, respectively, 107 hp or 148 hp), as well as the series OM 642 3.0 l (204 hp). In 2004, the range of engines was replenished with a petrol M 112 E37 with a volume of 3.7 liters with a power of 231 hp, and in 2007 with a petrol M272 with a volume of 3.5 liters with a power of 258 hp. Compared to the first generation of the Vito/V-Class, the engines are much more dynamic, quieter, more fuel-efficient and, especially in recent times, more environmentally friendly. Diesel engines can be equipped with both a six-speed manual transmission and a five-speed TouchShift “automatic”, while gasoline engines are equipped only with automatic transmissions. New models are equipped with independent suspension of all wheels: front suspension struts McPherson with stabilizer roll stability, rear - coil springs spaced with shock absorbers. The front wheels of the cars are equipped with ventilated disc brakes with a disc diameter of 300 mm. The brakes of the rear wheels are also disc, but with solid discs with a diameter of 296 mm. Because the rear drive entails a more pronounced tendency to skid, the developers have equipped the cars with a number of standard electronic safety systems, such as the automatic dynamics control system vehicle ESP, including anti-lock braking system ABS, traction control ASR, electronic brake force distribution and hydraulic system emergency braking. High safety performance is provided by standard three-point belts safety for all seats, seat belt tensioners on the driver and front passenger seats, and a full-volume driver's airbag. Additionally, a front passenger airbag, side airbags for the front seats, as well as curtain airbags can be installed. Among other things, the reaction of the car in a collision with an obstacle has significantly improved: its strength, rigidity have increased, the characteristics of bending, warping and twisting have improved for all versions. In the front, there are deformable zones that, in the event of a collision, absorb the maximum part of the kinetic energy, and in case of minor accidents, prevent damage to the frame longitudinal beams. In addition, the safety of the vehicle is also ensured by the standard hinges for luggage securing, a system of rails for securing luggage in the cargo compartment of vans, as well as a variety of devices that prevent cargo from shifting, and dividing partitions. A wide range of proposed modifications, a capacious cargo compartment with a flat floor or spacious salon, energy-intensive and durable suspension, handling and maneuverability passenger car, comfort and safety - this is not a complete list of qualities that make M e rce de s Vito and Viano cars popular among car owners. ATTENTION
Do not leave children unattended in the car. They may release the parking brake and endanger themselves and others as this could lead to an accident.

Release the parking brake (1). To do this, pull the handle (2). The indicator lamp in the instrument cluster goes out.

DRIVING OFF

Press the brake pedal. Engage the desired gear (if equipped with a manual transmission) or move the lever automatic transmission control to driving position "D" or "R" (if equipped with an automatic transmission). Slowly release the clutch pedal (if equipped with a manual transmission) or release the brake pedal (if equipped with an automatic transmission). Carefully press the accelerator pedal. After starting off, the car performs automatic central locking. The lock buttons are down.

Note
You can open the door from the inside using the door handle at any time.

TURNING ON THE LIGHT

The light switch is located between the driver's door and the steering wheel.

ATTENTION

Turn the light switch to position.

HIGH LIGHT

Push the combination switch forward. The main beam turns on if the key is inserted into the ignition switch, is in position "1" and the low beam is on. The high beam warning lamp lights up in the instrument cluster. Press the combination switch back. High beam warning lamp in instrument cluster and high beam turn off.

TURN SIGNAL

The combination switch is located on the left side of the steering wheel.

Push the combination switch up (1) or down (2). For small changes in direction of travel, briefly press the switch. The corresponding turn signal flashes three times.

WIPER

SWIPPER ON

Turn the combination switch to the desired position depending on the intensity of the rain.

0 - Wiper off.

I - Intermittent operation (interval depends on the amount of water).

II - Normal mode of operation.

III - Accelerated mode of operation.

Note
If the vehicle is moving at a speed of less than 5 km/h or comes to a stop, the switched on wiper automatically switches to the next lower operating mode level. If the vehicle is again moving at a speed of more than 8 km/h, then the switched on windshield wiper automatically switches to the original mode of operation.

ONE STROKE OF THE WIPER BRUSHES

Briefly press the switch in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure. The windshield wiper performs one movement of the brushes without water from the washer reservoir.

GLASS CLEANING WITH WATER SUPPLY FROM WASHER RESERVOIR

Press the switch in the direction of the arrow (2) shown in the figure, passing the point of resistance. The windshield wiper cleans the glass with the water supply from the washer reservoir.

Note
Switch on the water supply from the windshield washer reservoir also when it rains. This will prevent the formation of streaks on the windshield. Wiper rear window automatically cleans the glass when the windshield wiper is on and the reverse gear is engaged.

REAR WINDOW WIPER

The switch is located on the center console control panel.

Make sure the ignition is on.

Switching on the rear window wiper

Click on the switch at the top (1).

Note
If you open the sliding door or tailgate while the vehicle is stationary, the rear window wiper will stop. As soon as all the rear doors are closed or the vehicle starts moving, the rear window wiper will turn on again.

Switching off the rear window wiper

Click again on the switch at the top (1).

Cleaning windows with water supply from the washer tank

Click on the switch at the top (2). After you release the switch, the wiper will continue to operate for approximately five seconds.

Note
Switch on the water supply from the windshield washer reservoir even when it rains. This will prevent the formation of streaks on the windshield.

CLEANING GLASSES AND WIPER BRUSHES

ATTENTION
The windshield wiper may start working by itself and injure you. Therefore, always remove the key from the ignition before cleaning the windshield or wiper blades.

Pull the wiper blades away from the glass. Install the brushes across. Clean glass and wiper blades with:

soft sponge;

Plentiful amount of water;

Car shampoo.

LOADING RULES

ATTENTION
Secure and place the load in accordance with the loading rules. Otherwise, you may be injured in the event of emergency braking or a sudden change in direction or an accident. This also applies to dismantled seats. Even with strict observance of all loading rules, the presence of cargo increases the risk of injury in the event of an accident.
ATTENTION
While the vehicle is moving, the side sliding doors, the lid/door (option) of the luggage compartment must be closed. Otherwise, exhaust gases may enter the interior of the car, and you may be poisoned.

The dynamic properties of a loaded vehicle depend on the distribution of the load. Therefore, load the vehicle as shown in the figure.

Note
Follow, when loading and transporting cargo, the following instructions:
- total weight of the transported cargo, including passengers, must not exceed the permissible gross gross weight and the permissible axle load of the vehicle.
- Move the heavy load as far forward as possible and place it as low as possible in luggage compartment. Place only light items in the rear additional luggage compartment.
- Do not download luggage compartment above the top edge of the rear seatbacks.
- Always push the load towards the backs of the rear or front seats.
- Carry cargo, if possible, behind unoccupied seats.
- Carry cargo, if possible, in the luggage compartment and with the seat backs up and locked.

Secure your load with fasteners that are strong and durable. Fasteners can be purchased at any Mercedes-Benz dealer. Cover sharp edges with soft material.

LOAD FASTENING

ATTENTION
Do not produce any repair work on the mounting lugs, mounting bolts or attachments and do not modify them. The load being transported or the fastening bolts can come loose unintentionally and cause serious injury or property damage to you or others.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the load is evenly distributed between the lugs. Follow the download rules.

Observe and follow our instructions for securing the load:

Secure the load at the anchor points.

Do not use elastic bands or nets to secure heavy loads. They are designed to prevent only light loads from shifting.

Note
If you use tie-down straps, then use only straps with a permissible minimum tensile force of 60 N and a relative stretch of about 7%.

Load securing (standard)

Attach the lashing devices or lashing straps to the lashing eyes in the luggage compartment.

Load securing (seat rail) (option)

Remove the cover from the seat rail (1). Attach the fastener or fastening strap to the eye of the fastening bolt (2) in the seat rail (1). Mounting bolts

Click down fixing bolt(2) in the provided anchor hole in the seat rail (1). Slide the mounting bolt (2) into the area between the holes in the rail. The side clips snap into place with a characteristic sound in the seat rail. The fixing bolt is rigidly fixed.

Removing the fixing bolts

Press the fixing bolt release button (2) and at the same time pull up the side locks. Slide the fixing bolt (2) into the hole area of ​​the seat rail. Pull up the fixing bolt (2).

ATTACHING THE TIE BELTS

Use lashing straps only to secure cargo to the floor of the luggage compartment.

Pull the load crosswise with the lashing straps as shown in the illustration. Make sure that the load is evenly distributed between the attachment points. Do not overload the lashing eyes if you are using tie downs.

Note
Heavy loads should be additionally secured with a cross bracing.

Luggage options

You can change the luggage compartment according to your needs:

Tilt the back of the rear seat forward into the table position;

Fold the back of the rear seat forward;

Bench seat fold forward;

Remove the rear seat.

NET IN THE CARGO COMPARTMENT (OPTION)

ATTENTION
Do not carry heavy or pointed objects or objects with sharp edges in the luggage net. They can come loose and injure passengers.

LIGHT CARGO SHIPMENT

Hook the luggage net (1) on the holders (3) with the lower hooks. Hook the luggage net (1) with the upper hooks on the side holders (2).

Note
For transporting heavy or solid objects, use suitable means of securing.

SAFETY NET (OPTION)

You can install a safety net in the following places:

Behind the front seats;

In the middle of the car;

At the back of the car.

ATTENTION
The safety net cannot hold a heavy load. So always secure it. Otherwise, loose objects may injure you during emergency braking, a sudden change in direction of travel, or an accident. When the safety net is installed, it is forbidden to occupy the seats behind it.
Note
If you install a safety net behind the front seats, there are two options for attaching it:
- for the fixing eyes in the most forward parts of the seat rails; or
- on the side of the mounting lugs on the B-pillar. If you install a safety net behind the rear row of seats, first remove the luggage cover (option).

Hang the safety net (1) in the upper holders so that the fastening straps point to the rear.

Note
In the seat rails, install the mounting bolts behind the seats as close to the legs as possible. Tighten the fastening straps (3) of the safety net.

Hook the hook (4) of the fastening tape (3) to the fastening eye (5). Swing the tie-down part (2) up. Pull the free ends of the fastening straps (3) downwards in the direction of the arrow until the straps are tensioned. Fold down the clamping part (2) to give the bands their final tension. Reinstall the luggage cover if necessary. Check the tension of the safety net after a short trip. Pull it up if necessary.

DISMANTLING

Remove the lining of the luggage compartment (option), if necessary. Swing the clamping part (2) upwards to loosen the tension of the fastening straps. Unhook the hooks (4) of the fixing straps (3) from the fixing eyes (5). Remove the safety net (1) from the upper holders. Reinstall the luggage compartment trim (option), if necessary. Roll up the luggage net and secure it in the folded position with Velcro.

ADJUSTING THE FRONT SEAT WITH THE SAFETY NET INSTALLED

Fold up the clamping part (3) on the fastening straps to loosen the tension of the safety net. Set the front seat to correct position. Retension the safety net.

ONE PIECE SAFETY GRILLE

The one-piece safety grille must be fixed behind the front seats to the cross member and ceiling with screws.

Dismantling

Loosen the lower fixing screws first.

Loosen the top fixing screws (2) and remove the safety grille. Remove the safety grill.

Insert the safety grille into the fixing points. Insert the top fixing screws (2) and tighten them. Do not overtighten the fixing screws. Insert the bottom fixing screws (2) and tighten them. Tighten them. Tighten the top fixing screws (2).

COMPOSITE SAFETY GRILLE

The composite grille must be fixed behind the front seats to the cross member and ceiling with screws.

First, unscrew the lower fixing screws of one part of the safety grille.

Loosen the upper fixing screws (2) and remove one part of the safety grid. Remove the safety grill. Publishing house "Monolith"

Insert one part of the safety grille into the attachment points. Insert the top fixing screws (2) and tighten them. Do not overtighten the fixing screws. Insert the bottom fixing screws (2) and tighten them. Tighten them. Tighten the top fixing screws (2).

CARGO SHIELD (OPTION)

You can choose not to use the luggage cover if you have installed a third row of seats.

INSTALLING THE LOAD COMPARTMENT CURTAIN

Insert the luggage cover with the holder sleeve into the right holder (2) with the tab turned back. Hold the blind so that the left end of the cover is over the left holder. Press the holder sleeve (1) in the direction of the arrow and let the blind body (3) lock into the holder (2) with a characteristic click.

INSTALLING THE CARGO CURTAIN

Pull the curtain (4) by the tab (6) back through the luggage compartment. Fix the blind (4) in the holders (5) at the rear of the vehicle.

LOAD COMPARTMENT CURTAIN ROLL

Grab the tab (6) and pull it back a little to release it from the holders (5) at the rear of the car. Pull the curtain (4) back slowly until it rolls up.

REMOVING THE LOAD COMPARTMENT CURTAIN

Roll up the curtain (4), if necessary. Press the holder sleeve (1) in the direction of the arrow and remove it upwards from the left holder (2). Remove the luggage cover from the left holder (2).

LOAD LOCKING SYSTEMS (OPTION)

You can install: on the roof - a roof rack system (option), and on the boot lid - a system for carrying a bicycle.

Note
To avoid damage to your vehicle, we recommend that you use only load securing systems that have been tested and approved by the manufacturer.
ATTENTION
If you have installed a load securing system, the dynamic properties of the loaded vehicle may change. As a result, you can put yourself and other people at risk. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. Wrong installed system load securing or load may: loosen, fall and cause injury to you and others. The maximum load on the luggage compartment lid is 95 kg.
ATTENTION
Install railing systems for securing cargo in front of and behind the middle support, respectively. Do not exceed the maximum roof load:
- Rail systems - maximum 100 kg (including rail system);
- Systems with two crossbars, directly on the threaded anchor points in the roof channel, - maximum 100 kg (including load securing system);
- Systems with three crossbars, directly on the threaded anchor points in the roof channel, - maximum 150 kg (including load securing system);
- Vehicles with a high roof - maximum 50 kg (including load securing system). Install the protective caps on the threaded anchor points after removing the roof load securing system.
Note
Manufacturer recommends additional installation tow hitch to one of the stations Mercedes-Benz as the cooling system may need to be modified. The manufacturer recommends that you contact one of the Mercedes-Benz stations, as Mercedes-Benz workshops have the appropriate professional knowledge and have the appropriate equipment at their disposal to perform all necessary work. Unqualified personnel are prohibited from performing service works, especially if these works may affect safety, as well as perform work on systems relevant to safety.

PREPARING FOR HITCH INSTALLATION

Slide the locks (1) in the direction of the arrow. Take out the cover (2) by pulling it down. Place the cover (2) in the right storage compartment in the luggage compartment.

BALL HEAD INSTALLATION

The ball head is located in the right storage compartment in the luggage compartment.

ATTENTION
Mount the ball head with great care, as the safety of the entire road train depends on this. Close the ball head and remove the key. Only in this case the ball head will be fixed and will not be able to be released during the movement. If the ball head does not close, take it out and clean it. If the ball head cannot be installed and closed after cleaning, have a Mercedes-Benz station check the entire trailer hitch. The manufacturer recommends that you contact one of the Mercedes-Benz stations, as the Mercedes-Benz workshop specialists have the appropriate professional knowledge and have the appropriate equipment at their disposal to carry out all the necessary work. Unqualified personnel are prohibited from performing service work, especially if such work may affect safety, or from performing work on safety-relevant systems.

Remove the protective cap (1). Open the lock (2) in the handwheel (3) with the key. The red marking on the ball head holder must match the green area on the flywheel (3) (mounting position). If the red marking does not coincide with the green zone, unlock the lock (2) in the handwheel (3) with the key. Pull out the flywheel (3) and turn the red marking into the green zone until the flywheel (3) clicks into place.

Insert the ball head vertically into the holder until it clicks into place. The ball head locks automatically. Green marking on the flywheel (3) coincides with the green zone.

Turn the key in the lock to position "2" in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to close the ball head. Remove the key and insert the protective cap (1). Put the key in the ball head compartment and store it there. Dismantling the ball head. If you do not need a tow hitch, it is recommended to remove the ball head.

ATTENTION
When driving with a trailer, the ball head must be locked and the key removed. Otherwise, the ball head, when the car is moving, may cause injury.
Note
If you are not using a trailer, on vehicles equipped with the PARKTRONIC (PTS (option)) system, the ball head must be removed so that the PTS (option) system works correctly, protecting the rear of the car.

REMOVING THE BALL HEAD

If you do not need a tow hitch, it is recommended to remove the ball head.

Remove the protective cap (3). Open the lock (4) in the handwheel (2) with the key. Pull out the flywheel (2) and turn the red marking into the green zone until the flywheel (2) clicks into place. The defect was incomprehensible and elusive, because it was impossible to catch the moment when the microcircuit would burn out, it was impossible to determine or simply assume the reasons for this

What is most interesting: the microcircuit did not burn out completely.

The car continued to work, no external signs indicated that the microcircuit had already burned out. And only if you turn off the car, and then try to start it again - only then it was possible to understand that the microcircuit burned out, because the car did not start: the starter did not turn on.

After that, the control unit did not get in touch, although after turning on the ignition it was heard how the executive mechanisms and power was present on all sensors. Everything seemed to be normal here, there were signs of some kind of life, but there was no launch. Moreover, the microcircuit itself heated up quite strongly.

Applied a proven method: "Cooling". It helped, but for a short time. And at that moment it was possible to achieve communication with the control unit and read the errors. There were errors in communication with other blocks and there was an error in the glow plug control unit.

We started digging in this direction. They removed the block, opened it, and this is what they saw - photo 1054:

In the center you see two fusible inserts, in the photo they are already restored, the section, of course, is selected. To conduct searches, it is better to restore a similar one than to buy a new block. Too expensive and unjustified.

Before installing the control unit in place, we checked the resistance of the glow plugs, through the control channels of which these fuse-links flew out. What turned out: two candles had a resistance of about 1.5 ohms, the other two 4 ohms and 2 ohms. Candles have increased resistance, which is close to a break.

We decided to check in the air, to see, so to speak, live.
Looked. Very surprised: the candles burned completely, from beginning to end . It is "completely", and not only a heating element. Below in the photo is this glow plug:

The glow plugs were replaced, and the situation began to be probed further, in the direction of the malfunction. And so we came to the wiring harness - photo 1049. The photo shows the already repaired and restored wiring harness.

... it's just written: "Remanufactured and repaired wiring harness." But keep in mind that I had to check almost every wire, where it goes, what it goes for, what it is responsible for and in what condition - leave it or restore it ...

As you can see in the photo, the wires were restored with high quality, without twisting. That is, professionally. So the fault lay right here, in the wiring harness. Is it really "simple"? It even becomes somehow uninteresting ... after the "deep electronics" and replacing the microcircuit, it will run into some ordinary wire. Restoring the course of events, it is safe to say that " hands would be torn off by those who once climbed under the hood here and did something with a tourniquet» .

Well, what kind of people? What kind of specialists are these? Is it difficult after some operation to take and restore everything normally?And all that was needed was to fix the wiring harness to special clamps, and not to throw it on the engine. Vibration and friction did their job: the braid frayed and the wires began to periodically close between each other and between the "mass". You will laugh, but the malfunctions did not end there. We look at photo 1107:


Inside this case there is a lot of electronics: motor and gearbox control units, power distribution unit, etc. And when, after eliminating the previous malfunctions, others began to appear, spontaneous, “floating”, not amenable to any logic, then only after numerous checks and analytical miscalculation managed to understand that everything converges in this node.

If you look closely at this node, you can find that it has pronounced "burnouts". If in a simple way, then the "holes" of unknown origin.

And the work of a car diagnostician is connected not only with such a concept as “detection of a malfunction”, but also with such a concept as “analysis of the appearance of a malfunction”. We must always try to understand "why a malfunction could occur." Why:

Firstly, mind training.

And secondly,“Knowledge does not burden” and will subsequently come in handy when determining a malfunction on some other car.

Why could there be such "burnouts"?

A careful examination of the scene helped to come up with an assumption: a regular catalyst is located below this node. And when they cut it out, they most likely worked not with a semi-automatic device, but with an autogenous one and did not take the necessary precautions, did not cover the plastic parts located around with a metal sheet. The temperature is high, sparks - that's what happened two "burnouts" in a plastic case and a lot of "floating" faults.

Automatic headlight control

The exceptions are weather-related visibility restrictions such as fog, snowfall and heavy water spray.

Inclusion automatic mode headlight control: turn the light switch to the auto position. When the ignition key is turned to position "1", the parking light will automatically turn on or off depending on the ambient light conditions. Engine running: If the "Daytime driving light" function is enabled via the on-board computer, the daytime driving light is on. Fuel Reserve Warning Light

ANTI-LOCK BRAKES

DISPLAY FAULTY

1 Electronic anti-skid (ESP) and traction control do not work.
2 After an interruption in the supply voltage (disconnection of the clamps or discharge of the battery), the system must be re-adjusted.
To do this, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock and then back to the straight ahead position - the malfunction indication does not go out.
3 The system is temporarily out of service. The reason for this may be an incomplete self-diagnosis.
After a short run at a speed of more than 20 km/h, the display goes out.
4 If the voltage is too low, the system does not work, for example, if the battery is not being charged.
5 In the event of a malfunction ESP systems the ESP warning light on the center console does not function.
If, in addition, faulty ABS system, engine power may be reduced.
6 Failure of the indication for the system or the system itself.

In the "LIGHTING" menu of the "Individual setting" system, the setting menu "HEADLAMP MODE" can be set to "MANUAL" (Section Multifunction steering wheel, universal display).

It is also possible that the engine oil contains water.

When the indication "TELEAID BATTERY" "VISIT WORKSHOP" appears, the TeleAid system's emergency battery is defective.

If the car's battery fails additionally, for example, due to low voltage, all three main functions of the TeleAid system are violated.

If the exhaust pipe is blocked or sufficient ventilation is not possible, poisonous exhaust gases, especially carbon monoxide, can enter the vehicle. This is possible, for example, in enclosed spaces or if the vehicle is stuck in snow. There is danger to life!

Switch off the independent heating system in enclosed spaces without an extractor fan, such as garages. If the vehicle is stuck in snow and you must leave the independent heating system on, clear the exhaust pipe and the area around the vehicle of snow. Open a window on the windward side of the vehicle to ensure sufficient fresh air.

CAREFULLY

When the independent heating system is switched on, parts of the vehicle, such as exhaust systems, can become very hot. If combustible materials such as leaves, grass or branches come into contact with parts of the exhaust system, these materials can ignite. There is a risk of fire!

Make sure that when the independent heating system is switched on, no combustible materials come into contact with hot parts of the car.

Run the auxiliary heating system for about 10 minutes at least once a month. Otherwise, the auxiliary heating system may be damaged.

Be careful not to block the flow of heated air. Otherwise, the auxiliary heating system will overheat and shut down.

Your vehicle may be equipped with auxiliary water heating. Installation and operation of additional water heating are carried out:

    via the on-board computer and via the auxiliary heating button on the control panel

    using the device remote control additional heating system

The auxiliary heating system operates independently of the engine and complements the vehicle's air conditioning system. The auxiliary heating system heats the air inside the car up to the set temperature.

If your vehicle is equipped with additional water heating, the auxiliary heating also heats up the coolant. This way you protect the engine and save fuel.

The auxiliary heating function of the auxiliary heating system maintains the air conditioning system when the engine is running and the outside temperature is low.

When the interior protection device is on and the auxiliary heating system is on, a false alarm may in some cases be triggered by the sensor of the vehicle interior temperature control system. In such a case, switch off the interior protector or auxiliary heating system.
