Specialized Educational and Scientific Center of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov (SSC MGU) is the leading state educational institution in Russia, working on the program of complete secondary education. The school founded by the outstanding scientist academician A.N. The enrollment of schoolchildren in the 10th and 11th grades of the boarding school named after A.N. Kolmogorov
Every year in March-July, the SASC MSU recruits students to the 10th grade of the boarding school named after A.N. Kolmogorov for the physics and mathematics and chemistry and biology departments and for the 11th grade to the physics and mathematics department. The Department of Chemistry and Biology is represented by specializations in chemistry and biology.
Enrollment in the school is carried out on a competitive basis, according to the results of entrance examinations. The first round of entrance examinations at the SESC MSU is held in approximately 40 regions of Russia from March to May. Each student of the 9th or 10th grade has real opportunities to enter and study at the SESC MSU. Applicants take exams depending on the choice of specialization. Department of Biology
In 2003, on the initiative of Academician V.P. Skulachev, under the auspices of the Faculty of Bioinformatics and Bioengineering of Moscow State University, a biological class was organized.
The development of modern science and new science-intensive technologies, primarily bioinformatics and bioengineering, pose new challenges for education. The biological class at the SASC was created to work with children who are capable of natural science, to solve the problem of teaching modern biology in high school; development of new programs and approaches to train personnel for innovative technologies, as well as scientific activities in the field of modern biology.
Currently, the SOSC bioclass is the only one in Russia with advanced training simultaneously in biology (with an emphasis on molecular biology and biochemistry), in chemistry (with an emphasis on obtaining research skills in the field of organic chemistry), as well as in physics, mathematics and computer science.
Teaching in the biological class is based on the technology of teaching and research education, therefore, it includes the subject "methodology of scientific research", field practice, research expeditions (Baikal, Ural, White Sea, Karelia, Altai, Transbaikalia). Conducting individual research work for each student is included in the curriculum. For 10 years, scientific works of students have been published in international journals, presented at scientific conferences, at scientific student conferences, and at schoolchildren's conferences. Also, the children have the opportunity to prepare for the Olympiad in Biology, and every year there are winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad in Biology in the class.
In the non-biological classes of the SOSC, biology is 1 hour per week, taught according to textbooks for specialized biological education.
Currently, the department employs 11 people, including 3 doctors of science, 4 candidates of science. Most teachers combine this activity with scientific research in other departments of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov (Faculty of Biology, Research Institute of FCB named after A.N. Belozersky), are published in high-ranking international journals.

Study and science
A distinctive feature of the education system at the SESC MSU is the combination of the best traditions of fundamental education with the early development of individual abilities, creative inclinations, and the ability to navigate independently in the advanced areas of modern science.
The organization of the educational process at the SESC MSU is close to the classical "university" system: lectures, seminars, practical exercises, sessions. This approach allows our graduates, after entering the university, not to experience the problems of "adaptation", through which the bulk of first-year students go through. All teachers of the school are teachers of Moscow State University.
The early development of scientific interests and the involvement of schoolchildren in research activities are traditionally the most important tasks of the boarding school.
To solve them, the SASC MSU has organized many various special courses and scientific seminars. The total time of additional classes is about 70 hours a week, from which the student chooses several in accordance with his scientific interests. Our students take part in Russian and foreign scientific conferences.
A number of competitions for schoolchildren are held on the basis of the SSC MSU: the International Scientific Conference of Schoolchildren "Kolmogorov Readings", the stages of the All-Russian Tournament of Young Physicists, summer and spring subject schools, and much more. Today, the STSC MGU is the leader among Russian schools in terms of the number of laureates of scientific conferences, winners of Olympiads in physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry and astronomy.
Practice shows that over 80%
graduates continue their education at Moscow State University, the rest successfully enter other leading universities of the country. Every year, half of the school's graduates become students ahead of schedule based on the results of the Olympiads. The Academic Council of the school recommends the best students for enrollment in specialized faculties of Moscow State University without entrance exams.
In the Land of Smart Persistent Purposeful
SOSC is not just a school, but a small country that has its own history, holidays and traditions.
All nonresident students, and most of them, live in a hostel. Two dormitories and an educational building make up a single complex located in a picturesque part of Moscow in a separate protected area with a large garden.
Every day, more than 80 people are involved in organizing the life of boarding school students, including class teachers, curators, educators, and doctors. The guys have constant access to computers and the Internet, they can write a letter home by e-mail or get in touch via ICQ.
Here you will find a rich cultural life - theaters, museums, exhibitions, concert halls, hiking trips, sightseeing trips. A wide variety of sports competitions are regularly held.
The boarding school is attended by children from different regions of the country, from families with different levels of income. The SUSC has a system of social support for students: tuition, boarding school accommodation and five meals a day are paid by the university. Parents only partially reimburse the expenses for the maintenance of children in the boarding school: security, medicines, communication services, laundry, etc. School graduates who have achieved success in business allocate funds every year to financially support students. 
How to become a student of Moscow State University
Specialized educational and scientific center (faculty) - boarding school named after A.N. Kolmogorov Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov (SUNTs MGU) was founded in 1988 on the basis of Physics and Mathematics School No. 18 at MSU, established in 1963 by outstanding scientists, academicians A.N. Kolmogorov, I.K. Kikoin and I.G. Petrovsky in order to select and train high school students who have shown an inclination to study mathematics and the natural sciences. Based on the ideas of the founders, the SUSC MSU accepts schoolchildren not only from large cities, but also from the deep regions of Russia.
Classes at the school are held in the form of lectures, seminars, special courses and laboratory and practical work, which are conducted by professors and teachers of natural and humanitarian faculties of Moscow State University, including 12 doctors and 65 candidates of science.
A variety of methods for searching for gifted children, author's educational programs have led to the regular participation and victories of our schoolchildren in Olympiads and participation in scientific conferences of the highest level. Most of the graduates continue their studies at the faculties of Moscow State University (mechanics and mathematics, physics, computational mathematics and cybernetics, chemical, biological, bioengineering and bioinformatics, materials science, etc.).
The educational building and two dormitory buildings of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center of Moscow State University are located in a picturesque place in the Western Administrative District of Moscow. The buildings house classrooms, a lecture hall, cathedral premises, laboratories, bedrooms, medical offices, a canteen, a library, a reading room and a sports hall, where various educational events are held. The school has scientific and creative circles and interest clubs. Students regularly visit exhibitions, museums in Moscow and the Moscow region, and during the holidays they make sightseeing trips around the country and abroad.
