Whole photo session

The sharpest steering wheel makes just over 2.5 turns from lock to lock. It is constantly "filled" with effort, which can be further increased using the car's settings menu called AUDI DRIVE SELECT. At your service - tablet-like 8-inch central display with a great picture, not fading in the sun and not dazzling in the dark. Protruding vertically from the dashboard, it does not play in the slightest. And, although its surface is not touch-sensitive, it is extremely convenient to operate the functions thanks to the joystick and buttons of the MMI system. Only now, after two BMWs, out of habit, I constantly try to find this joystick behind the selector with my hand, and it is in front. Otherwise, the logic of the two "irreconcilable" opponent systems is very similar, I do not find decisive advantages in either one or the other.

But the AUDI DRIVE SELECT function has advantages, but over the “relative” system, which is equipped with Skoda. How is it that in the latter, with excellent multimedia display graphics, changing the settings changes almost nothing in the behavior of the car? Well, yes, when choosing the ECO position in response to the addition of “gas”, you will first experience a dip and only then acceleration, and when sport mode this failure will not occur. But in absolute numbers, almost no change! Differences in acceleration time are fractions of a second, which only special devices are capable of capturing, while the driver practically does not.

And now Audi, which, when choosing a sporty setting, simply begins to slip out from under your feet. And so we constantly move with it on the verge of permissible speeds, often stepping over it, and then the electronics further spur the motor. The “weakest” mode loses to the most reckless one in acceleration time from 80 to 120 km / h for at least two seconds, and on average, a gasoline turbo version with a capacity of 252 liters. With. (for Russia - 249 hp) overcomes this interval in 6 seconds - very quickly! The rate of acceleration of the car from standstill to 100 km / h is approximately the same - 6.1 s.

This engine is the first in terms of power from the gasoline available on this model. The second two-liter develops 190 hp. with., also not without the help of turbocharging. And in the arsenal of the A4 Allroad there are five turbodiesels, three of them are also two-liter, with a capacity of 150, 163 and 190 hp. s, and two - three-liter (218 and 272 hp). In terms of torque, the test gasoline car outperforms only the least “strong” diesel engine (370 Nm versus 320), the other heavy-fuel versions have a 400-Nm moment, and the most “main” one has as much as 600 Nm.

Five diesels against two gasoline engines… Seems like, concern VAG has recovered from the dieselgate scandal and is ready to further develop and improve heavy fuel engines. But on the test, we have the A4 Allroad petrol turbo variant, and its thrust, stretched in the range from 1600 to 4500 Nm, will probably not only not yield, but even surpass the capabilities of another diesel engine. In practice, however, I would not particularly count on the lower “edge” of this range, but starting from 2000-2200 Nm, you are guaranteed an excellent pickup. Which is ready to go up to 4500-4800 rpm if you need it.

The car settings menu, including AUDI DRIVE SELECT, is displayed on the 8-inch tablet-like central display with a great picture that does not fade in the sun and is not dazzling in the dark. Protruding vertically from the dashboard, it does not play in the slightest. And, although its surface is not touch-sensitive, it is extremely convenient to operate the functions thanks to the joystick and buttons of the MMI system.

What about the seven-speed "robot"? Only good. You are unlikely to need its manual functions, although they are, and you can implement them both with the help of small paddle shifters, barely noticeable when looking into the cabin, or with the help of the DSG selector itself, which is a powerful multifunctional device. In particular, the P (Parking) button is displayed on it. You can change gears using the selector, like a "rocking chair". Actually, the same goes for changing modes of movement. But it is most convenient during the movement to put the elbow of the right hand on the box-armrest, and the hand - on the wide, like a shelf, selector. These two surfaces are on the same level, which is extremely convenient on a long journey. And although the controls are almost as ergonomically located in other models, on Audi it is emphasized conveniently thanks to the large area of \u200b\u200bthe upper part of the DSG selector.

Without dirt and "diagonal"

So what happens to our all-wheel drive wagon off-road? Is it worth leaving the asphalt on it, and if so, how far? By and large, you can drive away from a hard surface to any distance, as long as it is not deep, in every sense of the word. The bottom of the A4 Allroad is flat, without noticeable protruding elements, but it is raised low above the ground, only 175 mm. This is a good clearance for a passenger car, but certainly not for an SUV.

And the overhangs of this car are quite long: front - 894 mm, rear - 1038 mm. But these values are obtained by measurements from the centers of the front and rear wheels. Directly above the road "hang" 520 mm in front and 640 mm in the back (my measurements). In both cases - a decent length. This means that steep bends in the terrain should be treated with reverence. It's easy to "stand up". Silver lining on the lower parts of the front and rear bumper are primarily decorative. Their protective properties are small.

In addition, the driver does not have the opportunity to influence in any way all-wheel drive transmission. She, as they say, lives her life, redirecting a fraction of the moment to the rear axle at will. But this discretion changes, for a minute, every 10 milliseconds, so that the control of traffic conditions occurs constantly. And now, on the new A4 Allroad Quattro (and there are no non-Quattro off-road station wagons from Audi), two devices instead of one are responsible for adjusting, adjusting to changing conditions. Instead of a Torsen self-locking center differential in the system all-wheel drive a Haldex multi-plate clutch is used with several pairs of friction discs operating in an oil "bath". When you feel the slipping of the front wheels, the electronics gives the command to lock the clutches, and the moment begins to be transmitted to the rear wheels. It seems to be a well-known scheme, but now it has received a different execution. So, the clutch “moved” from the body of the rear cross-axle differential to the “exit” from the gearbox, and another cam clutch took its former place. At normal traffic, on front wheel drive, it is open (like the front Haldex clutch) by a compact electric motor, and the rear wheels turn freely. If necessary, transfer traction to the wheels rear axle the electric motor is turned off, a set of springs closes the second clutch, and the right rear wheel. This transmission is called quattro ultra.

According to the manufacturer, all-wheel drive is activated by analyzing the readings of a number of sensors, including temperature sensors, so that in cold and hot weather the system is more active and can connect the rear wheels even a little earlier than it needs to be. So to speak, in advance and in order to avoid ... What does this mean for the driver, what does he feel? In addition to the highest stability when driving on primers - in general, nothing. The corporate brochure contains colorful pictures illustrating the mutual work of two clutches, while the juicy multimedia screen in the car does not give out such a desired “cartoon”. And when would you look at it? You can’t tear yourself away from the road, and it is advisable to leave large pits aside. The suspension of an off-road station wagon is stiff, short-stroke, although it rarely comes to breakdowns, bumps on bumps sound unpleasant. But how strictly is the car on the course! Not the slightest attempt to "play" in the direction of the rear axle! Or rather, she, of course, "plays", but almost imperceptibly, solely for course correction. Is it possible to deceive the electronics and disrupt the rear axle? Something I'm not sure about. There is, of course, the ability to turn off the stabilization system ...

But I disable it elsewhere. I try to overcome the rather steep slope of the river bank down and up. The A4 Allroad, by the way, has an electronic assistant when driving downhill, and here it works very clearly. We roll down under the chatter of the mechanism almost to the water itself. Will you be able to climb back? It's good that there is room for a little overclocking just in case. Just don't jump at the bend of the slope. We roll it confidently to the middle, and then it occurs to me to stop to see if the car will hold. Yes, it holds on and starts off very confidently, without rolling back ... but road tires lack grip on the sand, slipping begins, to which ESC instantly reacts. I disengage traction control and climb up. I repeat the exercise without stopping on the slope - with an even rate of ascent, even without acceleration, turning off the safety electronics is not required.

A little away from this descent to the water is another, with a longitudinal ditch, washed, apparently, with spring water. The ground is firm, but the bends are significant. I go down as carefully as possible so as not to rest against the front bumper (I remember the size of the overhangs) - and the right rear wheel, driven when the all-wheel drive is turned on, rises into the air. So, no overpass is required to inspect the car from below, and if desired, even feel the powerful aluminum levers. Their appearance inspires confidence in a long service life.

It is believed that with diagonal hanging, the quattro ultra system will be powerless. Electronic front and rear differential locks (EDL) supposedly can't slow down wheels spinning in the air powerful enough to transfer some of the torque to those with traction. My case was not the most significant in this regard. The ditch went downhill, the car inevitably leaned forward, so the two front wheels were on the ground. Well, next time we will offer him a cooler test.

So, quietly and imperceptibly, without pomp and hype, an almost perfect car rolled into our lives - with excellent handling on asphalt, decent behavior outside it and high capacity. Of course, the starting price of a gasoline two-liter 250-horsepower version of 2.7 million rubles can hardly be called "divine", however, among competitors - station wagons off-road- Audi A4 Allroad Quattro (now, let's add, quattro ultra) does not stand out as expensive. And it doesn’t lose in equipment, although the test version unexpectedly lacked a camera rear view and a USB port for listening to audio recordings. Well, this model does not indulge in the spaciousness of the cabin. However, a "close" fit in this case enhances the fusion of the driver with the car, adjusts to a special, sports mode. Together with a strong "two-liter juice" under the hood, this can be a little intoxicating ... or maybe not a little.

The cross-country vehicle will pleasantly surprise you with an updated style and technical characteristics. Even sophisticated consumers of expensive cars will appreciate the unusual model from the Audi A4 line.

The Audi A4 Allroad Quattro was introduced in Detroit 2016. It is based on the five-door Audi A4 Avant B9, which has achieved perfect design and performance. It's worth appreciating all the benefits this car built using modern technologies.

External features of the model

Audi A4 Olroad outwardly suffered several changes. Distinctive feature- enlarged ground clearance by 34 mm, which increases the cross-country ability of the car. The SUV is equipped with a protective body kit throughout the body, in addition, the bumper has a slightly different shape, but this only emphasizes unique style models.

Optics with LED lines pleases the eye. At the same time, the car can be equipped not only with xenon, but also with headlights that look into the turn. Among other cars, it can be identified by new grille radiator, made with vertical ribs, restyling on the roof, aluminum moldings on the sidewalls and rims from the manufacturer.

The photo shows that the car has become noticeably higher, the center of gravity indicators have changed accordingly. The engineers had to widen the track by 20 mm to provide an optimal level of handling.

The basic configuration assumes installation with seven V-shaped beams. But for a separate surcharge, future owners are offered the installation of 19-inch tires. The clearance of the car also depends on this indicator, which increases from 23 to 34 mm, depending on the selected tires. At the same time, whichever option is chosen, it will be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.

SUV Salon

In premium models, saving on finishing materials is not accepted, so the quality of finishing is the highest level. Ergonomic sports style seat with driver's lumbar features and removable headrests. Even the standard seats perfectly fix the driver during maneuvers and sharp turns. At the same time, they are endowed with ventilation.

The new SUV has all the "buns" of the family, to which you can attribute a virtual instrument panel and multimedia system MMI navigation plus with Internet access according to the LTE standard. At the same time, the installed on-board computer gives hints - what speed to set, when it is worth closing the windows when the climate control is working. The task of the system is to help the driver, to remind them of responsibility.

On average, 30% of fuel consumption directly depends on the driving style. The center console of the car is located towards the driver at an angle of 8 degrees, which allows you to control everything. The fifth door in the basic configuration is equipped with an electric drive.

A distinctive feature of this model is the aluminum lining at the thresholds. In addition, a first-aid kit is located in the armrest to save space, there are special cup holders for coffee. The steering wheel is also not made standard with wood inserts.

The presented functionality on the instrument panel allows you to relax and enjoy the road - this is seat heating, a lane control system, steering wheel controls, an assistant when changing lanes, adaptive cruise control. To ensure security, one cannot do without modern ABS systems and ESP.

Audi A4 Allroad has a very spacious luggage compartment of 490 liters. in addition, it is also convenient due to the flat floor of an almost square shape, as well as the presence of a steel separator and tie-down bands. Such elements allow you to divide the trunk into several zones. A double-sided tray is hidden in the floor, where you can put tools or, say, the same work boots.

Technical features of the model

Owner reviews show that main feature SUV is not in its external new things, but in the use of a new all-wheel drive system. Immediately behind the gearbox is an oil-bath multi-plate clutch, which is equipped with an electric actuator, and this is the basis of the system.

The right semi-axle is divided into two parts by an installed cam clutch. When there is no need for all-wheel drive, then the multi-plate clutch is disconnected from the gearbox.

The developers claim that this solution saves 0.3 liters of fuel per 100 km, so the car is instantly provided with the necessary traction. Technical characteristics will pleasantly surprise any owner, one has only to test the car in the city and beyond.

The SUV boasts the presence of an adaptive suspension with adjustable stiffness, which is especially important for the domestic road surface. Previously, owners were provided with several modes of control electronics - Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual, with the advent of the new model, another mode was added - Offroad.

Presented range of engines

The power unit is presented in several options, for the domestic market a 2-liter model will be available, which produces 252 hp. With. power. The motor will be paired with automatic transmission S tronic with two clutches.

A test drive shows that this combination allows you to accelerate the car to 100 km / h in 6.9 seconds, while the maximum possible speed on the speedometer is 230 km / h.

Diesel will not be delivered yet, but this 2-liter unit has a capacity of 163 or 190 hp. The most powerful unit is equipped with a Tiptronic transmission.

The engineers did not ignore the issue of efficiency and equipped the SUV with a start-stop system, which turns off the engine even during short stops. This mode saves 0.2 liters of fuel per 100 km.

Due to the use of modern developments and technologies, it was possible to achieve a high indicator of controllability and power. Driving an SUV, everyone will appreciate its cross-country ability, with such a car you can safely go on a trip.

The cost of the presented model

In Germany, the price of base model set within 38950 euros. An all-wheel drive wagon with the same engine performance will cost 2,000 euros less. Such a cost will have to be overpaid for an increase in ground clearance, a more perfect appearance and a lot of options, which is quite a reasonable decision.

For such funds, each owner will receive a "workhorse", which also combines style and comfort. Acceptance of orders for this model has already started in 2016, soon this model can be seen on our streets.

Test drives Audi A4 allroad quattro

Test drive 01 December 2017 Invisible premiere

The updated Audi A4 Allroad Quattro was presented at the Detroit Auto Show back in 2016. The model has not changed so much, and was it really worth changing something that is already so good? After all, as you know, the best is the enemy of the good. In the sense that deliberate updates to the car can, to put it mildly, spoil it like porridge - excess oils. However, there are changes, and the main ones are in the technical part.

In Detroit, the Germans introduced a new all-wheel drive station wagon Audi A4 allroad quattro (B9) model year 2016-2017. Auto novelty Audi A4 Allroad Quattro was presented at the Detroit Auto Show 2016 along with related sedan Audi A4 and wagon Audi A4 Avant. After all, the Audi A4 allroad is essentially an off-road version of the station wagon with increased ground clearance and a protective plastic body kit.

It will be possible to buy the new Audi A4 allroad quattro at a price of 44,750 euros. The start of sales of new cars in Russia, according to preliminary information, will begin in the summer of 2016.
Further short review with complete sets, technical characteristics and photos.
If we compare the Audi A4 allroad quattro model with the Audi A4 station wagon, then the novelty looks more solid, although the differences between the two versions are only in details.

At the front, the allroad quattro has a branded grille with chrome vertical bars, new headlights and an original bumper with slotted air intakes.
When examining the car in profile, we immediately notice the ground clearance increased by 34 mm, plastic lining on the thresholds and edges wheel arches, light-alloy wheels R17 with an original design (optionally available wheels R17-R19 from quattro GmbH) and chrome-plated roof rails.
The rear part of the station wagon is equipped with stylish overall lampshades with LED graphics, a neat tailgate and a bumper with exhaust system nozzles integrated into it.

The track of the front and rear wheels is 1578-1566 mm, the length of the front and rear overhang is 894-1038 mm.

Enamel colors for body painting are offered in 14 options, of which the most stylish are: Mythos black (black), Manhattan gray (gray), Glacier white (snow white), Floret silver (silver) and Argus brown (brown).

In base new model Audi A4 Allroad Quattro is equipped with Xenon plus head optics with LED daytime running lights and LED clearance lamps. Optionally available front and rear Matrix LED lighting.

The interior of the Audi A4 allroad model year 2016-2017 is exactly the same as that of the Audi A4 platform, both in terms of finishing materials and an impressive list of additional equipment.

What will be the saturation for the Russian market basic equipment not yet known, but optionally the car will be able to please with a multimedia complex with an 8.3-inch screen, a virtual instrument panel with a 12.3-inch color screen, a Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System premium audio system, Audi tablets mounted in the backs of the front seats for entertainment second row passengers, start/stop function, parking assistant, adaptive cruise control and other modern equipment.

capacity luggage compartment 505 liters in the stowed state and 1510 liters with the backs of the second row folded down, and the all-wheel drive version of the off-road station wagon is capable of towing a trailer weighing no more than 2100 kg.

Specifications new Audi A4 allroad quattro impresses with a variety of diesel and gasoline engines, which offer three types of gearboxes 6MKPP, 8AKPP Tiptronic and 7-speed S tronic.

As standard, the quattro is equipped with an all-wheel drive system with the Audi drive select system (it has five operating modes comfort, auto, dynamic, efficiency, individual and the new Offroad), electromechanical power steering, disc brakes on all wheels, adaptive suspension is optionally available.

Diesel engines:
2.0-liter four-cylinder: 150-horsepower (320 Nm) 163-horsepower (400 Nm) 190-horsepower (400 Nm) and 3.0-liter six-cylinder: 218-horsepower (400 Nm) and 272-horsepower (600 Nm) ) the latter is paired with an 8-speed automatic provides the dynamics of acceleration to the first hundred in 5.5 seconds. Electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h, average fuel consumption of 5.3 liters.
Petrol engines:
2.0-liter 190-horsepower (320 Nm) TFSI and 252-horsepower (370 Nm) TFSI, the latter is paired with a 7-speed S tronic, which accelerates the car to the first hundred in 6.1 seconds (maximum speed 246 km /hour), average consumption fuel 6.4 liters.

The new Audi A4 Allroad Quattro compared to previous version, which debuted in 2009, has grown in size, is more stylish, economical and has more generous base content. The only argument that is not in favor of the new car is its price, which seems to me somewhat overpriced.
