Surprise and indignation begin to ripen in my soul when I look what happens to new cars. Owners of most cars designed after the mid-nineties pay much more for maintenance and repairs than owners of older cars. And this is not because we charge more money for work, but for the following reasons:

  • Modern cars have to be repaired much more often, and replacing many parts is more difficult. For example, you need to remove the subframe to change the stabilizer bushings. From the point of view of serviceability - enchanting nonsense. But it was done on purpose.
  • Spare parts are much more expensive, because many are not sold in parts, but only as a complete unit. On the Jetta, for example, in original catalog bushings front stabilizer are not detailed at all and are not sold separately from the stub.
