Toyota built the first electrochemical generator itself eight years ago. The new fuel cells are more efficient, more productive and lighter, which is why today's mass-produced electricity generator weighs just over 50 kg, occupies 37 liters of space and can produce 115 kW. The new model generator is two and a half times more efficient than the old one.

Tanks for hydrogen Toyota also learned to build itself. The car has two tanks with a volume of 60 liters and a little, each of which can be filled with five kilograms of hydrogen. Tank bodies are made of carbon fiber, plastic and fiberglass reinforced plastic. There are three layers in total. They must withstand pressure up to seven hundred atmospheres and have become lighter and cheaper than the tanks of the previous generation. One of the tanks is located in the trunk, the second - under the rear seat. The cost of the new Mirai sedan in Japan is ¥7.23 million ($60.7 thousand), while the government provides subsidies of $17 thousand to each buyer of such cars in the country.
