Recall that at the end of 2016, 11% fewer new cars were sold in Russia compared to 2015.

According to Denis Eremenko, General Director of PodborAvto, the increase in sales of used cars in Russia is due to the fact that prices for new cars are now quite high, in connection with this, buyers “switch” to the secondary market and make some kind of compromise.

“People might want to buy a new car, but the price is so high that only a used car can afford it. And many do not want to switch to cars of a lower class, ”Yeremenko says to Gazeta.Ru.

At the same time, the expert believes that this statistics is strongly tied to the European one. According to him, completely different brands of cars are liquid in the Russian market of mass cars.

“If we look at the report of European companies for 2016, we will see that the best-selling brand in Europe was Volkswagen. In our country, according to statistics, the best-selling cars are Kia, Hyundai and Lada. Accordingly, on the secondary market, these brands should be the most liquid, ”says Eremenko.

As for such a high liquidity of the Porsche Cayenne, according to the expert, it is primarily due to the depreciation of the ruble and the general rise in the price of premium cars.

“Given that the new car was bought before the fall of the ruble, then in principle this is quite possible. On average, premium cars have risen in price by 30% since 2014. It turns out that over the three years of operation, the car could lose these 30%, but due to the rise in price, the price was compensated. However, this is a unique situation that does not characterize the car as liquid or illiquid,” concluded Eremenko.

This reinforced the trend of shifting customer demand from the new car segment to the used car segment. According to analysts, the ratio of sales cars with mileage to new cars over the past few years has increased respectively from 2:1 to 4:1. At the same time, the secondary car market in Russia is still in its infancy, and the quality of transactions for the sale and purchase of used cars can hardly be called satisfactory. For positive changes in the market, it is necessary to ensure a number of fundamental conditions: legal purity transactions, transparent ownership history, good technical condition machines. And the key to the implementation of such changes should be companies specializing in the purchase and sale of used cars.

As part of this study, experts studied the prices of three-year-old cars, compared them with current prices and made a rating of models taking into account the index of their residual value. The final rating is divided into two groups, one - mass brands (27 brands and 240 models), and the other - premium (15 brands and 143 models). For a more complete study and accurate analysis, all modifications of the models were divided into classes. Thus, the rating of the residual values ​​of cars in the mass segment was compiled on the basis of an analysis of the prices of 23 thousand rubles. various modifications divided into 10 classes. In the segment of premium cars, the sample included 13,000 modifications, which were divided into 7 classes. The final rating included 30 models of the mass segment with the highest residual value and 21 models of the premium segment.

The results of the study show that the most liquid small class car is the Skoda Fabia. In three years, the model has retained 86.4% of its original price. The second and third places in the segment are occupied by Hyundai Solaris (85.7%) and Renault Sandero (85.3%). Among the “golf-class” cars, the best result was shown by the Volkswagen Golf – 92.4% of the price of three years ago. Note that the Volkswagen Golf was the leader in this segment in 2015 as well. Volkswagen Jetta (87.7%) and KIA Cerato(82.8%). Among the middle-class cars, the Mazda6 came out on top with a residual value of 86.6%. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (91.1%) ranked first in the SUV segment, followed by Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (84.7%) and Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (84.4%). The most liquid pickup was the Toyota Hilux, which retained 94.3% of its original price. The top three segment leaders were Volkswagen Amarok (92.7%) and Mitsubishi L200 (79%).
