And yes, the price tag for this large crossover (which, due to many factors, still cannot be called an SUV) costs from 73 thousand dollars.
Chevrolet Tahoe 2015
This car with its minimum price of 47 thousand dollars. already slightly does not fit into the “budget” limited above, but it’s still worth writing about it briefly. This is already a much quieter (albeit full-size) crossover with an average fuel consumption of 10-11 liters per hundred (average combined cycle), an atmospheric 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 and a calm design. There is nothing defiant and flashy in his appearance - he is just big, roomy and moderately family-friendly. The ability to connect to the internal WiFi network complements and confirms this statement.
Korean and Japanese large crossovers
The Asian car market offers more and more every year, but asks ... no, not less. If relatively recently, saying “Korean auto industry”, many only shook their heads dismissively, then the latest crash tests of the latest (and not only) crossovers from South Korea made not only Americans, but also many eminent Europeans twitch their eyebrows in surprise. They are equipped, they are modern, they are safe and they are… interesting. Speaking of the Japanese automobile industry, there is nothing more to say classically: they used to walk "ahead of the rest of the planet", and now they certainly do not plan to retreat from their positions. Therefore, it is not surprising that many models of both Japanese and Korean origin are completely produced on American soil (well, most often for American needs).
Infiniti QX80
One of the most "American" of the Japanese crossovers (according to the editors of our site) - a protruding humpbacked "nose", narrow "eyes" and a massive "body" gives the impression of either a weightlifter or a sumo wrestler. Nevertheless, the price tag is from 70 thousand dollars (in the base), premium materials, quality salon and the abundance of natural wood not only makes you break the last piggy bank, but also regularly finds more and more new admirers. Japanese engineers have worked not only on the appearance, but also on the technical component of the crossover: even the third row of seats is not only comfortable, but also equipped with an electric drive. 4-zone climate control, individual heating of each seat ... We can speak with confidence about the Infiniti QX80: this is a car that is “in the base” equipped much better than many colleagues in the shop, it is likely that something from the price list of options will simply not be built into head.
From the point of view of dynamics, everything is also quite interesting: 6.5 seconds to a hundred from a 5.5-liter 405-horsepower V8, combined with a 7-band automatic. Pretty decent result for a full size all-wheel drive crossover with a body length of 5.3 meters and a weight of 2.8 tons. However, he also has a considerable appetite: in the city he confidently “eats” about 25 liters, on the highway - about 20.
The disadvantages of the Infiniti QX80 include the above voracity and rather large checks in the service.
Nissan Patrol
The basic version of the Japanese almost legend starts from 58 thousand dollars, however, to the unequivocal minuses, we have to note the loss of the classic frame structure of an SUV. Yes now Nissan Patrol- this is not an SUV with amazing survivability, but a glamorous crossover for watching men (hopefully in a good sense of the word). However, this does not affect the spaciousness - a spacious 7-seater cabin and an excellent level of comfort. In the body design of the updated Nissan Patrol, the number of chopped edges has decreased, giving way to smooth curves and soft shapes.

Acura MDX is a full-size Japanese crossover, which is supposedly related to the premium segment (well, or the Acura brand itself is positioned in the world of mother Honda that way). Another representative of the lower bound of our small review- the minimum price for it starts from 46 thousand dollars, however, the choice of equipment and equipment options is quite easy to cross this line. In many respects, this is the first family car with the opportunity to travel with this very family far into nature. The engine is a time-tested 3.5-liter aspirated, the gearbox is automatic, which in total gives a not very low consumption of 15 liters in the city, but the dynamics also show pleasant. Pleasant interior, pleasant equipment with a large set of pre-installed equipment makes many people tip the scales towards the Acura MDX.
And yes, the third row of seats in the Acura MDX is provided rather for show - children of a slender physique will fit there easily and even comfortably, but adults will only have to dream of this comfort.
Lexus GX

There are much more “celebrities” in the ranks of this class: from those already familiar to many, we note, of course, Mercedes-Benz with its Gelik (and, in principle, the entire older model range represented by G, GL, GLE), their competitors from Bavaria (BMW X5 and X6) and Ingolstadt (Audi Q7), let's not forget about sports comrades from Porsche (Macan and Cayenne), the British car industry in the face of Range Rover, the Swedish update of the classic Volvo XC90 ... And of course, for a snack, the absolute leaders of this hit parade money - the new Bentley Bentayga crossover, the new crossover Jaguar F-Pace and some rumors about the future representatives of the elite - crossovers from Rolls Royce, Maybach, Maserati, Lamborghini… But first things first.
Mercedes-Benz G class
The classic "Gelendvagen" in a slightly updated body, motor and interior not so long ago acquired. The fresh Gelik of the 2016 model year has now (as the manufacturer assures) slightly curtailed its appetite without sacrificing power - on the contrary, adding 35 horsepower. The price tag, however, has also changed: in a slightly updated body (in fact, rather a very minor restyling), the minimum price of this SUV starts at 90 thousand euros. Do you want a more powerful 422-horsepower engine instead of a "modest" 245-horsepower one? Please add 25 thousand euros to the amount laid out. Of course, as a separate offer, you can always shell out two or three times more money for the AMG versions of this or that device, the Germans (either from Audi, or from BMW, or from Mercedes) will gladly add to your purchase a lot of not only horsepower , as well as various exclusive and expensive finishing materials. Whether an SUV (albeit expensive initially) is worth its 280 thousand euros is a separate question, but since there is an offer ... there is definitely a demand.
Mercedes-Benz GL-class (now GLS)
A little less pretentious, a little less square and angular - the GL from Mercedes was and is the choice of those who do not need the defiant look of the Gelendvagen, but who also need German quality, and a large saloon, and high permeability. The disadvantages include perhaps the relative "old age" of the model - current generation was not introduced in 2015. Nevertheless, the price tag of 137 thousand, a clearance of 260 mm and acceleration to hundreds in 4.9 seconds (in the AMG version) allows wealthy families to make such a choice.
The obvious shortcomings, perhaps, should be attributed not so much to the voracity of the motor, but to its capriciousness - AI-95, you see, will not be enough for him!
As for the less charged versions, the minimum official price of the MB GL-class starts at 4.85 million rubles - a diesel 3-liter V6 produces 249 hp, all-wheel drive. And for those who do not like compromises, we would advise you to look rather at the 500 version - a gasoline 4.6-liter V8 develops 435 hp .... for 7.15 million rubles. 
However, if you want to buy a new GLS - wait, it has not yet been presented and is only being tested on German roads. The above prices are for the old GL.

Under the abbreviation GLE, now we should understand the “old” M-class from Mercedes - in the current 2015, there was a renaming and minor restyling (both externally and internally, the differences can be counted on the fingers), and in short, the new GLE has become another representative of the German brand with a characteristic "family" appearance: powerful muscular lines of the hood, slanting headlights that go into the wings and a slightly protruding "jaw" of the bumper.
In general, Mercedes GLE is chosen by those who are sick of bavarian bmw X5, and GLE Coupe is actually BMW competitor X6. The price tags are appropriate - from 3.5 million rubles for a version with a regular roof and from 4.55 million rubles - for a sloping roof. Otherwise, the new Mercedes crossovers can be an interesting acquisition for those who want to really stand out as a novelty - there are not so many cars of this level that have been sold so far. And according to the established tradition, no one will hold back those who want to spend extra money on power - AMG versions are well represented in both body types.
BMW X5 and X6
3.33 million and 3.9 million rubles, respectively, for the "five" and "six" in minimum configuration not so many stops, judging by their number in cities. On the other hand, so many not the poorest people will not be so easily mistaken - German quality (if you are lucky with a purebred German) you will feel right away. Otherwise, it is difficult to say something fundamentally new about these crossovers - everything has already been said before.
With regard to engines and costs, the Bavarian brand is also all right - for example, an all-wheel drive version with a 3-liter engine in the city easily manages 11-12 liters of 95 gasoline, and in dynamics, an 8-speed automatic allows, in principle, not to feel the process of gear shifting. By the way, acceleration to hundreds of the X6 with the specified motor takes about 6.4 seconds.
Audi Q7
A lot can be said about the flagship of the Audi crossover line: a new body, an updated appearance with an expressive voluminous radiator grille and narrow headlights, a muscular body and excellent dynamics are combined with excellent handling and eye-pleasing fuel consumption (in the city - only 7.3 liters of diesel fuel per a hundred run, and acceleration to hundreds takes 6.9 seconds).

The price of Bentley Bentayga starts from 220 thousand euros (which at the current exchange rate is about 16 million rubles).
Of the less interesting, it is also worth noting the almost 20-liter fuel consumption in the city (which is not surprising - with a 6-liter W12 under the hood), a maximum speed of 301 km / h (all the palms of other world manufacturers have been killed) and acceleration to hundreds in 4, 1 second.
Jaguar F-Pace
Another handsome crossover presented in Frankfurt excited the public, of course, less than the Bentayga described above, but this is a consequence of the greater “luxury” of the first than the modesty of the second. The Jaguar crossover also has something to brag about: the mass of aluminum in the design (taking into account the size of the crossover is only 1775 kg), the maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h, acceleration to hundreds in 5.5 seconds (in the top configuration with a 3-liter gasoline V6) and with all this splendor, the appetite is only 8.9 liters per 100 km (with the same top-end engine, and with a modest in-line diesel four - 5.3 liters).
