In mid-2017, the car assembly line in the Czech city of Mladá Boleslav gave a start to the life of the six millionth Octavia. The successful strategy of the brand over the past 20 years has allowed the average company to turn into a major international automaker.
The popular new generation liftback was the first in a line of models developed by Skoda already as part of the Volkswagen Group. With the launch of the 2nd generation of this model in 2004, the brand's cars gained worldwide recognition. Today, none of the brands of the Czech automaker is produced in such a volume as the family Octavia.

2019 Skoda Octavia engines
The technical component of the 2019 model has not received updates. Future buyers will be offered a tighter line of powertrains, consisting of nine engines (four diesel versions and five gasoline-powered). Gasoline engines consist of turbocharged varieties, with a capacity of one to two liters, with a capacity of 85 to 180 hp. Four-cylinder diesel turbo engines are a 1.6-liter TDI with 110 or 90 hp, as well as a two-liter TDI with 184 or 150 hp. As well as four turbo diesels: 1.6 TDI (90 hp), 1.6 TDI (110 hp), 2.0 TDI (150 hp) and 2.0 TDI (184 hp). There are three gearboxes to choose from: 6 manual transmissions and two robotic with two clutch discs - 6DSG and 7DSG.

The manufacturer will offer for the 2019 Skoda Yeti five options for gasoline and diesel power units with a volume of 1.6-2.0 liters. All of them, except the base one, are equipped with a turbocharger and comply with the Euro-5 environmental standard. A range of transmissions will also be offered: 5- and 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed automatic transmission, as well as 6- and 7-speed "robot".
New generation Skoda Octavia
The current third generation of the Skoda Octavia compact family car hit the market five years ago, after which it has gone through only one cosmetic update.
Despite its popularity, the already rather outdated car began to noticeably yield to its closest competitors. Therefore, it was quite logical for the manufacturer to make a global update. An all-new fourth-generation model is due out in 2019.
According to data provided by Auto Bild, the design of the upcoming car is already almost completely determined. Its creator was the former director of the Skoda Design division. But do not forget that the car is still in the early stages of development, so any changes and surprises are possible by the time of the official release.
The new Octavia is expected to be 467 cm long, 181.4 cm wide, 146.1 cm high and have a wheelbase of 268.5 cm. free space in the cabin.
The 2019 Skoda Octavia should inherit the latest technology from the Volkswagen Group. The next generation VW Golf arriving at the end of 2018 will have a significant impact here.
The automaker plans to use additional driver assistance systems, including Level 3 autonomous driving, as well as features such as adaptive LED headlights, a virtual display and an advanced voice command system.

A hybrid powertrain is expected, which will combine a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a 75 kW (100.54 horsepower) electric motor to deliver a total output of 252 hp. and 590 Nm of torque.
Crossover Skoda Polar
The release of the new generation of the Skoda Polar mini-crossover has already been announced for the 2019 model year. Upon its release, the car will compete with super minis such as the Juke, Renault Captur and the upcoming Peugeot 2008. This is Skoda's third subcompact SUV. In the hierarchy of the Czech automaker, it will take a place below the new Yeti, which in turn concedes class leadership to the Snowman crossover.
The developers promise that the 2019 Polar model will undergo a major upgrade, both in design and structural elements. For the manufacture of the body will be used modern lightweight materials, so the weight of the novelty will be no more than one ton. The wheels are the same as those of other Skoda crossovers of 2019 - R16 wheels with 215/60 tires.
As for the technical characteristics of the new generation of Polar, there is still little information about them. The range of power units will certainly be revised, but what exactly they will be unknown.

Cross-coupe Skoda Kodiaq GT
Skoda's first crossover coupe will be called the Kodiaq GT. This is evidenced by a leaked review from China, where the crossover will be launched in the 2019 model year.
So far, the car has been positioned only for the Chinese market, but now there are all signs that the GT will still make its way to Europe. Provided that Skoda frees up capacity at one of the actively used production sites - a difficult task, as European sales of other models of the brand are growing.
The new Czech crossover received a rather bold design that matches the current corporate identity of the automaker. It will be based on the modular MEB platform, developed by the parent company Volkswagen, which, among other things, supports electrification.
The closest in design and spirit to the upcoming cross-coupe is the Vision E electric prototype. If it goes into production, then Skoda will be able to prove that not only famous brands like Tesla, Audi or Jaguar, but also enthusiastic brands with less experience like Faraday Future or Nio can create decent and competitive battery vehicles.
The new Kodiaq coupe looks slightly smaller than the base model, but is sleeker and sleeker. The long nose and flatter sloping tailgate add extra charm and a sense of speed. It stands on large wheels placed in neat wheel arches.

Announced for the 2019 model year, the Kodiaq GT off-road coupe, equipped with a base 1.4-liter TSI powertrain with 125 horsepower, will cost approximately 25,500 euros. This is good value for money. The top version has some really great options that are usually found in more expensive models. These include: a modern air conditioning system divided into several zones, a rear-view camera, a special door closer, an innovative automatic parking system, many different sensors, a large number of airbags, a roof with an automatic sunroof, etc. However, it is worth noting that even the cheapest version will have everything you need for comfortable trips over any distance.

Bright and at the same time solid appearance, good technical stuffing, excellent interior equipment, coupled with a fairly liberal price will definitely lead to big sales. This is due, among other things, to the fact that the main rivals are like, etc. will definitely cost significantly more.
The update of the Skoda Octavia A7 (fourth generation), produced since 2013, took place at the beginning of 2017. So the car itself has already been presented (see photo below), and the start of sales in Russia took place April 1, 2017(in Europe, sales began in January). The price is from 940 thousand rubles for the basic package. The assembly was established on the same conveyor in Nizhny Novgorod. For the first time, an all-wheel drive liftback will also be sold (previously, only the station wagon had 4x4 versions).
It is worth mentioning that this is not a new generation of A9 at all, but just a restyling. So, from the photo of the Skoda Octavia of 2018, it can be seen that the liftback borrowed the idea of the front LED optics from the new Kodiaq, divided into blocks in two. But the flagship Superb model for Skoda will “loan” its younger “sister” a radiator grille in its own style, new bumpers, and slightly modified rear LED optics. It is noteworthy that separate headlights will become a feature of this particular family; such a solution will not transfer to other models of the Czech automaker. This will further separate Octavia and Rapid, who were often confused.

According to Josef Kaban, who previously headed the designers of Skoda, the intentions of a serious update of the Octavia's exterior are dictated by its positioning as the "heart of the entire model range" of the brand.
A completely new generation of A9 is expected to appear in 2019.

The price of the new Skoda Octavia 2018 increased by only 16 thousand rubles and amounted to 940 thousand in the basic package. Such a liftback has LED running lights and taillights, front power windows, two airbags, a basic audio system with 4 speakers. True, there is no air conditioning in this configuration.

For the first time, an all-wheel drive liftback was also brought to Russia, the price for it starts from 1 million 561 thousand rubles and it is aggregated without alternative with a 1.8 and DSG6 engine.
Differences between the new Octavia and the old
On the technical side, the updated liftback does not differ from the pre-styling one, apart from the increased rear track width (see below)

As for the technical equipment, the changes did not affect it - as before, the engines that were installed on the previous car will be offered to choose from. In Russia, the engine range begins with aspirated 1.6, which produces a modest 110 hp. (this is the initial configuration of Octavia, its price starts from 940 thousand rubles). The rest of the engines are all turbocharged: 1.4 liters. (150 hp) - from 998 thousand rubles; 1.8 l. (180 hp) - from 1 million 236 thousand rubles; previously, a 2-liter turbodiesel with 150 hp closed the line, but they decided to abandon it. But they brought a liftback with all-wheel drive (1.8 + DSG6), the cost of this version is from 1 million 641 thousand rubles.
They will be integrated, depending on the type, with a manual transmission (5 and 6-speed), a 6-band automatic transmission, and also with a DSG gearbox (robot) with two clutches.
The only change in the restyled model is the extended rear track: it has increased by 20 mm with a beam and by 30 mm with a multi-link, which is installed on powerful modifications (1.8).
The rear end hasn't changed much.

The updated liftback was introduced in Europe in the fall of 2016, but it reached Russia a few months later: Octavia sales started on April 1, 2017.
