In terms of dimensions and proportions, the X70 practically does not differ from its counterpart with a tenth lower serial number. However, there is still a certain difference: with almost the same length, the body of the “seventies” is 30 mm wider and 25 mm higher, and this immediately makes the car somewhat more solid. The wheelbase has also grown by 20 mm. It seems to be a small increase, but the fact that as a result the interior has become more spacious is immediately felt. Particularly pleased with the space on the second row. The ground clearance has also increased. For the X70 it is 196 mm, and for the X60 it is only 179. CVT very beneficial in terms of compactness and fuel economy, but in terms of traction control, this is far from the best best option. But the suspension turned out to be unexpectedly comfortable and energy-intensive, and ten additional horses under the hood, although they will not make a prize trotter out of the X70, will help the car to be perceived as much more dynamic than the X60. Nevertheless, questions remain: after all, in order to assess the trajectory stability or the operation of the proximity warning system, several hundred meters of a dirt track are still not enough. There were no slopes on the track that would have made it possible to check the operation of the assistance system when starting uphill.

The circle on a car with a manual did not add much ... Naturally, in this case, neither the ESP nor the transmission could interfere with the engine control, and I passed the track cleanly, without problems. At the same time, it seemed to me that the suspension on a car with “mechanics” worked harder, with an unpleasant rumble, although this may have been a feature of a particular sample. Nevertheless, the impression as a whole remained quite favorable, and in terms of the overall level of X70, no doubt, it is a cut above X60, and big power engine and ground clearance undoubtedly indicate that on our "directions" the new crossover will feel somewhat better than its predecessor. But to the question of whether all-wheel drive versions will be provided, I received a direct and unambiguous answer: no, the X70 will not have all-wheel drive.

Meet: BMW introduced sibling X1 models - compact crossover X2. The brother is clearly not burdened by the family, but is concerned about a more toned appearance. But if the X4 and X6 models clearly differ from their X3 and X5 donors with a coupe-like silhouette with a smoothly falling roof, then the sportiness of the BMW X2 is not so obvious. For the sake of a sportier image, the height of the crossover has been reduced by 86 mm (1526 mm) compared to the X1 model, the length by 79 mm (4360 mm) and the window sill line has been raised. The volume of the trunk has also decreased - from 505 to 470 liters. But the wheelbase remained intact (2670 mm).
