Today, several dozen models of foreign brands are assembled in our country, and among them are brands from all over the world - the USA, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Japan, China, South Korea. In Kaluga, the production of prestigious Audi sedans is established, in Kaliningrad - their main competitors BMW. Chinese models Brilliance, Lifan and Geely are produced in Cherkessk, and American Fords are produced in Naberezhnye Chelny. At the other end of our country, in Vladivostok, Japanese Mazda and Korean SsangYong are assembled. And this is only a small part of the extensive list of foreign models produced on domestic soil.

Benefits of buying a car made in Russia

What gives a simple motorist the fact that the "foreign car" he is purchasing was made in Russia? Firstly, such models are sold at much more attractive prices - after all, the manufacturer does not have to pay very serious import duties. Secondly, the fact that the car was produced in our country guarantees a high level of service and an uninterrupted supply of spare parts.

Advantages of buying a foreign car assembled in Russia at MAS MOTORS

The showroom of the official dealer "MAS MOTORS" presents most of the foreign cars produced in Russia - from the most prestigious German sedan Audi A6 to budget models of the Chinese brand Brilliance. In our showroom you can see all these cars with your own eyes, at the same time and in one place, compare them and make sure that the cars that are assembled in Russia are in no way inferior to their foreign counterparts coming off the assembly lines of factories located on the historical home of the brand.

automotive history Izhevsk plant began in 1965. But the history of the creation of the IzhMash association began almost three centuries ago. In 1763, a plant for the production of anchors for river and sea vessels was built on the Izh River. In 1807, the Izhevsk Arms Plant was founded. In 1933, the first motorcycles of the Izh brand appeared.
On December 12, 1966, the first Izhevsk Moskvich-408, which was an exact copy of the Moscow one, left the assembly line. At first, components and assemblies were supplied from Moscow.

In December 1967, a new model appeared - Moskvich-412, which already differed from the Moscow base model. The differences were both external and technical. The Izhevsk version had a reinforced body by connecting the front and rear spars into a single whole. Later, all serial 412th Izhs began to be equipped with removable URAL radios, which at that time were considered very reliable and of high quality. This radio had a built-in power supply and could work autonomously, outside the car. URALs were not available for free sale, they were put only on Izhevsk Moskvich. Plus, the Izhevsk 412th Moskvich was distinguished by high build quality and, as a result, was more reliable than the Moscow “twin”. All these advantages made the Izhevsk 412th more attractive to buyers. This model lasted on the assembly line until 1994. (hatchback IZH-2125 was produced until 1997)
In 1968, the first Moskvich-434 van left the assembly line in Izhevsk to carry cargo weighing up to 600 kg.
In 1973, it was replaced by IZH-2715 Heel, which became the most massive Soviet van.

In 1970, IZH-MASH made an attempt to create the world's first parquet SUV. History is cruelly silent about this fact, but it was at IZH-MASH that the idea and the first prototypes were born parquet all-wheel drive SUV or as they say now crossover. .

In 1973, a new model was released - IZH-2125 "Combi", which was created on the basis of Moskvich-412. With the start of production of this model, the word Moskvich disappeared from the name of Izhevsk cars.

In 1984, the Orbita model IZH-2126 appeared. In 2003, it changed its name to ODA. The station wagon was called Fabula. The designers decided to abandon the front-wheel drive that was popular at that time, which was successfully used on the VAZ-2108 and Moskvich-2141 models. However, IZH-2126, unfortunately, did not become a people's car, unlike its predecessors, and it was destined to become the last in the IZH lineup. Attempts to revive it in the early 2000s failed. Changing the name to "Oda" and a partially galvanized body (which all Soviet motorists dreamed of), as well as the release of the Fabula station wagon (based on the new Oda) were already a very belated decision. There was even an all-wheel drive version of the Fabula with an injection engine 1.6 from the VAZ Niva. Not bad, by the way, turned out to be an all-terrain vehicle, and if the designers had worked on the appearance, then it would be quite possible to revive the IZH brand. But it was already 2005 in the yard - cars of foreign automakers for every taste were sold with might and main in the country. It was pointless to compete with them on the old IZH-Orbit (Oda) platform. .

After the completion of the production of IZH-2126, only the heel of IZH-2717, the heir to IZH-2715, remained on the assembly line. Later it was replaced by the new Izhevsk boot IZH-27175, created on the basis of the VAZ-21043. Plus, the conveyor assembly of the Korean KIA Spectra was already in full swing at IzhMash.

In early 2009, at the height of the crisis, IzhMash reduced production volumes. In the spring the situation became almost critical and in August 2009 the plant was declared bankrupt. Over 5,000 employees were made redundant with a two-month benefit However, in September there were reports that it was planned to resume production of Kia Spectra cars. This car was previously known as Kia Sephia (the hatchback was called Kia Shuma) and was produced in South Korea from 1993 to 2004. At the moment, the Izhevsk Automobile Plant belongs to VAZ. In 2014, a pilot batch of the Lada Vesta model was produced at the facilities of IZHmash.

In various cities of Russia, many automotive enterprises operate, many of which are known far beyond its borders. In the list of the most powerful production complexes operating in the field of machine building, one of the first places is occupied by IZHAVTO - a plant in Izhevsk, located on Avtozavodskaya Street.

This enterprise is relatively young - it began its work in 1965. However, during its existence, the Izhevsk Automobile Plant managed to establish itself as a powerful site for the production of cars, which is one of the main ones in Russia. The Izhevsk Automobile Plant incorporates specialized workshops, the work of which together ensures the full cycle of creating a car - from stamping and casting parts to painting, assembly and equipment.

Izhevsk Automobile Plant, whose official website can be easily found on the Internet, constantly updates its product line. This is ensured by the presence of high-tech imported equipment, which makes it possible to automate the process of stamping parts and assembling cars as much as possible. The automobile enterprise of Izhevsk, whose vacancies can be found by phone, has a stamping shop for 37 lines with a total capacity of 300,000 car kits annually. The welding shops of the plant are equipped with modern automated robots of Japanese and German production.

The Izhevsk Automobile Complex, on whose website you can find complete information about it, also has a workshop equipped with twelve painting robots made in Germany. The equipment used allows you to paint the car simultaneously in 20 colors.

In 2012, the IZHAVTO plant began large-scale work to increase the efficiency of the production process, which was based on the Japanese philosophy of "kaizen" - the constant obtaining of the maximum effective result at minimum cost.

Currently, the IZHAVTO automobile plant is actively producing LADA VESTA, created on the LADA B platform.

Sberbank, the main creditor of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant (Izhavto), has chosen the Korean automobile concern Hyundai-Kia as a partner of the enterprise, with which an agreement will be signed on April 13 to resume production at the plant, sources close to the negotiations told RIA Novosti.

Izhevsk Automobile Plant (abbreviated name - OAO IzhAvto) is one of the largest enterprises in Izhevsk.

The history of IzhAvto OJSC began in 1965, when the Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to produce Moskvich-408 passenger cars at the Izhevsk defense enterprise, designed at the Moscow plant named after. Lenin Komsomol.

The first car - "Moskvich-408" with the emblem "IZH" on the radiator - rolled off the assembly line of the automobile plant on the night of December 12, 1966. By the end of the month, 300 cars were assembled, and in May 1967 the 1000th car rolled off the assembly line.

In December 1967, the production of a more advanced Moskvich-412 model began.
Izhevsk Automobile Plant was steadily gaining momentum. Pressing and welding lines equipped with the most sophisticated automation, installations for body painting and many kilometers of conveyor lines were put into operation. By 1971, all the main workshops of the "big" automobile plant were put into operation.

Soon the team submitted for state testing two new car models, fully developed by their design services. These were the five-door hatchback IZH-2125 ("IZH Combi") and the light delivery van IZH-2715.
On October 27, 1977, the millionth car rolled off the assembly line of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant.

In 1984, it passed state tests and received a recommendation for the production of a new basic model IZH 2126 (a five-door hatchback with a traditional rear-wheel drive and a VAZ-2106 engine).

Among the people, it received the name "Orbit", and only in 1999 - the modern official name "Oda". Subsequently, IZH-2717 vans, IZH-27171, IZH-212615 pickups began to be produced on its platform. In 1991, on the basis of the IZH-2126 car, the "station wagon" IZH-21261 Fabula appeared.

The peak of car production at the plant fell on 1988, when about 190 thousand units were produced, but then a decline in production began.

In 2000, control over IzhAvto passed to the SOK financial and industrial group (headquartered in Samara), specializing in the production of cars and auto components, after which the decline in production at the plant was overcome. The production of automobiles more than quadrupled between 1999 and 2006.

In 2000, IzhAvto launched the production of VAZ cars of the classic family. In 2001, the VAZ 2106 model was launched, and in 2002, the VAZ 2043.

In 2003, a cooperation agreement was signed between IzhAvto and Kia Motors Corporation. In March 2004, the first KIA Spectra cars were assembled at the plant from Korean car kits using the SKD assembly method - the so-called. "screwdriver assembly" of large assemblies and parts.

In August 2005, industrial production of KIA Spectra cars under the license of KIA Motors Corporation began at IzhAvto OJSC, in 2006 - the start of production of Kia Rio, in 2007 - the start of SKD assembly of Kia Sorento, in 2008 - the start of serial industrial assembly Kia Sorento.

In 2008, JSC IzhAvto produced Izh-27175, VAZ-2104, assembled Korean Kia (Spectra and Sorento). The capacity of the plant is 220 thousand cars, in 2007 78.8 thousand cars were produced.

Complicated financial difficulties of IzhAvto OJSC began in December 2008, when, firstly, due to the devaluation of the ruble, car kits from the South Korean company Kia Motors rose in price, according to the plant, by 40%. And secondly, the company defaulted on bonds in the amount of about 2 billion rubles. The management pinned great hopes on the purchase of the enterprise by AvtoVAZ, but the latter refused to acquire it.
In April 2009, the media reported that IzhAvto was able to agree with Kia Motors to reduce the price of vehicle kits and intended to launch the conveyor in July 2009. To start the resumption of production, working capital was required in the amount of 500 million rubles, necessary to pay suppliers, including AvtoVAZ.

However, IzhAvto failed to find the necessary amount and the management was forced in May 2009 to stop the conveyor and lay off 2.4 thousand people; before that, the factory staff consisted of 5.33 thousand employees. The rest were sent on unpaid leave.

The SOK group of companies sold IzhAvto shares to the plant itself, creating a cross ownership structure.

JSC "IzhAvto" failed to restructure the debt for 11.3 billion rubles. Having not received support from Sberbank of Russia, the management was forced to initiate bankruptcy proceedings and on August 6, 2009 file a bankruptcy petition with the Arbitration Court of Udmurtia.

The main creditor of the enterprise is the Sberbank of Russia, to which the plant owes 7.74 billion rubles, taken on the security of a controlling stake in IzhAvto. Another motive for declaring bankruptcy was the refusal of the court to satisfy the appeal of IzhAvto in a dispute about the recovery of 201.4 million rubles from it in debt in favor of Orgresbank.

In early June 2009, the court ordered the company to pay the plaintiff 196 million rubles of debt on bonds (which is held by Orgresbank), 484.1 thousand rubles for coupon income and 4.91 million rubles of interest for the use of borrowed funds.

In addition, on August 26, IzhAvto was supposed to fulfill the offer on bonds for 1.2 billion rubles (plus 80 million rubles of coupon income) postponed from December.

On September 4, 2009, the Arbitration Court of the Udmurt Republic recognized the insolvency of IzhAvto OJSC and introduced a monitoring procedure at the automobile plant until March 4, 2010. A temporary manager was also appointed at the enterprise, whose task was to conduct a financial analysis of the company. Rashid Zagidulin, a member of the Kazan non-profit partnership Self-Regulatory Organization Guild of Arbitration Managers, became the winner.

On September 10, 2009, the investigative department of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Ustinovsky District of Izhevsk, based on the results of the audit, opened a criminal case on deliberate bankruptcy (Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

At the end of 2009, Russian Technologies became the owner of about 25% of the shares of IzhAvto through the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant, owned by the state corporation.

On March 4, 2010, the Arbitration Court of the Udmurt Republic decided to introduce an external control procedure at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant. Mikhail Kotov, a member of the Moscow non-profit partnership "National Guild of Arbitration Managers", was appointed the external manager of the plant.

At the beginning of April 2010, IzhAvto's debt amounted to 15 billion rubles. The plant is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, and Sberbank, as the largest creditor (8.25 billion rubles), heads the creditors' committee. Sberbank has a 51% stake in IzhAvto as a pledge. At the end of 2009, Sberbank began issuing mortgage shares for its subsidiary, Sberbank Capital. To save IzhAvto, Sberbank negotiated with the Hyundai Kia alliance and the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad.

According to media reports, Sberbank has chosen the Korean automobile concern Hyundai-Kia as a partner for IzhAvto, with which an agreement is to be signed on April 13, 2010 to resume production at the plant.

Earlier it was reported that Hyundai-Kia proposes to continue assembling Hyundai and Kia models at the car plant according to the tolling scheme, with the subsequent purchase of the entire IzhAvto plant. Hyundai Kia also offered to organize the assembly of several more models of the concern at IzhAvto, in particular the Kia Picanto and the Kia Bongo light truck.

The material was prepared on the basis of information from open sources

IZH (Izhevsk Automobile Plant) is one of the largest enterprises in Izhevsk. All Izh models are in demand due to their low cost and high maintainability.

The history of the IZH automobile brand begins in April 1966, when the decision was made to manufacture cars at the Izhmash plant. The official date of birth of the automobile plant is October 21, 1965, when work began on the preparation of production.

The first car "Moskvich-408" with the emblem "IZH" on the radiator rolled off the assembly line of the automobile plant on December 12, 1966. Until the end of the year, 300 cars were assembled, which was an undoubted achievement for the period of the formation of the Izhevsk "Moskvich". In total, more than 4,000 Moskvich-408 vehicles were manufactured at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant.

The successor to the 408th model was the more advanced Izh-412, released in December 1967. The car retained all the advantages of its predecessor: durability, strength, ease of maintenance. A successful design and reliable components made it possible to create successful racing versions of this car, which repeatedly won in Soviet and foreign competitions. And the improved technical characteristics, combined with a more spacious interior, made the car a real hit in the company's lineup. The release of this model continued until 1999.

The 412th model became the basis for a whole galaxy of cars developed by the designers of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant. First of all, it is worth mentioning the first light delivery van 2715 and the first Soviet five-door hatchback 2125 Kombi.

In 1970, the first domestic all-wheel drive vehicle IZH-5 with an original self-locking differential was developed at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant. A year later, on its basis, the all-wheel drive SUV IZH-14 was designed and produced. Few people know that it was this car that became the prototype of the VAZ Niva. Also, Izhevsk Design Bureau developed front-wheel drive vehicles IZH-13 and 19, which did not go into series for the same reason - the impossibility of unification with the base models of the plant. So, IzhAvto focused on the production of rear-wheel drive cars.

Since 1980, the cars of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant have received a new look and some internal changes - recessed door handles, new sidelights, a radiator grill, front disc brakes, a dual-circuit brake system.

In 1984, the new model 2126 passed state tests, and in 1991 the production of the 2126 Orbita car was put on the conveyor. The model has a five-door hatchback body, traditional rear-wheel drive and is equipped with a VAZ-2106 engine. Since the Orbita trademark was already registered abroad, it was decided to change the name of not only the export version, but also the model intended for the domestic market. Model 2126 cars are now called "Oda".

The 2126's state-of-the-art steering design makes it easy to steer, even when fully loaded, without losing control of the road. The 50/50 folding rear seat allows you to carry long loads. Folding the seat completely, you get a very voluminous luggage compartment. This is especially important when traveling to the country, hunting, fishing. On the pages of our site there are current ads for the sale of this model with photos and contact details of the sellers.

A long break in the development of new models at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant was caused by the economic crisis of the 90s. Stagnation and decline in production was observed until 2000, when there was a change in management and legal status, after which production volumes increased.

One of the first steps on the way to revival was the production of the beloved by many “six” on the premises of the automobile plant, and two years later, the production of the “station wagon” VAZ-2104 was transferred to Izhevsk. The total number of VAZ models assembled in Izhevsk today is more than 250 thousand.

In 2004, OAO IzhAvto ranked second in the Russian Federation in the production of passenger cars after AvtoVAZ. For the period 2000-2004. the volume of production of the enterprise increased almost 4 times, and the market share of the car plant's products increased from 3% to 8%.

In August 2005, the production of its own IZH models, with the exception of the 27175 van based on the VAZ-2104, was discontinued; in December, the production of the VAZ-2106 was also discontinued.

After signing an agreement with the Korean company KIA Motors Corp., on August 22, 2005, a full-scale production of the KIA Spectra car was opened at the facilities of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant. On July 22, 2008, by analogy, the production of the Sorento model started.

The difficult financial difficulties of IzhAvto OJSC began in December 2008, when, due to the devaluation of the ruble, car kits from the South Korean company KIA rose in price, according to the plant, by 40%. In March 2009, production at the enterprise was stopped, and in August of the same year, the company began bankruptcy proceedings.

In the summer of 2011, production of limited runs of Spectra and Sorento models was resumed for several months to fulfill obligations to KIA Motors.

On October 27, 2011, the deal for the purchase of the United Automobile Group (OAG), which owns IzhAvto, was completed by AvtoVAZ. After modernization, it is planned to assemble Lada Granta and several Renault-Nissan models at the plant's facilities.

If you are a fan of the brand, then by registering in a car club, you will have the opportunity to take part in interesting discussions, as well as share your feedback on the manufacturer's models.
