Geely is one of the largest Chinese automobile firms. Its parent company is the multi-profile Geely Holding Group, which was established thirty years ago. The company is located in the city of Hangzhou, the company has 9 factories, all of them are located within the borders of the People's Republic of China. In addition, the brand has a network of universities that train future personnel for the company, and the company also owns a couple of research centers and design studios.
Three years ago, Forbes named Geely as the 19th best brand in Asia, as well as one of the top five hundred most powerful corporations in the world under the Fortune Global 500, and to all this the company is called one of the most innovative. According to data for 2013, Geely produces more than thirty models, for the same year the company's capital was equal to 3.9 billion dollars. Geely history
Founded in 1986 as a refrigerator manufacturer, Geely has grown into a successful privately owned automaker that sells cheap products to domestic Chinese consumers with money borrowed from future owner Li Shufu's family. Geely began manufacturing motorcycles in 1994, taking a leading position in this segment. Car production began after 4 years, and in 2001 Geely received government approval to finally release the first model. In the period from 2006 to 2008, the brand expressed its desire to sell its cars in the EU and US markets, and it presented the achievement of this goal in 2005 at the auto show in Frankfurt, Germany. Next, the company went to Detroit, where they presented several of their products.
Geely made an offer to Ford in mid-2008 for a possible takeover of Volvo Cars. A year later, the Chinese brand was named Volvo's preferred buyer in a deal with the American automaker. The agreement was reached in late March and ended in early August six years ago.
Volvo continues to operate regardless of its new owners, but Geely wants to make the Swedish brand's vehicles more suitable for the Chinese market. The issue of synergy has been practically resolved, the Chinese company can use any product produced by Volvo for its own purposes. In the winter of 2011, it was announced that Geely would start selling its vehicles in the UK by the end of 2012, with the first model, called the Emgrand EC7, becoming an immediate success in the UK market.

The new Geely 2017 car of the series has quite serious similarities with the Geely Emgrand Cross hatchback variant, the models received a common platform, engines, transmission, authentic interior, as well as technical characteristics that have not changed dramatically in the sedan of the new model year. However, if you want to put cars in a row with each other, then you probably won’t believe that both models are brothers in platform, and the point here is not even in a different body type. Of course, Emgrand GL is a four-door sedan, while Emgrand Cross is a hatch with five door openings, and with a rather large 18-centimeter ground clearance. The bottom line is that the new items do not have any common body parts. Compared to a taut, perky, youthful and sporty hatchback, the sedan looks monumental, solid and, probably, visually more expensive. The developers from Geely Automobil gave the four-door car a sedate appearance, which is a bit like the outlines of the larger Geely Emgrand GS9 sedan. From the general description, it's time to analyze the novelty in more detail and you need to start with what immediately catches your eye, right, we are talking about the exterior of the car.
The sedan is equipped with narrower headlights, a compact and neat grille, a massive bumper with elements of LED daytime running lights and massive rectangular fog lights, all of which you can see in the front. From the side, the body of the car looks light and swift, all this happens with the help of a domed roofline that flows down to the compact rear part of the novelty with graceful and smooth movements. Also on the sides you will see a characteristic rib that adorns the inflated surfaces of the wings and doors, a high window sill line and compact lateral windows. Behind the body of the sedan is not devoid of an attractive design and can be said to have received a certain charm in the form of neat and stylish plafonds of parking lights with LED filling, a compact luggage compartment lid with a spoiler stamping and a powerful bumper with the integration of trapezoid nozzles for exhaust pipes into it. If we sum up the results in terms of appearance, then we can say with confidence that the car is elegant, calm, neat and restrained, which, by the way, is very similar to the traditional features of the Chinese character.

Updates to the appearance of the new 2017 Geely car, namely the hatchback, were made in an absolutely identical version with the body of the restyled version of the GS6 sedan. The car is equipped with new main lighting headlights with modern filling in the form of lens optics, LED direction indicators. Also available is a strict and nice-looking radiator grille, a serious and characteristic bumper with LED daytime running lights in the corners and a noticeable air intake, which is strongly emphasized by an elegant chrome insert. The interior of the new hatch has completely new and modern technologies. It is impossible not to mention the model in our review of the new Geely 2017. The serial version of the hatch owes its appearance to the concept model with a hybrid power plant Geely Emgrand Cross PHEV, which was presented at a car show in the Chinese capital two years ago. Then the concept was pleasantly surprised by the original and fresh exterior, modern technological equipment and a hybrid power unit, which had a 90 horsepower gasoline engine, a 55 horsepower electric motor and a 10 kWh battery. Such an installation made it possible to travel 650 kilometers with one refueling, as well as drive 50 kilometers on electric traction, while the dynamics of acceleration from zero to hundreds was 10 seconds, and the maximum speed was 190 kilometers per hour.
Two years later, we can see the Cross model. We note right away that the car is not a crossover, as many have already thought. Review of the new Geely car in 2017, and specifically the model, we will start with the appearance. Judging by the official photos, is it possible to see the entire cabin as a whole, one can only guess what amenities await passengers and the driver, what are the characteristics of the luggage compartment of the crossover and much more, which will undoubtedly come in handy for a full acquaintance with the model. However, there is information that the novelty will receive four configurations, including Standard, it is logical that this is the main assembly. Then comes Comfort, the name hints at possible additional amenities inside the cabin, Luxury, this equipment is clearly with a hint of luxury and the most powerful Flagship, which certainly promises us something new in the power compartment. In the domestic market in China, the car has been sold since March 2016 under the name Bo Yue SUV. Ex-Volvo designer Peter Horbury worked on its appearance. For Geely NL-3, there are three gasoline four-cylinder engines with 16-valve timing and direct-feed technology that meet Euro-5 environmental standards, which are equipped with a 6-speed "mechanics" and front-wheel drive transmission, and 183-horsepower - 6-speed " DSI automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive system, where the rear wheels are connected by the NexTrac multi-plate clutch. Depending on the modification, the crossover accelerates to 185-195 km / h and on average consumes no more than 7.0-8.2 liters of fuel in mixed conditions per “hundred”, but its dynamic capabilities have not yet been officially announced. It is planned to release an atmospheric V-shaped 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 3.5 liters, a power of 270 hp, a torque of 320 Nm.
