Ford fiesta 6th generation. Fiesta and company: choosing a compact budget sedan

Ford fiesta 6th generation. Fiesta and company: choosing a compact budget sedan

The sixth generation of the Fiesta sedan debuted in 2008 at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The place of the premiere was not chosen by chance, because the three-volume vehicle was conceived with a focus on the Chinese market, but later went on sale in North and South America, Australia and some Asian countries, and in the third quarter of 2015 it reached Russia (already updated ).

By the way, the restyled version of the car first “shone” on the stage of the 2015 auto show in Sao Paulo, having changed in a similar vein to the hatchback of the same name, but having received more transformations: the front and rear were redrawn, the interior was improved, and reconfigured steering and suspension, and instead of a 4-band "automatic" they installed a 6-band PowerShift.

The body of the four-door "Fiesta" in front of its shape and design is no different from those on the hatchback: a trapezoidal grille with horizontal bars, complex-shaped optics with LED running lights and a fairly embossed bumper.

From the side, this "Fiesta" is perceived as a compact sports sedan, which is facilitated by a sloping hood, turning into a roof rack heavily littered back, the line of which, in turn, actively falls towards the rear.

The stern of the three-volume model evokes associations with the “older” Ford Mondeo of the 4th generation, and the relationship is most clearly traced in the layout of the lamps and the trunk lid.

The overall length of the sedan is 4407 mm, which is 438 mm more than that of the platform hatchback, according to steel parameters, the models have parity: height and width are 1722 mm and 1495 mm, respectively. The wheelbase of the four-door is 2489 mm, and the clearance does not exceed 140 mm.

The interior of the three-volume Ford Fiesta almost exactly copies the one on the hatchback: comfortable steering wheel with a 3-spoke design, a stylish instrument cluster recessed into the "wells" and an unusual center console with a division into two floors. The high level of performance is supported by high-quality finishing materials, in particular soft plastics, piano lacquer inserts and metal elements.

Formally, the Fiesta sedan has a five-seat interior, but only four will be comfortable. The front row of seats demonstrates a well-thought-out profile with good side support and sufficient adjustment possibilities, and the rear sofa provides the necessary headroom and legroom.

In the arsenal of the sixth generation Fiesta sedan is a roomy luggage compartment, designed to carry 465 liters of luggage. The "hold" has a convenient configuration, the back of the "gallery" is transformed, freeing up volume for the transportation of long lengths, but a flat cargo area is not obtained.

Specifications. On the territory of Russia, the Ford Fiesta Sedan is offered in three petrol versions, equipped with a 1.6-liter 16-valve naturally aspirated engine, which is available in several boost levels.
Depending on the variant, the engine generates:

 • 85 Horse power and 141 Nm of torque,
 • 105 "horses" and 150 Nm of thrust,
 • 120 forces and 152 Nm of peak torque.

There are two gearboxes - a “mechanics” with five steps or a 6-speed “robot” PowerShift with two clutches, the wheels of the front axle are set in motion.

The best performance has a 120-horsepower sedan with manual transmission, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.9 seconds, gaining a “maximum” of 193 km / h. In general, absolute parity with the hatchback of the same name.

The “sixth Fiesta” in the sedan body is structurally similar to the hatch: the B2E platform, independent suspension at the front and semi-independent at the rear, electric power steering, ventilated brake discs on the front wheels and drum mechanisms on the rear (in the “top” versions rear - disc).

Options and prices. In Russia Ford sedan Fiesta 6 (2016) is available to customers in the Ambiente, Trend and Titanium versions at a price of 632,000 rubles. But for that kind of money, the equipment does not shine with any frills: it includes only a pair of front airbags, standard audio preparation for two speakers, steel 15-inch wheels, power steering, ABS, power and heated mirrors and front power windows.
The most “packaged” option cannot be bought cheaper than 900,000 rubles, but it can boast in addition to the above: side airbags, air conditioner, multimedia center SYNC, "music" with six speakers, ESC, HSA, heated front seats, light-alloy "skating rinks", a multifunctional steering wheel and other modern "chips".

great choice for a city dweller. Initially, we have given type The car was perceived as female, but, in recent years, the trend has changed significantly and more and more often you can meet men behind the wheel of this nimble little car. The secret of this success lies in the fact that we are beginning to appreciate the maneuverability, ease of use of the hatchback and low fuel consumption. But how things are with the reliability of the fifth-generation used Ford Fiesta and what to look for when buying such a car in the secondary market, we’ll talk about this now.

A bit of history:

The debut of the first generation Ford Fiesta took place in 1975 at a press conference in Detroit. At that time it was a real breakthrough, because this model became the first to sell well front wheel drive car. In 1983, the second generation of the car was presented to the public. And in 1989, sales of the third generation Fiesta started, which technically practically did not differ from previous version, but had a completely different appearance. In the same year, a five-door hatchback version was also introduced. In 1995, at the auto show in Frankfurt, the premiere took place fourth generation, the novelty received not only a different appearance, but also new suspension and more modern engine « Zetec-SE».

In 1999, a deep restyling was carried out, during which the manufacturer significantly improved the suspension. This decision made the Fiesta not only the most comfortable, but also the best driven machine in class. At the same time, cars with new Zetec engines of 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 liters appeared on the market. The debut of the fifth generation took place in 2008 at the Frankfurt auto show. Compared to the previous generation, the Fiesta 5 has become significantly larger and heavier, and thanks to the increased wheelbase, it was possible to make the car more spacious. In 2003, the division RS a sports version of "" was created. In 2005, the car underwent restyling, as a result of which the optics, radiator grille and bumpers were changed. The sixth generation Ford Fiesta was presented to the public in 2008 as part of the annual auto show in Geneva. This version of the car is produced to this day.

Advantages and disadvantages of Ford Fiesta with mileage

In terms of corrosion resistance and quality paintwork, then it's enough good level, but only on cars up to 2005 of release. Later, the manufacturer began to use water-based paint, which led to a significant deterioration in the quality of the paintwork. So, on cars that were released in 2006 and later, the body is quickly covered with scratches and chips. If you choose a Fiesta after 2005, pay special attention to the trunk lid, especially in the area of the license plate light, where corrosion most often appears. Not famous for its reliability and trunk lock. Quite often you have to change the headlight bulbs, and for this you have to remove the headlights ( design feature ). Also, the protective plastic of the headlight becomes cloudy quite quickly.

Engines

Officially, the Ford Fiesta was delivered to us only with gasoline power units - 1.3 (60 and 70 hp), 1.4 (80 hp) and 1.6 (100 hp). Most weak engine 1.3 is completely unsuitable for long trips, its power is only enough for unhurried movement around the city. As operating experience has shown, this motor is simple, reliable and inexpensive to maintain, plus it has a fairly modest appetite (up to 7 liters per 100 km). The timing is driven by a metal chain, the resource of which is about 200,000 km. The main disadvantage this motor its increased noise during operation is considered.

Engines 1.4 and 1.6 equipped with a belt drive timing, and the valves do not have hydraulic lifters and are regulated by washers. Belt replacement and valve adjustment should be carried out at least once every 80,000 km. The main advantage of these engines is that they easily digest not only the 95th, but also the 92nd gasoline. Cars with a 1.6 engine are the most expensive on the market, since such power units were installed only on the most expensive equipment. Among the common problems, a small resource of the fuel pump can be distinguished ( 60-70 thousand km), also every 70-90 km, a radiator needs to be replaced. If the car has become difficult to start, it's time to change the candles and clean throttle valve. Another significant drawback is officially considered not the maintainability of these engines. That is, after the motor runs out of its resource or, God forbid, it breaks the belt and bends the valves, you will have to change the power unit.

Most often, problems with these engines arise due to the fact that the owners very rarely service them, and the official service interval at 20,000 km. Also, for long and trouble-free operation of engines, it is necessary to constantly monitor the oil level so that it does not fall below the average mark on the dipstick. Only under this condition will the motors last without serious damage up to 300,000 km. In the secondary market, quite rarely, but, nevertheless, there are Fiesta with diesel engine 1.4 (68 hp) and 1.6 (90 hp), as a rule, such cars were imported from Europe. These power units are in no way inferior to gasoline in terms of reliability, their significant disadvantage in that their fuel system quite demanding on the quality of diesel fuel, which, unfortunately, we have a large number of gas stations.

Transmission

Ford Fiesta was equipped with three types of gearboxes - five-speed mechanics, automatic transmission and robotic transmission " Durashift". This model has no obvious problems with the transmission, but nevertheless, the manual transmission has proven to be the most reliable. It has not a small resource, and its clutch, on average, it nurses 100-120 thousand km. Of the weak points of mechanics, one can single out: the current input shaft oil seal, and if the part itself costs a penny, then you will have to pay about 70 USD for the work. Also, semi-axle oil seals are not famous for their durability. If it takes a lot of effort to shift into gear, don't worry, it's just time to clean and lubricate the guide mechanism.

The robot is very reminiscent of mechanics, but electronics are responsible for shifting gears in it, this type of transmission, like automatic transmission, not everyone will like it. The point is that in automatic mode switching occurs with noticeable jerks and dips when sharp acceleration, also, with prolonged movement in traffic jams, this type of transmission overheats quickly enough. Not famous for the robotic box and long term operation, with proper and careful operation, its service life rarely exceeds 120-150 thousand km. Therefore, if there is a choice between a robot and an automatic transmission, then it is better to give preference to the second option.

Features running Ford Fiesta with mileage

Ford Fiesta is equipped with a front independent suspension MacPherson type, a semi-independent beam is installed at the rear. Operating experience has shown that even domestic roads the main suspension elements have proven to be quite hardy. If we talk about performance characteristics and comfort, then in these components the Fiesta suspension deserves only praise. The weakest point of the suspension, as on most cars, are the stabilizer struts and bushings, their resource does not exceed 50,000 thousand km. On average, once every 80,000 km, you will have to change ball joints. A little longer (up to 100,000 km) live wheel bearings, tie rod ends, bushings and CV joints.

shock absorbers, thrust bearings and steering rods are able to last 100-120 thousand km. brake pads, on average, nursed for 50,000 km, drives more than 100,000 km. If an unpleasant creak is heard from the rear suspension while driving, check the condition of the fastening and insulation of the handbrake cable in the area of the rear beam. being treated this problem two turns of electrical tape. The peculiarity of the Fiesta suspension is that the breakdown of any of the parts is not always accompanied by characteristic sounds, therefore, try to call in for chassis diagnostics 2-3 times a year.

Salon

Compared to the sixth generation Ford Fiesta, the interior of the fifth looks slightly archaic and somehow faceless. But, despite the fact that the interior looks rustic, quite high-quality finishing materials are used here. So, for example, the upper part of the dashboard is made of soft plastic. As for soundproofing, there is a suspicion that it simply does not exist here. On electrical equipment, most often there are questions about the reliability of power windows.

Outcome:

- one of the most successful cars the last decade. It is worth recognizing that even today it will be a worthy option for those who are looking for an inexpensive, compact and reliable car with the habits of a car driver.

Advantages:

 • Good handling.
 • Profitability.
 • Low cost of maintenance and repair.
 • Hardy running.

Flaws:

 • Bad soundproofing.
 • Small ground clearance.
 • Rigid suspension.
 • Overheating of the automatic transmission.
Secondary market August 03, 2011 Choosing the right one (Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Volkswagen Polo)

We continue to consider cars of the "B" segment, and this time the guests of our column will be cars of thoroughbred and very popular in Europe Opel Corsa, VW Polo and Ford Fiesta. There they were sold in hundreds of thousands a year, and in Russia their market fate was successful.

Secondary market April 11, 2011 Children of the metropolis (Peugeot 206, Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Getz, Opel Corsa)

When choosing such a car in the secondary market, as a rule, a purely utilitarian question arises at the forefront: how much will its maintenance and operation cost? And not only because such used cars are most often the first in someone's life, but as you know, money on your first car is the hardest to earn.

City slickers (Ford Fiesta, Mercedes-Benz A-class, Opel Corsa, VW Polo) Secondary market

compact cars indispensable in a city where the streets are filled to capacity with traffic, and traffic jams have become commonplace. The main advantages of cars in the "B" segment are modest dimensions necessary for maneuvers and parking, efficiency, as well as low maintenance costs. At the same time, they are spacious and functional enough to qualify for the role. the only car in family. In this issue we will consider models from Germany. Because to all the above-mentioned advantages, they add the very “real German quality”, which guarantees reliability and durability.

Optical illusion (Opel Corsa C, Ford Fiesta, VW Polo) Secondary market

compact machines very popular in European countries, where almost the main criterion for motorists is practicality, before which all other considerations fade into the background. And our compatriots did not even look in the direction of small cars before - it was considered not prestigious to drive them. But recently, when the Russian car fleet has increased many times over and the streets of megacities have been filled to capacity with transport, the demand for small cars has begun to grow rapidly. They attract with their compactness and agility (valuable qualities for maneuvering and parking in crowded cities), efficiency, and low maintenance costs. At the same time, some of them are spacious and functional enough to claim the role of the only car in the family. Such as, for example, the German models "Opel Corsa C" (2000-2006), "Ford Fiesta" and "VW Polo", produced from 2001 to restyling in 2005.

, - one of the most compact sedans on the Russian market. Such cars are valued for the combination of a body type “classically close” to our public and modest dimensions that facilitate maneuvering and parking in cramped yards. Therefore, when choosing “classmates” for the Fiesta, we primarily based on the size, namely, on the length in the range of 4.3–4.4 meters. Of course, all the popular sedans in this niche are budget by definition, but each in its own way, since the price range is quite large. And this despite the fact that only foreign cars, although of Russian assembly, participate in the review.

Ford Fiesta: shorty

This is not only the shortest participant in the review (4.32 m), but also one of the shortest wheelbase (2.489 m), because contrary to current trends, for the sedan, they did not stretch the standard Fiesta platform. On the one hand, this improves maneuverability, on the other hand, the tendency to oversteer theoretically increases, up to skidding, which the Fiesta demonstrates in practice. In addition, poor visibility from the driver's seat, traditionally sacrificed for style for today's Fords, may prevent realizing the advantages of a short base. However, active drivers will surely forgive the machine many errors for the fact that it has retained gambling controllability with a very good ride, and the cramped interior in the rear and the most modest trunk volume in our review will hardly become obstacles. And the interior, whose design is pretty outdated in the seven years since the debut of the sixth generation Fiesta, is saved by the soft plastic of the front panel - an unaffordable luxury for most competitors.

Prices, discounts, equipment

To sweeten up the not-too-humane Russian price list, Ford is offering salvage and trade-in bonuses. Moreover, according to the second, it is much more profitable to take a sedan: not only is it initially 10 thousand rubles cheaper than a hatchback in similar trim levels, but also the “trade-in” discount on it is twice as large - 80 thousand rubles against 40 thousand. But the conditions for recycling are equal for everyone - minus 50 thousand rubles, unless you are purchasing not the most available version Ambiente, which happens only in a sedan and for which you are ready to throw off as much as 83 thousand. Minus this amount, the minimum cost of the Fiesta is a very attractive 469 thousand rubles, but not everyone will be attracted by the equipment of such a car. Only 85-horsepower engine in a block with mechanical box gears, power mirrors and front windows, ABS, audio preparation - this list is actually exhausted. True, for 35 thousand rubles you can supplement it with the optional “Optimal” package, which includes air conditioning and a radio tape recorder with a USB connector and steering wheel controls.

You will receive all this in the standard, and in without fail if you prefer the same 1.6-liter engine, but boosted to 105 hp. Minimum for this option Trend equipment taking into account the recycling discount, it is estimated at 547 thousand rubles with “mechanics” and at 597 thousand with robotic box, and for a surcharge you can get alloy wheel disks, multimedia system entry level synch, fog lights, rear power windows, heated front seats and windshield. Some of these options are included standard equipment performed by Trend Plus, for which you need to pay extra 47 thousand rubles, and the top Titanium equipment includes all positions, plus light and rain sensors, climate control, stabilization system, leather steering wheel and LED running lights. Such a Fiesta is available exclusively with a “robot”, and you will have to pay at least 704 thousand rubles for it if you are satisfied with a 105-horsepower engine, and at least 728 thousand in a 120-horsepower top version.

Datsun on-DO: only Lada is cheaper

The most budgetary alternative to the three-volume Fiesta is a “rebranded” version of the VAZ sedan Lada Granta by name . She herself was not included in the review, since it is shorter than 4.3 meters, but one of the main differences between Datsun is an elongated trunk, because of which on-DO can argue with Fiesta regarding disharmony appearance. But here it’s at least clear what they were fighting for: the Datsun trunk has the largest volume in our review, although the on-DO itself is only 17 mm longer than the Fiesta (4.337 m) with even a little more short base(2.476 m). As for the rest consumer qualities, as well as driving ones, Datsun can hardly be seriously compared with “real” foreign cars: Grant, of course, is superior in many respects (except for the choice of power units - only a 1.6-liter eight-valve in a block with “mechanics”), but above the head you won’t jump, and the price, again ... About it - a little lower, but here we still note strengths Russian "Japanese brand": this is a good visibility, excellent sound insulation, impenetrable suspension and ground clearance more than other crossovers.

Prices, discounts, equipment

Customers are lured into Datsun showrooms with valuable gifts (winter tires are now very useful) and a 50,000 discount on recycling / trade-in, and an additional fifteen thousandth discount is also valid until the end of November. But even without all this, on-DO is much more budgetary than the Fiesta: if the minimum price of an “empty” tranny with all the discounts is 469 thousand, then the Datsun is in a good Trust configuration (fog lights, ABS and a pair of airbags, in front there are power windows and seat heating, an audio system with USB and SD slots, simple climate control) initially costs 466 thousand, and today it can be taken for 401 thousand. And by adding another 56 thousand rubles, we will get “full stuffing”, even if this case it is not very fat either: a heated windshield, a 7-inch touch screen, a navigator, parking sensors, rain and light sensors, side airbags and even a stabilization system.

The most economical ones are waiting for an attraction of unheard-of generosity in the face of the Access package. Outwardly, it differs from the others in 14-inch wheels (steel, of course), the absence of fog lights, black bumpers, door handles and mirrors, and inside - the lack of electric adjustments of these same mirrors, electric windows, central locking, air conditioning, radio and passenger "airbag". In addition, the engine here is not 87-horsepower, like in other versions, but 82-horsepower, which, however, is difficult to feel in motion. The picture is brightened up only by ABS, folding backseat and heated front seats, but the “tasty” price compensates for everything. Without discounts, it is 406 thousand rubles, and taking into account all the bonuses, it’s a completely ridiculous 341 thousand, like half of the Fiesta of the average level of equipment.

Renault Logan: base matters

One step above Datsun, another representative of the Renault-Nissan family, the second generation, is positioned. This is the longest wheelbase sedan in the review: being only slightly longer than the Fiesta (4.346 m), it has almost 15 centimeters more distance between the front and rear wheels (2.634 m). Not all of this increase went to the scope for rear passengers, but they are still noticeably more at ease here than in Ford or Datsun, also thanks to a higher landing, because Logan is in the lead and in terms of overall height. The driver, as in the first Logan (which, by the way, is also still available), is not spoiled by either perfect ergonomics or refined driving habits - practicality and economy are still priorities. Until recently, the buyers of the new Logan did not have an alternative to a manual gearbox, but now they are offered two two-pedal versions at once - with a simple “robot” based on the same “mechanics” and with a good old “automatic” four-speed, long familiar to many others models. Moreover, the first is aggregated only with an 82-horsepower eight-valve engine, and the second - exclusively with a 102-horsepower 16-valve engine.

Prices, discounts, equipment

To receive discounts on Logan or other special conditions, the Russian representative office of Renault offers each buyer to bargain with a specific dealer. On general terms, for a minimum of 419 thousand rubles, you can get a car in the Access configuration, as modest as that of a Datsun, and even without power steering and ABS. They appear in the Confort version, along with front electric windows and some more useful things, but the price immediately rises to 517,990 rubles, while for an elementary air conditioner and fog lights, they also require an additional payment. Of course, the optional power unit will also cost a pretty penny: a 102-horsepower car will cost at least 539,900 rubles, you will have to pay two thousand less for the base engine in tandem with a “robot”, and a powerful automated version already costs 584,990 rubles, which quite comparable to the Fiesta.

However, unlike the Ford, a combination of basic power unit(eight-valve plus "mechanics") and top-end configuration. It's called Luxe Privilege, is estimated at 607,990 rubles and includes alloy wheels, leather-trimmed steering wheel, climate and cruise control, parking sensors, heated front seats, rear electric windows and a decent audio system with a touch screen. True, you will have to pay extra not only for more powerful engine And automatic transmission, but also for stabilization and navigation systems, 11,990 rubles each.

Hyundai Solaris: give youth!

The Korean bestseller is the most direct competitor of the Fiesta, both in terms of price, technical and image. Dynamic Design both sedans clearly gravitate toward youth, although the slightly larger Solaris (base - 2.57 m, length - 4.375 m) does not have an equally low-powered base engine. A 107-horsepower 1.4-liter engine in a block with “mechanics” accelerates the car to 100 km / h faster than the most affordable Fiesta, on-DO and Logan accelerate, although for someone much more important than a second difference in acceleration can become noticeable big bet transport tax. base motor can also be aggregated with a four-speed "automatic", while for the 123-horsepower 1.6-liter an alternative to the manual "six-speed" is provided in the form of a more advanced six-speed automatic transmission. To match the dynamics and harsh suspension, however, handling is also difficult to call ideal, even if the "arrogance" is less than that of the Fiesta. As for ergonomics and functionality, there is approximate parity with the Ford sedan with slight adjustments for design and equipment features.

Prices, discounts, equipment

The current discounts are small against the backdrop of the Fiesta - only 30 thousand rubles, but to receive them you do not need to hand over the old car either for trade-in or for recycling. The starting price, taking into account this bonus, is 505,900 rubles, more than Ford, although the starting equipment Active very similar: a pair of airbags, ABS, central locking, front power windows, steel discs, audio preparation. For a climate package consisting of air conditioning, heated front seats and mirrors (of course, with electric drive), you need to pay an extra 68,500 rubles, and if you want to add an automatic transmission to these amenities, be prepared to pay another 35 thousand. This is provided that under the hood there will be a 1.4-liter engine, a car in the same configuration, but with a 1.6-liter unit, is estimated at 599,400 rubles in the "mechanical" version and 639,400 rubles in the "automatic" .

Those who care not so much about the number of “horses” and gears as about decent equipment can take even the “weakest” Solaris in Comfort or Elegance versions. The first, with a minimum price of 585,900 rubles, implies the presence of power windows “in a circle” (and the driver’s one with a closer), an audio system with a USB connector and steering wheel controls, as well as heating the lower part of the windshield. And Elegance is a minimum of 640,400 rubles and a much more serious “stuffing”: climate control, parking sensors, improved interior trim and a heated steering wheel, leather braid and adjustment for reach (in the base it only moves up and down). In addition, a car with a 1.6-liter engine can be obtained in the “anniversary” version of the Special Edition 500000th (from 639,900 rubles), where there are no some “elegant” positions, but there is a light sensor, projection headlights, fog lights, LED running lights and light alloy wheels. However, "casting" and everything else can be obtained in addition to other configurations thanks to optional packages, which are offered to choose from as many as seven pieces.

Kia Rio: thanks to Comrade Schreyer

Clone of Solaris, produced with it on the same Russian plant under the Kia brand, traditionally sold in slightly smaller quantities, but recently it has shown better dynamics. Recently updated after its older brother, Rio still opposes its sportiness and youth with a more solid and respectable image, developed under the guidance of the famous Peter Schreyer. In our times of crisis large quantity customers fall for a car that looks more expensive than it actually is, especially after restyling, even if in technical terms (and, accordingly, in terms of driving habits) this is the same Solaris. However, there is still a difference in consumer properties: with virtually the same overall length (4.377 m), Rio has a slightly more spacious trunk with a lower loading height. The rest - again, the nuances of marketing and design: for example, some people like the Asian pretentiousness of the "Hyundai" interior, others - European restraint inner peace Kia.

Prices, discounts, equipment

With all the similarities of the two Korean models price policy Kia has one. The discount is given only under the trade-in program, and if you rent a car to a dealer brands Kia, it is 60 thousand rubles, and if "alien" (obviously, including Hyundai) - only 35 thousand. But we will evaluate from the standpoint of a convinced patriot who is transplanting into new sedan from an old Kia, and from this point of view starting price looks, albeit not as modest as that of the Fiesta, but even more beautiful - 499,900 rubles. For these hundreds of half a million, we get, of course, a 1.4-liter engine and “mechanics”, steel wheels and only front electric windows, but the mirrors will already be electric and heated by default. For air conditioning, you will have to pay 30 thousand rubles, but it is more profitable to add another 10 thousand and get it complete with heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A car with the same set of equipment, but with an automatic transmission, will cost at least 639,900 rubles.

In general, Kia's bundling system is more Asian, that is, less flexible than that of the same Hyundai, despite European design. For example, a 1.4-liter engine cannot be obtained with richly equipped, where there is climate control, rear electric windows, a multifunction steering wheel with reach adjustment and alloy wheels. All these benefits are available starting from the Prestige version, equipped with a 1.6-liter engine and priced at 669,900 rubles (including discounts) with a manual transmission and 709,900 rubles with an “automatic”. And only in the latest modification for 769,900 rubles is the top-end Premium package available to the buyer with 16-inch wheels instead of the “15s”, a special interior and exterior decor, an engine start button, parking sensors and a stabilization system. Here you will inevitably save on safety ...

Volkswagen Polo: jokes aside

The only truly budget representative of the “folk” German brand is the most serious and “adult” sedan in our review. Wheelbase of the four-door Polo, although increased compared to the base hatchback, is still a little shorter than that of the “Koreans” (2.552 m), but in terms of overall length (4.39 m) it barely fits into our framework. The strict and academic design remained practically unchanged during the update, which the manufacturer announced just the other day, but the main novelty was the 1.6-liter engine of the new generation EA211 Russian production. It differs from the previous "111th" by an increase of 5 hp. power (90 and 110 hp versus 85 and 105 in different versions) and better economy, but some argue that buyers can pay for this with reduced reliability, more complex and expensive service and repair. However, while these fears are groundless, and most importantly, what you can still be sure of is the reference ergonomics and exemplary driving manners. Moreover, from now on, the Polo will be equipped with a more powerful starter, an increased capacity battery and disk rear brakes, which is why even in the most available trim levels The minimum wheel size is 15 inches.

Prices, discounts, equipment

The update, as usual, led to a price increase, albeit symbolic: the “entry ticket” to now costs 524,900 rubles against 519,900. These are steel wheels, ABS, two airbags, power windows front and rear, a steering column with two degrees of freedom, central locking, audio preparation. Not bad compared to the same "Koreans", but for a surcharge, alas, you can only get a radio, anti-theft system, engine protection and rubber mats (the latter is especially touching). If you need air conditioning, you will have to take the Trendline package, paying extra 35 thousand, but here the choice of options is richer: it is possible to order alloy wheels, heated mirrors and a windshield. This level is the starting point for a 110-horsepower version of the engine with a “handle” and a minimum price of 602,900 rubles, and for a car with a six-speed “automatic” you will have to pay no less than 648,900 rubles. But before, such a box was available at all starting from the Comfortline version for at least 673,900 rubles.
