Specifications Corolla 2015

On the territory of Russia it is available with three options for gasoline engines:

  1. 99-strong, 1.3-liter; this power plant allows you to develop a speed of 180 km / h, and up to 100 km / h the car accelerates in 12.6 seconds; in mixed driving mode, the car consumes 5.6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
  2. The unit, with a volume of 1.6 liters and a capacity of 122 liters. With.; allows you to develop a speed of 195 km / h, and accelerates to the first hundred in 10.5 seconds; consumption in mixed driving within 6.3 liters.
  3. Top-end power plant, 1.8 liter capacity, 140 "horses"; the maximum speed of a car equipped with this engine is 195 km / h, with an average consumption of 6.4 liters of gasoline.

The 2015 Toyota Corolla has 2 types of transmission: a manual gearbox and a continuously variable CVT. The CVT is supplemented with two additional sports modes of operation - Sport and seven-band Shiftmatik.

Transmission

Toyota Corolla E150 was equipped with three gearboxes - mechanical with six feet, automatic with four and a variator.

A 6-speed manual gearbox, which has a traditional design for such mechanisms, is available for 1NR-FE, 4ZZ-FE, 1NZ-FE, 1ZR-FE, 2ZR-FE, D4D.

The automatic machine is also of a traditional design, that is, a torque converter. Has 4 steps. This gearbox is available for the 1ZR-FE engine.

The variator is the least common, so its technical characteristics are described in more detail. Toyota calls it CVT. In this generation, such a gearbox is only available for the 1NZ-FE engine. It is a continuously variable V-belt gearbox. This mechanism consists of a chain transmission, which includes two pulleys connected by a steel V-belt. Each of them is formed by two conical disks, which are able to move relative to each other, thus changing the diameter of the pulley. The tapered discs are angled at 20° as this provides the least amount of resistance as it moves across the belt pulley surface.

The variator, thanks to the named technical features, is attractive during operation because it performs a smooth change in gear ratios, which contributes to comfortable movement.

Suspension

The technical characteristics and suspension design of the E150 are standard for cars of the segment to which the described car belongs.

The front of the Toyota Corolla is equipped with an independent MacPherson-type design, that is, a multi-link spring independent, and the rear suspension is represented by a torsion beam.

The track of the front wheels is 1525 mm, and the rear - 1520 mm.

Ground clearance is 150 mm.

The technical characteristics of the suspension, namely the settings of the springs and shock absorbers, combined with a sufficiently high ground clearance, ensure comfortable movement on uneven surfaces.

Controllability is provided by a rack-and-pinion steering mechanism, equipped to facilitate control of an electric or hydraulic booster, depending on the configuration. The turning circle is 10.4 m.

Tires and wheels

Modifications of the 2008 Toyota Corolla with the least powerful engines in the initial configurations were equipped with 15-inch steel wheels with 195/65 R15 tires. Modifications with the most outstanding technical equipment were equipped with steel alloy wheels, 16” in diameter with 205/55R16 tires.

brakes

Ventilated disc mechanisms are installed on the front axle of the cars in question, and non-ventilated disc mechanisms are installed on the rear axle.

Body

Toyota Corolla is presented in a sedan body, the technical characteristics of which are given below.

The dimensions have been slightly increased in comparison with the previous generation of the model, which is traditional for most cars. Length is 4540 mm, width - 1760 mm, height - 1470 mm. The wheelbase is 2600 mm.

In addition, in comparison with the previous generation, the rigidity of the body was increased and at the same time its weight increased. The curb weight of the car is about 1300 kg, depending on the modification and equipment. Rigidity, as you know, determines the driving performance and safety of the car. Therefore, thanks to the increase in this technical characteristic, the designers managed to significantly increase safety. achieved through the wider use of high-strength steels. This can be judged by the maximum rating received by the Toyota Corolla E150, according to the results of Euro NCAP crash tests, which was achieved, among other things, due to the ability of the body to significantly mitigate both frontal and side and rear impacts. It should be noted that this is the first generation of the car in question, awarded such a high safety rating.

Fuel consumption

Consumption with the smallest engine per 100 km is 4.9 liters, 7.3 liters and 5.8 liters in extra-urban, urban and mixed modes, for 4ZZ-FE - 5.7 liters, 8.6 liters, 6.7 liters , respectively, for 1ZR-FE - 5.8 l, 8.9 l, 6.9 l, for 2ZR-FE - 6 l, 9.3 l, 7.2 l, modification with a diesel unit consumes 4.4 l , 7 l, 5.3 l of fuel in similar conditions. The given technical characteristics refer to modifications equipped with a manual transmission.

A car with a 1ZR-FE engine and automatic transmission consumes 6 liters, 9.3 liters, 7.2 liters per 100 km in suburban, urban, combined cycles.

As can be seen and expected, the most economical diesel engine. Most fuel costs require modifications to Toyota Corolla with a 1.8-liter and 1.6-liter engine complete with automatic transmission.

The volume of the tank is 55 liters. For most modifications of the car in question, equipped with gasoline engines, the manufacturer recommends using AI-95 fuel, however, some of them, developed for the previous generation, can be refueled with AI-92.

Dynamics

The slowest modification of the E150 is equipped with an engine with the most modest technical characteristics, a volume of 1.33 liters. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes her 13.1 s. At 0.1 s, it is ahead of the Corolla with a 1.4 liter engine. The only modification in 2008 with a CVT, which implies a 1.5 liter engine, accelerates to 100 km / h in 11.9 s. It takes the same amount of time to accelerate a 1.6-liter car equipped with automatic transmission, which indicates a higher efficiency of the variator.

However, the best, in terms of these technical characteristics, is a manual transmission, since a Corolla equipped with it with the same unit spends 1.5 seconds less on acceleration up to 100 km / h, compared to cars equipped with automatic transmissions, with the same technical characteristics engines. Corolla with a 2.0 liter diesel engine outperforms the last reviewed modification by 0.1 s.

As you can see, the E150 has a fairly extensive range of engines. This car is well suited for operation on low-quality roads due to the possibility of using AI-92 for some engines, comfortable suspension settings, and high ground clearance.

Toyota Corolla 1.6

Year of issue: 2012

Engine: 1.6 (124 HP) Checkpoint: A4

I must say right away that I travel quite a lot, and on far from ideal roads. I bought the car new, and in less than four years I drove 110,000 km. The decisive argument in favor of the purchase was the reputation of Toyota Corolla as a reliable car and reasonable cost. Although there were doubts when buying. Even in the top configuration, the equipment is modest: climate control, heated seats and mirrors, a simple audio system, power accessories and that's it. Now budget cars, the same Lada Vesta or Hyundai Solaris in the average configuration, are better equipped, and in rubles they cost about the same as the Toyota Corolla in 2012, although the national currency has since fallen in price by half. Therefore, I do not agree with those who believe that buying a Japanese car is a good investment.

At first, the car pleased, because I moved to it from the domestic VAZ-2114. The equipment seemed rich and the interior luxurious. Ride quality is also very good. I still consider Toyota Corolla one of the best cars in the class in terms of ergonomics, handling and suspension. The engine is optimal, not too voracious, consumes about 11 liters per 100 km in the city, 8 liters on the highway and at the same time provides good dynamics. The automatic transmission, although simple, 4-speed, works quite adequately and, apart from frequent oil changes, does not cause problems.

But in terms of reliability, hopes were not justified. During the operation, Toyota Corolla had more problems than VAZ-2114 during the same period. There is really a difference, the domestic car had minor breakdowns immediately after purchase, but then, when factory defects were eliminated, in the range from 30,000 to 90,000 km, it did not require anything other than an oil change, and only then began to slowly crumble. Toyota has the opposite, up to 40,000 km nothing at all had to be done except for scheduled maintenance, which, by the way, is expensive and must be done every 10,000 km.

Then, when the warranty ran out, it started, albeit on trifles, but the car breaks down all the time. I had to sort out the suspension, change the brake discs, pump, generator, thermostat twice. The steering rack rattles. Although I try to keep an eye on the car, I change the oil in the engine and gearbox on time, but now it looks far from ideal. There are a lot of paint chips and scratches on the body, the upholstery was wiped off, “crickets” appeared in the front panel. At the same time, the diagnostics of the engine and gearbox showed that they are in excellent condition, and the car will pass at least the same without any problems. I just don't want to drive a Toyota Corolla anymore.

For myself, I concluded that reliability and durability are different terms. A thing can serve indefinitely, but require constant attention, like a Toyota Corolla. And vice versa, work flawlessly for some time and suddenly break down, like a Chinese mobile phone. Based on this, my next car will be Korean, I would even take Lada Vesta if it had a normal automatic transmission.

It's good that even for a 4-year-old Toyota Corolla in the secondary market they offer good money, the reputation of a reliable car, inherited from previous generations of this model, is still alive.

Advantages of Toyota Corolla 1.6:

Moderate cost

Quality build

Good ergonomics

Reliable handling

Good combination of engine and transmission

Good liquidity in the secondary market

Disadvantages of Toyota Corolla 1.6:

outdated design

Poor equipment

Expensive official service

Poor quality paintwork and interior materials

The car is durable, but unreliable, a lot of breakdowns on trifles

Surely, each of us has seen such a car as the Toyota Corolla. This model has been produced since the 90s. However, it gained the greatest popularity with the release of the new, tenth generation, which was produced until 2013.

The car has become iconic and recognizable on the roads. Why did she receive such recognition? About what Toyota Corolla (2008) has reviews, specifications and prices, see our today's article.

Design

The tenth generation of the car in the back of 150 looks much more impressive than the previous one, according to owner reviews. However, the car is also devoid of any aggressiveness. This is a modest city car. The body is dominated by smooth lines. Due to the new bumpers and optics, the car looks more presentable. The hood, like on the Camry, is very short, according to the reviews of the owners. However, often there is no work to be done there. The machine is quite reliable and, except for the replacement of consumables, does not require maintenance.

As for dimensions, the 2008 Toyota Corolla belongs to the C-class of cars. So, the body length is 4.55 m, width - 1.76 m, height - 1.47 m.

What is the clearance of Toyota Corolla (2008)? Owner reviews say that a ground clearance of 15 centimeters is enough for a car. She calmly overcomes bumps due to short overhangs and wheelbase. By the way, the length of the latter is 2.6 meters.

The rear of the Toyota Corolla (2008) is made in a classic Japanese style. There are no expressive forms and outlines. The design of the car is as modest as possible, while not poor. In the center of the trunk lid there is a wide chrome trim. Above it is the company logo. Headlights - two-piece. The optics are quite bright.

Salon

Let's move inside the Toyota Corolla. The interior of the machine is a continuation of its design. Here, too, everything is very modest, while neat. Inside you do not feel like the owner of a budget car. The tenth generation Corolla is a kind of layer between the budget and business class. The architecture of the front panel is built smoothly and without frills. A minimum of chrome parts in the cabin.

In the center is a modest radio, a climate control unit and a niche for small things. All this is neatly decorated with a silver insert "aluminum". The steering wheel is three-spoke, complemented by remote control buttons. On the sides - two paddle "petals".

The instrument panel is made in color. On the left side of the driver is the power window control unit, and on the right side is a comfortable armrest. Under its lid there is a small compartment for storing small items.

Armchairs have weakly expressed lateral support. At the same time, the manufacturer did not deprive them of adjustments. Owner reviews say that the chair can be quickly adjusted "for yourself." There is enough space in the back for three people. Their heads do not rest on the ceiling. By the way, there is no central tunnel inside, which eats up free space so much.

Does the car have a second armrest? Here it is also available. In addition, it is equipped with two cupholders.

What is very important for the C-class is the size of the luggage compartment. The Toyota Corolla has a volume of 450 liters. At the same time, there is a function of folding the rear seats. This allows you to transport items of non-standard sizes. Not enough space under the trunk floor. It is barely enough for the factory "dokatka". However, the interior is made very high quality and taking into account ergonomics.

Specifications: Toyota Corolla (2008)

Let's take a look under the hood of this Japanese car. What is the Toyota Corolla (2008) engine?

In total, there are two power units in the lineup. Both are atmospheric, 16 valves. The units comply with the Euro-4 environmental standard and are equipped with sequential distributed injection. Let's consider each engine separately.

"Corolla" 1.3

This motor is quite rare in Russian open spaces. This gasoline unit, with its volume of 1.3 liters, produces 101 horsepower. The maximum torque of a car with this engine is 132 Nm. Full power is revealed from 3.8 thousand revolutions.

Of course, for a car of this class, this motor gives weak technical characteristics. "Toyota Corolla" (2008) with a 1.3 engine accelerates to one hundred kilometers per hour in "eternal" 13 and a half seconds. The maximum speed is 180 kilometers per hour.

However, the car has a very moderate fuel consumption. For a hundred kilometers in mixed mode, it consumes 5.8 liters of the 95th. However, the car does not like overloads. At full load, consumption can increase by 20 percent. This is a characteristic feature of all low-power motors.

What is the gearbox for the 1.3 liter Toyota Corolla (2008)? A 6-speed manual is the only transmission that this unit is equipped with.

"Corolla" 1.6

This is the most popular version of "Corolla" in Russia. It is equipped with a four-speed As for the engine itself, its power is 124 horsepower.

The unit has more worthy technical characteristics. "Toyota Corolla" (2008) with a 1.6 engine accelerates to hundreds in 11 and a half seconds (despite the fact that the curb weight of the car is 1300 kilograms).

The torque of the engine is 157 Nm. It is available at 5.2 thousand rpm. Fuel consumption is not much different from the previous unit - up to 7 liters per 100 kilometers.

We also note that versions 1.6 were released on the mechanics. In this case, the car hit 100 a second earlier. The maximum speed on the machine is 183 kilometers per hour. On mechanics - up to 192.

Conclusion

So, we found out what technical characteristics the Toyota Corolla (2008) has. Today, this car can be bought for 400-600 thousand rubles.

Why do owners love it? First of all, for reliability. If you need a car for every day, which would not require constant repairs, you should definitely pay attention to this Toyota.

In the secondary market there are many copies in decent condition. The car body is qualitatively painted, does not rust. An automatic transmission has a resource of 300 thousand or more kilometers, subject to regular replacement of gear oil (every 60 thousand kilometers). This Japanese car is worthy of attention.

The 11th generation Toyota Corolla sedan (E160 body) in Russia is equipped with three four-cylinder atmospherics: 1.33 (99 hp, 128 Nm), 1.6 (122 hp, 157 hp) and 1.8 (140 HP, 173 Nm). The first two power units migrated to the updated car from the previous generation car (150 body), while losing 2 hp each. power (previously, the return was 101 and 124 hp, respectively). The “senior” 1.8-liter engine is a newcomer, since it was not presented on the Russian market before the generation change.

The trio of power plants is complemented by two transmission options: a 6-speed “mechanics” and a 7-band MultiDrive S variator with a torque converter. A manual transmission is installed in pair with 1.33 and 1.6 engines, and a variator is combined with 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines.

The sedan is available in front-wheel drive. The suspension is built around the front MacPherson struts and the rear semi-beam. During the change of generations, the chassis configuration was revised, in particular, the damping settings of the struts and the torsion beam mounting scheme were changed.

The fuel consumption of a Toyota Corolla with an initial engine of 1.33 liters and a manual transmission, according to passport data, does not exceed 5.6 liters per 100 km with a combined driving cycle. A sedan with a 1.6-liter engine consumes an average of 6.6 (with manual transmission) or 6.3 (with CVT) liters. Toyota Corolla 1.8 consumes no more than 6.4 liters per 100 km.

The engine was first introduced in 2007. Design features - aluminum block, 16-valve timing (DOHC), valve timing control on both shafts (Dual VVT-i), hydraulic lifters, distributed injection. The Valvematic system (valve lift control) is not provided for engines installed on Russian versions of the sedan.

1.8 2ZR-FE Dual VVT-i 140 HP

The atmospheric "four" 2ZR-FE is structurally similar to the 1ZR-FE with all the pluses and minuses that follow from this. The main difference from the “younger” brother is another crankshaft and a piston with a stroke increased to 88.33 mm. In terms of traction performance, the 1.8-liter unit is only slightly superior to its partner in the engine range.

Toyota Corolla 1.6 engine liter is one of the most popular and successful engines on the Toyota Corolla. The motor model according to the manufacturer's internal classification is 1ZR-FE. This is a gasoline aspirated, 4-cylinder, 16-valve engine with a timing chain drive and an aluminum cylinder block. Toyota designers tried to make sure that the consumer does not look under the hood at all. The motor resource and reliability of the power unit are very decent. The main thing here is to change the oil on time and pour high-quality fuel.

Toyota Corolla 1.6 engine device

The Toyota Corolla 1.6 engine has absorbed all the best developments of previous generations of engines from the Japanese manufacturer. The motor has advanced Dual VVT-i valve timing systems, a Valvematic valve lift system, and the intake tract has a special design that allows you to change the air flow rate. All these technologies have made the motor the most efficient power unit.

Toyota Corolla 1.6 engine cylinder head

The cylinder head is a pastel for two camshafts with "wells" in the center for spark plugs. The valves are arranged in a V-shape. A feature of this engine is the presence of hydraulic lifters. This means you don't have to adjust the valve clearance. The only problem is the use of low-quality oil, in which case the channels can be clogged and the hydraulic lifters will stop performing their function. In this case, a characteristic unpleasant sound will come from under the valve cover.

Toyota Corolla 1.6 engine timing drive

Toyota designers and engineers decided to make the chain drive of the engine as simple as possible, without all kinds of intermediate shafts, additional tensioners, dampers. In addition to the crankshaft sprockets and camshafts, only the tensioner shoe, the tensioner itself and the damper are involved in the timing drive. Timing diagram below.

For the correct alignment of all timing marks, there are links painted in yellow-orange color on the chain itself. When installing, it is enough to align the marks on the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets with the painted chain plates.

Technical characteristics of the Toyota Corolla 1.6 engine

  • Working volume - 1598 cm3
  • Number of cylinders - 4
  • Number of valves - 16
  • Cylinder diameter - 80.5 mm
  • Stroke - 78.5 mm
  • Timing Drive - Chain
  • HP power (kW) - 122 (90) at 6000 rpm in min.
  • Torque - 157 Nm at 5200 rpm. in min.
  • Maximum speed - 195 km / h
  • Acceleration to the first hundred - 10.5 seconds
  • Fuel type - gasoline AI-95
  • Fuel consumption in the city - 8.7 liters
  • Combined fuel consumption - 6.6 liters
  • Fuel consumption on the highway - 5.4 liters

In addition to the timely replacement of high-quality oil, carefully monitor what you fill the car with. If you do not pour anything into the engine, then the engine will delight you for many years. In practice, the motor resource is up to 400 thousand kilometers. True, repair dimensions for the piston group are not provided. Perhaps another weak point is sudden changes in temperature. If you overheat the engine, then the cylinder head or even the block may be deformed, and this is a significant financial loss. The 1ZR-FE engine has been installed on almost all 1.6-liter Corollas (and other Toyota models) manufactured since 2006-2007.
