The front panel is new - only the instrument cluster remained from the previous one, and even that one changed the green backlight to white. Panel elements are made in Ulyanovsk and Togliatti, the plastic is not as soft as before, the design is simple, but when you turn on the third gear, the hand now does not touch the buttons and controls on the console. Gearbox and handbrake knobs have been changed. In addition, the guides of the new ventilation deflectors should not “crumble” down on bumps or when the door slams (this was not uncommon on the Patriots).
The audio system is now located on the same level with the instruments and should be less distracting from the road. The microclimate control unit has also moved higher, and now the Patriot is also offered full-fledged climate control with automatic mode and the ability to accurately set the desired temperature. The ZMZ-51432 diesel engine (2.2 l, 114 hp) has been retired for the time being: it turned out to be too costly to reach Euro-5 standards. Although after about a year diesel engine may return, but mainly with an eye on export. The long-promised petrol turbo engine is not yet ready - it will most likely also appear next year. However, the feasibility of using such a motor on big SUV gives rise to great doubts. Question from automatic transmission transmission has not yet been decided at all: the installation of Chinese “machines” looks most likely, but everything will be determined by the price.
