I took a new RAV 4 at the end of February, I tested the predecessor twice, but I didn’t dare to buy it, I didn’t like the suspension, it seemed harsh and something rattled on the test.

Almost a year more ride on his Grand Vitara born in 2011. But when the new "Ravik" came out, he again went to the test. I haven’t come across a variator before, but this gearbox doesn’t cause any complaints for me, on the contrary, I really like the smooth acceleration without jerking and a fairly quick response to pressing the gas pedal. The Vitara had a hydromechanical machine for the fifth year of operation, the box began to noticeably "kick". The motor also seems to be a kopeck piece, but the ravchik feels much faster. Fuel consumption in the city is about 11 liters, 8 liters on the highway, but on average I invest 10 liters but a hundred.

The cabin is very comfortable and cozy, the driver's seat is much more comfortable than in Vitara, there the back began to ache after an hour of driving, everything is ok on the RAV, plus good lateral support. In the back row there is more space for passengers than on the Vitara, the seatback is adjustable in tilt angle. It's a pity that under the floor in the trunk there is only a dokatka, with our roads it is desirable to have a full-size spare tire.

Already after I bought RAV4 I found out that it is sold in Europe hybrid version ravchik. I found out by chance, during the next trip to Finland (I ride there on business at least once a month). These, of course, are trifles, but when they are accumulated during operation enough, it becomes clear that the organic interior of the RAV4 is clearly not enough.

New dashboard looks very impressive, especially in the dark

The most significant advances in terms of ergonomics are the optional Surround View and smart drive luggage door. But if there can be no complaints about the first one - really one of the best in the segment, then the algorithm of the second one against the background of competitors is quite intricate and requires some getting used to.
