Instead of the previous preselective “robot” (the mechanics that were offered in the States are no longer there), the engine is paired with an optimized ZF eight-speed automatic, as well as the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, which allows you to fully realize all the power and compete on equal terms with.
The company calls the new all-wheel drive system "the most emotionally attractive." It is equipped with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, lockable in the range of 0-100% (rear-wheel drive mode can be activated at the touch of a button), as well as an active rear M-differential. With the stabilization system completely disabled, three operating modes are available: 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD.

Many fans of this model were worried that the addition of all-wheel drive would make the "uh five" too heavy, but in the end the car weighs 1855 kg versus 1870, which is pulled on the scales. And if you fork out for expensive carbon-ceramic brakes, then the weight of the sedan can be reduced by another 23 kilos. By the way, in the base there are six-piston calipers in front and a floating bracket in the back.
