We have already accumulated a lot of impressions about the car, but in this publication we will not talk about how Sandero rides with an “automatic”. We are often asked a completely different question: what to choose - Sandero or Logan? And which set would you prefer? We answer on the example of two cars at once.

We did not take Logan in the test park (they usually buy cars in top trim levels there) - in May of this year I bought a cherry sedan for my parents. The selection criteria were as simple as possible: unpretentious, with normal clearance and inexpensive to maintain a car, subject to large annual runs. The latter is important, because in six months 29,500 kilometers have run on the odometer. And while Logan copes with its tasks, during this time only one dipped beam lamp burned out.

After restyling two years ago, all Renault versions Logan, including the "taxi" Autentique 1.4, received several not very noticeable, but important advantages. The main thing is enlarged side mirrors(previously they were a privilege of the Prestige version). plus normal door handles(It is a pity that only on the front doors). And the cheapest Logan with such a power unit costs at least 435 thousand rubles. It will be just in the same Expression configuration as the sedan shown in the photos.

The Logan Expression has unpainted mirrors, black door handles and 14-inch stamped wheels with hubcaps (the Sandero Prestige has optional 15-inch alloy wheels). Ugly? But more practical! Perhaps it is precisely this situation in the configurations (either Expression without a bunch of desired options, or an expensive Prestige) that led to the great popularity of non-original heated mirrors and various heated seat covers. Of course, you can live without it, but modern machines already managed to accustom to such simple equipment.

But the 16-valve version, which we already tested the winter before last, seems redundant for Logan - of course, it drives briskly (up to “hundreds” in 10.5 seconds!), But is it really necessary to pay extra 21 thousand for it ? And the Sandero 16V turned out to be a little stiffer on the go than the Logan 1.4, although, of course, the amazing energy intensity of the suspension has not gone away. So what to choose? If automatic transmission is critical, then there are no options - only 16-valve 1.6 and only equipment Prestige. The base Sandero is equipped with the most economical and modern in the line gasoline engine- 1.2 l, 75 hp, which replaced the "old man" of similar power with a volume of 1.4 l. Logan doesn't have that. Great! We take Sandero with a “junior” engine, and Logan with the most powerful, 102-horsepower, 1.6-liter volume.

Since the first Logan appeared, the popularity of the most popular Renault has been growing like mushrooms after rain. It is on mushrooms that we will check our debaters: which is more convenient, which is more spacious, and which is more economical and cheaper? Who will we call a fly agaric, and who will we call a mushroom?

At first, we liked the fit of parts and the neat assembly of both machines. Well, it's time to start the engines. Drawing parallels between technology and the animal world, I would like to note: the one that is smaller and weaker, for some reason, is always louder and noisier. Considering the identity of the transmissions ( five-speed boxes are the same, except perhaps in fifth gear on the less powerful Sandero gear ratio a little higher), we tend to look for reasons in the features of the bodies, as well as in the difference in tire tread patterns. "Sandero", as measurements showed, turned out to be significantly noisier at a speed of 120 km / h, when tires sing the main parts in a car orchestra.

The lack of power of the 1.2-liter engine was especially evident when measuring elasticity. In fourth gear in the range of 60-100 km / h, the lag is still not so noticeable. But when driving in fifth in the range of 80–120 km / h, it seems that the hatchback does not accelerate at all! And here, trying on the buyer's galoshes, you begin to regret that you preferred the 1.2‑liter engine. Adding 5,000 rubles, I would take a car with a 1.6-liter engine of 82 hp, and if you throw another 20 thousand, then 102-strong. But he didn't pay. The sedan is almost out of sight, and you keep trampling the gas pedal in a vain hope to keep up ...

The Sandero, equipped with a 1.2‑liter engine, accelerated on the horizontal road of the test site from 80 to 120 km/h in more than half a minute! The Logan, with a 102-horsepower engine, took 19 seconds.

IN THE DARK FOREST

But what is it really? We refueled the cars to capacity and reset the odometers. After 455 km, "Logan" has already moved on to burning the remaining half of the 50-liter tank, and "Sandero" has just crept up to its middle. The natural gain in efficiency is about 10%.

The asphalt was replaced by a primer, and soon we were already rolling along the edge of an overgrown field to a secret mushroom place. This track brought several discoveries at once. The second discovery concerns the operation of the suspension. Where the Logan sways moderately and gently absorbs bumps, the Sandero strives to straighten the shock absorbers during the rebound and at the same time returns the bumps to the cabin with sharp peaks of vertical accelerations.

Almost the only new thing in the cabin is a three-spoke steering wheel with a different design, although the buttons on it have not increased: an additional audio control panel is still located on the steering column. The cup holder located between the front seatbacks is now wider and deeper, and in addition, on all versions except the base one, there is an additional 12-volt outlet in the rear.

The 1.6-liter engines are the same: an eight-valve (82 hp) and a 113-horsepower sixteen-valve are paired with a five-speed "mechanics", and machines with an old four-speed "automatic" are equipped with an older 16-valve engine with a capacity of 102 hp .

The set of equipment has not changed, but their names are now the same as those of the crossover Renault Captur. Only the starter version of Access is still named, and now it includes central locking with remote control. The Confort and Active trim levels are combined into one Life, and now it includes a passenger airbag (previously you had to pay 2990 rubles for it). The Privilege variant has been renamed to Drive, and Luxe Privilege changed to Style. The top version is now regularly equipped with a stabilization system (previously - for an additional charge of 12 thousand rubles).

Logans after restyling have risen in price by 9-13 thousand rubles, while Sandero has an increase of 5-12 thousand. Dealers are already accepting orders, cars will appear in them by the end of July.
