The advantages and disadvantages of the Nissan X-Trail 2018-2019 in a new body are identified based on feedback from real owners. More detailed pros and cons of the Nissan X-Trail 2.0 and 2.5 with mechanics, automatic and CVT, as well as 1.6 diesel with front and all-wheel drive 4x4 can be found in the stories below.

Owner reviews

The main drawback compared to the T-31 is the “dirty” car! Open thresholds collect all the dirt on themselves and it is impossible to get into or out of the car without soiling your trousers.

The entire rear of the car instantly becomes dusty (or dirty). Because of this, despite the automatic washer, the rear-view camera becomes useless and, accordingly, the “blind spot” control function tied to this camera.

The second drawback is a stiffer suspension. She is flawless on the track, at speed. But on the "washboard" of a rural road pretty shakes the soul.

The power window buttons on the door are not illuminated, the mirror folding button is small, the seat heating buttons are inconveniently located. In addition, the heated rear seats have disappeared, which is not superfluous with a leather interior.

LED Bi-Led optics is beyond praise. Royal spaciousness in the rear seats, excellent handling, good sound insulation. The electric drive of the 5th door with a non-contact touch sensor is very convenient. Blind spot control, lane control - the electronic filling is good and works very well.

In general, if you live in the city, then the new X-Trail T32 has practically no drawbacks and is the best crossover in the category up to 1.7 million. But I would probably not recommend it to residents of the countryside (to which I belong).

Video review

Electric handbrake - in a traffic jam, at a traffic light or on the rise, you turn on and that's it - your foot is free. It is necessary to continue the movement, added momentum and went, he turned off. All-round visibility is an indispensable thing in cramped conditions and you can see everything around. LED headlights - high beam is very good.

LED headlights (dipped beam) - the roadside is illuminated normally, but the roadway is annoying. The fact is that at the end of the illumination zone there is too sharp a transition to a dark contour. If there is interference in this zone, then they can not be seen during the time.

Vyacheslav Golovtsov, drives a Nissan X-Trail 2.5 (171 hp) automatic 2015

I expected more from the new Nissan X-Trail T32. Noise isolation is disgusting, you have to make the music louder in order not to hear the noise of the wheels (not spikes) and the engine.

The suspension is also very stiff. In general, trinket. The front bumper could be made with a bevel, increase the clearance, and then look for something hooked. In general, the car is not for our roads. I do not advise.

Plus the inconvenient door handle from inside the car. When you open the door, there is nothing to hold it for. In front, they could make a normal hole for towing, and not screw in the pin (the latch has already fallen out somewhere).

Andrey Malyshev, drives Nissan X-Trail 2.0 (144 hp) AT 2015

Where can I buy?

Compliance of price and quality. Pleasantly surprised by the variator. Acceleration is dynamic, greyhound, there are no jerks, it starts easily, picks up speed, there are no problems with overtaking, you need a shot, please.

There were no problems with the handbrake (as many wrote), pulled up - parking, lowered down - let's go. Cool — heated front window, very fast!

In the field: the paws work perfectly in 30 cm wet snow + ice below, trotters like a saiga, powerful, fairly stable, 190 km/h keeps norms on the track, climbs perfectly on the track.

Elena Mirgorodskaya, drives a Nissan X-Trail 2.5 (171 hp) automatic 2015

I expected more, I don’t quite like the CVT: it’s convenient, but some kind of sluggish acceleration. But the seats are very comfortable, I like the adjustment of the rear seats: both longitudinally and tilted. There is a lot of space in the cabin, but the trunk for such a car is small, the spare wheel eats everything.

Noise isolation is average, the car was quieter on a test drive. The suspension is stiff, you will feel all the small things, I haven’t experienced it off-road, but the clearance pleases.
After the break-in (now mileage is 6,000 km), fuel consumption has decreased: city - 10.4, highway - 7, well, I began to run faster.

Alexey Sporov, drives Nissan X-Trail 2.0 (144 hp) AT 2015

The car is comfortable and modern. Worth your money. For the city a great option. Of the advantages, I note the ease of operation and low consumption of gasoline. The car is warm, comfortable climate control.

Among the shortcomings — low lowered bumper. Not comfortable for off-road. Driving through the pits often clings. Before very afraid of pits. At speed, it just crashes into the front end, like into a wall. Plastic in the cabin creaks, very unpleasant. Accelerating to 120 km / h, the car begins to wag, becomes unstable.

Review of the Nissan X-Trail 2.0 on the machine in 2016

In June 2017, I bought it for 1,770,000 rubles (SE + equipment). In early July, with a run of 600 km, a cricket appeared in the trunk, not even a cricket, but a real creak. I came to the "officials", told about the problem, and they say that there is no specialist in squeaks, and in general the case is not guaranteed, they say you will come when the specialist arrives.

After 2 weeks, when their specialist came out, I arrived. The creak was eliminated in 2 hours, explaining that the car did not pass pre-sale preparation, and now everything has been lubricated, tightened and everything is fine.

Everything was fine… for a while. After the first trip to nature (the luggage compartment was not even loaded to the eyeballs), the sound of beating plastic was added to the creak, all in the same luggage compartment.

Review of Nissan X-Trail 2.0 with all-wheel drive and CVT 2016

The former version of the truly popular Nissan X-Trail looked like an SUV, but in fact it was a crossover. The new generation, T32, has the same body shape and continues to mislead: although the car has been updated, it is built on the same units, albeit updated ones.

In the Russian Federation, the previous version was loved by many car owners and was in great demand. Its comfortable suspension and huge trunk make it a great option for long-distance travel. But even in this barrel of honey there is a fly in the ointment: its off-road capabilities were very limited, and handling on asphalt was far from ideal. Over time, the Nissan X-Trail began to lose its leading position, more successful competitors began to bypass it. A review of this car has been prepared especially for you.

The main features that the new Nissan X-Trail has are frowning headlights, a sloping “forehead” and sunken sides. Compared to its predecessor, the updated Nissan X-Trail has become significantly larger, although, at first glance, you can’t tell. This is especially felt inside the car: its front panel has become much larger, the central air ducts have taken shape in a chrome frame, a glossy black multimedia console has appeared, the steering wheel has acquired branded outlines, and soft lining has appeared on the central tunnel. The fit and quality of the materials used have been greatly improved. Separately, in the review, you need to highlight the driver's seat: it has become so soft, it seems that you are sitting in the air.

Internal Options

The updated version of the X-Trail has dual-zone climate control and a heated windshield. Remarkably, the rear passenger seats are not heated. This is probably the only thing that can specifically upset passengers in the second row. Of the advantages of the second row, it should be noted that it is placed higher than the first, and passengers, as it were, look down on
the world around, the view from there is incredibly wide. There is enough space to sit down, enough space to put your feet. If there is a need to adjust the blower, then you need to try hard to reach out. The central section with options has become quite comfortable armrest with many cells. The new version of Nissan can accommodate up to 7 people at a time. However, it should be noted that there will be no official sales of 7-seater versions of this car in Russia: demand is very low.

Trunk

5 The door of this car is equipped with an electric drive, it can be opened even without any effort. To do this, just hold your hand near the sensor located above the license plate. The trunk of the updated Nissan X-Trail has become a little larger: it used to be 479 liters, but it became 497. However, the previous generation Nissan X-Trail had two drawers, it was possible to fold the rear seats. Of course, if you fold the backs, the trunk of the previous version is out of competition. The new version has reduced the underground, but it has become possible to insert it into special holes. In this way, you can organize special shelves: horizontal and vertical. The latter, in turn, divides the luggage compartment in half. This is a rather convenient feature, as it helps to neatly distribute things into compartments. Also, such shelves prevent blocking the view when reversing.

Handling and dynamics

It was possible to test on the lands of an amazing region, the Republic of Karelia. It is impossible to describe its roads: gambling turns, sharp descents and ascents. Cracked asphalt, hard-packed snow and ice packs give us the opportunity to test the car's handling, suspension and drivetrain. The new Nissan X-Trail is not just an updated crossover, it is, as many auto critics say, an off-road Qashqai. It is more spacious and safer.

On a snowy road, the X-Trail runs best in economy mode. In it, the gas pedal is damped, which makes the reaction to pressing more careful, smooth. The car is also equipped with an Eco mode, but it is not so easy to find it: it is hidden near the headlight washer and the stabilization activation button.

Nissan engineers said they were trying to combine Chinese softness and European handling in the Russian version of this crossover. On paved surfaces, driving a crossover is more pleasant than on its predecessor. However, for bumpy terrain and country roads, the Nissan X-Trail suspension is a bit inappropriate - it's harsh. On the road with large pits, the suspension is very loud on rebound, on small stones it vibrates.

If we take a test car, then literally a few hours later, from the strongest shaking, the ceiling began to “walk”, it was not possible to fix this annoying problem manually. This can be explained by the fact that the production of X-Trail at a plant in the northern capital of our country began quite recently. In another test machine, such problems were not observed. The car goes much better on studded tires, on which the rumble from the road is not heard so clearly. The manufacturer plans to additionally build seals between the threshold and the edge of the door, so that the latter does not get dirty, increase the rear view.

Transmission of the new X-Trail

The new version of this car is built on the platform of its older brother, but received new power units and an upgraded transmission. Also, the new Nissan X-Trail received a 210 mm ground clearance (clearance). However, such changes led to some deplorable acquisitions: due to the increased wheelbase and the direct front overhang, the geometry of the car deteriorated significantly.

On the track, this crossover holds up well, but sometimes the bumper catches large bumps.

The advantage of the Nissan X-Trail over Qashqai lies in the so-called "descent assistance assistant".

It is he who makes it possible to pass icy slopes and snow mounds safely and without changing the trajectory. The manufacturer recommends passing large and dangerous obstacles in the “Lock” mode. Its function is to lock the differential between the wheels: in this way, half of the thrust is transferred to the rear axle.

It is difficult to pass obstacles without the included modes, this is prevented by a fairly stiff suspension. As soon as the car catches diagonal hanging, it starts to slow down, and if you put pressure on the gas, it starts to couple the drive and driven discs. The rear camera is equipped with washers that automatically rid it of dirt, the "all-round view" function provides the most accurate maneuvering.

car power

If we compare the Nissan X-Trail with its closest competitor, namely the Qashqai, then there is a faster response to the response of the accelerator and CVT buttons. Acceleration is not as stretched, although the car is a little heavier, up to 100 km / h accelerates 1.5 seconds faster. You also need to say about the necessary effort on the steering wheel - it has become more verified. The new version of the Nissan X-Trail with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine has become much more powerful - 171 horsepower versus 144.

The operation of the CVT transmission became more stable and faster, the car began to respond faster to pressing the gas pedal. The updated suspension has become softer, the configuration of the car has also become denser. In general, the new X-Trail has become solid. The difference between the chassis of the new and the old Nissan is small, as is the engine consumption: now 11 liters of 92nd gasoline will be enough for a 2.5-liter engine for 100 km / h. Refueling with such fuel became possible only due to the engine with distributed injection.

In the previous version of the X-Trail, the diesel version was equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the gasoline versions with a CVT. The new version of the crossover with a diesel engine now only comes with a six-speed manual. Models with a variator equipped with a reinforced plate are also produced, but they do not plan to officially sell such versions in Russia.

The volume of the updated diesel engine by the standards of the crossover is very modest, 1.6 liters with a capacity of 150 horsepower. The maximum torque has not changed: it remained the same as it was 320 Newton meters. It should be noted that the new X-Trail has become a little faster and more ergonomic, has been reduced, and the view from the windshield has increased.

The engineers managed to complete the Nissan and recreate the new version of the X-Trail almost from scratch. The updated car began to look more modern, became more comfortable. However, it should be noted that he lost his individuality. In defense, we can only say that it fully meets all the requirements of urban residents for crossovers. First of all, X-Trail will be loved by those for whom constant forays into the country or nature are the norm.

Review Nissan X Trail T32: interior, exterior, engine

Many SUV enthusiasts believe that a car should resemble a huge closet on wheels with its brutal appearance. Therefore, they are dismissive of the glamorous and artsy exterior solutions of modern crossovers. All of them, for sure, will be unpleasant to know that another famous representative of purely male cars has fallen victim to marketing moves. The birth of a new (third in a row) generation of the Nissan X-Trail T32 is accompanied by a radical change in image. Fans of chopped lines and ascetic archaism have nothing more to do behind the wheel of this "Japanese". From now on, it will be a typical representative of the variety of crossovers, which is usually attributed to the premium segment. By the way, for the US market, the car is referred to as the Nissan Rogue.

A bad feeling among adherents of the old look of the Nissan X-Trail, which had survived by this time the change of two generations and one restyling, should have appeared back in 2012, when the Japanese showed their Hi-Cross concept crossover at the Geneva Motor Show.

In parallel, representatives of Nissan voiced the desire to give all their models a similarity and corporate recognition. This suggested that it was unlikely that the expensive and chic Nissan Pathfinder, or even more so the Nissan Murano, would be modified, fitting their looks to the canons of the old-fashioned appearance of the Nissan X-Trail. And all fears were confirmed at the presentation of the third generation X-Trail in Frankfurt, because the novelty turned out to be a spacious, comfortable and very modern-looking crossover.

X-Trail will be launched in Russia in 2015

The new Nissan X-Trail, which caused controversy among lovers of expensive SUVs and connoisseurs of square SUVs, by mid-2015, should start rolling off the assembly line of Nissan's St. Petersburg plant by mid-2015. In addition, this crossover will be produced in Indonesia in the city of Purwakarta and in Japan itself in the city of Kyushu for consumers from Europe and Asia.

Appearance of the third generation X-Trail

Just look at the novelty from the front to understand that the fashionable, slightly squinted headlights, decorated with LED strips of running lights, a V-shaped radiator grille with the Nissan logo and a massive bumper with a hood completely changed the previously rustic look of this car that we were used to and gave it charisma and impudence.

In profile, the car looks expensive due to the perfectly drawn monumental wheel arches, stylish alloy wheels, stamped muscular wings and the resulting visual sensation of the waviness and bulge of the body silhouette. The back is typical for crossovers: a laconic bumper, the dominant position of the tailgate in appearance and a stylish spoiler and LED position lights. The number of body color options promise to bring to eight.

The 2015 model year X-Trail SUV was created based on the Japanese-French Common Module Family platform.

Its dimensions:

  • length - 4640 mm;
  • width - 1820 mm;
  • height - 1715 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2705 mm;
  • clearance - 210 mm;
  • distance between wheels - 1575 mm.
The designers managed to make the third generation of this "Japanese" look more compact than the second. But in fact, the car has become longer by as much as 75 mm, wider by 30 mm and higher by 15 mm.

The interior of the new X-Trail 2015

It is enough to climb inside the third generation Nissan X-Trail to understand: the compact body view is just a design trick. The interior of the crossover is really spacious! Moving into the class of more expensive cars, the new X-Trail has become like an Infiniti inside. From him, he took many design solutions and better and more expensive finishing materials.

The center console is decorated with a touch screen multimedia system Nissan Connect. Next to the multifunctional steering wheel is a dashboard, which also has a screen, although it is no longer touch-sensitive and only five 5 inches in size, but coping with the function of bringing to the attention of the driver all the information coming from the on-board computer.

There are so many places in the cabin, but the designers took care of giving the back row of seats mobility. It can be moved forward or backward, depending on the need to increase the trunk or interior. Adjustable at the rear row and seatback tilt. It is planned that one of the options will offer the buyer to purchase the 2015 Nissan X-trail crossover with an additional third (children's) row of seats, which will make it seven-seat. The panoramic roof, already familiar to the previous generation of this SUV, gives a special charm to the interior.

Nissan intends to release a new crossover both with front-wheel drive and with full drive in the form of a plug-in ALL MODE 4x4 system. The used platform is based on an independent suspension with front MacPherson struts and a multi-link rear.

The power steering will be electric, and the brakes will be disc, both front and rear. The car is equipped with all modern active safety systems and the highest level of passive. Having an obedient steering wheel and a dense, even stiff suspension, the crossover is free from the danger of rolling in a turn and, despite the high body, is not subject to windage in a side wind. Noise and sound insulation of the interior space of the body is made at the level, because the model must confirm its claims to the premium segment.

Engine options Nissan X-Trail T32 2015:

  • A 1.6 liter 130-horsepower diesel engine that accelerates the car to hundreds in 11 seconds, provides a maximum speed of 186 km / h and consumes 5.3 liters of fuel in an average driving cycle.

(320 Nm). Both gasoline engines were also installed on the previous generation (X-Trail T31), however, during the upgrade of the crossover, they were upgraded, resulting in a slight increase in power. The engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an XTronic CVT that emulates seven ranges. Along with the front-wheel drive layout, an all-wheel drive with an intelligent All Mode 4 × 4-i all-wheel drive system is provided.

The all-terrain vehicle suspension is a scheme with front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link, each of which has its own chassis settings. The base volume of the trunk of the car is limited to 497 liters (with five seats), the maximum - 1585 liters (configuration with two front passengers and folded rear seatbacks).

The fuel consumption of the Nissan X-Trail T32 with a 2.0 engine is 7.1-11.2 liters, depending on the modification and driving mode. An all-wheel drive crossover with a 2.5 engine burns about 8.3 liters of fuel on average. The diesel X-Trail is the most economical - the consumption is not more than 5.3 liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers with a mixed driving cycle.

Nissan X-Trail T32 engines

1.6 dCi R9M 130 HP

The new turbodiesel Energy dCi 130 with the factory index R9M was developed by Renault-Nissan for the purpose of subsequent installation on their models. The release of the power unit was launched in 2011 in France. The engine belongs to a new generation of motors, which are characterized by economy, high torque and low carbon dioxide emissions. The power unit is equipped with a Start / Stop system, a variable geometry compressor, an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system with a cold cycle, direct injection Direct Injection. The R9M cylinder block is made of cast iron, the block head is made of aluminum, the pistons are graphite coated.

The maximum torque of 320 Nm is reached at 1750 rpm, while 80% of the peak torque is already available at 1500 rpm. The engine complies with the requirements of the Euro 5 standard, but is also prepared for the transition to Euro 6. The motor is also installed on cars, and.

2.0 MR20DD 144 HP

The MR20DD gasoline engine is a refurbished MR20DE unit from the previous Ixtrail. During the update, the engine was equipped with a variable valve timing system on both camshafts, an intake manifold with variable length and direct injection. As a result, power has increased from 141 to 144 hp, and torque has increased from 196 to 200 Nm.

2.5 QR25DE 171 HP

The QR25DE four-cylinder engine is a real long-liver, as it appeared back in 1999 and was installed on the very first Nissan X-Trail. During its life, the unit has been repeatedly updated, having received another batch of innovations by the time the third generation of Ixtrail debuted. The motor has acquired a new block head with holes for nozzles (previously nozzles were installed on the manifold), a phase change system on the intake and exhaust valves, and an inlet tract with adjustable length. All this, together with an increase in the compression ratio from 9.6 to 10.0, gave a gain of 2 hp. (171 against the previous 169 hp) At the same time, the peak torque of the engine has shifted from 4400 to 4000 rpm.

All-wheel drive Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan Xtrail crossover is a front-wheel drive car with a plug-in rear axle. The main component of the All Mode 4×4-i system is an electromagnetic clutch mounted in front of the rear differential. The all-wheel drive system can be controlled using a three-mode switch located on the central tunnel.

The “2WD” position provides for opening the clutch, however, in this mode, the crossover still does not become exclusively front-wheel drive. If the electronics see fit, part of the effort will go to the rear axle, but still the connection will be reluctant. The 4WD mode is suitable for almost any conditions, therefore, most likely, it will be used by the owner most often. The rear axle in this case is connected automatically when the front wheels slip. The ratio of transmitted torque varies from 100:0 to 50:50.

In the "Lock" mode, maximum current is applied to the clutch solenoid, as a result of which the clutch is completely blocked. At the same time, the force is distributed in a fixed ratio of 50:50, which is forcibly maintained when driving at speeds up to 40 km / h. Exceeding this speed limit leads to the transition to the "Auto" mode.

The design of the all-wheel drive does not provide for the presence of full-fledged locks for the front and rear differentials. Electronic imitation of wheel locks is performed by braking a slipping wheel.
