What tires are the best. Quality mark: which summer tires are better

If you do not live in the Far North, then in summer tires you'll be riding most of the year and choosing the right tires for your driving style is very important. In this article, we will list those tires that have proven themselves well and are in demand among motorists.

Despite the manufacturability of modern rubber compounds and the “mathematical” precision in the art of tread pattern, ideal tires do not exist at all. Each advantage, one way or another, implies certain concessions, which means subtleties. So, good resistance hydroplaning implies less wear resistance, etc. There are a lot of characteristics that people pay attention to when choosing tires:

  • Grip quality on: wet pavement / dry pavement / primer or asphalt covered with sand (mud)
  • Comfort (noise, ride)
  • wear resistance
  • Puncture resistance
  • Cornering behavior at high speed
  • Economy (fuel consumption, which not least depends on the type of tires)

Here is a list of 20 tire models that have managed to find the right balance or excel in functionality so that minor flaws can be overlooked.

  • Softness
  • well balanced
  • Unlikely to "catch a hernia" - handles bumps into ditches and potholes fairly well
  • Fuel economy
  • Low wear resistance - wear out quickly
  • Suitable only for movement on the road surface - in other cases, there is no need to talk about any grip with the road.

Nokian Nordman SX

Suitable for medium and small family car. Easy to rotate, so fuel consumption is less. Acoustic optimization of the tread pattern reduces the amount of noise. Although some users notice that in some sizes the tires start to buzz “like an airplane”.

  • Good grip
  • Fuel economy
  • Quiet driving

The wear indicator is a stumbling block. Some users talk about the convenience of this option. Some consumers - about its uselessness - they say, the tires become unusable, crack in the depth of the tread, and the indicator at this time is at the optimal level (5-7).

  • Tires often behave unpredictably on uneven surfaces, “too informative”. Lacks smoothness.

Pirelli Cinturato P7

Modern materials increase the strength of the structure, and the tread pattern guarantees stability. What is nice, Pirelli tires are almost not susceptible to temperature changes - great for our summer. Primer is not recommended.

  • Braking on dry and wet surfaces
  • Clear course stability
  • Average fuel consumption

Continental ContiPremiumContact 5

many independent tests recognized as the best in their category. The design of the shoulder zones is made in the likeness of sports tires - this allows you to firmly hold on to corners. Perhaps, it would be impossible to combine all these parameters without loss - a very soft sidewall does not deprive the tire of its functionality, but it can take you by surprise when you overcome another traffic jam on the side of the road.

  • Moderate performance, good road holding
  • Excellent balance
  • Quiet running, noiseless
  • Small braking stroke
  • Very soft and elastic
  • Low wear resistance - very soft and elastic rubber guarantees good traction, but quickly becomes unusable.

Tires Nokian Hakka Blue- another sample from the eco-friendly Nokian Tires line. Tread compound: silica and pine oil blend, designed for high speed riding. It is assumed that such rubber will be more wear-resistant and provide better traction. The system of safe functionality (wear indicator and hydroplaning indicator - the image of a drop on the tread) will remind you in due time that it is time to change tires. The drop disappears when the residual height is less than four millimeters.

  • Good grip on any surface
  • Durability - the side part is thin, but the impact holds well
  • It is difficult to balance even on defect-free tires.
  • Noisy tires
  • Low wear resistance, like most Nokian Tires.

Michelin Energy XM2

main function Michelin Energy XM2 as conceived by the developers, this is to serve at least one generation of motorists =) Let's put aside the jokes, the main idea is to increase the safety of operation and reduce the cost of buying and operating tires. And everything worked out: this model has a high level of wear resistance, a smooth, confident ride and a short braking distance. Michelin Energy XM2 probably one of the best budget options: can last you five or six seasons, without having to bother yourself with endless trips to the tire shop. The exception is Russian fakes. But with fakes it's always like that =)

  • Long service life: strength of the entire tire structure, wear resistance
  • Holds the road
  • Combination price / quality
  • Noisy, rough ride
  • Does not keep moving on a gravel road, grass, mud

Dunlop SP Sport maxx 050+

Dunlop - subsidiary Goodyear company and is considered British, but the tires themselves are made in Japan. All this already sounds great, but it is also worth adding that the tires Dunlop SP Sport maxx 050+ positioned by the company as their flagship model. The rigid tires show excellent traction due to the compound, and the large volume of the drainage grooves allows the water to be efficiently evacuated. It provides great behavior Dunlop SP Sport maxx 050+ on wet roads even at high speeds.

  • Grip even on wet pavement
  • Reinforced breaker

Toyo DRB

These tires are also Japanese - they are designed for good roads, and this is their biggest “sin” before the Russian consumer. In ideal conditions, that is, in conditions of smooth asphalt without pits and cracks, they can only please their owner, demonstrating excellent traction, both on dry and wet roads, good directional stability and pleasant driving.

Bridgestone is a well-known Japanese company for the production of tires for all types of vehicles. From 2007 to 2011 - monopoly supplier in Formula 1. Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport- representative of tires for off-road vehicles. For the most part, they are designed to drive on rough urban asphalt. It’s good if it is dry – acoustic comfort is 100%, adequate grip, short braking distances are included. In other cases (wet grass, dirt), all negative properties models - on a wet surface, the tires hum, drag a little, and, to some extent, the feeling of control over the car is lost.

  • Even wear
  • Reliably hold and brakes on a dry cloth. It also handles well on gravel roads.
  • Tires of the middle class
  • High noise level
  • Complete impotence on a wet surface (drifts, temporary loss of control)
  • hard move

Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31

Above, a lot has already been said about the transfer of tire technology from Formula 1. So, we have another representative - Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31. Tire tread pattern - longitudinal circular channels and a simple V-shaped pattern - a kind of know-how of KUMHO Tires developed on previous racing experience. One of the aspects that, when developing Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 special attention - the absence of noise. The model is designed to prevent uneven wear, moreover, it exhibits excellent traction on both dry and wet pavement.

  • Doesn't feel the rut
  • Does not lose grip on wet pavement
  • Quiet
  • Wear resistant
  • After wear by 50%, it loses much in properties - it starts to make noise, loses its grip quality

Triangle Group TR968

A controversial exhibit - sports tires with low cost and good initial data - hold the road well, hard body (special attention is paid to the sidewall, which definitely will not tear during the next maneuver). On the other hand, after a certain service life, the rubber becomes dull and becomes completely unsuitable for normal driving.

  • Low cost
  • Holds the road
  • Sturdy construction, rigid sidewall
  • Easily slips on grass, sand, mud and other thick substances
  • Noisy, over time begins to unbearably buzz
  • Poorly balanced

For every motorist before the winter season there is not an easy choice - which winter tires are better to buy. The safety of traffic, people's lives and compliance with the law as a whole depend on this. According to paragraph 5.5 of Appendix No. 8 Customs Union the law stipulates a mandatory period of driving on winter tires from December to February of each year. However, the weather conditions in our country are different every year, and the snow can “fall” as early as October, and come off at the end of January. That is why the period of mandatory "change shoes" is determined by the regional authorities. Both non-studded and studded winter tires are allowed. The traffic rules regulate the mandatory tread size and the size of winter tires for each car.

In addition to creating road safety, the presence of studs (according to the authorities) threatens the modern road surface, which is not covered with snow. This leads to the destruction of the layers of the road, so employees traffic police carefully check the "shoes" passenger cars mobiles during the off-season.

If you know everything about winter tires, have chosen a model and want to buy winter tires already, go to the store "Free Wheels"- verified! I have ordered from him many times, the prices are always better than others . Large selection of tires, wheels and various auto products. The order can be made online with delivery even to the regions.

Before considering, let's look at the features of rubber and which winter tires are better to buy. Normal summer tires harden and crack in the cold. Therefore, winter tire manufacturers are trying to apply innovative approaches to the creation of wheels that will keep the rubber intact at any negative temperature. In inexpensive winter tires, the rubber may not be of high quality, which is why its service life is much shorter. At the same time, it must be remembered that winter tires, unlike summer tires, are almost never erased, therefore they can last more than 5 years.

Before buying tires, sellers, for obvious reasons, will not allow winter tires to be tested, so you will have to rely on product reviews and reputation. you can read at the bottom of the article, as well as on manufacturers' websites, on special automotive portals and in social network groups.

New or used winter tires

In addition to a wide variety of tire manufacturers in the store, car enthusiasts choose between new wheels and used ones. Both of them have their pros and cons.

Such wheels are guaranteed not to swell during the first ride (in the case of high-quality production). If this happens, they can be returned under warranty. New tires will last longer without repair, and it will not be difficult to install new studs in them, if possible. It is difficult to find used tires for some car models, so you have to buy or order only a new product. The only downside is the high price. But it also turns into a plus if you calculate the data in the ratio of depreciation and the life of the new rubber.

When looking to buy winter tires, many car owners first turn to popular sites that sell used goods. There, the owner indicates how long the wheels have been in operation. Information is presented from words, it can be impossible to verify the authenticity of the information, so the buyer has to believe. The price of winter tires that have already been used by another car owner will be lower than on new products. But taking into account the average service life of 2 to 4 seasons, as a result, such an acquisition is unprofitable.

Which winter tires are best

As already mentioned, winter tires can be studded and non-studded. The difference between them is not only in the presence of spikes.

  • Scandinavian winter tire- Designed for maximum grip on snowy or icy road surfaces. It has an average depth of drawing from 8 to 10 mm, with a discharged effect. The pattern is applied in a checkerboard pattern, rectangular or diamond-shaped patterns. The protector is equipped with lamellas. There is a large distance between the drawing. This form is designed to punch through the surface;
  • European winter tire– Designed for driving on wet roads from rain or snow. All slots are thin big amount channels for water.

The spikes on such tires are arranged in a different order, depending on the manufacturer. Most often they can be of 2 types: round or diamond-shaped. The most reliable are considered "recessed" in the coating. They are deeply soldered, while the tip from the outside protrudes strongly and interacts well with the road.

Interesting fact! In some countries, the use of studs on wheels is prohibited.

Studs can help with traction on icy and snowy roads, but when it rains, they can fail, increasing the stopping distance. The spikes add noise and quickly fly out when driving on a surface without snow and ice.

Often heard the term " all season tires". Such products are actively used in Europe, but they are not suitable for use in the harsh Russian climate. The rating of the best winter tires for Russians consists of studded and non-studded wheels, which is what you should be guided by.

Rating of the best winter tires in 2018

So, let's get down to reviewing the best winter tires. The top brands and the most time-tested models of winter tires will participate in the ranking.

The best winter tires of 2018 from several popular manufacturers. In general, last year's situation on the supply market has not changed much, the annual leaders in quality according to the rating of winter tires firmly hold their positions

1 place. Opens our winter tire rating - Nokian

A popular winter tire with a wide range of wheels adapted to the harsh Russian climate. Nokian winter tires are specially designed to suit the characteristics of each car and for different weather conditions. Despite the large range of products, there are negative opinions about this brand in the reviews. One of the drawbacks is the noise when driving. They complain about slight braking difficulties and skidding. For the price, the wheels are in the golden mean of similar offers.

Nokian winter tires are popular among Russian car owners in 2 models: Hakapelita and Nordman. Both models are claimed to be the best in the line especially for the harsh Russian winters.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded winter tires

Series winter tires designed specifically for tough climatic conditions. The presence of spikes makes the coupling with the road reliable, the rubber does not make much noise, and does not cause strong complaints from the reviews. This rubber has been the leader among studded tires since 2009. In total, there are 8 models in the Hakapelita winter tire line. The popular Nokian Hakkapeliitta 7 features vacuum clutch technology, with RunFlat technology available for some sizes. Radii from 13 to 22. In the line "Sun" from 14 to 22 specifically for SUVs.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 according to the assurances of the developers, it was created for fuel economy, the absence of noise and excellent adhesion to the road surface. The test of winter tires 2018 showed that this model does really well on ice, but the reviews say that the tires are very noisy.

latest model Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 range- even more balanced and adapted to winter conditions. Equipped with two different types of studs, which gives even better grip on ice, under different temperature conditions.

The second most popular winter tire from Nokian also made it to the top:

The range is presented from 13 to 17 radius with a profile width in the range from 155 to 235. Rubber is equipped with spikes, tubeless, radial. It promises excellent grip on ice, snow and wet surfaces. In fact, it gets along well only with snow and partially with moisture. Ice contributes to drifts, prevents successful braking. Another variation of the series - Nokian Nordman 7 Sun with radii from 15 to 18 and with a profile width of up to 285 is produced specifically for off-road vehicles.

2nd place. Bridgestone tires

Bridgestone winter tires have been produced by a Japanese company since the 1930s. Since then, car models and production technology have changed a lot. The company produces several model lines summer, all-weather (velcro) and studded tires. The most popular winter tire models are Blizak and Ice Cruiser.

Non-studded winter tires bridgestone blizzak VRX and DM

Bridgestone Blizzak VRX for cars and DM for crossovers is considered the most versatile tire that has proven itself very well. Designed for long service life on difficult icy surfaces. A feature of these models is a clear instruction for mounting the wheels - they have an outer and inner side for more efficient operation. The creators of the models of this series took care of the reliability of the rubber coating. When the outer layer wears off, the porous surface does not lose grip for a long time. Bridgestone Blizzak tires last a long time, while remaining soft and resilient. Despite the difficulty of covering domestic roads, they are very resistant to natural features.

Also in the line of bridgestone blizzak winter tires there is the SPIKE-01 and SPIKE-02 model, which is gaining popularity, which also deserves attention.

Designed for even more difficult climatic conditions. The new arrangement of studs in 16 lines instead of the previous 12, increases the chances of maximum stability of the car. Bridgestone Ice Cruiser winter tires repel moisture and have good road holding properties. The rubber was specially developed as a multi-component rubber with the ability to hold studs longer than other manufacturers. The latest model of studded winter tires bridgestone ice cruiser 7000 has proven itself among motorists and has taken pride of place not only in our rating, but throughout the world.

3rd place. Michelin tires

The French manufacturer of winter tires is quite popular throughout Russia. Michelin winter tires have several lines specifically for severe weather with negative temperatures.

Winter line michelin tires x ice is designed by unique system APS: Adaptability. It allows the rubber to bend only in the right places, fixing the position of the car on the road. The sipes of michelin x ice 3 winter tires are made in a Z-shape, the shoulder area with sharp edges. This allows a car equipped with such rubber to get out of any snow “porridge”, the wheels simply grind the substance, throwing it back and pushing the car forward without skidding.

The Michelin X Ice Nord 3 winter tire is equipped with a smart stud system. At a large negative air temperature, the rubber around the stud seizes, hardens and contributes to better retention of the studs and more aggressiveness on the road. This may increase noise, but it retains traction more reliably. In general, the tire is quite soft and behaves well on any snowy surface.

4th place. Tires

The solid frame of the products of the German manufacturer won the hearts of Russians back in the 90s. Tires were imported into the country along with used foreign cars. Their endurance made the products popular and gradually Continental winter tires entered the top three in popularity.

The composition of the products includes high-quality artificial rubber and silicates. The tread with a water-wicking pattern and many small dashes on the tread wicks liquid well. The tire is equipped with rigid diamond-shaped checkers, which perfectly hold the car in corners.

Winter tires Continental Conti Viking Contact 6 are ideal for four-wheel drive vehicles. They easily cope with off-road, literally scattering snow porridge and keeping the car from skidding.

They interact well with asphalt, have an asymmetric tread, radii from 12 to 24. Designed for fuel economy and good handling on ice with a smooth ride. A large number of studs gives good grip on ice, and a deep tread well rakes snow-covered sections of the road.

According to reviews, the tires are quite noisy and do not pull well out of drifts with snow “porridge”. But a good distribution of tread zones, with a fairly large number of toothy studs, gives a sense of security and confident driving sensations.

5th place. Cordiant tires

Unlike previous representatives of tires, Cordiant winter tires have an average price category. They are available to most car owners in Russia, so there are more product reviews.

Winter tires Cordiant Polar

Winter tire series cordian polar It is produced both in studded and non-studded form. Rubber developed on the basis of the predecessors cordiant polar. It has an ornate serpentine tread pattern that allows you to easily get rid of moisture on the go. The tire is designed for 128 studs in 4 rows. Longitudinal and transverse grip, efficient braking and successful driving. The disadvantages include acoustic features and increased fuel consumption. Cordiant polar 2 pass poorly on a snowy road, can contribute to skidding during heavy braking. The main reason for buying from many owners is the affordable price and a satisfactory number of studs.

Cordiant snow cross - tires for compact and middle class cars. Maneuverability is stabilized by a V-shaped tread pattern and a contact patch that wicks moisture away from the tire. Tire Cordiant Snow Cross is not suitable for winter with air temperatures above +5 degrees. This does not apply to the beginning of the off-season - despite the "mess" on the roads, it often freezes at night and the use of studded tires is necessary. But if such a winter is throughout the season, and the asphalt is not covered with snow at all, this model will not be suitable for use. When driving on a road without snow cover, it creates a lot of noise, wears out quickly, the spikes fly off quickly.

6th place. Dunlop tires

Dunlop winter tires are less popular in Russia compared to the previous titans of rubber production for cars. It has the widest range of models specifically for the harsh snowy winter. The wear resistance of tires of this brand allows you to successfully use them for several seasons. In total, the company has several popular series, each of which is divided into a list of models with features in the tread pattern and tire structure.

Dunlop produces quite a few good models of non-studded tires, such as Maxx SJ8, Maxx WM01.

Tire radii from 13 to 21, there are one and a half sizes. Quality rubber, withstands long trips at low temperatures. Minimal noise on the road, the rubber does not "dube".

But the most popular and best winter tire among the whole line is Dunlop sp winter Ice 02 and Dunlop Grandtrek Ice 02

Studded winter tires Winter ice 02 for passenger cars and Grandtrek 02 for crossovers are well suited for a region with harsh winters and difficulties on snowy roads. Winter Ice and Dunlop Grandtrek tires are equipped with 3D Maura-Ori sipes and a unique triangular pattern in the middle that effectively wicks away moisture. Dunlop winter tires have unique carbide core studs. This makes them practically indestructible on ice and effective in the fight against snow on the road.

7th place. Pirelli tires

Manufacturer of the world's only tires for racing on snowy terrain. speed model Pirelli is designed for speeds up to 270 km/h. More modest models are designed to pass through bad weather in its various manifestations.

Produced according to innovative technology"Pirelli Dual Stud", on which special double spikes are released, literally sealed in rubber. Pirelli winter ice zero is designed for rapid acceleration. Otherwise, it does not exhibit very good braking properties in the snow, it is quite noisy.

Equipped with hexagonal spikes mounted in special flanges. Presented side by side from 13 to 21 radius, for cars of the SUV class. Pirelli formula ice is the most "long-playing" model of the manufacturer. It is almost impossible to lose or damage reliable spikes, so Pirelli winter tires retain their properties for a long time.

8th place. Hankook tires

Hankuk winter tires are one of the best, adapted to the variety of the harsh climate of Russia. The special structure of the lamellas, the snowflake on the tread and the “husky marks”, together with the elegant functional tread pattern, won the hearts of Russian motorists. The affordable price of rubber finally influenced the popularity.

The hankook winter tire range has 14 models, each designed for specific conditions and created according to the desires of customers.

Hankook Winter I Pike has gained good popularity among car enthusiasts and is well established in the market, gaining its fans. The line also has sports version Hankook Winter I Pike RS and Hankook Winter I Pike RS+.

Under heavy braking, Winter I Pike winter tires "grab" the road, preventing the car from going into the skid and securely holding the device in place. There are through drainage systems and the number of tread blocks is doubled. Outwardly, the pattern is very elegant, which also catches the eye of buyers.

9th place. tires

Despite active efforts foreign manufacturers winter tires, they cannot fully understand the difficult climate of Russian roads. In this matter, the domestic plant "Nizhnekamskshina" acts as an expert. For many years they have been producing reliable, inexpensive and practical tires for modern cars.

The only option for winter tires KAMA that deserve attention:

Kama 519 tires do not have intricate patterns or complex stud systems. They are developed according to the Finnish Irbis system - one of the most reliable studded tires in the world. Winter tires Kama euro 519 have 2.45 mm spikes, securely planted in high-quality rubber.

Modern rubber used in the manufacture of products perfectly adapts to difficult weather conditions. Winter tire Kama euro 519 has a two-layer tread. The duration of the operational period of this model is achieved precisely due to the two-layer structure, where the lower layer is hard, holding the spikes, and the upper one is softer and can change depending on the type of road surface. This model is the most adapted to all types of roads. The only dissatisfaction is expressed in reviews regarding the handling of a car “shod” in such tires on ice. But the cost and braking qualities are at a level suitable for most buyers.

10th place. Yokohama tires

Uniqueness this manufacturer for Russian consumers lies in the versatility of the range. The company produces not only tires for cars, but also wheels for agricultural machinery, aircraft, etc. With respect to modern production methods, it is one of the leading leaders worldwide. Yokohama's analytics are based on test drives, scientific research on rubber properties and customer feedback.

Yokohama winter tires are popular among Russian car owners. The use of an asymmetric tread pattern makes the tires as resistant to slip as possible and has a good effect on traction.

The rating includes studded winter tires Yokohama Ice Guard IG35 PLUS

These tires have been on the market since 2013. During this time, it has already taken shape general opinion regarding the quality of tires. The wide center in the tread pattern has a positive effect on stability during maneuvers. Modern 3D lamellas also contribute to the high-quality operation of the tire on the road surface with ice and snow. Of the shortcomings - it quickly loses spikes.

Let's sum up the rating:

All listed winter tires are the best in their class for winter. The rating was compiled primarily on the basis of surveys of owners, reviews on the forums and a general comparison of characteristics.

If you want to buy the best winter tires, check out all the options listed. If they are in our rating, then they deserve attention and even more purchase.

If you are careful about choosing winter tires, be sure to read the reviews. This list of reviews winter tires, will be constantly updated.

Summer tires with a diameter of fifteen inches for compact cars are the most massive on the market, because it is “shoes” of this size that are most often installed in Russia on cheap cars(moreover, both the B-class and the higher segment "C"). well and main reason the choice of "fifteen-inch tires" is not so much in their "budget", but in comfort and durability when operating on Russian roads (which in most cases still do not differ in quality). In addition, the “high profile” has a positive effect on the durability of the “consumables” of the chassis (shock absorbers, silent blocks, ball bearings), protecting them from increased shock loads.

Unfortunately, tire manufacturers do not often indulge motorists with novelties in “budget dimensions” - this is understandable, because “individual” developments and the use of “latest technologies” for such tires are not justified from an economic point of view ... Therefore, affordable small-sized models are produced for the longest time than large (although from time to time some manufacturers update their “budget products” in terms of the composition of the mixture and other materials - but this is primarily done to reduce production costs, and, as a rule, somewhat improves the characteristics of the tires themselves).

Be that as it may, let's try to find out - which of the "fifteen-inch tires" is better to choose by the summer of 2017? To answer this question, we tested dozens of 195/65 R15 summer tires ranging from top end to downright budget options.

The upper “price bar” is set by already “middle-aged” tires Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 of Czech “origin” and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance"originally" from Germany - which are estimated at 3600 and 3400 rubles, respectively. A little cheaper Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde (3150 rubles), which are produced in Turkey, as well as a fairly "fresh" model Nokian Hakka Green 2 (3200 rubles) with a Russian "registration" (having an increased load index - 95).

On top of the average price segment settled true Japanese toyo tires Proxes CF2 and developed in South Korea, but produced in Hungary by Hankook Kinergy Eco - both are offered for 2800 rubles. Slightly less (2700 rubles) ask for "fresh" tires Nordman SX 2 domestic production and made in China Kumho Ecowing (2600 rubles).
Far from new domestic Cordiant rubber Sport 3 is located clearly on the border of the budget and mid-price proposals - 2500 rubles. Cheaper will cost produced in Russia "fresh" Matador tires Elite 3 (2300 rubles), also known as MP 44.

Well, the most accessible test participants were the Chinese “shoes” GT Radial Champiro FE1 and Belarusian Belshina Artmotion tires (also known as Bel-261): the first are available at a price of 2200 rubles, and the second - 2100 rubles.

A popular “golf-class” car was chosen to test twelve sets of tires, and they were carried out at one of the southern Russian test sites at a time when the outside temperature ranged from 22 to 37 degrees Celsius.

Tire testing proceeded according to an already established scheme, and the initial exercise was the assessment of fuel efficiency. But for greater correctness of the results, it was preceded by warming up the tires and components and assemblies of the car itself - for this purpose, on each of the presented sets, a distance of about ten kilometers was covered on the high-speed ring. Well, so that these races do not go to waste, during them directional stability was evaluated at speeds up to 130 km / h, cabin noise and smooth running.

The best in terms exchange rate stability become Nokian tires and Pirelli - the car “dressed” in them distinguished itself not only with clear reactions, but also with an understandable, informative steering wheel. Cordiant, Belshina, Matador and GT Radial showed themselves worse than the others - this four “distinguished itself” by a wide “zero”, low information content of control, delays in the reactions of the car, as well as solid “steering wheel” angles when correcting the course.

measurements fuel economy were carried out on a flat two-kilometer section of the road in calm weather. But even under such conditions, the races in each direction were repeated several times in order to exclude the influence of absolutely all factors on the final results. The GT Radial and Matador turned out to be the least “gluttonous” here - they immediately outperformed their closest pursuers by 0.2 liters per 100 km at 60 and 90 km/h. In turn, Cordiant tires were issued worst performance: at "urban" speeds, they lost 0.3 liters to the leaders, and at "country" speeds - 0.5 liters.

After these exercises comfort ratings a four-kilometer loop was overcome along the service areas of the landfill, which are distinguished by various irregularities - from cracks and seams on the asphalt to serious potholes. Moreover, each of the sets of tires was tested along a strictly defined route at the same speed.
Belshina, Toyo and Kumho are noisier than others, but they also showed quite a good result. In addition, the GT Radial tires were praised for their "airplane rumble" when driving on rough pavement.
In the smoothness of the ride, “they put everyone on the shoulder blades” Hankook - on them the car distinguished itself by the softest overcoming road bumps. The rest of the tires performed a little worse, with the exception of the GT Radial - it was they who became outsiders in this discipline, transmitting vibrations to the controls and seats from the asphalt, and even missing all the shocks from any bumps.

In addition to the main exercises, all sets of tires were subjected to an additional test, not included in the overall standings - this is the start and movement uphill with a slope of 12% on the ground. Cordiant and Matador row most confidently on such a road, while GT Radial, Pirelli, Hankook, Toyo and Kumho constantly skid, losing traction.

The next test cycle is purely asphalt, where the tires had to “rub against the hard surface”. And the first exercise braking on wet pavement, since here the tread wears out to a minimum extent. At the same time, the area where measurements were taken was thoroughly cleaned of small stones and dust before each race. In addition, one nuance is worth noting here: when the car was moving at a speed of 83-85 km / h and was several blocks away from the starting point of braking, its wheels were wetted using a mobile spray gun. The braking distance was measured when the speed was reduced from 80 to 5 km / h, and not to a maximum stop - in order to eradicate interference with the ABS process.
In the wet, Nokian tires led the way with only 26.2 meters to slow down. On Goodyear, Continental and Pirelli tires, he rolled away only 0.5 meters, and on Belshina he went 31 meters at all (the difference with the “gold medalist” is more than the body of the car).

Braking on dry pavement, also previously cleared of all kinds of debris, was carried out at a speed of 103-105 km / h, but the measurement was carried out when the speed decreased from 100 to 5 km / h. IN this case Pirelli took the lead with 37.5 meters, and Nokian tires, Continental and Goodyear gave them 1, 0.4 and 0.3 meters, respectively. The outsiders are again Belshina, on which the car slowed down as much as 42.9 meters.

The final exercise was rearrangements on wet and dry surfaces”- such a maneuver is the most difficult for drivers. Well, they were performed at the very end for the reason that the rubber here is erased like sandpaper. By itself, the rearrangement is a lane change, in which abrupt maneuvering is simulated. And such an exercise is very relevant, because it often has to be used on a regular road when avoiding obstacles that suddenly appear in front of the car. It serves to assess the complex of transverse grip and slip characteristics of tires, as well as the clarity of vehicle reactions.
The task of the tester during the rearrangement was to determine the maximum possible speed of its implementation. At the same time, the car in this case should not leave the traffic lane limited by cones. On wet pavement, a car “shod” in Goodyear tires was faster than others when changing lanes - 69 km / h. Only 0.5 km/h was lost to the leaders by Pirelli and Continental, but Belshina and GT Radial turned out to be the most “unhurried” – 61 km/h and 61.5 km/h respectively.
Nokian, Pirelli, Nordman and Toyo received the maximum score for wet handling during the rearrangement - the car “flaunted” understandable behavior and clear reactions on them. But the GT Radial tires frankly did not work out with extreme maneuvering - they unexpectedly carried the car into a skid, and then very reluctantly restored the trajectory.
On dry pavement, Nokian tires won the winner's laurels, allowing the car to develop 69.7 km / h. "Silver" went to Continental (69.1 km/h), while Belshina again trailed in the rearguard (65.9 km/h).
The “extreme” handling on dry roads was handled better than others by the same tires as in the same discipline on wet surfaces, although Hankook also joined them. Another thing is interesting - GT Radial tires behaved very predictably here, only slightly losing to the leaders. Well, outsiders are Belshina and Matador.

What is the result? After all the tests, Nokian Hakka Green 2 and Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde tires shared the first and second places - which are practically devoid of negative points. Well, the third and fourth positions went to Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 and Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance - as a result, four sets of tires appeared on the "conditional podium" at once. "Second", by the way, is also not much to reproach for - all their shortcomings come down to small quibbles of the testers.

The ninth and tenth places were shared between Cordiant Sport 3 and Matador Elite 3 - they can be classified as "satisfactory". They showed insufficient grip properties and difficult handling when rearranged. But if you do not reach fanaticism, then these tires are “quite a decent choice.” And from the point of view of efficiency, Matadors are even more attractive - they are cheaper, and they also contribute to fuel economy.

The Chinese GT Radial Champiro FE1 tires can also be classified as “satisfactory” - they save fuel well and are offered at an affordable price. But they also have enough shortcomings - noise, rigidity, low predictability when maneuvering on wet pavement.

But Belshina Artmotion tires, despite the most attractive price tag, closed the “table of ranks”. Although it is worth making a reservation here: despite a whole “bouquet” of shortcomings, the Belarusian “rubber” was ahead of everyone in terms of cost and quality ratio. And here we can only say one thing: "they are not so much worse than their competitors, how much more affordable."

The main task of any tire is to ensure reliable grip of the car with the road. But to create rubber that would retain its working properties in a wide range of temperatures, manufacturers are not yet able to do it. Therefore, there are several categories of tires: winter (and non-studded), summer and all-weather.

Summer - are operated in conditions of high external temperature and heated asphalt. They are tougher and more durable. designed for use at temperatures below zero. They are softer and more elastic, which ensures good grip on snowy roads. less wear-resistant than summer, but more rigid than winter.

Which ones to choose?

The main criteria for evaluating summer tires: what to look for.

Learn more about it in the next video.

The best way to evaluate the parameters listed above is to study the results of objective tests that are regularly conducted by reputable automotive publications.

The best and quietest tires

Today, rubber manufacturers offer consumers a huge range of products. Numerous tests, reviews, as well as consumer reviews are designed to help a potential buyer with a choice.

The only indisputable fact is that you will have to pay for quality, reliability and safety, and it will cost decently.

Having studied several relevant reviews, we have summarized their findings and invite you to familiarize yourself with the models of summer tires that experts consider worthy of attention.

Among the company's products, experts distinguish models EagleF1Asymmetric 2(excellent traction, characterized by high wear resistance, low noise, reduced weight and the use of new technology active braking ActiveBraking) and Hydra Grip(Directional tread pattern provides excellent hydroplaning resistance as well as good wet grip). In turn, users note that the model Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 has weak sidewalls, so the tires are very afraid of pits and curbs. It is also noted that the most high-quality tires are German-made. But Polish, Turkish and Slovenian are significantly inferior to them.

The company can be proud of the models Pilot Sport 3(reduced tire weight, which increases the maneuverability and controllability of the machine; short braking distance, excellent traction on a wet track) and Energy XM2(low rolling resistance, increased strength and wear resistance, unique sidewall design allows you to overcome curbs and pits without damage). Users generally agree with the opinion of experts. But they specify that these tires are not suitable for a sporty driving style, trips on sand, dirt, gravel, grass and mud - on such a surface, handling tends to zero. In addition, users noted poor wear resistance of the model. Pilot Sport 3(enough for no more than 2 seasons). When buying, it is advised to pay attention to the country of origin - the quality is better for German or French products.

Among the company's products, models deserve special attention. Advan V105(asymmetric tread and 5 longitudinal ribs, reduced rolling resistance and improved directional stability on dry and wet roads) and AC02C(excellent machine control and low level noise). Drivers agree with this: model AC02C they are very much appreciated for strong sidewalls, stability and confident braking.

The company is confidently promoting the model in the markets Turanza ER300 with an asymmetrical tread pattern. The model has excellent handling on dry roads, good grip on wet roads and hydroplaning resistance. Among the shortcomings, the stiffness of the tires and a noticeable deterioration in grip with the track as the tread wears out. In addition to this model, popular with drivers are MY-02 Sporty Style(low cost, low noise, floats a little in sharp turns), Turanza T001(high wear resistance, hydroplaning resistance, excellent handling and braking), Potenza RE002 Adrenalin(good stability and handling, but poor wear resistance), Dueler A/T D697(Performs well on light off-road).

And the company is marked by experts for models SportContact 5(short braking distance and excellent handling) and ContiPremiumContact 2(asymmetric tread, high grip on wet and dry roads, comfort). According to users, the products of this company are for a leisurely ride on good roads. After all, soft sidewalls make you wary of any pits, curbs and bumps. The disadvantages of these tires include low wear resistance.

To choose the right summer tires, remember under what conditions you drove last year, objectively evaluate your driving style, the quality of the road surface and your financial capabilities. And remember that it is impossible to choose the perfect tires that are equally suitable for all operating conditions. In any case, you will have to determine the most important tire requirements for you.

Every driver is faced with the problem of choosing summer tires for his car. In addition, the modern choice offered by manufacturers is so wide that it is not so easy to understand the new products. Our rating of summer tires will help you decide. We analyzed the tires of the world's leading brands - Continental, Bridgestone, Nokian. And in terms of parameters, a combination of driving qualities, comfort and technical characteristics was taken into account. But the design and tread pattern was not taken as a separate criterion, since these indicators are individual for each driver.

Behind the top ten - Ukraine ...

Choosing which is the most good tire summer, we focus on several factors, primarily the price. That is why we will start our review with the most economical, and therefore not very high-quality tires. So, Premiorri Solazo V is a model made in Ukraine, and therefore has an affordable price. These tires have been produced not so long ago, only four years, while the reviews of many drivers indicate that the car in such rubber behaves insecurely on the road, while there is no connection between the steering wheel and the tires, which means that it is necessary to control this vehicle and it becomes very difficult to manage. The move is smooth and soft, but at the same time, the rumble in the cabin from the noise of the tread is felt. Such tires cost 2800 rubles in Russia.

… and Italy

Another rubber option is Viatti Strada Asimmetrico V. Made in Italy, it shows a good combination of price and quality. At the same time, it cannot be said that the company creates the best summer tires. For example, rubber is different weak braking, clearly loses to analogues in terms of driving on wet roads, constant steering is required. But at low speed tires behave quite acceptable, and even allow you to maneuver. The noise from the movement of the car on the asphalt is also quite noticeable, so there is no need to talk about comfort in the cabin. The average cost of this model of summer tires starts at 3,500 rubles.

Who is in the top ten?

The Philippine rubber Yokohama C.drive 2 V was included in the ranking of the best summer tires. It appeared on Russian market not so long ago, and its cost is quite high for models of this class, so it cannot be said that it is in great demand among buyers. On the other hand, tires have tolerable technical characteristics, and therefore deserve a place in the top ten. TO positive qualities rubber can be attributed to good rolling, fuel economy at any speed and good stability. Among the minuses are poor braking on wet roads and the same poor handling, for example, when making emergency braking. There is a model in the Russian market from 4300 rubles.

Not the best, but far from the worst, products are also considered Russian manufacturer. What is the best summer tire from Russia (it is also the most famous)? That's right - produced by Cordiant. Our rating includes summer tires Cordiant Sport 2 (PS-501) V. Its main drawback is poor braking on dry roads, but tires behave stably on wet surfaces. Good tires and at high speed, showing excellent directional stability. True, many drivers note a delay in reacting to traffic conditions. Cordiant easily copes with large irregularities, but with small roughness in the cabin, noise is clearly audible. It is better not to use such tires, but you can buy them in Russia at average cost(from 3200 rubles).

french models

The rating of summer tires that are worthy of the attention of drivers includes two rubber models made in France. The first one is Goodyear EfficientGrip V. These tires show good performance when driving on both dry and wet ground, however, at high speed, the tested samples do not differ in smoothness. In France, the emphasis is on comfort and convenience, so there is no noise when driving, even if you leave the city. These tires cost from 4350 rubles.

Another French manufacturer offers to evaluate and make your choice - what is the best summer tire. We are talking about Continental ContiPremium Contact 5 V tires, which are popular with Russian buyers due to their good value for money. During testing, the tires showed excellent results on any surface, while the machine easily makes maneuvers and sharp turns, clearly responding to a specific traffic situation. It is important that the rubber showed excellent performance comfort and convenience, since the tread easily dampens all the noise from road irregularities. In Continental you can buy an average of 4800 rubles.

Hankook: Hungarian response to leaders

To the question “what are the best summer tires”, many drivers answer without any doubt: “Hankook Ventus Prime 2 (K 115)!” They can be safely attributed to the elite summer tires, because during testing they showed excellent running and braking qualities, especially on wet roads. Excellent directional stability even at high speeds is a guarantee that driving will be comfortable and easy. True, there is a minus, which primarily affects comfort: quite a lot of noise, especially when driving at speeds above 80 km / h. average price in Russia is 4000 rubles.

German quality at a price

Summer tires "Michelin" (model Primacy HP V) could not fail to get into our rating. As always, German manufacturer on top: summer tires show excellent braking qualities, hold well in any direction and adequately respond to any changes in the traffic situation. The tires perform well on dry roads, but on wet pavement, the performance drops. True, if you avoid sudden movements, you can minimize the number of demolitions to the side. If the road is good, then there will be practically no noise in the cabin, and small irregularities lead only to sharp shudders. Such tires cost about 4,500 rubles in Russia.

Pirelli: the pride of Romania

Choosing the best summer tires of 2014, we could not ignore the Pirelli Cinturato P7 V model. Probably, in terms of price and quality, this particular summer tire is worthy of attention. Tires are different good performance braking, and behave equally confidently on dry or wet roads. The directional stability of the tires even at high speeds is also excellent. It allows you to make maneuvers and sudden movements along the lanes. Tires from Pirelli are a bit noisy, and small bumps affect the body. You can buy summer tires from a Romanian manufacturer at a price of 3,700 rubles.

Japan: out of competition

Our rating includes three models of summer tires from a Japanese manufacturer. Not the most best performance distinguish tires Dunlop SP Sport 9000 W, which have been on the Russian market for a very long time, and at the same time are in constant demand among buyers. Tires behave disgustingly on dry and wet roads, while they have good directional stability. Summer tires show not the most best level comfort, because when driving in the cabin, noise is clearly audible. Tires behave confidently on a dirt road, and their cost is not the highest - only 2400 rubles.

Much better performance Toyo Praxes T1 Sport W tires. They have been on the Russian market for five years, and during this time many drivers have appreciated the good braking distance on dry and wet roads, as well as excellent directional stability at high speed. Summer tires Toyo Praxes are quite silent, and small bumps are noticeable only by vibration on the body. The average price in the Russian market is from 4400 rubles.

Eternal leader: Bridgestone

So, the first place goes to Potenza S001V. Summer tires produced by a Japanese company are characterized by excellent braking on any type of asphalt - this is the first advantage. The second is good directional stability. The third is the clarity of response to any changes in the road surface, and therefore any extreme maneuvering will be your strong point when driving. Of course, it cannot be said that Bridgestone tires ideal, because, for example, noise during movement is still transmitted to the passenger compartment. And the cost of tires on the Russian market is probably the highest - from 5,000 rubles.

Drawing conclusions

So, we told you about the most popular summer tires on the Russian market. What is the best summer tire - you choose, but you should remember some selection rules.

  1. Taking into account the tread pattern will allow you to choose tires that will be more tenacious to the road surface.
  2. High-speed performance is a guarantee that tires will be resistant to various loads.
  3. Taking into account the height of the profile will allow you to choose tires that match the quality of the road surface.
  4. From composition rubber compound depends on the quality and reliability of tires.

Given these characteristics, as well as the main points of the summer tire rating, you can choose the perfect summer tires for your car.
