At the same time, the new Cayenne not only became larger, but also lost weight. The weight of the car in the basic version is now 1985 kg - 55 kg less than its predecessor. This was achieved by increasing the proportion of aluminum in the body structure (all exterior panels are aluminum) and using the so-called lithium-polymer battery (as on the 911 GT3), which is a good 10 kg lighter than the classic counterpart.

The third generation Cayenne is based on the MLB Evo platform with double wishbones at the front and multi-link at the rear, and all design features borrowed from the Panamera. Thus, the Cayenne has air suspension, adaptive dampers, active stabilizers powered by a separate 48-volt network, and a fully controlled chassis. As for the Turbo version, it differs from the simple "Cayennes" in the two-row light graphics of the fully LED front optics with the Porsche Dynamic Light System. The powerful Cayenne has its own front bumper cladding and distinctive body-coloured fender flares, inside which are placed 21-inch Turbo wheels with tires of different sizes 285/40 in front and 315/35 in the rear. Behind the novelty can be distinguished by the twin exhaust pipes.

Porsche claims to have significantly improved the precision of the Cayenne Turbo. A whole range of measures played into the hands of this: lowering the center of gravity due to the displacement of the engine closer to the ground, the integration of a new adaptive air suspension with three air chambers on each air strut, or, for example, the presence of a Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) body roll suppression system, powered by 48- voltage onboard network.

However, the main highlight of the Cayenne Turbo version is located at the stern. The car received an adaptive roof spoiler, which increases downforce on rear axle and in the Airbrake position reduces braking distances at high speeds.
