The founder of Geely, Li Shufu, was born into a farmer's family. For some time the boy helped his father, and then went to try his luck in the city. In 1986, when Li was 23, he founded a refrigeration component manufacturing company. Three years later, he expanded his activities and began to produce decorative materials and magnolia wood products.
In 1992, an epochal turn in the history of the company's development is planned: Geely signs a cooperation agreement with a major Japanese automaker Honda motor.
