Moreover, since Soviet times, VAZ collaborated with Porsche:

Cooperation with Porsche to develop the design of a new front-wheel drive car VAZ-2108 began at the second stage in 1980.

In January 1980, just after new year holidays, the then general director of VAZ A. Zhitkov appeared at the company, accompanied by the chief designer G. Mirzoev.

The purpose of the visit was to sign a contract, which had already been prepared by that time.

They met with the chairman of the board of the company E. Fuhrmann, the chief designer G. Bottom and his deputy Mr. Ayb, the curator of the future project. For the purpose of secrecy, this project was given the name "Gamma".

As a third technology development firm, Italian company UTS is the technology division of FIAT. The project managers of "Gamma" were appointed: from f. Porsche - Mr. Rainer Srok, head of the body department, and from the VAZ side - J. Nepomnyashchiy, deputy. chief designer.

The first VAZ delegation consisting of J. Nepomnyashchiy, A. Zilpert, Y. Pashin, E. Nosenko and translator G. Krune arrived at Porsche at the end of April 1980.

For joint work with Porsche at VAZ, on the basis of the VAZ-21011 body, a front-wheel drive carrier was manufactured based on the development of UGK designers, which was delivered to the company on April 17.

Work began with the designers and testers of Porsche. It was carried out mainly on the body, engine, gearbox and chassis. A landing layout was made.

For the operational conduct of work at the VAZ, the Gamma group was also created. In general, work in the "triangle" VAZ-Porsche-UTS was carried out very intensively, there was an immediate exchange of information, samples, and delegations.

The first "triple" meeting took place at Porsche in September 1980. G. Mirzoev arrived from VAZ and V. Kadannikov with a whole delegation from Turin.

Upon the arrival of the VAZ delegation, they sat at the firm and worked until late at night, drawing up protocols. The German word Forgang ("forgang") came into use, denoting a message about test results, changes in design, technology. There was a triple exchange of these documents.

Report by Mr. Gorisson

For 20 years now, Porsche has been linked in development with the Russian automobile company AVTOVAZ, which during this time has become a significant partner for us in former USSR and now in Russia.

Despite all political differences and all economic circumstances, this commonwealth between AVTOVAZ and Porsche has evolved into an exemplary contribution by many individuals to a trusting bond between East and West. I would like to tell you about the history, works and some features.

In the mid 70s. Soviet government decided to enable AVTOVAZ to develop from a purely licensed enterprise into a completely independent car manufacturer oriented to the Soviet and European markets.

This decision, and the fact that Porsche is one of the largest technology providers in automotive industry and that Porsche's contacts with the Soviet industry already existed in the 1930s, and contributed to the cooperation between AVTOVAZ and Porsche.

It should not be forgotten that in the face of political, economic and bureaucratic difficulties, the efforts and will of prominent people were required to make this cooperation successful.

Four names should be especially mentioned here: from the Russian side - the then General Director of AvtoVAZ, and later the Minister of the Automotive Industry V. Polyakov, and from the German side - Dr. Ernst Fuhrmann, at one time Chairman of the Board of Porsche.

Both were the initiators of the connection between AvtoVAZ and Porsche and thus opened - as it turned out later - a real window to the West for the Russian automotive industry.

G. Mirzoev, chief designer of AVTOVAZ, and Horst Marhart, current member of the board of the Porsche company, who is responsible for development and research, also contributed to the prompt implementation of the work.

AVTOVAZ-Porsche cooperation can be divided into 4 different phases.

Beginning, between 1975 and 1980. This is, first of all, a proposal for the modernization of the Lada (a car licensed by FIAT) and the Niva.

Then, in the 2nd phase in 1980-84. followed by the joint development of the model 2108 "Samara".

Third phase - 1987-91 - mainly work on a 16-valve engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters and a car "Gamma-2" (2110).

In the last phase of 1989-91. - development of small 3- and 4-cylinder engines for the Oka car.

Russian company KATE was founded in 2004. We develop and plan to master the production of a wide range of automatic transmissions (AT) for the Russian market.

The managerial staff of our enterprise has 20 years of experience in the development, mastering the production of various automotive systems and components, as well as the supply, repair and maintenance of automatic transmissions for Russian market.

Engineering staff - graduates, candidates and doctors of sciences of MSTU. Bauman, one of the best technical universities in Russia, which has retained the school of synthesis of new kinematic schemes and the design of planetary gearboxes for transport vehicles.

Part of our initiatives between 1997 and 2004 was aimed at creating experimental models Russian cars with foreign automatic transmissions: GAZ 3102 with automatic transmission A4 LD from Ford, Moskvich Svyatogor with an F3R Renault engine and automatic transmission 42LE Chrysler, GAZ 66 with a 5.7 liter engine. and automatic transmission 4L60E "Chevrolet", GAZ "Tourist" with a diesel engine "Steyr" and automatic transmission 5R55E with a control system own development, UAZ 3153 with a 3.0 liter engine and automatic transmission 4L60E Chevrolet. Since 2004, the main activity of the company is the development of modern Russian automatic transmissions, the production of prototypes, testing, pre-production and serial production of automatic transmissions. Our company has patented more than 30 different kinematic schemes for automatic transmissions and, based on them, develops 6, 7 and 9-speed automatic transmissions for the entire range of passenger, commercial and trucks.

Specialists of OOO "KATE" actively cooperate with Russian, European and Asian companies, developers and manufacturers of automatic transmission components.

LLC "KATE" has its own high-tech pilot production, which creates and passes bench tests, both prototypes of individual components and automatic transmission systems, and prototypes of complete automatic transmissions, demonstration vehicles with the latest Russian automatic transmissions are being created.

Very soon, small-scale production of the 9-speed automatic transmission KATE R932 will be launched for modern domestic cars F-class. The production will have a high degree automation and meet the highest modern standards quality.

At the same time, a modern assembly production complex with a total area of more than 10,000 m2 on the territory of 8 hectares is being prepared in Kaliningrad for the assembly of advanced automatic transmissions and latest knots and vehicle systems.

Working in our company is an excellent opportunity to create complex, unique and technologically advanced products. domestic development!

Our team welcomes new competent employees!

On the same warm summer days last year, within the framework of the Moscow International automobile exhibition"Motor Show-2005" the team of the company "KATE" for the first time announced to the public about the development of a domestic automatic transmission. And last week, two types of automatic transmissions were presented to the attention of the guests and participants of the exhibition, already really embodied "in iron" and tested by the employees of the experimental design bureau of the KATE company together with the specialists of the department wheeled vehicles MSTU im. Bauman. Evgeny Novitsky, General Director of KATE LLC, assured the journalists that the first of them was a 6-speed automatic transmission RL608 for cars weighing up to 3.5 tons and with a longitudinal engine with a power of up to 200 hp. - on their own quality characteristics not inferior the best transmissions Japanese and German manufacturers. The second automatic transmission is a 7-speed FT703 for front-wheel drive cars weighing up to 2 tons with a transverse engine with up to 127 hp. - generally is the only one in the world. The first prototypes of the FT703 are already being tested and fine-tuned on LADA Kalina cars.

Along with the "birthday people" from "KATE", who did not hide their joy at this event, many distinguished guests were present at the stand, each of whom also appeared in varying degrees the "culprit" of the occasion: the former general director of KATE, and now acting CEO OAO AvtoVAZ Maxim Nagaitsev, Director of the State Research Center of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "NAMI" Alexei Ipatov, Head of the Department of Wheeled Vehicles of the Moscow State Technical University. Bauman Georgy Kotiev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AvtoVAZ OJSC Vladimir Artyakov, Head federal agency in Industry Boris Alyoshin. A year ago, the head of Rosprom publicly blessed the KATE creative team for this very useful and promising business for the country's economy, and the credit of trust was justified. This is probably why Boris Sergeevich did not skimp on kind words that day: “Such undertakings and results are very important, since the main thing we lack in Russia is confidence that could bring us good economic results. This confidence should settle in people to raise our best achievements to the heights of global competitive products! And the example that we all see today allows us to hope for this ... ".

Indeed, the creation of domestic automatic transmissions is a landmark event not only for KATE, but for our entire state. There are less than a dozen manufacturers on the world market, which is 20-25 million automatic transmissions, but so far there have been no Russians among them. Having its own similar high-quality products, our country will also have the right to claim some segment of this market, especially since the demand for automatic transmissions for Russian cars has long arose and continues to grow every day. After all, cars foreign manufacturers with automatic transmissions are quite expensive and actually "fall out" from that part of the Russian car market where the most popular models in the price range from 7 to 11 thousand dollars. Namely, such machines are used in Russia most in demand, if they are sold about 700 thousand annually. Conducted marketing research showed that many Russian citizens are ready to overpay for cars up to 10% in excess of their cost, as long as they are equipped not with mechanical, but with automatic transmissions high level reliability and quality - in order to make driving more convenient, easy and comfortable.

The automatic transmissions created by KATE are an original Russian product protected by 21 invention patents. Combining Russian theory and practice, analysis of Western gearbox designs, our specialists have found the best circuit solutions. In particular, for the automatic transmission RL608 (which will be used on the rear and all-wheel drive vehicles belonging to category "B"), a kinematic scheme was chosen that allows you to implement six gears forward and one transmission reversing. It consisted of three planetary gear sets, three brakes and two blocking clutches. As for the FT703 automatic transmission, it was developed on the basis of an even more unique kinematic scheme: only three planetary gear sets and six controls make it possible to implement seven forward gears with an optimal expansion of the automatic transmission kinematic range. And most importantly: at the moment, there are simply no analogues of the FT703 automatic transmission in the world! In addition, when creating the FT703, it was decided to abandon the use of a torque converter in order to increase efficiency and reduce weight and size characteristics. Thus, in terms of consumer properties, this solution puts the FT703 on a par with such modern transmissions like DSG (Volkswagen), CVT (Nissan) and ZF. And the high unification of parts, together with the use of simple and high-tech solutions, will surely make the FT703 the most affordable in its class.

The availability of new automatic transmissions for consumers is ensured by their cost (RL608 - up to $ 800, FT703 - $ 1000), fuel efficiency and low cost for service. Reducing the number of controls contributes to a better assessment by the driver traffic situation and thus improve traffic safety. Reliability is determined by the original kinematic scheme, a minimum of parts, low dynamic loads and the use of modern CAD / CAE. They differ from foreign automatic transmissions in better side compactness, minimum number of parts, breakdown by gear ratios allowing maximum use dynamic characteristics engine. It only remains to add to the above that the foreign partner of KATE and largest supplier Tsang Yow (Taiwan) became one of the recognized world leaders in the production of components for automatic transmissions. In turn, private entrepreneurs and Vneshtorgbank provided financial support to the developers of the ACP. The production of KATE automatic transmissions will be carried out at a plant in Kaliningrad, where an area of 8 hectares will house a mechanical assembly plant, a test site, a mechanical repair site, as well as a warehouse for assembly and finished products. An administrative building, amenity and auxiliary premises, and a canteen will be erected. The total number of staff will be about 400 people. To ensure production, contracts have already been concluded with component manufacturers from Europe, Asia and America, some of the components are produced at domestic enterprises, in the future it is planned to increase the share of orders at domestic enterprises.

Opening assembly plant will take place at the end of this year, and KATE plans to reach its design capacity in 2007. The production structure will include 4 production lines: up to 100,000 FT703 automatic transmissions will be assembled annually at the first one, and 50 thousand RL608 automatic transmissions will be assembled at the second one. On the third line, it is assumed that the production of 100 thousand promising models front-wheel drive transmission, and on the fourth - the assembly of 10 thousand automatic transmissions for trucks and military equipment. The total productivity of the enterprise in the aggregate should be 260 thousand automatic boxes per year.

Dedicated to the development of a method for synchronizing gear couplings in planetary box gears.

The ultimate goal of the experimental study is to confirm the theoretical conclusions of the thesis about the possibility of alignment angular velocities links connected by a gear coupling, due to a corresponding change in the speed of the drive shaft of the gearbox (engine). The KATE R932 gearbox developed at FSUE "NAMI" was studied. The experimental part of the work was carried out on the Axiline test bench from Super Flow Technologies Group (Figure 1).

Picture 1. General form Axiline transmission stand.

The stand is equipped with an engine internal combustion(VAZ 21126), which is connected through the flywheel and damper to the drive shaft of the automatic planetary gearbox. The transmission cooling system is connected to the gearbox, which incorporates an oil-water heat exchanger. The water circuit of the heat exchanger is combined with the engine cooling circuit. The transmission control unit (TCU) was used to control the transmission, data collection is carried out by the LTR‑EU‑2‑5 data acquisition and processing system (Figure 2). The driven shaft of the gearbox is connected to the brake electric machine by means of an adapter.

The following sensors were also used in the stand:

  • automatic transmission mode (0 ... 5 V);
  • output shaft speed (0…9000 Hz);
  • speed input shaft(0…9000 Hz);
  • temperature in the tray (0…200 °С);
  • torque 0…1000 (Nm).

An oscillogram with the results of one of the tests performed is shown in Figure 6.

  • The method of synchronization of gear couplings is used in LLC "NII "Mekhmash".

Now these cars are equipped with only five-speed mechanical boxes gear own production

VLADIVOSTOK, May 29, PrimaMedia. The wife of the general director of Russian Technologies, Sergei Chemezov, Ekaterina, is also involved in technology. It is she who is the main owner of Kate LLC, which has developed an automatic transmission that can be installed on Lada, the Vedomosti newspaper reports. Now Lada Kalina It is completed only with five-speed manual gearboxes of its own production. The price of a car varies from 260,000 to 320,000 rubles. Installing an automatic machine will increase the price of a car by 35,000–50,000 rubles, Mikhail Pak, an analyst at IFC Metropol, calculated.

From left to right: Silvio Berlusconi, Dmitry Medvedev, Sergei Chemezov (November 6, 2008)

The general public first heard about Katya LLC in 2005 - then several high-ranking officials came to the presentation of a little-known company during the Moscow Motor Show at once: Rosoboronexport CEO Sergey Chemezov (now head of Russian Technologies), Boris Aleshin (at that time the head Rosprom), top managers of VTB. The company was founded in 2004 by a group of graduates of the Moscow State Technical University. Bauman, and its main achievement is the development of automatic six- and seven-speed gearboxes.

It turned out that Ekaterina Chemezov's wife also contributed to this development. “Together with her friends, she organized this business [LLC Katya], where Maxim Nagaitsev, the current vice president of AvtoVAZ, used to work,” Chemezov told Vedomosti. “The company planned to start producing these boxes in Kaliningrad. The walls near the factory "We already have, we hope that it will start working next year. Now, as far as I know, they are looking for partners. Presumably, the German ZF will become it."

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the founders of Kate LLC are Ekaterina Ignatova with a 70% share; 30% - from the general director of "Kate" Yevgeny Novitsky. Novitsky refused to talk to Vedomosti yesterday.

The Katya plant was supposed to start work in 2007, its estimated capacity is 260,000 transmissions per year, it was reported in 2007. The investors of the LLC were VTB (a VTB representative does not comment on this) and private investors. Katya has already received a site for a plant in Kaliningrad, Mikhail Karapysh, Minister of Industry of the Kaliningrad Region, told Vedomosti.

Automatic transmissions "Kate" - the first "automatic" Russian development. According to company representatives, Lada Kalina with automatic transmission has already passed the first tests.

A few years ago, Nagaitsev said that both AvtoVAZ (25% controlled by Russian Technologies) and other Russian car factories could become Katya's clients.

ZF did not respond to Vedomosti's request. A representative of AvtoVAZ declined to comment, according to Vedomosti.

REFERENCE(according to the official website of the company): The Russian company "KATE" was founded in 2004. We develop and plan to master the production of automatic transmissions (ACP) for the Russian market. The managerial staff of our company has 10 years of experience in the supply, repair and maintenance of automatic transmissions in the Russian market within the framework of the Tacho Transmission company. Engineering staff - graduates of Moscow State Technical University. Bauman, one of the best technical universities in Russia. Part of their initiatives in the period from 1997 to 2000. was aimed at creating experimental models of Russian cars with foreign automatic transmissions:

1997- GAZ 3102 with automatic transmission A4 LD from Ford

1998- "Svyatogor" (engine F 3 R "Renault") with automatic transmission 42 LE "Chrysler"

1998- GAZ 66 with a 5.7 liter engine. and automatic transmission 4 L 60E "Chevrolet"

1999– GAZ "Tourist" with a diesel engine "Steyr" and automatic transmission 5 R 55 E with a controller of its own design and a program

2000- UAZ 3153 with a 3.0 liter engine and automatic transmission 4 L 60E "Chevrolet"

At this stage of our project, we are looking for suppliers of various automatic transmission components: torque converters and pump components; components of planetary mechanisms; friction controls; Components electrical system controls (solenoid valves, sensors, connectors and controllers); gaskets, seals, bearings and other accessories.

automatic transmission(AT) FT703 is developed on the basis of a unique kinematic scheme synthesized and patented by KATE. Only three planetary gears and six control elements make it possible to implement seven forward gears with an optimal partition of the AT kinematic range. At the same time, the low loading of the links contributes to the creation of a reliable and compact design. This allows us to say that at the moment there are actually no analogues of the AT FT703.

1. Technical specifications

The 7-speed AT FT703 is designed for use on front-wheel drive cars gross weight up to 2 t with transverse arrangement power plant, developing a maximum torque of not more than 175 N * m.

Estimated resource - not less than 300,000 km of car run.

2. gear ratios

3. Kinematic range - 7.113.

4. Efficiency of the planetary mechanism

5. Design features.

When creating the AT FT703, it was decided to abandon the use of a complex hydrodynamic transmission in order to increase efficiency and reduce weight and size characteristics.

Compact planetary gear and the rational arrangement of controls in the AT FT703 make it possible to achieve its minimum dimensions (the axial dimensions of the AT FT703 are smaller than the axial dimensions of the five-speed transmission of VAZ cars of the tenth family)

Ensuring low relative peripheral speeds of the discs in the off friction controls allows reducing power costs during free rotation, and low pressures on their surfaces significantly increase wear resistance and, consequently, resource friction clutches.

High unification of parts, together with the use of simple and high-tech solutions, makes the AT FT703 the most affordable in its class.
