Price: from 3,900,000 rubles.

The crossover was presented to the public in 2005, at Frankfurt Motor Show. The first generation model immediately gained immense popularity in Europe and won several prestigious automotive awards. Exactly 10 years after the debut of the model, the developers decided to release new modification- second generation crossover.

Presentation new Audi Q7 2018-2019 took place at the Detroit Auto Show. Experts and analysts immediately noticed that the model has become more advanced and modern in terms of engineering. It is worth noting the modernization of the exterior, as well as some changes in the cabin.

Now we will try to discuss in detail all aspects of the machine.

Audi Q7 Design Review

Every car enthusiast who has been watching Audi for a long time will immediately say that new model made in the already traditional style of the concern. Common features viewed from both the Audi Q3 and even the station wagon A6.

The opinions of critics are divided - some argue that such "cloning" only helped to improve the car, and the rest - that the model has lost its individuality. Probably, it should be recognized that both sides are right, because the car has really become more modern in appearance, but has lost its originality a little.

Looking at the car from the front, one cannot fail to notice a huge hexagonal fake radiator grille surrounded by chrome. Also on the powerful bumper are slightly “squinted” headlights. It is worth noting that, depending on the configuration, xenon and LED “stuffing” of optics will be available. On the same level with them is the signature silver Audi badge. At the bottom of the bumper are two large symmetrical air intakes. Two ribbed oblong lines on the hood are designed to improve streamlining, and the angle of inclination windshield and the shape of the roof - make the aerodynamic properties almost ideal.

From a side view Audi car Q7 2018 resembles an arrow, which at any moment can rush forward at the speed of sound. This impression is due to the elongated shape of the car and the low "sharp" bumper. It is worth noting the drop-down roof, which without a doubt gives the car an even more aesthetic appearance. bloated wheel arches, hide elegant branded rims underneath. The developers decided by reducing the side windows to make the doors large and spacious. Probably, everyone must decide for himself how successful this idea was.

The Q7 2017 backside design style is slightly different from the general handwriting. The designers decided to design a practical multifunctional trunk and rear bumper, slightly inferior in elegance. On the door luggage compartment a small rear window and modern optics fit harmoniously, on the same level with which, as in the front, the company logo flaunts. On a small, neat bumper, the engineers placed the exhaust tips and diffuser symmetrically.

The overall dimensions have changed when compared to previous version, and this is not surprising, since last years the style and vector of development of the industry as a whole have changed. The dimensions are as follows:

  • length - 5.052 m;
  • width - 1.968 m;
  • height - 1.74 m;
  • wheelbase - 2.99 m;
  • clearance - from 14.5 cm to 23.5 cm;
  • KLS - 0.32 Cx.

If we talk separately about the clearance, then it is worth noting that its size depends on the configuration. For example, in the premium class, the ability to adjust the clearance level in the full available range is available.

The 2018 Audi Q7 engineers made several successful decisions regarding the body material, favoring lightweight aluminum. Therefore, now the mass of the car is from 1970 kg to 1995 kg, depending on the type of power unit.

Salon

The interior space of the Audi Q7 is simply mesmerizing. When you see him live for the first time, you will understand what he is talking about.

By changing the size of the car, the developers managed to make the interior larger and more spacious. In the most spacious configuration, 7 people can be in the car at the same time. But even as standard, all 5 passengers will be able to enjoy comfort.

The creators of Q7 2017 decided not to burden the panel and center console with many different buttons and switches and preferred minimalism and compactness, but this did not diminish their clarity and versatility.

The engineers paid special attention to driver comfort. The high-tech modern steering wheel, which can be adjusted in two planes, will allow you to get incredible pleasure from the driving process. The two front seats are equipped with electric controls and multi-level heating. It is worth noting that the design of the body, windows and mirrors in particular, gives the driver excellent visibility and almost eliminates the appearance of "blind spots".

The instrument panel and touch screen are deployed at a special angle relative to the driver to reduce the time the driver is distracted from the road while manipulating the instruments.

The rear passengers of the Audi Q7 2018 are also not deprived of amenities and almost all the amenities will be available for them, as well as in the front row.

Also impressive is the trunk volume of the novelty, which is as much as 890 liters, and with the rear row of seats folded down - 2075 liters. Which without a doubt is a huge plus for automakers.

The crossover is equipped with many features. Now we will consider the possibilities of the average configuration provided to us:

  • multimedia system with a modern touch screen;
  • massage function on the front seats;
  • electroregulation and multi-level heating of the front row of seats;
  • high-tech screen on the dashboard;
  • projector;
  • modern climate control (for 2 and 4 zones);
  • high-quality audio system;
  • LED interior lighting;
  • parktronic;
  • panoramic sunroof;
  • various " smart systems", helping to control the traffic situation;
  • state-of-the-art cruise control;
  • night vision camera with motion sensor.

It is worth noting separately the cruise control, which has been completely modernized. The system successfully performs all functions within speeds up to 60 km/h.

Specifications Audi Q7

Type Volume Power Torque Overclocking Max Speed Number of cylinders
Petrol 2.0 l 252 HP 370 H*m 6.9 sec. 233 km/h 4
Diesel 3.0 l 249 HP 600 H*m 6.9 sec. 225 km/h V6
Petrol 3.0 l 333 HP 440 H*m 6.1 sec. 250 km/h V6

Now we come to the most interesting discussion. Indeed, the Audi company has always pleased us with fantastic stuffing, let's see what surprise they gave us this time.

Surprisingly, despite the fact that the engines have become much more powerful, average consumption fuel decreased by 25%.

Also a positive point is the system accessible to all. all-wheel drive.

Regardless of the type of power unit, an eight-speed automatic transmission is installed.

The engineers decided to completely change and improve the control system. In the basic version, a modern electric power steering is available, but in older trim levels it is present, borrowed from the Porsche 911 model, special system, allowing to further increase the angle of rotation rear wheels by 5 degrees.

Traditionally, there are many motors to choose from for motorists. Now let's figure out what each available engine is.

Let's start with two main strengths. Audi units Q7 2017:

  1. The first of these is a turbodiesel, with a volume of 3 liters, capable of producing 272 horsepower at 600 Nm. The acceleration time from zero to hundreds takes 6.3 s, which can be called a fantastic result, given the weight of the car is almost two tons. The maximum speed is 234 km / h. Fuel consumption in mixed mode - 5.7 liters.
  2. The base gasoline engine is also a 3-liter power unit, with a capacity of 333 horsepower at 440 Nm. Acceleration time from zero to hundreds - 6.1 s. The maximum speed is 250 km / h. The level of average fuel consumption does not exceed 7.7 liters.

In order for everyone to choose the most suitable option for themselves, the creators offered several more types of power units.

Separately, we note six-cylinder engine Q7, with a volume of 3 liters, capable of delivering 218 horsepower at 500 Nm. And a petrol 2-liter version, with a power of 252 horsepower at 370 Nm.

An excellent option for fans of environmentally friendly technologies will be a hybrid equipped with a three-liter diesel engine, with a power of 258 horsepower and a 94 kW electric motor. With a combined effort, they will be able to produce 373 horsepower at 700 Nm. The acceleration time from zero to hundreds will not exceed 6 s. With all this, fuel consumption is also surprising - 1.7 liters.

Under the condition of movement only due to the electric motor, the car can cover a maximum of 56 kilometers without recharging.

The volume of the fuel tank is 100 l.

Price Audi Q7 2018

Without a doubt, new crossover can safely be called one of the best in this class.

The model combines the capabilities of a high-speed and city car. At the same time, premium models and excellent family car. It is its practicality and versatility that attract motorists.

Maybe, price policy the new Ku7 is not very loyal to people with average incomes, but this does not affect the desire of people to ride in a new crossover.

In mid-December 14, the German automaker introduced the long-awaited second-generation Audi Q7 II in a new body. world premiere model took place at the motor show in Detroit two thousand and fifteenth, and the Europeans for the first time were able to get acquainted with the SUV live at the spring exhibition in Geneva.

Judging by the photo, the appearance of the new Audi Q7 2019 (photo and price) has undergone evolutionary changes - the car remained completely recognizable from the outside, but more sharp edges appeared in the design of its exterior, so now the Ku 7 looks more sporty and lean, having lost its former obesity.

Options and prices Audi Q7 2019

AT8 - 8-speed automatic, quattro - four-wheel drive, D - diesel

The car received a new, larger radiator grille with horizontal rather than vertical ribs, completely new lighting technology ( head optics can be xenon, LED and matrix), other bumpers, more embossed sidewalls with less convex wheel arches.

Salon Audi Ku 7 New has undergone more significant changes. Here is a completely new front panel, steering wheel, instruments and a completely different center console and dashboard, which houses the original gear lever. The central vents of the ventilation system are visually integrated with the panel overlay and resemble a similar solution on the Passat B8.

The MMI infotainment display is available in 7.0- or 8.3-inch displays, with a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument cluster available for a surcharge, as previously debuted on the Audi TT. Also among the many options are a powerful 1920-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system with 23 speakers and an entertainment complex for rear passengers with two 10.1 inch tablets.

Specifications

Compared to its predecessor, the second-generation Audi Q7 has become as much as 325 kg lighter. Now basic version an all-terrain vehicle with a gasoline engine weighs 1,970 kg, and with a diesel engine - 1,995. The weight was also reduced due to the lightweight body, the frame of which is made of ultra-high-strength hot-formed steel, and the hood, front fenders and doors are made of aluminum.

In terms of overall dimensions, the Audi Q7 2019 has become a little shorter and narrower than the cars of the previous generation. The length of the novelty is 5,050 mm (-37), the wheelbase is 2,990, the width is 1,970 (-15), the height is 1,740. In the version with optional air suspension (can change ground clearance within 90 millimeters), the maximum clearance reaches marks in 235 mm.

The trunk volume of the car in the seven-seater version is 295 liters. If you fold the third row of seats, then the volume of the compartment will increase to 890 liters. And with the backs of the second row folded down, a hold of 2,075 liters is obtained. The second row seats can be moved in the range of 110 mm, and each backrest has an individual slope.

Moreover, despite the slightly reduced dimensions car, the manufacturer claims that the interior of the new Audi Ku 7 has become more spacious. Headroom has increased by 41 mm in front and 23 mm in the rear, and the distance between the first and second rows of seats has increased by 21 mm.

In the European market, the SUV debuted with two 3.0-liter turbo engines. Gasoline produces 333 hp. (440 Nm), and diesel - 272 hp. and 600 Nm. Both are aggregated in tandem with an 8-band automatic. Acceleration from standstill to hundreds in the first case takes 6.1 seconds (the average consumption in the combined cycle is declared at 7.7 liters per hundred), in the second - 6.3 seconds, but the consumption is only 5.7 l / 100 km .

Later, the initial 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI engine with 252 hp appeared in the line. (370 Nm), as well as an ultra-efficient three-liter diesel TDI ultra, developing 218 forces and 500 Nm of torque. WITH latest car gaining a hundred in 7.1 s, the maximum speed reaches 216 km / h, and the average consumption in the combined cycle is declared at the level of 5.5 liters per hundred kilometers. But even more economical is the Q7 hybrid modification. e-tron quattro.

The latter includes a 258-horsepower 3.0-liter TDI diesel engine, a 94 kW electric motor integrated into the automatic transmission and a set of lithium-ion batteries. The total output of such an installation is 373 hp. (700 Nm).

From zero to hundreds of hybrid Audi Q7 II can accelerate in 6.0 seconds. maximum speed is equal to 225 km / h, and only on electric traction it is able to overcome up to 56 kilometers.

The company says its Audi Q7 e-tron quattro is the world's first plug-in hybrid with a six-cylinder diesel and full all-wheel drive, not electric. At the same time, its average consumption in the combined cycle is declared at the level of 1.7 liters per hundred kilometers. In reality, of course, the result will not be so modest.

Among the others technical features off-road vehicle, the optional fully-controlled adaptive chassis deserves attention. Here, as on some versions of the Porsche 911, rear wheels can turn at a small angle: against turning the front ones at low speeds and in the same direction at high speeds.

Plus, the all-wheel drive system has undergone modernization - now the self-locking center differential is integrated into the gearbox, which made it more compact and lighter.

In normal mode, the thrust is distributed between the axles in a ratio of 40:60 in favor of the rear wheels. But if necessary, the differential can transfer up to 70% of the torque to the front wheels, or up to 85% to the rear.

What is the price

The acceptance of orders for an all-terrain vehicle in Russia started in the spring of the fifteenth, today the price of the new Audi Q7 2019 starts from 4,150,000 rubles for versions with three-liter “sixes” (both petrol and diesel). But for the initial version with a 2.0-liter TFSI, we are asked from 3,665,000 rubles. At the beginning of the seventeenth, a “warmed up” appeared, equipped with a 435-horsepower 4.0-liter V8 diesel engine, but it is not delivered to us.

In heavy and powerful crossovers, the brakes are usually a very vulnerable node. For a car with a gross weight of 2,200 kg and a power of 300 hp or more. the braking system works in very harsh conditions, even with relatively active traffic in city traffic. What can we say about cases when the driver really “burns out” ... Everything is complicated by puddles on the roadway, ubiquitous sand, traffic jam - gas to the floor - traffic jam, and sometimes braking from a speed of over 200 on the highway.

Pictured: Audi Q7 3.0 TDI quattro (4L)" 2009–15

Brake discs with a diameter of 350 mm and six-piston calipers already cope with such a load to the limit. And therefore, for those who for some reason imagine themselves driving racing car on a two-ton crossover, among the options offered were those that were not afraid of such a load, although they did not provide normal braking when unheated, not to mention the considerable price of such a solution.

Resource brake pads and disks is a very modest 20-30 thousand kilometers, and the disks often go no longer than one set of pads. With “stepped” braking, accurate and calm movement and extremely professional use of brakes, the life of discs and pads increases by two or three times, but most ordinary users of these machines had and still have complaints about the life of the brake system components.

“Collisal losses” also include sensor failures. ABS systems, damage to the wiring of racks, casings of air springs, body level sensors and rapidly aging brake fluid. Don't be surprised by the unoriginal brake discs on a car with mileage up to 70-100 thousand, this is quite a typical case. The rest is nothing to complain about. The ABS works well, complaints about excessive braking in corners and on bumps are rare, it does not cut off the fixing pin, because it simply does not have time to rust between disk replacements, and parking brake proved to be quite reliable.

Suspension and steering

Suspension big crossover, and even pretending to be sporty, on wheels with "duct tape" too great resource should not differ even theoretically. In practice it is. A hundred thousand kilometers even in the city - and it's time to sort out the front suspension. It will require at least the replacement of silent blocks lower arm and top ball joint. And if there is an optional “pneuma”, then the price of all problems increases by an order of magnitude, and the fee for negligence (i.e., an old dryer, lack of weekly washing of air springs and checking wiring) can make up a substantial part of the price of a car of the first years of production. It is not surprising that Q7 before restyling often already have a "collective farm" in the form spring suspension instead of pneumatics, or they regularly go to gas stations to be pumped up, because the pump cannot cope with leaks or is out of order.

Pictured: front suspension brake mechanisms. 120 thousand kilometers.

Pneumatic strut

original price

According to some owners of Q 7, the car is better controlled on springs, but pneumatics is excellent comfort with quite tolerable handling, so it justifies its price. In general, if you are looking for a cheaper Q7, then I recommend that you think about whether you can also pull the regular costs of the suspension.

The steering was distinguished only by frequent drips of the rack and a small resource of steering tips, especially on cars with V 8 engines and low profile tires. This is to be expected for city driving, with frequent steering wheel turns to lock and wheels spinning in place.

But the price of repairs is not even comparable to the prices of suspension and brake repairs, so the main risks in this case- this is not recognizing a rail leak and being left without power steering away from services. Without the help of the amplifier, the steering wheel is extremely heavy - this can simply lead to an accident.

Transmission

From this side, special tricks can not be expected. Mechanical transmission is very reliable, and the simplified design transfer box without a downshift only makes it stronger. CV joints, cardan shafts and gearboxes are made with a good margin and withstand everything except the 6.0 diesel. If they “anneal” with such a motor, then the shafts are literally twisted, the gearboxes are torn off the subframes, and the teeth are cut off. This is not to mention the automatic transmission resource.

Mechanical boxes, which are occasionally found with 3.6 engines and a 3.0 diesel engine, do not cause any special questions, except that the resource of a two-mass flywheel is limited to literally a hundred or one and a half hundred thousand mileage, but it costs a lot. Yes, and the clutch burns pretty quickly due to the suboptimal selection of gear ratios - the first gear is "long".

With automatic transmission, everything is quite expected and standard. With diesel engines 3.0, 4.2 and with most of the petrol V 8 4.2 before restyling installed Aisin box TR 60SN, the same one that can be found on the TLC 200 and platform Cayenne and Touareg. It has rather conservative settings and, with a calm driving style, has an impressive resource by modern standards for 250-300 thousand kilometers. Joy is overshadowed by the capricious valve body of the box, which is easily contaminated by wear products of the gas turbine engine blocking linings during active movement, which is typical for the style of use of such machines. In addition, the automatic transmission radiator is small, the oil regularly overheats to temperatures over 120 degrees, which increases the chances of problems.

On the picture: Audi interior Q7 4.2 quattro (4L)" 2005–09

In general, even reliable automatic transmission cannot work a miracle, and most drivers have problems associated with twitches and delays in switching after a run of 100-120 thousand kilometers. Fortunately, the design of this automatic transmission makes it possible, with a minimal (albeit expensive) repair, to restore the gas turbine engine and the full performance of the unit without mechanical breakdowns.

On cars with automatic transmission ZF 6HP 21 / 6HP 19, which were installed with 3.6 and 4.2 engines, everything is noticeably more complicated. These automatic transmissions were among the first where the gearbox control unit was moved inside the box itself, thus obtaining a node called "mechatronics", and at the same time tried to reduce operating pressure to the minimum. It turned out to be ambiguous.

The very aggressive use of the GDT slip lock, the sliding shifting of the main clutches, the use of mainly linear solenoids, made it possible to obtain impressive dynamics and economy. But the integrated design turned out to be very vulnerable to pollution and overheating, and with such strict operation algorithms, they simply cannot be avoided.

In general, in addition to wear and tear of mechatronics, the problems of which are many times more expensive than those of a “normal” valve body and control system, here full set mechanical problems. Clutches wear out quickly due to the peculiarities of the algorithm, contamination and burning due to high temperature, problems with oil pressure, wear of box bushings, damage to drums and planetary gears appear. And of course, the resource of the gas turbine engine is small, in the region of hundreds of thousands.

Pictured: Audi Q7 4.2 quattro (4L)" 2005–09

To the credit of this type of boxes, they endure the toughest starts and race for a while even better than more old transmission Aisin, but then comes the inevitable retribution in the form expensive repairs and frequent crashes. Moreover, in this case, five or six years is already a big age for the box, often it is already ready to go for a major overhaul.

With 6.0 engines, they also installed a reinforced version of this ZF 6HP 32 automatic transmission, and the gain was clearly not enough, because contract units are in short supply. The motor successfully "folds" the box already at a very low mileage. But gasoline sports cars will envy the dynamics - this cannot be taken away.

On cars after 2011, an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission of the 8HP 45 series with a start-stop function appeared. Even at such a ridiculous age, according to "transmission" standards, she managed to earn the glory of being superbly unreliable, having a phenomenally small resource and, moreover, extremely expensive and difficult to repair. Although we have to admit that the efficiency of the new 3.0 TFSI in combination with such a box is impressive.

For more information about the features of the operation of eight-stages, see here I will not dwell on these boxes in detail. Moreover, there are, fortunately, relatively few cars with this combination of engine and automatic transmission.

Motors

With Audi Q 7 engines, the situation is ambiguous. If you want a minimum of problems, take diesel options 3.0 TDI and 4.2 TDI are the most common. Quite “average” in all respects, the VR 6 3.6 FSI gasoline for such a heavy machine, even in the most powerful modification, was rather weak, besides, difficulties with chains, not the most successful piston and power system left no chance for trouble-free operation. But against the background of a 4.2 FSI, 3.0 TFSI gasoline engine and the problems of cars with a 6.0 diesel engine, even this VR 6 looks good. Below are some details.

Timing chain 3.6 lower

original price

There are few common problems with motors. The cooling system on the Q 7 was made with a margin, only on older gasoline engines, the risks of leaks due to pipe cracking increase with age, and diesel engines generally feel great. I have already talked about the problems of electricians, except that diesel starters fail more often than usual, especially for some reason on restyled cars.

"Main" motor Q 7 is a series of diesel 3.0 V 6 in different options. Quite successful "cast iron" has an intricate chain timing, similar to the extremely unsuccessful gasoline 4.2, but at a lower oil temperature and lower operating speeds, it lasts one and a half times more. Difficulties with injectors and the intake manifold, the presence of unsuccessful modifications of the injection pump against the background of other costs for the car usually do not cause a serious negative. Moreover, the dynamics are more than decent for a “car”, and fuel consumption of up to 14-15 liters per hundred can be considered outstanding.

In the photo: Under the hood of the Audi Q7 3.0 TDI quattro (4L) "2006–09

The first thing to check when buying fuel filters for chips. It is believed that cars after restyling with engines with the CASA index are subject to misfortune, but in practice, older engines also suffer from the same ailment. As a result of problems with the high-pressure fuel pump, the entire fuel system becomes contaminated, and the replacement of the “culprit” itself no longer saves. Chips from the tank will disable the next set of nozzles and the pump - a comprehensive replacement or cleaning is necessary here.

Timing Belt/Injection Pump 3.0 TDI

original price

The intake manifold on pre-styling cars is another source of problems, but since they appeared with a run of up to 30-60 thousand, the chances of finding a car with this problem tend to zero. Well, except for purposefully looking for a car with a minimum mileage from the owner, who has not heard about recall campaigns ...

There are two turbines on this diesel engine, they have a large resource, they can withstand more than 150 thousand, if poured good oil and do not drive through puddles after “annealing” - hot “snails” corny crack when water gets in. The oil and antifreeze supply pipes require attention - corrosion, high temperature and dirt lead to leaks, and there it is not far from the capital of the motor.

Diesel 4.2 essentially differs from 3.0 a little. The resource is even higher, though the taxes will be higher. Unfortunately, the risks for EGR systems, and cylinder head corrosion is more pronounced. Well, do not forget that an automatic transmission with such an engine is very difficult - the resource is reduced by a good third, and the chances of problems with the mechanics of the box increase.

Audi Q7 3.0 TDI quattro (4.2 TDI quattro)

In the photo: Under the hood of the Audi Q7 4.2 TDI "2007–09

Gasoline VR 6 3.6 - perhaps the most successful of the gasoline engines. I have already mentioned the main difficulties with chains and a light oil burner, and all FSI engines have common problems with soot, injectors and fuel pumps. A small resource of ignition modules, oil leaks and monstrous cylinder head design and intake are simply a consequence of layout decisions, and they are not serious shortcomings.

In the photo: Engine 3.6 FSI ( engine compartment prepared for renovation).

Here is a good resource piston group, low fuel consumption, maintainability of the design and ease of maintenance of Q 7 with such an engine (even compared to diesel engines!) Are undoubted advantages. In some cases, a 3.6 petrol car may even be cheaper to operate than a diesel one.

Here are the 4.2 FSI engines - this is a real failure. In addition to power problems, there are also great chances for scuffing of the aluminum piston group, difficulties with intake tightness, with an oil pump, with an oil burner, with timing chains, attachments and the control system ... The saddest thing is that the problem is not solved with money - even replacing the motor with a new one, you only reduce the chances of problems with low mileage. "Happy" owners of new cars with runs up to 60 sometimes managed to replace two motors under warranty. Do you need it now, when the warranty is no longer valid, and the chances of a “kulanz” (extended warranty) are illusory? What if the cylinder block cracked?

The only case when buying a Q7 with 4.2 FSI justified - if the motor is already dying, and the owner offers a very good discount. After making sure that everything else is more or less in order (which is not always the case), you can buy a car purposefully under, since with relatively minor alterations, an older gasoline engine will fit here V8 from Touareg or Audi A8.

The brand new 3.0 TFSI became famous right away. The manufacturer attributed the seizures of the piston group to ... an unsuccessful thermostat. Of course downgrade operating temperature motor reduces the risk of detonation and the load on the aluminum coating, but apparently, the problem was simply postponed until after the guarantee.

There were motor replacements, but most owners did not even receive an updated piston group, only firmware and a thermostat. Other than the risk of failure, the motor looks like a miracle modern technologies. Excellent traction and power, and fuel consumption - as low as diesels, although given the difficulties with the piston, a car with 3.0 TFSI it is better to "feed" the AI-98.

To take or not to take?

Once again, a phrase about the price of a yacht that you can’t afford climbs into your head. Audi's "second flagship" turned out to be very wasteful in operation, and the number of problems inherent in the design is quite significant. In the case of the Audi Q7 a cloudless future does not guarantee either a small age or modest mileage even if he is honest. Such a car must be bought with one of the "junior" diesel engines, carefully selected and diagnosed, and still have hundreds of fifteen hundred rubles just "for expenses". Does the amount seem significant? Then Audi Q7 is not for you.

06.11.2016

AudiQ7- an all-wheel drive seven-seater SUV that has been on the market for more than 10 years. Buying used premium car, You seem to be playing roulette, in which you can become lucky, and during the operation you can only do scheduled maintenance, or you can put everything at stake, and after a couple of thousand kilometers, start investing fabulous money in repairs. The Audi Q7 looks very prestigious and expensive, but after 5-6 years it is sold on the secondary market for a third of the price. But what makes the owners part with their car, and at the same time lose a lot of money, now let's try to figure it out.

A bit of history:

The debut of the Audi Q7 took place in 2006 at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The car is made in Slovakia and has common platform With " Volkswagen Touareg" And " Porsche Cayenne". Q7 is a full-size crossover and is the largest in the company's SUV lineup. In 2009, the car went through a facelift and since then its exterior has not changed. Then the car received an updated radiator grille, headlights slightly increased, and a modified hood with a more expressive relief of lines was installed on the car. Side sections appeared in the front bumper, in which direction indicators are installed. The profile of models produced before 2009 and after can be distinguished by the side mirrors, the shape of the door sills and the design rims. Restyled version built on a modernized platform PL71» with a wheelbase of 3.0 meters.

Advantages and disadvantages of the Audi Q7 with mileage.

The body of the car is qualitatively processed anti-corrosion materials, so rotten Audi Q7 is a rarity. And here paintwork has a drawback, in places of chips and damage, the paint, over time, begins to peel off in large pieces. Once every 3-4 years door handles the button fails, it only changes when assembled with the handle. It happens that the optics lose their tightness and begin to fog up, and LEDs often fail. the main problem headlights is that, due to their high cost, they are often stolen (the cost new headlight about 1000 USD). The battery is under driver's seat and to replace it, it is better to contact the service. The fact is that even if you replace it yourself, you still have to go to the dealer to register it in the control unit.

Power units

Audi Q7 is equipped with petrol and diesel engines different power– FSI 3.6 (280 hp), 4.2 (350 hp); TDI 3.0 (233, 240 hp), 4.2 (326 hp), 6.0 (500 hp); TFSI 3.0 (272, 333 hp). In the secondary market among gasoline engines the most widely used engine is 4.2. As operating experience has shown, this power unit rarely presents unpleasant surprises to its owners. When buying a car with a mileage of more than 100,000 km, listen to how it works cold engine if you hear ringing sounds or diesel rumble, it means that it's time to change the timing chain (on average, the chain needs to be replaced every 200,000 km). Replacing a chain at a dealer is not a cheap pleasure, about 3000 USD, in a garage service station they will ask for half as much. The 3.6 engine is considered the most optimal, both in terms of fuel consumption and reliability. Weak point of this power unit are considered ignition coils (fail every 70-80 thousand km). The timing chain stretches closer to 200,000 km. The Audi Q7 has 4 timing chains, and in order to replace them, you need to remove the engine.

Most diesel engines have problems with the reliability of the injection pump, which manifests itself quite early, at a range of 80-120 thousand km. After failure, fuel pump starts to drive shavings into fuel system, as a result, you have to change all its elements and flush the gas tank. For the owners, this became an unpleasant surprise, since the entire repair in the official service costs 10,000 USD, in an unofficial one, it can be kept within 5,000 USD. Many owners have eliminated this defect under warranty, be sure to check the service history of the car before buying. The 4.2 engine proved to be the most problem-free among diesel engines; no global recurring problems have been identified for the entire period of operation. Owners of the first copies of the Audi Q5 with diesel engines note problems with intake manifolds, oil seal leakage and extrusion oil dipstick. TFSI engines unfortunately not very reliable. The main problems are added to the increased oil consumption, which appears on cars with a mileage of 50,000 km or more. Depending on the mileage additional expense can range from 0.5 liters to 1.5 liters per 1000 kilometers. Dealers claim that on cars manufactured after 2014, the problem with increased consumption oil has been resolved.

If the turbine is properly maintained and operated, it will live up to 200,000 km, the replacement will cost 2000 USD. Approximately 200-250 thousand km develop their resource fuel injectors, for the replacement of each you will have to pay 200 USD. Often, owners are faced with failures electronic block engine control. The main reason for its failure is bad contacts and moisture that enters it through the cork in the upper part of the case, which is designed for ventilation. After 100,000 km, many cars require a starter replacement (200-400 c.u.), this problem more relevant for vehicles with diesel power units. Before changing the starter, carefully check the wiring, as it very often rots, as a result, the starter may not work.

Transmission.

Power units before the restyled Audi Q7 were combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. After restyling in 2010, all cars began to be equipped with an eight-speed automatic. As experience has shown, the transmission in this car is quite reliable. Sometimes sealing gum can leak, because of this, the contacts close. This trouble is manifested by jerks in the box during switching. Replacing electrical harnesses with gaskets will cost 300 USD. and this is a penny, compared to repairing the box, so it’s not worth pulling with the replacement of electrical harnesses. Also, do not delay the replacement of the misted oil seal, which is located between the box and the engine, if it starts to fog up, it must be urgently replaced to prevent serious damage transmission. On some specimens, the valve body fails early enough, its repair costs 1000 USD. The all-wheel drive system presents practically no surprises. If the previous owner abused slippage and off-road driving, then the transfer case will need to be repaired on a run of 150-200 thousand km.

Salon

In the cabin, everything is very high quality, pleasant and beautiful, it is felt that German specialists worked on the design, and not the fired guys from the Skoda factory. But the reliability of electrical equipment raises a lot of questions from owners. So, for example, the owners blame the incorrect operation of the mirror adjustment lever, music adjustment keys, and system power buttons. Also, the disadvantages include the rapid erasure of the designation on the buttons, which is unacceptable for cars of this class. Over time, crickets may appear in the cabin of the Audi Q7 (in the area of \u200b\u200bthe roof and trunk) and it is very difficult to get rid of them.

Driving performance Audi Q7 with mileage.

Audi Q7 can be equipped with both air suspension and conventional. Cars with air suspension are more comfortable, but you have to pay dearly for this comfort in the truest sense of the word. The air suspension is afraid of winter, slush and reagents, which we generously sprinkle on the roads. Under the influence of all these factors, the valves of the pneumatic struts and the compressor fail. The cost of replacing pneuma from the officials is equal to the cost of a good passenger car. The first problems with such a suspension can begin at 50,000 km. To prolong the life of the air suspension, ask the masters to clean it at every maintenance.

Bushings and stabilizer links are considered consumable and live, on average, 30-50 thousand km. At 50,000 km, steering tips begin to tap, they live a little longer wheel bearings- 60-80 thousand km. Fans of driving around traffic jams along the curbs often have to change ball joints(change assembly with the lever). Stretch marks rear suspension take on most of the load, they have to be changed quite often - once every 50-80 thousand km. Some specimens suffer from a latent disease ( rapid wear rubber edges of the front wheels), wheel alignment or air suspension adjustment, this disease cannot be cured. Otherwise, the suspension is quite strong and has a resource of up to 150,000 km.

The steering rack starts knocking closer to 100,000 km, for new dealers they ask for 1000 USD, not the original can be found for 500 USD, but you need to understand that the lines of its service can be 2 times less. You can also try to restore the rail (about $200), but it's hard to say how long it will last. The brake system of the Audi Q7 suffers from a Japanese disease, which is popularly referred to as "Wadded Pedal", which negatively affects the braking dynamics of a car whose weight is 2500 kg.

Outcome:

Despite the fact that the Audi Q7 has whole line shortcomings, the popularity of this model in the secondary market is very large, the reason for this is that competitors have even more of them.

Advantages:

  • Four-wheel drive.
  • Driving qualities.
  • Spacious salon.
  • Build quality.

Flaws:

  • Fuel consumption is not as advertised.
  • Weak paint finish.
  • High repair cost at the dealer.
  • Creaks in the cabin.
