Debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015, the Audi e-tron quattro concept, which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015, is a nod to the production crossover Audi Q6 e-tron, which is scheduled for production in 2018. The new electric car Audi Q6 e-tron 2018-2019 model year will probably be one of the most high-tech cars on the market, and according to the plan of Audi AG management, it will be an excellent alternative to American electric cars and. According to preliminary information price of a new serial electric SUV Audi Q6 2018-2019 will be from 55-60 thousand dollars, which today is comparable to the cost of the Business 3.0 TFSI quattro S tronic sedan in Russia.

I can’t even believe that the Audi Ku 6 electric car will cost less and with traditional internal combustion engines. However, time will put everything in its place, and whether we will find out in 2018, but for now we offer to deal with the Audi e-tron quattro concept.
Audi's new electric crossover concept is packed with innovation and equipment so fantastic that it's hard to believe it could be fitted to a production car. It would seem that we have a large crossover (see photo and video).

  • The external dimensions of the body of the Audi e-tron quattro concept are 4880 mm long, 1930 mm wide, 1540 mm high with a 2900 mm wheelbase.

But the body of the prototype has phenomenal aerodynamic characteristics. Thanks to original solutions (hood gills, side skirts with slots in front of the rear wheel arches, a diffuser in the rear bumper - all elements are equipped with electrically operated flaps and are activated at speeds above 80 mph, as well as a huge roof spoiler, a flat bottom with a special coating and even rear-view cameras instead of exterior mirrors) and computer modeling during the development of the model provided a drag coefficient of the body of only 0.25 Cx (for the new one - 0.32 Cx, for the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe 0.35-0.36 Cx, and even for a compact crossover - 0.29 Cx).
Headlights with a combined filling are available - Matrix laser headlights, LED headlights and OLED - ultra-thin light sources using organic light emitting diodes. The taillights also use OLED technology.
Add to this adaptive air suspension, a fully controlled chassis, three electric motors, Torque Control Manager torque distribution, Audi drive select, which helps the driver select the optimal mode of operation of all vehicle components for maximum efficiency and confident movement. Solar panels on the roof, Audi Wireless Charging (contactless charging system), as well as the possibility of autonomous movement of the crossover using the zFAS autopilot, which is provided by a laser scanner and ultrasonic sensors, radars and video cameras.

A lot of modern equipment is also installed in the four-seater saloon of the Audi Q6 serial crossover prototype. All displays present in the interior of the concept work with the use of organic light emitting diodes - OLED technology. Curved screens are installed on the door cards of the front doors, providing the driver with information provided by the rear-view cameras. The color screen of the dashboard is placed in a traditional place, but it impresses with the quality of the picture and the mass of displayed information, to the left of the steering column is a display responsible for controlling the light, in the center of the console there is a huge screen that provides multimedia and navigator operation, just below the display for controlling the climate control system and auxiliary functions , as well as showing the operation of the drive and the selected driving mode. For passengers in the back row - their own individual color screen mounted on the center console, which divides the rear cabin into two cockpits and allows you to change the settings of the multimedia installation, climate control and other options that provide comfort.
Separate seats are installed for the driver and his three companions, providing a comfortable fit and a cozy location in the cabin, there is enough space in all directions in both the first and second rows, even for people with a height of more than 190 cm.
The luggage compartment is able to take a cargo volume of 615 liters, as a bonus, a pair of Segways electric two-wheeled scooters are hidden in the trunk underground.

Specifications The Audi e-tron quattro concept is fully consistent with the production model of the 2018-2019 Audi Q6 crossover.
A huge storage battery with a capacity of 95 kWh is installed under the floor of the cabin, the supply of electricity is enough to overcome 500 km of the way. Replenishment of electric fuel is carried out in several ways: express charging - from a special station with a capacity of 150 kW in 50 minutes, standard charging in 6-8 hours - from a conventional network, contactless charging - Audi Wireless Charging system (although you need to find a place for such charging with special chargers). plates), from a solar battery or using a braking energy recovery system (unfortunately, inefficient methods).
There are three electric motors, one provides the rotation of the wheels of the front axle, and two motors are responsible for the rotation of the wheels of the rear axle. The total rated output of the three electric motors is (435 hp), for a short time you can get the total power (503 hp 800 Nm). The crossover, thanks to such a reserve of traction, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.6 seconds, the maximum speed is electronically limited at 210 km / h.
Here is a fantastic miracle of modern automotive industry will soon appear in the showrooms of official Audi dealers. And the price of the 2018 Audi Q6 electric crossover promises to be not fantastic, but even very real.

A grown-up hatchback, with innovative technologies on board. Meet the ambitious 2016 Audi A3 Sportback E-Tron that could end the diesel era.

The new Audi A3 Sportback e-Tron, like its "green" competitor, promotes a new lifestyle. The fast-paced design of the model is emphasized by branded LED optics at both ends of the model. Up front, a grille with 14 horizontal chrome strips shines expressively, and a three-section sports bumper with a small splitter adds a bit of sportiness. From the side you can see that the “nose” of the model is slightly raised due to the lithium-ion batteries located under the rear seats. The design is represented by a pair of conservative lines and 16-inch wheels set inside embossed wheel arches. The aft part is distinguished by the lower part of the rear bumper, where instead of the exhaust pipes, a pair of chrome inserts are now installed.

Sitting behind the wheel, it immediately becomes clear what it is. This is evidenced not only by the four rings on the steering wheel, but also by the excellent fit of all elements of the sporty design. The driver's dashboard received a new analog % Power battery gauge, which replaced the familiar tachometer. The central torpedo with a gear knob also has a slightly different look. Other expressive design elements are the 7-inch MMI system display, optional panoramic sunroof, Bang & Olufsen premium sound system and air-conditioning jet nozzles.

Audi A3 Sportback E-Tron 2016 specifications and price

Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 150 "horses". A 75-kilowatt electric motor is installed between it and the 6-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission. In total, the family hatchback generates 206 hp. power and 350 Nm of torque. Acceleration to hundreds takes 7.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 210 km / h. Fuel consumption in hybrid mode is 2.7 liters per hundred, but driving only on a gasoline engine will “fly away” 7 liters every 100 km. It should be borne in mind that the 8.8 kWh lithium-ion battery adds weight to the car and deprives it of a spare wheel. On the electric motor, the Audi A3 can travel at a maximum speed of 130 km/h for a distance of up to 30 km, which is ideal for urban conditions. The 240 volt charging socket is hidden behind the emblem on the front of the car. It takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge.

The base price of the 2016 Audi A3 Sportback E-Tron is $38,800. For this amount, the buyer receives a premium brand car, with enough luxury, the ability to leave the city limits on weekends, as well as technologies of the near future. Agree, this is a pretty good deal.

Another kupeobrazny electric crossover from Volkswagen? Yes. But if the twins are technically identical, then the five-door Audi e-tron Sportback is molded from a different test. It is not built on a specialized Volkswagen MEB electric platform, but on a standard MLB trolley for cars with a longitudinal engine!

This is a relative of the serial crossovers Audi Q7 and Q5, as well as, which will become serial in 2018. And if, when creating the G8, the designers deliberately avoided resemblance to the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe models, then the profile of the new concept is the same as that of its competitors. With a length of 4900 mm, the Sportback is almost 100 mm shorter than the "eight", that is, it falls into a niche between the Q5 and Q8 models.

Traction is provided not by two, as in the Skoda and Volkswagen concepts, but by three electric motors: one on the front and two on the rear axle. The nominal total return is 435 hp, but at the peak it can briefly reach 503 hp. With such a power plant, the Audi e-tron Sportback can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. And the battery with a capacity of 95 kWh located under the floor of the passenger compartment provides up to 500 km of run (according to the European NEDC cycle).

The status of the concept allowed the creators to experiment to their heart's content. The Sportback has smart matrix headlights that draw special symbols on the pavement: for example, on a narrow winding road they will outline the shoulders, and in front of pedestrians crossing the roadway they will be able to “spread out” a zebra. For backlighting the interior, luminous inserts with a thickness of 0.02 mm are provided on the seats and the front panel. And instead of exterior mirrors, there are rear-view cameras that transmit images to screens in the front doors. The solution is not new, but Audi claims that they are close to its implementation on production cars.

But the representatives of the company do not speak with certainty about the serial crossover Audi e-tron Sportback. According to them, the car can go into production in 2019. Apparently, the reaction of the public at the Shanghai Motor Show and should decide the fate of the conveyor Sportback.

Our test drive of the hybrid 2015-2016 Audi A3 e-tron took place on the road from Vienna to Munich along narrow, winding Austrian and German country roads with several autobahn rides. And everywhere the new hybrid Audi A3 seemed to us indistinguishable from the usual petrol or diesel version. What initially baffled us was the stereotype of hybrids as slow and boring cars for environmentally conscious retirees. This one was frisky and cheerful, despite the boring gray color and cloudy weather. If you love front-wheel drive hatchbacks, take a closer look at it.

Yes, this baby is still too small to somehow compete with the icon of electric vehicles - and therefore, Audi made an electric sports car. But all these cars will mainly be bought by Arab sheikhs, and an ordinary car enthusiast will rather spend their savings on a small but very nimble hatchback Audi A3 e-tron 2015-2016 model range - after all, it delivers almost the same driving pleasure.

How is this possible? Part of the answer lies in the weight of the car. The battery pack, together with the rest of the equipment of the hybrid part of the hatchback, weighs 136 kg (125 of which is occupied by the battery). By replacing the conventional fenders and hood with aluminum and other weight-saving measures, Audi engineers were able to bring the car's curb weight to 1,540kg, just 180kg more than the base 1.8-liter A3. That's about the same weight as the 2.0T Quattro A3 - an incredible feat, really. In addition, the battery pack makes the car more balanced. In a hybrid, the weight is distributed in a ratio of 55/45, shifted to the front axle, while in the base A3 hatchback this figure is 60/40.

The used battery pack with a capacity of 8.8 kWh consists entirely of prismatic cells specially developed for cars by the Japanese company Panasonic, and not conventional consumer finger-type batteries, as in Tesla. The water cooling system for them, like the rest of the elements of the hybrid installation, was completely developed by engineers from Ingolstadt.

Incidentally, the chemistry of the lithium-ion battery pack used in Audi is significantly different from that used in the e-Golf. In Golf, the chemical composition is selected to obtain stable and efficient operation even at extremely low temperatures. In A3, the focus is different - the ability to provide a faster discharge.

To do this, the engineers had to make three different cooling systems: one for the engine, the second for the intercooler and electric motor, and the third directly for the battery pack, which can get very hot when discharged quickly. Due to the fact that this system will need to be regularly serviced at a proprietary service station, like a DSG box, the pleasure of owning such a hybrid will not be cheap.

The heart of Audi's hybrid system is a special version of the dual-clutch gearbox - the VW Group DSG, which received a third input from a 75 kW electric motor and a third electromagnetic clutch drive that turns the electric motor on or off if necessary, and does it so filigree that the driver almost nothing noticeably.

The base 1.4-liter turbocharged (TFSI) four-cylinder engine installed in the 2015-2016 Audi A3 e-tron is 150 horsepower, but in Boost mode, paired with an electric motor, the power increases to 204 horsepower forces. And of course, the main thing that a car gets from an electric motor is incredible torque right from the moment the electric motor is turned on. The base torque of 250 Nm in Boost mode turns into 350 Nm! Incredible numbers for a small hatchback.

About 40 km purely on electricity, like a real electric car.

With the internal combustion engine turned off, the 2015-2016 Audi A3 e-tron will behave like a true electric car for up to 50km (according to Audi). In life, everything turned out to be not so good, but our car drove an honest 40 km only on electricity.

To ensure you get the most out of your e-tron hybrid driving experience, Audi gives you the option to choose which mode the hybrid setup will operate in. By pressing the small "EV Mode" button next to the multimedia screen, you will be able to switch between all the options. There's an "EV" mode that only uses battery power; hybrid mode using battery charge; hybrid mode that maintains battery charge and fast battery charging mode. In the latter mode, the system charges the battery in just half an hour of active driving, but it’s better not to look at the fuel consumption indicator ...

In EV mode, the petrol engine will only start when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed. In all other cases, gasoline is resting and the car is completely driven by electricity. In this mode, the maximum speed is softly limited to 130 km / h, but you usually don’t need that much, because at maximum speed you can drive for 15-20 minutes, no more.

Do not press the pedal to the floor, and the 2015-2016 Audi A3 e-tron will obediently drive only on an electric motor. But if you press it, then no matter how cold it is outside, the gasoline engine immediately turns on at high speeds, pushing the Audi A3 into a three-digit speed zone. We did this on the autobahn and at a speed of 160 km / h the car behaved quite confidently. True, after the relaxed silence of the electric motor, the noise of the motor seemed too annoying to us.

From zero to hundreds of Audi A3 e-tron 2015-2016 accelerates in 7.6 seconds, and a little after reaching a top speed of 220 km/h. We did not test the maximum speed, but it holds its 130 on the freeway absolutely easily and without straining.

The Audi e-tron charging connector is hidden behind a four-ring badge on the grille. It's so cute, it's like he's a little embarrassed... A full charge from the household power outlet will finish in 3 hours and 45 minutes. And unfortunately, Audi is not even considering the possibility of a fast charging mode, as in most modern electric cars.

More rear wheel loading results in more balanced handling, especially in tight corners.

Back to driving… The almost perfect weight distribution allows the small hatchback to corner perfectly. The only thing that can prevent this is energy-saving tires, which, of course, are very quiet, but compared to conventional ones, they still have not very good grip, and they start squealing much earlier. In general, after buying an Audi A3 e-tron, the first thing for a tire fitting is to change shoes.

Inside the Audi A3 e-tron 2015-2016 is almost indistinguishable from a standard hatchback. Two adults can comfortably sit in the back seat (still not enough for three seats), there is enough legroom, even with the driver's seat in the rear position.

Unfortunately, a version of the A3 with a rear electric motor is not yet available, but Audi promises to work on this and make an analogue of all-wheel drive with a rear electric motor as in.

In general, we liked this small, nimble and cheerful hybrid, but would you buy such an Audi A3 e-tron 2015-2016?

In the first quarter of 2018, Audi plans to launch a production electric crossover called "e-tron quattro". His concept could be seen at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show. According to one of the heads of Audi, responsible for technical development, this car can give a clear idea of what the future production model will be like. Many analysts believe that the Tesla Model X electric car could become the main potential competitor.

Audi's e-tron quattro is equipped with three electric motors, with a total output of 435 hp. They are located like this: one on the front axle, and the other two on the rear axle. They are powered by a lithium-ion battery built into the bottom, with a capacity of 95 kWh. This design solution led to a lower center of gravity and optimal axle load distribution. The e-tron quattro chassis is an innovative combination of rear axle steering and adaptive air suspension and front axle dynamic steering.

The German electric crossover is capable of reaching a speed of 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The maximum speed developed by him is within 210 km / h. A fully charged battery will last for 500 kilometers. The combined charging system makes it possible to replenish the battery capacity from sources of direct and alternating current. At a special charging station, the battery is fully charged in 50 minutes. Wireless charging is also possible with Audi Wireless Charging technology. It is possible to obtain energy from solar panels installed on the roof of the cabin. The Audi e-tron quattro is 4.88 mm long, 1.54 m high and 1.93 m wide. The drag coefficient is 0.25. In the front is a laser matrix optics. OLED elements are also used in the rear lights.

Cabin capacity - 4 people with a driver. The trunk volume of the electric crossover is 615 liters. The airy and lightweight design is in harmony with the latest control system with OLED displays placed on ultra-thin film. This allows them to be used on surfaces of absolutely any shape.

Which electric car is better: Audi E-Tron Quattro or Tesla Model X

Today it is already clear that Tesla will face competition from other automakers very soon. Major global companies are realizing that electric vehicles are the future. They have already shown their conceptual developments, one of them is the Audi E-Tron Quattro.

The appearance of the production Model X is more impressive than that of the E-Tron Quattro. The American crossover is distinguished by lifting rear doors, which are also called “falcon wings”.

In Model X, one of the electric motors rotates the rear and front axles. The Audi concept has a similar drive layout, but uses three electric motors to power it. If we compare their total power, then the E-Tron Quattro loses to Tesla. The same can be said about the maximum speed, which the Model X is about 250 km / h.

The Tesla Model X has a range of 402-413 km, and the E-Tron Quattro, after a full charge of the battery, can cover 500 km. Most likely, this is due to carefully designed aerodynamics. Rear-view cameras have taken the place of the usual mirrors. The bottom is completely flat and has a special coating - all this undoubtedly improves aerodynamic properties. The car has one of the lowest drag coefficients. In the Tesla electric car, however, this figure is less than one tenth.
