The ambiguity of the situation was exacerbated by various theories that brand fans tried to explain the actions of the concern's management. It was believed that the assembly of Vesta in such a body was being delayed due to a lack of free capacity or due to the rapid growth in the popularity of SUVs.
The fortune-telling stopped only when Steve Mattin and Bo Andersson invited the media to a closed demonstration of the station wagon and hatchback. Although it was forbidden to take pictures, there were minimal differences from the sedan, taking into account the new body, of course.
Many hoped that 2016 would turn out to be decisive, but the August MIAS was marked only by a cross-modification of the car, and it was a concept, so it was not worth expecting that it would go into series in the same form.

AvtoVAZ introduced the fourth model in the Vesta family, which will be replaced by Cross version sedan. Design and stylistic solutions for the novelty are borrowed from the Vest cross-country wagon, which has been on sale since last autumn.
According to the manufacturer, the Vesta Cross sedan has a length of 4.41 meters, a width of 1.785 meters, a height of 1.526 meters, and wheelbase reaches 2.635 meters. The length of the car remained the same as a regular sedan, but the increase is noticeable in height and width - 29 and 21 mm, respectively. As for the meaning ground clearance, then it in the cross sedan is similar to that provided for the SW Cross and reaches 203 mm, which is 25 mm more than that of a conventional sedan. In addition, these models are supposed to be equipped with similar 17” rims.
