    Undoubtedly, the installation of PG is tuning, modernization. And everything you need to build such a sports version of the exhaust is available in stores.

    The first is the resonator. Note that the sports PG does not have partitions that prevent the release of gases. Its entire design is aimed only at ridding the internal combustion engine of excess gases generated during the combustion process. As a result, power increases due to increased blowing.

    An interesting point. On cars equipped with an atmospheric internal combustion engine, the installation of a sports PG allows you to increase power by 10 percent of the standard power, and on turbocharged cars - by 20 percent or even more.

    The second necessary element, of course, is a new straight-through flame arrester. The universal damper is designed as an alternative to the standard catalyst when building a forward flow. Such an element must be made of stainless steel (sometimes aluminized). Inner part of such a flame arrester has a universal design, designed to increase the power of the power unit of the machine.

    Fasteners and other accessories, which must include various adapters, adapters, flanges, thermal tape for the exhaust manifold, etc., are also part of the system.

    DIY PG from handy materials

    To make a homemade PG from stainless steel, you need to do the following:

    • take a stainless steel tube of the desired diameter (the length is determined by the car model);
    • put on it a few metal brushes (sold in stores called "metal sponge");
    • wrap the pipe with pieces of thin metal mesh put on sponges;
    • you need to wrap tightly so that there are no voids left (see photo);
    • after wrapping, secure with wire (steel, not copper!);
    • insert such a sandwich into a stainless steel pipe with a thicker diameter or wrap a stainless steel sheet over the wire;
    • hammer inside ursu - mineral wool;
    • rivet the surface sheet of stainless steel, first making holes in the sheet for rivets with a drill;
    • cover one of the holes of the self-made resonator with a mixture of ursa and cement (prepared in the ratio of 1 mineral wool x 3 cement).

    It remains only to install fasteners and clamps, put a new system on the machine.

    From a fire extinguisher

    PG can also be made from other materials. For example, from a fire extinguisher (its frame). The method is not bad, albeit a budget one.

    It is advisable to choose a powder fire extinguisher.

    Here are some other materials you will need:

    • 2 tubes with a diameter of 32 mm or more;
    • welding machine;
    • metal carver (a grinder is suitable).

    Operation algorithm:

    • the fire extinguisher is empty of the mixture;
    • its diameter increases. central hole on both sides so that 32 mm pipes enter;
    • pipes are welded in front and behind the fire extinguisher frame;
    • the necessary fasteners are welded onto the resulting resonator (by analogy with the fasteners of an old muffler that is on a car or motorcycle);

    • the quality of the welds is checked (they must be treated with anticorrosive).

    To check the welds, it is necessary to close one of the muffler holes. Pour water into another. If the seams are not sealed, water will seep through them.

    From a thermos

    Such a metal thermos can also be used as a material for a silencer.

    It will suit both as a nozzle for a PG and as a muffler itself. As you know, a thermos consists of an inner chamber and an outer shell. This design makes it easy to manufacture a silencer - the chamber plays the role of a resonator closed on one side.

    The operation algorithm will look like this:

    • first of all, you should thoroughly wash the thermos, throw out the cork as unnecessary;
    • clean the case from the outside with a metal brush;
    • take off back thermos;
    • bend the edges, align;
    • cut a hole around this circle.

    Attention. To make it easy to cut a hole, you need to let the air out of the thermos, and only then cut it out.

    We continue:

    • on the side of the front of the thermos, it is necessary to punch holes around the entire perimeter every 50 mm for exhaust gases to escape along the outer wall of the thermos to the back (the size of the holes in diameter is 5–6 mm);
    • you can punch holes with a sharp chisel, and this is what should happen;
    • in order for gases to escape most efficiently, it is recommended to expand the holes by connecting 2 holes into one.

    Attention. The holes must be made so that they go beyond the chamber, i.e., inside the outer shell of the thermos.

    The muffler or resonator is ready. It can be placed either on the old system exhaust, thereby ensuring forward flow, or assembled on new pipes and components.

    How to make a straight-through muffler quieter

    PG becomes quieter in the course of its collection. And each craftsman does it differently, using mineral wool, metal shavings, brushes or asbestos. It is also recommended to arrange inside homemade muffler several branches that form additional resonance.

A disk or cone washer must be fixed on the pipe to act as a plug. Fastening is carried out on bolts at an air cut. The washer, in fact, creates a shape that resembles a flute.

    The cost of ready-made silencers in stores varies between 8-150 dollars. Chinese models They are very cheap, but don't expect quality. Original, good European-made flutes can be purchased for $100-$150.

    You can assemble a flute for PG with your own hands. Below is a diagram by which you can easily make such a model.

    A homemade flute is assembled simply:

    • a 20-centimeter steel pipe is taken (it is recommended to take a stainless steel) and a sheet of iron 1 mm thick;
    • welding is carried out (preferably arc);
    • Initially, a plug with 8 bolt holes must be welded to the pipe.

    SG with a damper is a universal opportunity to simultaneously increase internal combustion engine power and make a quiet forward flow. A design of this type has been known to motorists for a long time, it is even found in the standard version on some BMW models.

    The operation of the SG damper is based on the following principle. When the engine is operating at low speeds, gases exit through a standard, conventional muffler. At this time, the steam generator is closed by a damper. But as soon as the ICE switches to high revs, the damper in the steam generator opens, and due to the enhanced ventilation, optimal torque is produced.

    The damper is controlled, for example, on a BMW automatically. But manual models are also known.
