What tachographs are required to be installed in 2018?

Fixation of continuous and uncorrected information on the observance by drivers of the regime of work and rest - this condition must be met by mandatory installation of tachographs from January 1, 2018. Types of devices to be replaced

The process of implementing controllers in passenger buses and trucks began in 2013, and will be completed, according to plans, in the summer of 2019. The Ministry of Transport, in order No. 273, obliged the owners of commercial vehicles transporting goods in Russia to change before January 1, 2018:

  • AESTR tachographs introduced by car manufacturers before April 1, 2014;
  • AESTR tachographs installed by workshops before March 11, 2014.

At the same time, there is no clear definition of the concept of “commercial transportation” in the regulatory acts. Which type of device should be installed on the truck depends on the direction of the flights. The provisions of the order of the Ministry of Transport No. 36 clearly say:

  • for transportation within the country, a tachograph with CIPF is required;
  • for international transportation - the European equivalent.

Do I need to change the analog tachograph to a digital one?

In 2018, it would seem that there should not be analog tachographs with a chart disk on transport for commercial transportation within Russia - a ban on them was imposed on July 1, 2016. Responsibility for the absence

The punishment for the absence of a fixing device, to which a malfunction is equated, has the form of an administrative violation.
