Anti-rain comparison. Anti-rain for cars

Anti-rain comparison. Anti-rain for cars

Can you imagine how convenient it would be if you did not need to use the "wipers" during the rain? For this purpose, the "anti-rain" coating was invented, which, as the manufacturers assure, not only improves visibility, but also allows you to save on windshield washer and wiper blades, as well as easily remove any dirt and frost from the windshield of the car. To find out how true these promises are, we decided to test some of these tools.

The opinions of users on the forums about "anti-rain" are very different: someone claims that this is a waste of money, and someone has been using the composition for many years and is very pleased with the results. the site decided to make its own opinion about such tools.

The “anti-rain” of several manufacturers, of different price categories and different countries was taken for the test: Hi-Gear, made in Russia (the cost in Belarus is 7 rubles, our 150 ml bottle was brought from Russia and cost about 5 rubles there), Lavr (price 7 rubles for 185 ml), K2, produced in Poland (a bottle of 200 ml cost 5 rubles). In a specialized center, we applied the Canadian product Aquapel (the cost of the service and the product was 29 rubles) and prepared the composition ourselves according to the recipe taken on the Internet (the ingredients cost 2 rubles 6 kopecks). After that, our volunteers used the cars as usual for about a month and shared their impressions at the end of the experiment.

"Anti-rain" do-it-yourself

The most popular homemade "anti-rain", the recipe of which is on the Internet, consists of paraffin and white spirit solvent. In general, the remedy is quick and easy to prepare, the ingredients can be found at any hardware store.

We rub the candle on a grater (we grated it on the smallest one) and dissolve it in a ratio of 1 to 10 in warm white spirit (on the Internet, the solvent is heated in a bowl over a fire, but this can also be done in a water bath). The solution is ready, it can immediately be applied to the glass of the car.

Apply funds

To learn about Aquapel technology, we went to the Krown anti-corrosion treatment center.

Apply anti-rain products to clean, dry surfaces. Therefore, it is better to do this after washing the car or wash the glass with a special agent and wipe it dry.

"According to the manufacturer's requirements, you need to apply the product, avoiding moisture and direct sunlight. It would be ideal to apply it indoors: in a garage or in a parking lot. You can use the car immediately after application - even if it rains, nothing will happen to the coating. The only requirement - on the first day after application, it is strictly forbidden to use "wipers", - warns director of the center Alexey Mukhlaev.

According to the center's employees, the coating will last about 6 months in summer, and about 4 months in winter due to the frequent use of scrapers and windshield washer.

"We recommend applying twice a year - in spring and autumn. In winter, the coating helps to clear ice from the windshield more easily, and in summer it protects against rain. Also, according to our customers, the coating has a cumulative effect - the longer you use, the better," - advises Alexey Mukhlaev.

So, the car is washed and dried, we go to the service area to observe the application of the product. The process itself is very simple and takes no more than 15 minutes. The service station employee crushes the capsule, and then applies the agent to the windshield. At the request of the client, if the composition remains, the product can be applied to rear-view mirrors and side windows.

We wait about 10 minutes, and then wipe off the remnants of the product with a dry cloth. Processing completed.

By the way, Aquapel can be bought on the Internet and applied independently - one ampoule costs 20 rubles. However, the owner is responsible for the result.

"As you can see, there is nothing complicated in applying the product, but there are some nuances. Firstly, it is important to apply the product evenly, and secondly, to comply with all the manufacturer's conditions in order to achieve the highest quality result," the center's employees say.

Next, we apply the "anti-rain" bought at the car market, as well as the composition prepared at home. All these products work due to the silicones and paraffin included in them and stay on the windshield for no more than a few weeks. We applied them according to the instructions written on the bottle. Hi-Gear and Lavr should be sprayed onto glass and rubbed with a soft, dry cloth. On the bottle with the K2 product it is written that after application you need to wait for drying, and then wipe off the residue with a napkin. According to the instructions on the Internet, a home-made product is applied to the glass with cotton pads, and after 10 minutes, when the solvent has evaporated, the remnants are wiped off with a paper towel or a lint-free cloth. Theoretically, "anti-rain" can be poured into an old bottle from under any spray so as not to get your hands dirty.

At the application stage, we noted several features of each product. "Antirain" Hi-Gear had a pleasant smell and a watery consistency. The K2 also smelled good and covered the glass with a thick, oily film. But Lavr has a strong smell of alcohol. A homemade product - with a strong smell of a solvent and similar in consistency to it.

Impressions of the "guinea pigs"

Alexey, the owner of Volvo, tested the Aquapel tool worth 29 rubles:

“At city speeds up to 60-70 kilometers per hour, you don’t feel any special changes at all, except that it’s easier for the windscreen wipers to remove the water film, you don’t have to waste washer fluid to fight muddy stains. But the same wow effect appears after a speed of 80 In medium-strength rain and downpour, it’s generally beautiful - the water churns into large drops, which immediately run away beyond the upper edge of the windshield.Only in the area of the brushes, the water is cut into a fine suspension and lies in an even layer on the glass, only a wave of the "janitor" saves from it. That is, in a drizzle or when driving behind another car, when sandy-water fog rises from the road, "anti-rain" is practically useless, at least in my case.

Another plus that I noted for myself is that you can wait a bit with the replacement of brushes (or rubber bands). Before the windshield was covered with this composition, there were several "failures" - in some places the "wipers" "slashed". After that, they also "slashed", but after the first rain they began to rub as expected. I don’t know how much this will be enough, but at least you can wait until the winter season.

In summary, I will say this. If I used the car only in the city, I would probably be disappointed. But 90 percent of my mileage falls on the track, where "anti-rain" is just the most effective. Someone writes that some kind of whitish film appears on the windshield. Didn't notice. As, however, I did not notice a decrease in glare in some modes, which again many drivers trumpet. Will I repeat the application on the eve of the winter regime? Almost certainly. And I won’t even try to do it on my own - in Minsk the prices for this service are such that it’s easier to give it to car washes or service stations. The main thing is to make sure that the windshield is washed properly, and if the glazing area is small, the tube may be enough for the side mirrors / glass. Keep that in mind."

Elena, the owner of Opel, tested the Hi-Gear tool worth 7 rubles:

“Probably, everyone had to “siliconize” the rubber bands of door seals, the dashboard and other things for a water-repellent effect, and the surfaces became slippery at the same time. Actually, Hi-Gear also demonstrated the same effect with the only difference that it was applied to the glass.

Having washed and processed the windshield on a sunny day, together with other testers, we asked heaven for rain and waited for it. However, expectations of improved visibility in bad weather, unfortunately, were not fully justified.

After applying the product to the glass, it felt smoother to the touch and, if you like, more slippery. And the precipitation that fell on it gathered into beautiful large drops.

However, there was no miracle along the way. Having heard a lot about the "anti-rain" effect, I expected that the air flow would gently drive water to the upper edge of the windshield, but in practice it turned out not quite like that. In addition to large drops regularly leaving the glass surface, there are also small splashes. So they basically worsen visibility, and the "anti-rain" is not able to resist this even at a speed of over "hundred".

The road was more or less clear, the rain was 4 on a 10-point scale (the video was filmed a little later, when the precipitation had almost disappeared), so I decided not to touch the wipers and see when the discomfort took over. My record is 10 minutes.

The test included a requirement to evaluate the operation of the wipers after applying "anti-rain". It turned out to be difficult for me to complete it, since at the beginning of spring the wipers were scheduled to be replaced, which is probably why it was not possible to notice the difference.

Summarizing, I want to note that I did not see much benefit from the use of Hi-Gear "anti-rain". Exactly like harm. In the city and at low speeds, it "does not work", and on the highway it does not provide sufficient comfort so that you can not use the "wipers". If you like to spend the weekend in the garage, rubbing your car to a shine, then it is quite possible to walk on the windows with “anti-rain” to, so to speak, complete the exercise. It is possible that the manufacturer is not lying, the tool will facilitate and speed up glass cleaning in the winter. But in general, the remedy personally seemed useless to me.

Maxim, the owner of Seat, tested the K2 tool for 5 rubles:

"During the use of the product, I noticed the following pattern: the lower the speed, the less the effect. I expected that the product would somehow work when driving at low speeds, but the drops on the windshield hung like snowflakes in winter. At 80, the product works - droplets scatter in different directions. But the effect was not as good as I expected, even during the day when it rained, the windshield wipers had to be turned on. At night, I also used them, because due to the glare of oncoming headlights, visibility was almost zero. If we consider the effect at different intensity of rain, then at low speed the product does not work, and at speeds over 80 kilometers per hour, only light rain does not prevent you from moving without the wipers on.

From dirty splashes flying from under the wheels of passing cars, the tool also does not save. However, I want to note the duration of the effect of this remedy - over time and after two washes, it did not decrease. Also a positive point - the unpleasant sound that the "wipers" made during light rain disappeared, dirt from the windows began to be washed off more easily. However, this is most likely because I immediately washed off all the dirt, without waiting for them to "dry".

Apparently, neither positive nor negative changes are noted: there are no glare, no white film has appeared. In general, I can say that, given the low cost of the "device", it will not hurt to purchase it, since it is something like a cable that the driver may not need even once in a year, but if it breaks down in the forest, 50 kilometers from the village, or in an unfamiliar city would be very useful. So it is here: applied the agent - it doesn’t interfere with driving, it doesn’t bring harm, but it will help out if the windshield wipers fail in the rain.

Vladimir, the owner of Alfa Romeo, tested the Lavr tool worth 7 rubles:

“Unfortunately, I didn’t see any special effect at speeds from 40 to 100. Water collects on the glass in drops that don’t really want to “run away”. I got this result both during heavy and during light rain. Dirty splashes also occur clean with brushes - here I can note that they are washed off somewhat easier than without using the product.

For the sake of interest, I tried to find out under what conditions it would turn out not to use brushes at all. Bottom line: at speeds over 120 on an empty track with a little rain. It turns out that in urban conditions the tool is practically useless, since you won’t drive like that here.

After the first contactless car wash, the effect deteriorated sharply. I washed the car five days after applying the product. The wipers began to work more smoothly, there were no streaks on the glass either before applying the product or after, since I had new brushes installed. The midges began to wash off the glass much easier - you just need to apply a washer on the glass and make a couple of strokes with the "wipers". So I can say that there are still some savings.

Glare or deterioration in visibility was not observed. In principle, you can use cosmetics, but it will only work on the highway, so for those drivers who use the car exclusively in the city, the tool will be useless. I can also note that the effect disappears quickly, so you will have to apply the product after every second wash.

Vadim, the owner of Citroen, tested a home-made tool worth 2 rubles 6 kopecks:

“A good effect was observed at a speed of 80-90 with light rain, but at speeds of 40-60 the product practically does not work. I came to the conclusion that only in light rain on the highway you can not use windshield wipers.

After applying the product, the "wipers" seemed to walk quieter, but there is no noticeable difference. He noted that visibility at dusk worsened - a white film seemed to appear on the glass. Contaminants from the glass are also washed off somewhat easier.

Summing up, I can say that it is quite possible to use a home-made tool, I would also process side windows and rear-view mirrors.

Website verdict

In general, the fact that the “anti-rain” product will not be superfluous on a shelf in the garage, according to most of the participants in our experiment. There are no negative consequences from its application, but the remedy did not cause much enthusiasm either. The full effect of both expensive and budgetary, as well as home-made tools, is manifested only at speeds above 80-100 km / h, so it will be useful mainly for those who travel more often outside the city or are going on a long trip. Help out "anti-rain" and in case of unexpected breakdown of "wipers".

All the means tested by us showed almost the same result. They differed only in the cost and frequency of application. Aquapel is applied once every six months and costs 20-30 rubles. depending on whether you will do it yourself or contact specialists. The remedy from bottles will have to be applied every 2-3 weeks or every two washes, the cost of one bottle is 5-7 rubles, it will last for about a year.

The homemade product also showed good results, comparable to purchased products, and cost twice as much. Its only drawback, perhaps, can be called the unpleasant smell of the solvent during preparation and application, and the subject also noted the appearance of a white film, which the rest did not have.

As some participants in the experiment noted, all "anti-rain" products contribute to savings to some extent, as they reduce the consumption of the windshield washer, and also allow you to postpone the replacement of the "wipers". But this savings will be small - approximately equal to the cost of the funds themselves.

Therefore, you can buy it only if you save money.

The volume of the can is 250 ml. Its price is 100 rubles.

How to apply anti-rain liquid

It is immediately worth noting that before applying a particular product, you must carefully read its instructions for use. After all, only the manufacturer knows exactly in what sequence and what methods and means to use. However, as practice shows, most anti-rains are applied to the glass surface in approximately the same way.

The first thing you should remember is - it is necessary to apply anti-rain on a clean and dry surface. That is, it is desirable to perform the procedure after washing the car or at least thoroughly cleaning the glass, including using special cleaning agents. It is necessary to remove not only dust and dirt, but also greasy stains that may occur on the glass. After performing the cleaning procedure, the surface must be thoroughly wiped dry with a rag.

Second, the application process should performed in conditions where there is no high humidity and exposure to direct sunlight. A garage, workshop or parking lot is best suited for this. After applying the anti-rain, the machine can be used immediately (removing the remnants of the product with a rag). However, what you should be aware of - during the first day you can not use the wipers.

In the warm season, anti-rain has a longer effect, so it can be applied less often. And vice versa, in winter (in the cold season of the year) this time is reduced, so it becomes necessary to re-apply the hydrophobic preparation.

An interesting feature of the mentioned anti-rains is that they action has a cumulative effect. That is, the longer the car owner uses anti-rain (for example, regularly applies it to the surface of the windshield for several years), the more visible the result of its use.

The application process itself is not difficult. Directly anti-rain should be applied evenly on the surface and rubbed. The key word in this case is "uniform". After 10...15 minutes with dry rags it is necessary to remove the remnants of the product and polish the glass thoroughly. Due to the simplicity of the procedure, it can be completely carried out on your own without seeking help from the service station.

Anti-rain products for cars can be used not only to apply it to the surface of the windshield, but also it can be applied to the side windows, side mirrors, headlights, as well as the body of the car.

How to make do-it-yourself anti-rain

There are several folk recipes for anti-rain, which you can cook with your own hands. The most popular of them is to prepare the appropriate remedy from paraffin(usually a household candle for lighting is used to obtain it) and some solvent(most often, white spirit is used for these purposes, as a simple and affordable remedy). Also, instead of paraffin, stearin or wax can be used, from which candles are also made. As for the thinner, paint thinners (for example, thinner 646) can be used instead of mineral spirits.

In general terms, we can say that it is necessary to mix paraffin and white spirit in a ratio of 1:10 (for example, 10 grams of paraffin and 100 grams of solvent). And after that, warm up the composition in order to better and faster stir the paraffin.

Observe the rules of fire and chemical safety! Do not overheat the solvent very much and use personal protective equipment. White spirit has a pungent odor, so all work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area!

The resulting home-made anti-rain for car glass is applied in the same way as factory products. That is, you must first clean the surface of the glass. After about 10 minutes, when the solvent has evaporated, the remaining paraffin must be carefully removed from the glass surface with a rag or cotton pads and polished (however, do not overdo it so that its thin layer still remains there).

Such a hydrophobic coating has one big drawback - cloudy stains or a halo may remain on the glass, which impairs visibility. Therefore, instead of this method of imparting water-repellent properties to glass, PMS-100 silicone oil is often used, or even a corny cap of fabric softener (“Lenor”) is poured into the glass washer tank.

If it is silicone oil or silicone grease (which is based on such silicone), then you only need to apply a few drops to the rubber bands of the wipers, and then rub a little over its entire area. When you turn on the wipers, they themselves will smear the silicone film on the glass surface. Moreover, such a procedure will also be very useful for the rubber bands themselves (they will become more elastic and will be better cleaned). But still, it is better if you rub the PMS-100 or PMS-200 oil well on the glass with a rag.

And when there is absolutely no desire to bother with processing, but I would like to see the road better in heavy rain, sometimes they even use household fabric softener. It has been repeatedly noticed by car owners that if you add one cap of Lenora to 3 liters of water and pour such a mixture into the glass washer reservoir, then when you turn on the wipers and wash with water from the nozzles, the windshield is much cleaner, and precipitation flows better from it.

What is the conclusion?

Anti-rain for cars is a good method to improve visibility through the windshield, especially when driving on the highway at high speed (when using it in the city, the effect is not so noticeable). Also, with its help, the operation of the rubber bands of the wipers is facilitated. That is, they work more efficiently, and they will need to be changed less often. However, one should not expect a miracle from anti-rain. As practice shows, anti-rain is effective only when the car is moving at high speed. As for the choice or other means, it all depends on the availability of anti-rains on store shelves (including logistics in different regions of the country), their price, volume and brand. Try to buy anti-rain in trusted stores in order to minimize the risk of buying a fake.

If you want to save money, then a great solution in this vein would be to make the mentioned tool with your own hands. It will cost you much less, and in terms of efficiency, home-made anti-rain is almost as good as factory products. However, when making it, remember the above safety measures!

After applying the anti-rain composition to the surface of the glass, a very thin hydrophobic film is formed. It prevents the formation of traces when rolling raindrops. The film protects the processed bases from a rain, snow and liquid dirt. And if the car moves at a speed of 70 km / h in rainy weather, drops falling on the surface slide and scatter to the sides. Anti-rain allows you to drive even in heavy rain without turning on the wipers!

Advantages of anti-rain formulations

Drivers who protect the glass surfaces of a car with an anti-rain agent note its advantages:

    • increased visibility and visibility of the road;
    • the absence of glass pollution does not distract the driver from driving;
    • increases the efficiency of the wipers;
    • you can wash mirrors and glass at long intervals;
    • ease of removal of ice and snow in the winter season;
    • prevention of surface destruction due to minor damage;
    • enhance color saturation.

Rules for applying the anti-rain composition

Each driver can independently apply the tool. However, it is necessary to take into account a number of recommendations that will help achieve optimal results:

    • works are carried out at air temperature in the range of +5..25°С;
    • the composition should be applied in dry weather on dried substrates, the treated surface should be protected from direct sunlight;
    • before applying the product, the glass is thoroughly washed using detergents;
    • work must be done with rubber gloves;
    • the surface of the glass is wiped dry;
    • the composition is applied with microfiber or by spraying, depending on the product;
    • anti-rain is rubbed with little effort using circular motions;
    • it is necessary to process the entire surface at a time;
    • glass is processed first, then side mirrors and headlights;
    • the surface is polished with a lint-free cloth until full transparency is achieved.

With proper application of the film, it can last from two weeks to several months. The service life is affected by the frequency of operation of the car and the use of wipers, as well as weather conditions. The anti-rain agent is easy to use. The coating wears out evenly and spontaneously, microlayers are removed independently. Glass surfaces should be washed without the use of abrasive products.

In case of damage to the formed film, its residues are removed with a simple paper towel. Use circular motions to wipe the glass. Work is best done in the sun, this facilitates the removal of the composition. When heated, the film softens, which contributes to its effective removal.

The AutoProfi store offers a wide range of anti-rain products. Each driver can choose the optimal composition for the cost and technical characteristics. Contact us! We will help protect the glass surfaces of your car from various contaminants!

Now the problem of a car windshield splattered with dirt is quite relevant for all Russian drivers. As soon as the time comes for heavy rains or snowfalls, windshields almost instantly become covered with a large number of spots and streaks. Such pollution significantly complicates the movement of the car and often causes a traffic accident - stained glass does not provide the driver with the necessary visibility and does not allow an adequate assessment of the situation on the road. In order not to provoke an accident, drivers have to drive much slower and constantly peer into the road, trying to see something through a layer of spots.

Do-it-yourself anti-rain for car glass

To prevent raindrops, snow flakes and just ordinary dirt from remaining on the windshield of a car, most drivers now use a special tool called “anti-rain”.

Being applied to the windshield of the vehicle, anti-rain prevents the adhesion of dirt and water, as well as snow. It allows you to keep the glass clean even when car wipers no longer cope with their immediate task. However, this tool has one very unpleasant minus - the cost. Good drugs are very expensive, and therefore many motorists neglect their use, independently introducing themselves into an uncomfortable position while driving in rainy or snowy weather. But there is a way out of this situation: you can make "anti-rain" with your own hands. Fortunately, it has a very simple composition, and therefore almost every vehicle owner will be able to independently make glass protection products with improvised materials.

Glass treatment with Anti-Rain

How "anti-rain" works

In principle, the name of the remedy "anti-rain" speaks for itself. After they cover the windshield or the hood of the car, a hydrophobic water-repellent layer appears on it. When drops of rain, mud or snow flakes fall on this layer, they do not spread and do not form streaks, but form into small balls that quickly roll down. And during high-speed driving or a strong gust of wind, they simply scatter in different directions, cleaning the glass. Most of the water that hits the glass simply bounces off the hydrophobic layer without lingering on it. Thus, "anti-rain" can make it so that precipitation does not interfere with the driver's driving at all.

It should be noted that "anti-rain" is an absolutely safe remedy and in no way affects the integrity of the car coating, safety parameters and does not impair visibility.

"Anti-rain" do-it-yourself

"Anti-rain" is completely optional to buy in the store - you can easily make it yourself.

However, before proceeding with the manufacture, it is necessary to clearly understand the principle of its action - the hydrophobic layer created by the preparation repels all moisture from the vehicle windows. Therefore, hydrophobic preparations must necessarily be included in the composition of the home-made “anti-rain” remedy. So, a homemade drug, as a rule, consists of:

  • Paraffin. A mixture of polymolecular hydrogen compounds in the solid state. It has excellent water-repellent characteristics, which is why it is used to create this product.

Paraffin has excellent water repellency
  • White Spirit. In domestic conditions, this tool is usually used as a solvent. But if we are talking about the treatment of glass or the paintwork of a vehicle, you can not worry - it is absolutely safe for these surfaces and does not cause them any harm. However, when using it, it should be remembered that the composition of this product includes flammable components. So it is better to take all the necessary security measures.

One of the components of the "anti-rain" do-it-yourself - White - spirit

Also, to apply the composition to the surface of the car, you will need an ordinary cotton or non-woven napkin (preferably in the amount of several pieces).

The method of preparing "anti-rain" at home is extremely simple. To create a remedy, you will need to grate a regular paraffin candle on a kitchen grater (with fine grains). After that, 10 grams of the resulting paraffin shavings will need to be placed in 100 grams of white spirit. The resulting mixture must be stirred before the paraffin dissolves. In fact, on this, all work on the creation of "anti-rain" at home can be considered completed.

How to properly treat a car with an anti-rain agent

The process of applying "anti-rain" on various surfaces of the vehicle (windshield, windshield, side windows), as well as on the hood, includes certain preparatory steps. In general, the whole procedure is as follows:

  • To begin with, all surfaces of the car must be cleaned of dirt and dust. To do this, use a mixture of standard car shampoo and plain water. She needs to process all the surfaces of the vehicle on which the “anti-rain” will be applied, as well as the space next to them within a radius of about 20 centimeters.

  • After that, the entire plane to be treated must be degreased. To do this, you can use any standard alcohol-based degreaser and clean wipes. After degreasing treatment, you need to wait until the surface is completely dry.
  • Only now can you start applying the "anti-rain". This must be done with quick and smooth movements, be sure to monitor the fact of complete coverage of the entire glass. In addition to application wipes, you can use a non-scratch cleaning sponge or regular cotton pads. They need to be dipped in a solution and, slightly squeezing, apply to the surface. It is imperative to remember that if you touch an old layer of dirt during the process of applying the product or polishing, which can accumulate, for example, under rubber plugs, this can lead to streaks, and all work will immediately go down the drain. At the same time, you should not forget about the corners and edges of the surface.

  • After the coating has been applied to all planned areas of the outer body of the car, they must be carefully polished. For this, the same napkins or sponge can be used. It is necessary to polish until the surface of the car windows becomes absolutely transparent.

Changeable weather is not only a scourge for pedestrians who get caught in the rain or snow. This problem also applies to transport. Moreover, water-filled glass is a potential cause of an accident or falling into a large hole, which also does not bode well.

Quite often, from motorists you can hear talk about an anti-rain agent for glass and car body. Some consider the remedy almost a panacea for all problems. Therefore, it is worth figuring out what it is and which one is better.

There are several types of anti-rain agents. There are categories designed exclusively for glass, and some are suitable only for the car body.

Any anti-rain for cars is based on the principle of creating a hydrophobic coating to ensure better water rolling off the surface.

The main advantages of such products is the formation of a special film that fills the micropores, the roughness of the plane. The end result is the thinnest transparent film that does not allow water to spread.

This solution perfectly protects windows from rain, snow, liquid dirt. The benefit is especially manifested while driving at high speed (more than 60 km / h). Water is simply blown away by wind currents, leaving no traces behind. Some users leave comments that in some cases it is possible to drive in rain or snow without turning on the wipers.

Release form

Modern anti-rain is available in several forms. It can be both liquid and pasty consistency. Further, varieties of the anti-rain type for the car body will not be disclosed, due to the lack of demand, unprofitability of the composition.

4 most common types:

  1. Bubbles with liquid- A popular container, characterized by simplicity and duration of use. The drug is applied with a regular rag, which does not require additional costs. There is a serious drawback here - it is extremely difficult to regulate the thickness of the layer, which leads to an increase in consumption.
  2. Spray- the lightest of the varieties. To apply, it is enough to spray anti-rain on the glass, then wipe it until it is completely transparent. The pluses include cost-effectiveness (too thick a layer can only be applied sparingly). Also, the container eliminates involuntary leakage.
  3. Napkins impregnated with the composition. Expensive, suitable for trial or emergency. Usually, motorists do not use napkins, due to disadvantage. One set costs 250–300 rubles, and the effect is significantly inferior to analogues.
  4. Nanocapsules They are glass flasks with liquid inside. Extremely expensive but effective. One portion is enough to process all glasses and mirrors. The only concern is the high cost.

The composition can be applied to the visors of motorcycle helmets, windshields, mirrors and car headlights. It is noteworthy that the components of the product are not toxic, so it can be safely used without fear of a detrimental effect on the human body.

Also, after application, the glass ceases to react critically to frost, which saves a lot of time for warming up the interior in winter.

The only drawback consumers consider the high cost - about 1400 rubles. But this is completely offset by the duration of operation of one spray up to one year.

Important! The composition does not contain aggressive chemical components - this enables trouble-free application to plastics, varnishes, paints.

How long does anti-rain work

The standard anti-rain coating lasts from 2 weeks to 1 year. This large gap is due to many factors. The main criteria are as follows.

  1. Product quality anti-rain. Depending on the cost, the liquid can serve very little or very long - it depends on the manufacturer. The originality of the product is also considered important - a fake will fail in a few days.
  2. Precipitation. The same brand can last a different time. It all depends on the frequency of use. For example, rainy regions greatly deplete the resource, and places where drought reigns almost do not need a remedy at all. This is due to the frequency of use of wipers. The resource is also reduced by flows of dirt and water washed off during movement.
  3. Correct application. Even the highest quality anti-rain will not ensure the duration of operation if the technological process has been disrupted.

All this indirectly or directly affects the service life of the formed film.

How to apply

The actual procedure for applying the composition differs depending on the consistency and type of product. Each manufacturer issues clear guidelines for the process. Therefore, before proceeding, you need to carefully study the instructions.

Where the coating will be applied - on the windshield or on the body - there is no fundamental difference. Therefore, the general principle is always the same, only the specifics differ.

Below is a general sequence of actions.

  1. The process is carried out indoors (garage) at an ambient temperature of +5 to +25 degrees Celsius.
  2. Anti-rain is applied only to clean glass. Therefore, you must first wash the car with detergents. Particular attention should be paid to windows. An unsuccessful solution is to wash off the dirt with streams of water - it is advisable to use a soapy sponge.
  3. Completely dry the surface of the car - experts recommend using ordinary newsprint, special towels for this purpose.
  4. According to the manufacturer's instructions, apply anti-rain to the necessary places.
  5. Rub the formula in circular motions, applying sufficient force. When processing a windshield, it is necessary to keep within one approach. With uneven application or different times, incomplete overlap of the layers may occur, which will lead to problem areas. The film should turn out to be even, monolithic.
  6. The final step is polishing. Here it is desirable to use woolen fabric to achieve the perfect transparency of the windows.

How to remove anti-rain from glass

Usually, the coating comes off on its own, and there is no need to strain to remove it. In emergency cases, you can use an alcohol solution or a special coating remover to remove the dried film. Usually alcohol is applied to a rag and the remnants of the layers are erased with it.

What is the price

The cost of one serving of the anti-rain product ranges from 200 to 2000 rubles. Such a run is due to the difference in quality. The cheapest products do not last even a month, expensive products can protect the windshield for up to one year.

How to make do-it-yourself anti-rain

Some enthusiasts sometimes use household "Lenore" instead of anti-rain, but this is not very effective.

You can make anti-rain with your own hands, for this you will need to perform such actions.

  1. A glass of white spirit is poured.
  2. The wax candle is finely ground (you can use a table grater).
  3. We mix in a ratio of 1:10 paraffin, solvent, respectively.
  4. Apply with a napkin or cotton swab to the glass.

Everything ingenious is simple. Homemade is different from factory developments, the effectiveness of a “homemade” product is much lower. Therefore, it is more relevant to mix the wax with a less toxic solvent and use homemade anti-rain for the car body.
