At the start of sales - only four-wheel drive, 6-cylinder engines and 9-speed automatics. More available versions with fours and rear wheel drive will appear later. The petrol CLS 450 4Matic is even faster - only 4.8 s to "hundreds". It turns out that the new CLS with a three-liter "six" caught up in dynamics with the previous CLS 500 with a 4.7-liter V8. But that version was not at all archaic - 408 forces, double turbocharging, the same 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. So where does this leap come from? The point is that new inline engine(367 hp) with 48-volt electrics and an integrated starter-generator, a 22-horsepower electric motor helps. This gives a large increase in traction precisely at accelerations.
