Ford Mondeo 4 problems. Selection and purchase of a car Ford Mondeo IV restyled sedan

02.12.2016

Over the past few years, the Ford Mondeo 4 has become one of the top-selling middle class cars in the secondary market. The car is often used as a company car, in medium and large companies, as well as in taxi services, but, most often, this car is considered as a personal vehicle. does not leave indifferent even the most skeptical motorists, perhaps that is why the model has become quite widespread in the CIS. But for what we fell in love with this car, and what are its most common shortcomings, now we will try to find out.

A bit of history:

Ford Mondeo- a car that was developed and produced by the European branch of the company "". The first generation Mondeo appeared on the market in 1993, three years later the manufacturer introduced the second generation of the car. The release of the third generation lasted from 2000 to 2007. Production of the fourth generation of the car began in 2007, in the Belgian city of Genk. In 2009, serial production of the model was also launched in Russia, at a plant located in Vsevolozhsk. In 2010, a restyled version of the Ford Mondeo 4 was introduced. The car is available in three body styles - sedan, station wagon and hatchback. Sales of the fifth generation started in 2014 and continue to this day.

Advantages and disadvantages of Ford Mondeo 4 with mileage

There are no complaints about the quality of the Ford Mondeo 4 paintwork, and there are no questions about the corrosion resistance of the body. But, to the chrome body elements, the owners have complaints after a couple of years of operation. So, in particular, under the influence of reagents, with which we plentifully sprinkle roads in winter, chrome quickly becomes cloudy, and then it becomes covered with bubbles and peels off. After 3-4 years of operation, door seals need to be replaced. It is not uncommon that there are problems with the hood lock cable, which eventually begins to stick. Also, the protective plastic of the headlights is not famous for its quality, as a rule, after 3-4 years of operation it begins to become cloudy.

Power units

Ford Mondeo 4 was equipped with gasoline engines 1.6 (125 hp), 2.0 (145 hp), 2.3 (161 hp), 2.5 (220 hp) and EcoBoost 2.0 (200 and 240 hp), a 2.0 diesel power unit (140 hp) was also available. As operating experience has shown, all power units are quite reliable and do not have any serious drawbacks. The most widely used engine is 2.0, a feature of this engine is a short-term vibration that cannot be treated when the speed increases (over 2500). The same feature has a 2.3-liter engine. In a 2.5 turbocharged engine, after 80,000 km of run, oil seals begin to leak, the main reason for this shortcoming is the failure of the oil separator (the membrane breaks). Another cause of oil leakage may be wear on the gears of the crankshaft and camshaft.

On all engines, after 70,000 km of run, cleaning of the throttle valve is required, floating speed, detonation, and difficult starting of a cold engine will serve as a signal for the need for this procedure. Closer to 100,000 km, the drive belt tensioner needs to be replaced. A signal about the need for replacement will be a hum and clicks when you turn on electrical equipment (climate control, stove, lighting, etc.). Closer to 150,000 km, a replacement of the fuel pump is required, the pump failure occurs suddenly, without any signs and symptoms. The fuel tank must be removed to replace the pump..

A turbodiesel engine may start to stall and not start already at 30-50 thousand kilometers, the reason is soot contamination of the throttle valve and biting it in the extreme position; to fix the problem, flushing the entire throttle assembly is required, temporarily, tapping on the throttle assembly may help. After 100,000 km there is a buzzing sound from under the hood after the engine is stopped. In principle, there is nothing wrong with this, this sound is emitted by the pneumatic valve for changing the geometry of the turbine. With such a sound, the valve can work for another 200-250 thousand km, but if the sound is very annoying, the valve can be replaced, fortunately, it is not too expensive - 30-60 USD. When using low-quality diesel fuel, the EGR exhaust gas recirculation valve and nozzles quickly fail.

Transmission

The Ford Mondeo 4 was equipped with a five- and six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic transmission and a robot with two clutches. powershift". As operating experience has shown, mechanical and automatic transmissions have proven to be the most reliable, but they also have drawbacks. So, in particular, in mechanics, after 100,000 km, the gears start to turn on badly, the reason is the behavior of the flywheel. Owners of cars with automatic transmission blamed for jolts and jerks during gear changes. To eliminate the drawback, it is necessary to update the software of the transmission control unit, if this procedure does not help, you will have to change the torque converter. Depending on the operating conditions (city or highway), the automatic transmission will last 250-350 thousand km.

The manufacturer claims that the oil in all gearboxes is designed for the entire line of transmission service, however, most experts do not agree with this and recommend changing it at least once every 80,000 km. Robotic boxes always raise a lot of doubts and questions, as a rule, they do not have a long service life - up to 100,000 km. Most often, mechatronics and clutch become unusable.

Salon

Despite the fairly good quality of finishing materials, crickets in the cabin are a common occurrence. The main sources of noise are: the front panel, door seals in the A-pillars and B-pillars, as well as in the rear-view mirror mount and interior light. With a run of 100,000 km, many owners are faced with a freon leak in the air conditioning system. In principle, there are not many electrical problems, but sometimes the wiring harness in the trunk is frayed, as a result, the trunk stops opening, the gas tank cap, and there are also malfunctions in the lighting.

Driving performance Ford Mondeo 4 with mileage

Ford Mondeo 4 is equipped with a fully independent suspension. Basically, the chassis has a good resource, but many owners blame the appearance of squeaks and knocks in it with the advent of frost. The weakest point of the suspension, traditionally for this brand, is the stabilizer struts and bushings, on average, they nurse 20-30 thousand km. Thrust bearings live a little longer - 50-60 thousand km. The resource of the front and rear shock absorbers, on average, is 90-120 thousand km. The silent blocks of the levers take care of 120,000 km, on the same run, wheel bearings will need to be replaced.

The steering is quite reliable, but after 100,000 km the power steering pump may fail, the reason is a dirty filter in the power steering fluid reservoir. Tie rods, on average, serve 70-90 thousand km, and steering tips will live approximately the same. If the rail begins to knock, it can be tightened, but this must be done very carefully, since the bolt is made of fragile plastic, and it is not difficult to tear or break it. The front brake pads take care of up to 50,000 km, the rear ones - up to 40,000 km, the discs will have to be replaced every 120,000 km.

Outcome.

- a reliable and well-balanced car, as a rule, this car is used quite actively, and, on average, 50-70 thousand km are driven per year, therefore, the odometer readings do not always correspond to reality. Therefore, when diagnosing, try to assess the real technical condition of the main components and assemblies.

Advantages:

  • High quality paint finish.
  • Spaciousness.
  • Good handling.
  • Reliability of the main units.

Flaws:

  • Small ground clearance.
  • Crickets in the cabin.
  • Rigid, for this class of cars, suspension.

The fourth-generation Ford Mondeo was one of the best-selling middle class cars. Its production began in March 2007 in the Belgian town of Genk. In Russia, the assembly of the model began in March 2009 near St. Petersburg, in Vsevolozhsk. In August 2010, Ford introduced a restyled model, and in 2015 there was a generational change. The car was offered in sedan, hatchback and station wagon body styles.

Engines

In the Russian market, the Ford Mondeo was equipped with Duratec 1.6 liter (125 hp), 2.0 liter (145 hp), 2.3 liter (161 hp) and 2.5 liter turbocharged (220 hp) petrol engines. ). The range of diesel engines was represented by the Duratorg 2.0 l (140 hp) series unit. After restyling, the turbo engine with a working volume of 2.5 liters was replaced by "supercharged" 2.0-liter engines of the EcoBoost series with a capacity of 200 and 240 hp.

On the junior 1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT, until 2008, there was a problem with the camshaft clutches.

The 2 liter Duratec-He is the most common engine. The motor is very reliable, examples of which have worked in a taxi for 300 - 400 thousand km will serve as an example of this. A feature of the engine that cannot be treated, short-term vibration with an increase in speed when the arrow passes the mark of 2000 - 2200 rpm.

A 2.3L Duratec-HE paired with a 2.0L can be sour with a run of over 50,000 to 70,000 km. In this case, slight detonation may appear, idle speeds begin to float, and the engine cannot always be started on the first attempt. To cure the motor, it is enough to clean the throttle assembly. In extreme cases, you will have to replace the throttle valve.

By 150-200 thousand km in engines of 2.0 and 2.3 liters, the dampers in the intake manifold may wear out. A new collector will cost 35-40 thousand rubles. But you can get by with replacing the dampers - 1000 rubles apiece.

Another drawback of the 2.3-liter aspirated is the increasing oil consumption, which reaches critical values after 150-200 thousand km. It is not always possible to solve the problem by replacing the valve stem seals. The cause of the oil burner can also be stuck rings. In this case, 40-50 thousand rubles will be needed for repairs.

The 5-cylinder 2.5T shows its character after 60 - 80 thousand km with leaking oil seals due to the failure of the oil separator, in which the membrane breaks. Less commonly, oil seal leakage occurs due to wear on the crankshaft and camshaft gears. The total cost of replacing oil seals will cost 10 - 12 thousand rubles.

The 2.0 Ecoboost was not without flaws. In the first engines, piston burnout was sometimes encountered. Dealers changed the short block under warranty. Ford subsequently updated the engine software and the problem went away. After 80-120 thousand km, the intake camshaft clutch may fail (from 6,000 rubles), and after 100-150 thousand km, the injection pump is surrendered (13-17 thousand rubles). In addition, there is a burnout of the exhaust manifold. In the worst case, its fragments (dross) destroy the turbine (30-60 thousand rubles).

There are also common problems with gasoline engines. For example, after 90 - 120 thousand km, the drive belt tensioner often fails. The need to replace it will be prompted by knocking or crunching when the load on the generator increases (after turning on the electrical consumers), and when starting in cold weather, a clanging metallic sound will appear. The roller itself, as a rule, by this time already has a slight backlash. Dealers offer a new video for 10 - 11 thousand rubles.

With a run of more than 100 - 150 thousand km, the fuel pump may fail. His death comes suddenly, without any signs of an approaching end. A new original pump at dealers will cost 19-20 thousand rubles, and in an auto parts store - 15-16 thousand rubles. For work on replacing with the removal of the tank, you will need to pay about 5-6 thousand rubles. Technological hole in the body to replace the pump is not provided. Resourceful owners who maintain their cars on their own cut a "hatch" in the floor.

Diesel 2.0 l Duratorg-TDCi, and it was produced in 2010, may start to stall and not start after 25-30 thousand km. The reason is the contamination of the throttle valve with soot and biting it in extreme positions. If you gently tap on the throttle assembly, then the problem disappears for a while. Cleaning the assembly will require about 2 thousand rubles, a new throttle assembly will cost 15 - 17 thousand rubles for the original.

With a run of more than 50 - 80 thousand km, many owners of "diesel engines" notice a buzzing after the engine is turned off. The “transformer” sound is emitted by the turbine geometry control valve. After replacement (4 - 5 thousand rubles for the original and 2 thousand rubles for the analogue), the sound disappears. It is worth noting that the buzzing valve quietly lives up to 160 - 180 thousand km, without causing engine technical malfunctions.

The EGR valve sometimes fails after 60 - 80 thousand km. In this case, the engine will not start. The main cause of the disease is the formation of soot and the separation of the plate from the stem. Later, the design of the valve was changed, and instead of pressing, the plate was welded onto the stem. A new valve is available for 17-19 thousand rubles. Many refuse to replace it, and simply turn off the EGR by installing a metal plate at the junction of the metal tube with the EGR valve.

High pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors may require attention after 250-300 thousand km. By this time, the turbine actuator is also being delivered (2-3 thousand rubles). The turbine itself (an analogue from 30,000 rubles), as a rule, runs longer. For its restoration in a specialized service, they will ask for at least 20,000 rubles.

Transmission

On the Ford Mondeo, paired with 1.6 and 2.0 liter gasoline engines, 5-speed manual gearboxes were installed: IB5 and MTX-75, respectively. The 6-speed "mechanics" MT66 relied on the 2.5T engine, and the 2-liter diesel engine - MMT6. Petrol 2.3 liters and diesel 2.0 liters were equipped with a 6-band "automatic". The EcoBoost series motors were combined with a 6-speed PowerShift automated gearbox with 2 clutches.

Mondeo manual transmissions are generally reliable. On 2-liter cars, there were problems with gear shifting after 70 - 120 thousand kilometers.

Ford Mondeo IV sedan (2010 - 2015)

The 6-speed "automatic" AISIN AW F21 sometimes pesters with jerks when switching, more often when switching from first to second gear and vice versa. This is observed after 80 - 100 thousand km. For diesel Mondeos, the manufacturer released a new version of the box ECU firmware in 2009. Updating the "software" in almost all cases solved the problem.

This model of automatic transmission is known from other cars as TF-81SC. She also began to push with a run of more than 80 thousand km, and her resource was 200 - 250 thousand km with the predominant operation of the car in the city and 350 - 400 thousand km - on the highway. The progression of shocks ultimately leads to the need to replace the torque converter, which will require about 70 - 80 thousand rubles. The manufacturer assures that the oil used in the box is designed for the entire life of the unit. But experts still recommend replacing it every 50 - 60 thousand km.

PowerShift received a lot of complaints from the owners. For example, the incorrect algorithm of the box turned the trip into a "twitch". After 60-100 thousand km, leakage of the clutch seal was often observed. It was shattered by vibrations from a worn clutch and clutch damper. A new set costs over 100-150 thousand rubles. Sometimes the valve control unit (mechatronic) also needed to be replaced - about 80,000 rubles.

Chassis

The suspension of the Ford Mondeo in winter reminds of itself with the creaking of the stabilizer bushings and the tapping of the shock absorbers. The support bearings of the front struts are rented out with a run of more than 50 - 80 thousand km. A new bearing costs about 1000 - 1500 rubles, replacement work - about 1500 rubles. The front shock absorbers start knocking after 60 - 100 thousand km. The cost of a new suspension strut is 2500 - 4000 rubles. Rear shock absorbers last longer - more than 120 - 150 thousand km.

With a run of more than 60 - 90 thousand km, most likely, it will be necessary to replace the stabilizer struts, the bushings "end" much earlier - after 30 - 50 thousand km. The silent blocks of the levers begin to gradually delaminate after 90 - 120 thousand km. With a run of more than 100 - 150 thousand km, the front wheel bearing may howl.

Ford Mondeo IV station wagon (2010 - present)

The power steering pump sometimes fails after 90 - 120 thousand km. The "officials" offer a new one for 20-30 thousand rubles, and about 4-5 thousand rubles are taken for the work of replacing it. In an auto parts store, a new pump can be purchased for 8 - 10 thousand rubles. You will have to pay about 3 - 4 thousand rubles for work.

With a run of more than 60 - 80 thousand km, seething or "geysers" may appear in the power steering reservoir, accompanied by a rumble. The reason is a clogged internal filter of the tank. Further operation of the vehicle can significantly reduce the life of the power steering pump. The tank needs to be replaced - about 1-1.5 thousand rubles.

The tie rod begins to "backlash" in the rail with a run of more than 60 - 90 thousand km. It is necessary to tighten the knocking steering rack very carefully, since the bolt / plug is plastic, and it is very easy to strip the thread. It is better to prepare a brass analogue in advance, and install it instead of a flimsy bolt. A restored steering rack costs about 25 - 30 thousand rubles, a repair kit - 8 - 9 thousand rubles. Steering tips (original - 3000 rubles, analogue 800 - 1100 rubles) live about 50 - 80 thousand km.

Front and rear brake pads run about 50 - 80 thousand km. A set of front ones costs about 900 - 1500 rubles, rear ones - 1000 - 1500 rubles. The front brake discs (1400 - 1700 rubles apiece) live for 80 - 120 thousand km, the rear ones last longer - more than 120 - 150 thousand km.

Body and interior

There are no complaints about the quality of the Ford Mondeo paintwork. Bare metal in places of chips, as a rule, does not bloom for a long time. Chrome-plated elements of the external decor after a couple of years begin to darken and bubble. The lower sealing strips of door openings often come off after 3-4 years of vehicle operation. There are also problems with the hood lock control cable, which begins to stick, and often freezes in winter.

Front panel Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - 2010)

The plastic of the Mondeo interior begins to creak with the onset of cold weather. Rubber door seals, interior mirror and front panel can creak. "Crickets" also settle in racks. The glossy panel of the radio is easily scratched.

Sometimes there is a problem of creaking and backlash in the driver's seat. The reason is thread wear on one or more mounting bolts. In such a case, authorized dealers will replace the skid assembly.

Other problems and malfunctions

With a run of more than 60 - 90 thousand km, some owners encountered a freon leak from the air conditioning system. There are also problems with the drive of the evaporator dampers. On a Ford Mondeo with air conditioning, the throttle cable may fly off. Many note the peculiarity of interior heating - when warm air is directed to the legs, the driver's left leg continues to freeze. This is due to the location of the air duct and the peculiarity of air circulation throughout the cabin.

There are few problems with the electrical side. Due to the chafing of the wiring harness connecting the body and the trunk lid, there are problems with opening the trunk lock, the fuel filler flap and the operation of lighting equipment.

The first batch of cars had problems with the right block of daytime running lights. The reason is a factory marriage during assembly. The problem was later resolved.

Light flickering is a common occurrence on the fourth generation Mondeo. It appears in a year or two or even from scratch. In some cases, pulling the terminals on the battery or replacing the battery helps. Alternator replacement recommended by some electricians usually does not help. The generator itself runs over 150,000 km. A new generator costs about 18 - 20 thousand rubles.

Conclusion

Unfortunately, the EcoBoost series engines paired with the PowerShift robotic gearbox proved to be a hot mix. It is better to pay attention to the Ford Mondeo with atmospheric gasoline engines and a classic automatic.

Atmospheric gasoline engines 1.6 are Duratec Ti-VCTs, well known from Focus and Fusion. Strong piston with a resource of 300+, predictable timing belt drive. And everything would be fine if it were not for the knocking and flowing oil phase shifters (of the same Ti-VCT system). They scold the still quickly clogged throttle valve (cleaning should be at every MOT) and the oxygen sensor (lambda probe) that is capricious to fuel quality.
- Gasoline aspirated 2.0 and 2.3 are Japanese engines of the Mazda L series, known in the Ford universe as Duratec-HE. The timing here is chain, with a resource "over 200" (do not forget to periodically check the chain tension after this mark) and a reliable piston. A clear problem is the poor adaptability of rubber parts (tubes and seals) to the high operating temperature of the engine (around 115 degrees), which is why the engine often flows with oil and antifreeze. Be careful, and even better - change the firmware and thermostat to a lower temperature one, this procedure has been mastered by the masters. The second characteristic problem is the knock / rumble of the intake manifold flaps, which either successfully move over (you need to find masters who will take it), or the manifold assembly changes (which is expensive), or the flaps are removed altogether.
- Top-end petrol 5-cylinder engines 2.5 on Mondeo 4 before restyling - the well-deserved Swedish Volvo Modular series, more specifically - B5254T6. According to the Ford nomenclature - HUBA. Quite voracious, but with a reliable piston, strong turbine and generally successful. Most often they can be found under the hood of the Volvo S80 II. Up to 150-180 thousand, there are usually no problems, except for replacing the timing belt every 70-80 thousand and at about the same interval - the attachment belt, which, breaking off, easily damages the timing belt. Another weak point is the oil separator membrane, which breaks, creates excessive vacuum (accompanying all this with a howl), which squeezes out the camshaft seals, less often the crankshaft. Closer to 200 thousand, the oil burn may increase and after the anniversary mark, the KKK K04 turbine will “approach”.
- Post-restyled Ecoboost turbo engines are built on the old Mazda L block, but differ in a different cylinder head and, accordingly, in the presence of a turbine (here KKK K03) and a direct injection system. As practice has shown, the turbocharger and high-pressure fuel pump with nozzles are quite tenacious, at least up to 200 thousand. When inspecting, it is worth carefully examining the exhaust manifold for cracks (there were many cases) - by the way, when cracking, metal particles often ruin the turbine itself, which would another 100 thousand departed. Plus, there were cases of burnout of the pistons (!) Due to detonation, so endoscopy of this motor is required upon purchase. Other things being equal, in a greater risk zone - naturally, a 240-strong option.
- Diesel engines on the Mondeo are French, from PSA. 2.0 is DW10, 2.2 is DW12. Up to 180-200 thousand, as a rule, you only need to clean the EGR valve in a timely manner. Then the whole traditional "bouquet" of a running turbodiesel will go - a turbine, high-pressure fuel pump, nozzles ... Plus, there was a problem with crankshaft liners scuffing from using too thin oils and irregular replacement. Check if the oil should be 5W40 or at least 5W30, not 0W20. And the replacement interval is 10 thousand, not 15.

In Russia, they love the Ford Mondeo for a long time and deservedly. And the fact that in 2010 this car became the bestseller in its class speaks volumes about it. This is not surprising, because the latest generation of Mondeo turned out to be extremely successful and, combining high functionality and magnificent appearance, meets the needs of both pragmatic buyers and those who choose a car solely at the behest of their hearts.

Ford Mondeo 2010 is a slightly modified version of the fourth generation of the model that appeared in 2007. The front lights are framed with LEDs that perform the function of daytime running lights and make the updated Mondeo more “high-tech”.

But the main changes that have occurred with the 2011 Ford Mondeo are hidden under the hood. The designers have done their best and significantly improved the technical characteristics of the car.

A 2.2-liter turbodiesel and a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 200 and 240 horsepower, respectively, can be a real pride of their creators. From 1400 to 5500 rpm, ninety percent of the torque is available, which provides excellent acceleration and the possibility of sharp acceleration from at least 80, at least from 120 kilometers per hour. The pre-styling versions could boast of almost the same results, but they did not have the efficiency that the new engines have. The Ford Mondeo, whose fuel consumption was more than nine liters per hundred kilometers, is now content with less than eight, and this despite the fact that the Ford Mondeo's power has increased by almost ten percent. But a real breakthrough in terms of efficiency was shown by the Ford Mondeo with a 2.2 TDC turbodiesel. The fuel consumption of the Ford Mondeo, equipped with this magnificent engine, is just over nine liters of diesel fuel per hundred. This is Mondeo 2012, technical specifications have always met high standards.

Ford Mondeo can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed PowerShift robotic gearbox. The Ford Mondeo automatic transmission is characterized by smooth gear shifting, and in sport mode, it is also fast. The Mondeo manual transmission has an enviable shifting clarity, which emphasizes its advantage over an automatic one, which is not adapted to the realities of a snowy Russian winter.

The new Ford Mondeo, as before, has excellent driving characteristics. The car is sensitive to every action of the steering wheel and perfectly maintains the desired trajectory of rotation. When cornering, the Mondeo shows minimal roll and practically “sticks” to the road with all four wheels. The new Mondeo can be optionally equipped with an adaptive suspension that automatically adjusts the damping force, depending on the selected mode from the three available. But, unfortunately, this option is too expensive and, moreover, it is not installed on all modifications. The new Ford Mondeo 2012 easily copes with the unevenness of the road surface, without creating an unpleasant “bubbling”.

Restyling Ford Mondeo touched, of course, not only the appearance of the car and its driving characteristics. Ford Mondeo, the new body of which received a number of changes, was also enriched with a new interior. The word "enriched" is all the more appropriate, given the fact that thanks to improved leather trim and expensive soft plastic door trim and front panel, the interior has become really richer compared to previous versions. New Mondeo 2012 has, as before, high ergonomics. The designers completely redesigned the interior of the car. Being, in fact, between the E and D classes, the Ford Mondeo 2012 has a huge cabin compared to its competitors. The stock of free space is sufficient both in the front and in the rear seats. The seats themselves are quite comfortable, but at the same time provide excellent support when cornering.

But for starters - the usual setting of mirrors, chairs and audio systems. Yes, the update of the car has benefited - the front panel has become darker, the center console has been changed, to which a large touch screen has been added. As a result, the interior looks more solid than in previous versions. But, unfortunately, difficulties arose. Firstly, in order for the top “music” to start sounding good, you need to delve into the system settings for a long time. And, secondly, tall drivers can rest their foot on the steering column - Mondeo has never had such a problem before. Most likely, this is due to the peculiarity of the driver's landing behind the wheel.

The car is "charged" with a mass of options that provide passive and active safety for the driver and passengers. Along with the standard head restraints and airbags, the 2012 Ford Mondeo has a few updates. These include systems for monitoring blind spots and tracking road markings. The first of them receives information from sensors located on the rear bumper and, in the event of an obstacle or a car within a radius of three meters, signals the driver. A camera located on the windshield monitors the road markings, in the event of a collision with which the steering wheel begins to vibrate slightly.

Multimedia in Mondeo restyling can be optionally supplemented with an audio system with ten speakers and a subwoofer, which, with a power of 256 watts, produces excellent clear sound. There is also a navigation system. For those who like to “play”, the on-board computer offers the “eco-rally” function: if the driving style is optimal, the flower petals on the seven-inch control screen turn green. With an optional extra, rear seat passengers can enjoy high-quality DVD viewing thanks to headrest-mounted screens.

The climate control system maintains a comfortable temperature in the car interior, and optionally installed ventilation, which has five modes and a seat heating system, helps passengers feel comfortable at any time of the year. However, the abundance of many electronic "assistants" increases the price of the car, and this can scare away potential buyers. The price of the cheapest new Ford Mondeo with manual transmission starts at 760 thousand. And the Ford Mondeo 2012 equipped with an automatic transmission, the prices of which exceed one million, already look much less affordable. In top trim levels, the new Ford Mondeo 2012 costs from 1,120,000 rubles and more. Although, it is worth noting that the prices of competitors are still noticeably higher. So, for example, 2.0 TSI will cost 1,400,000. As a result, the winner is still the Ford Mondeo 2012, the price of which is lower than its competitors with the same quality. In a word, Ford Mondeo 2012, the technical characteristics and design of which meet the highest standards, deservedly by consumers. Motorists who have already purchased this car say a lot of good things about it. The Ford Mondeo is an economical, practical and low maintenance vehicle. Heated seats and a huge interior are also praised. Of the complaints, mediocre sound insulation, a small rattle of the cabin on a bad road, vibration of the clutch pedal can be noted. But the general assessment of most motorists puts only positive. And the specialists of the Ford auto concern are not going to rest on their laurels and the new Ford mondeo 2013 has already been presented at the Detroit Auto Show.

One of the clearest examples of the attention to detail that goes into creating the Ford Mondeo is the new LED daytime running lights that make your car more visible to other road users. They look stylish and, thanks to the latest LED technology, consume far less energy than conventional low beam headlights.

High intensity bi-xenon headlights

The New Mondeo's bi-xenon headlights are more than twice as powerful as halogen headlights, while consuming a third less energy. They are equipped with static cornering headlights and washers. (Option)

Rear LED lights

Bright car detail. Powerful and durable LED lights make your car more visible on the road and add to the attractive appearance. (Included as standard)

Rear View Camera

When reverse gear is engaged, the navigation system display automatically shows the image from the rear view camera, which allows you to see objects behind the car and maneuver safely.
