Civil "Tiger. Tiger, civilian version: how a military jeep was adapted Vehicle weight tiger

19.07.2019

For a long time, the niche of a lightly armored car in Russian army empty - from the transport there was either the famous Ulyanovsk "goat", which does not even protect against light small arms, or voracious and often redundant for traveling purposes BRDM, or even armored personnel carriers.

The vacant place was taken by the Arzamas armored car of high cross-country ability GAZ-2330 "Tiger" in many of its variations - from a command and staff vehicle to an armored car of the fifth protection class, which can withstand shelling from a 7.62 mm machine gun with armor-piercing cartridges.

Interest in a variety of military equipment has always been shown by a civilian buyer. And, if an American, buying a Hummer, gets only a car stylized as an army HMMVV on units Chevrolet Tahoe, then the Russian was much more fortunate: the version of the Tiger car available on the civilian market under the number 233001 has a minimum of differences from the army car.

Equipment Lesson: Technical Specifications of the Tiger Car

The Russian “Tiger” is somewhat reminiscent of a caterpillar German namesake, most likely, angular shapes and a monstrous mass of 6200 kilograms for a passenger car, which requires category “C” rights from the driver, are to blame for this. At the same time, there is no booking on the car, although the additional 200 kilograms for this car seems insignificant.

The movement of the "Tiger" is driven by a unit worthy of its mass - a Cummins turbodiesel with a capacity of 205 hp. or no less solid domestic YaMZ engine-5347-10 with a volume of 6.7 liters and a power of 235 hp.

To match the engine and transmission: a five-speed manual transmission drives all four wheels equipped with wheel reduction gears and self-locking axle differentials. The center differential of the car is blocked by an electric drive and is controlled by a button in the cabin.

All these units, as well as the torsion bar suspension of the wheels and the system of their centralized pumping, have the same donor in the face of the BTR-80. This is not surprising since they are produced in the same factory.

The huge torque of the engine, combined with the low range in the transmission, short overhangs and forty centimeters of ground clearance mean excellent cross. If the car gets stuck, two winches (front and rear) will come to the rescue, developing a force of 4000 kgf each. However, planting the Tiger in the mud is not so easy, because even the algorithm of the gearshift lever (rear - forward, first - back) is designed for the convenience of overcoming the quagmire “in swing”.

Truck-worthy characteristics also apply to acceleration dynamics: the figure of 32 seconds to “hundreds” seems indecent, if you forget for a second that we are talking about a six-ton car with a maximum load capacity that adds another one and a half tons to this weight. Do not forget that stopping such a heaviness is not an easy task for drum brakes and off-road tires. With measured accelerations, the appetite of the engine fits into a quite reasonable 20 liters per 100 kilometers, which, combined with two 70-liter tanks, does not make you constantly think about the location of the nearest gas station.

Interior and equipment

From an angular monster the size of a Khrushchev room, one should not expect sophistication of the cabin. However, the specifics of the market dictate the opposite: the list of options available when ordering a car is limited only by the imagination and financial capabilities of the customer. As a rule, the design and finishing materials are negotiated individually when ordering.

The main differences in equipping the civilian "Tiger" from the army are the presence of an ABS system, air conditioning, front seats with electric adjustment in six positions, power windows, and also an important rear-view camera when parking in urban conditions (although the "Tiger" strives to show that this part is needed for the safety of the surrounding cars, and not for himself).

Second Generation Tiger

A number of characteristics of the "Tiger", decent for army transport, nevertheless turned out to be redundant for a utilitarian civilian car. First of all, of course, the stumbling block was the mass of the car, which requires very specific driving skills, and also applies to it all the restrictions adopted in the rules traffic for trucks.

Therefore, in 2006, the GAZ-3121, aka Tiger-2, was introduced. This device, although made on the same platform (and even retained remote control of tire pressure), significantly dropped both in weight - from 6200 kilograms to 3500, and in price - from 5.5 million rubles to 3 million.

Because the power unit"Tigra-2" - the same Cummins B205 as on the GAZ-233001, such a radical reduction in mass significantly improved the dynamics of the car, although for safety reasons maximum speed, limited by electronics, has become even less than its predecessor - 140 km / h instead of 160. Fuel consumption also fell by five liters.

The car has lost a considerable part of the army brutality, since a completely different body is installed on its frame, smaller in size and having smoother contours. It should be noted that the designers did not follow easy way copying other people's samples, and the appearance of the "Tiger-2" cannot be called skalked.

In the cabin, many details clearly point to the Nizhny Novgorod roots of the design - from the dashboard, taken from the Gazelle-Business, to the gray plastic facings familiar to GAZ and UAZ cars. Ergonomics designers, unfortunately, failed: for example, multifunction display shifted to the very bottom of the central panel, while the heater control unit was at the very top. This is especially striking against the background of the much more competently designed Tiger-1.

Purchase and price of a civilian vehicle Tiger

Very specific characteristics and price (and "Tiger" is the most expensive domestic a car, if you can call it that) make it a one-off thing that you can’t take for a test drive at the nearest car dealership. To order a car, you must contact directly its manufacturer, Arzamas Machine-Building Plant PJSC, and already at the time of ordering, specify the equipment of the car. Thus, each “Tiger” plant that has left the gates is unique in some way, and base price to 5.5 million rubles increases markedly.

The more “civilized” Tiger-2, despite the designation GAZ pointing towards Nizhny Novgorod, is also produced in Arzamas.

Outcome

In its own way "Tiger" for Russian market is a unique phenomenon - the combination of the qualities of a real SUV contrasts with a considerable price, which for most buyers makes the car a fashionable urban curiosity. And, indeed, civilian "Tigers" can be seen more often on the Moscow asphalt than in the swamps near Moscow.

The idea of using special vehicles in an armed conflict zone is far from new. Such vehicle, in addition to having reliable armored protection and installed weapons, it must have excellent cross-country ability. Vivid examples army SUVs were the Hammer and Willys jeeps. The latter option was widely used in World War II. In this century, Russian designers are engaged in the creation of such a car. One of the results of such work was the Tiger armored car. The increased cross-country ability inherent in this SUV and highest reliability explain its great popularity with the military. Information about the history of creation, device and technical characteristics of the armored car "Tiger" is contained in the article.

Excursion into history

According to experts, the finest hour of armored vehicles fell on the years of the First World War. In the production of such cars, a bulletproof and anti-fragmentation system was used. 1904 was the year of the appearance of the first Russian armored vehicles, which were produced by the French company Sharon, Girido and Voy. A year later, the transport units produced by this company were already in service with the army. In terms of such a parameter as mobility, armored vehicles were not inferior to cavalry. At the same time, the reliable protection of the crew from bullets gave the cars a significant advantage. Given the weaknesses that were inherent in the tanks of that time, armored vehicles became real and effective tool conducting combat.

About current realities

Over time, there is a change in the appearance of the army and military strategy. Now industrial capabilities are on a completely different level and allow the development and production of new and improved military equipment. Today, armored vehicles are reliably protected vehicles that can increase the mobility of both army and special forces. Reconnaissance, raids behind enemy lines, the delivery of personnel to the place of hostilities and fire support have become the main areas of application of armored vehicles in the army. Due to the fact that cramped urban conditions are not an obstacle for such cars, they are quite popular among police special forces soldiers.

About armored vehicles in other countries

NATO member states take part in various re-emerging military conflicts. In connection with this circumstance, when designing new models of military equipment, developers have to pay much attention to the level of protection of soldiers. In 2009, the United States military command placed an order with Oshkosh Truck for 1,000 M-ATV armored vehicles. This 14.5-ton armored car, whose carrying capacity is 1900 kg, is capable of speeds up to 105 km/h. For this transport unit, a turbodiesel with a capacity of 370 Horse power.

In addition to this order, the United States Department of Defense announced a tender for the creation of a domestically produced armored vehicle capable of replacing the already obsolete Hammer. In Germany, law enforcement agencies have ATF Dingo armored vehicles with a V-shaped bottom, which effectively provides mine protection, and LAPV Enok, which are characterized by excellent speed characteristics. From the countries of the former Soviet Union among the military equipment of this class, the Ukrainian-made Dozor-B and KrAZ MPV TC vehicles are the most famous. Design Russian armored car"Tiger" was launched in the late 90s. The work was carried out taking into account all the advantages and disadvantages inherent in foreign technology. Armored car "Tiger" (photo army car in the article) in the technical documentation is listed as STS GAZ-2330.

Where did it all begin?

In 1999, King Abdullah II of Jordan began to worry about the state of the domestic armed forces. Soon, in order to carry out their modernization, a special company Design and Development Bureau was created on his initiative. Jordanian military experts felt that the royal army needed a special SUV, alternative American Hummer. Armored cars produced in the United States did not suit the Arabs because they were very expensive and very costly to maintain.

Create new armored car was entrusted to Bin Jabr Group Ltd, which soon handed over the order to Russian designers from Gorky machine-building plant. The task of the Russian side was to design three prototypes of an armored car with various options body. The equipment was developed exclusively for the needs of the army, the creation of a civilian version was not provided. Since the American Hummers often broke down, the new armored vehicles had to be easy to manufacture and reliable enough to operate in difficult conditions desert.

Result

The American Hammer was taken as the basis for an army armored vehicle. Also, Russian designers used the units and components of the 80th model of the armored personnel carrier and the Vodnik vehicle.

Over a new combat transport unit worked on several Russian factories and KB. Two years later, the customer was provided with an armored and civilian armored options military vehicle, under the designation Gaz-2975 "Tiger". In 2001, a weapons exhibition was held in Abu Dhabi, at which the Tiger armored car was demonstrated to the public. Despite the fact that the equipment was approved by the customer, the government, for unknown reasons, refused to buy it. However, in 2005, the production of similar armored vehicles was launched in Jordan. Russian car builders have acquired a ready-to-implement project and rich experience in the manufacture of equipment of this class. According to experts, initially in Russia they did not plan to assemble these armored vehicles.

However specifications armored car "Tiger" aroused interest in Russian law enforcement agencies Oh. As a result, the Gorky Machine-Building Plant had a new customer. The initial draft of the armored vehicle available to the designers was subject to careful revision, taking into account the requirements imposed by the Russian security forces. The work lasted for one year. In 2002, Moscow hosted automobile exhibition, to which "Tigers" were delivered in the amount of five units. In Russia, this armored vehicle is already listed as Gaz-2330 "Tiger". Armored cars in the amount of two units were tested for a short time in the Moscow SOBR. Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia became interested in the technique. Arzamas Machine-Building Plant in 2002 received the first order for the manufacture of a small batch of Tiger armored vehicles. Soon, this vehicle was also interested in other law enforcement agencies. According to experts, there has been a need for such a car for a long time: mainly for the transportation of middle-level commanders both in wartime and in peacetime.

About design features

Design work on the Russian armored car "Tiger" was carried out taking into account the wishes of the special services. According to one version, the developers of the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant used the GAZ-66 units and assemblies. However, this judgment is refuted by experts, since both cars have only a wheel formula in common. Armored car "Tiger" (photo of the transport unit is presented in the article) with a rigid frame with an independent torsion bar suspension, for which hydraulic shock absorbers. A vehicle with an armored three-door body that can carry up to nine fighters. In addition, the body is adapted for the transportation of various goods, the total weight of which does not exceed 1.2 tons.

About the running gear

In an effort to provide high speed movement of an armored car on a highway, asphalt road and off-road, the developers used new torsion bars, a strong linkage suspension and energy-intensive shock absorbers in the design of the car. According to experts, due to these elements, the Tiger is equally stable in any conditions. Due to the presence of a modified suspension, permanent all-wheel drive, high ground clearance and a well-designed wheelbase, the armored car is successfully operated in areas with wet and swampy soils. On the highway, the equipment moves at a speed of 150 km / h, in off-road conditions - 75 km / h.

About the power plant

Initially, the Russian armored car used a turbocharged Cammins B205 engine manufactured in the United States. This diesel engine is characterized by high dynamic qualities. The power of the power unit is 210 horsepower. Recently, American diesel engines have been replaced with similar Russian YaMZ-534 engines, for which turbocharging is provided. These 6-cylinder units fully comply with the Euro-3 eco-standard and, despite their compactness, have more power, how imported analogues. Russian motor capable of developing power up to 235 hp. With.

About weapons

On the roof of the army model of the Tiger armored car there is a special turntable on which modern small arms are mounted: Kord or Pecheneg heavy machine guns, AGS-17 or AGS-30 grenade launchers. According to experts, two shooters can fire from this armored vehicle at the same time and in any direction. For the military version of the Tiger, separate armored gun modules of both Russian and foreign manufacture are provided. Ammunition for the guns is contained in special compartments with which the armored car is equipped. In addition, technology has special mounts, with which the crew can use additional weapons: hand-held rocket-propelled grenades and MANPADS. For convenient operation of armored vehicles at night, the army version of the "Tiger" was equipped with two powerful searchlights, which are controlled from the cabin.

About military equipment from the Russian manufacturer Zvezda

Armored car "Tiger" became the basis for the creation of various prefabricated models. Sprues from which the car is assembled are contained in a colorful box. Due to the fact that the participation of this armored vehicle ensured the legitimacy of the referendum and opposition to aggressive acts by Ukrainian nationalists and extremist Tatars, strategically important objects of Crimea are depicted on the box.

For example, on the left side is the airport terminal in the city of Simferopol. The scale of the Russian armored car "Tiger" "Zvezda" is 1 to 35. For the manufacture of sprues, the manufacturer used gray plastic, to simulate tires - black dense rubber. The glass elements of the model are represented by transparent parts. Rear-view mirrors - mirror film. Judging by the numerous consumer reviews, this Zvezda product looks very naturalistic. The strength of all plastic elements is also appreciated.

Finally

The Russian defense industry produces various armored vehicles for the needs of the army and other law enforcement agencies. Ministry staff emergencies and special services use Typhoon, Medved and Volk vehicles. On the basis of IVECO LMV L65, produced in Italy, Russian designers created a licensed version, which in Russia was called "Lynx".

According to experts, for a long time between the armored vehicles "Lynx" and "Tiger" there was a struggle for the right to be accepted into the Russian Armed Forces. As a result, due to the high technical characteristics, the military preferred the Tigers. South Ossetia became the place where these armored vehicles underwent a full-scale baptism of fire. High efficiency the technique proved during the clashes in Georgia.

GAZ Tigr is a multi-purpose SUV developed by the Russian concern GAZ and released on consumer market in 2002. The car turned out to be so successful that then its army variation was released - the GAZ-2975 Tiger with an armored body and laminated glass that can withstand a direct hit by a bullet. It is interesting that initially these cars were developed by order of the UAE, and after the order was completed they were also released to the Russian consumer market.

It looks like Gaz 2330 Tiger

They were first presented at the end of 2001 in Abu Dhabi at an exhibition dedicated to developments in the military sector.

Naturally, the GAZ-2330 Tiger has all-wheel drive (4x4 base), the ability to block the differential (that is, switch to single-drive auto mode), and has increased cross-country ability. Clearance - 400 mm, which is more than enough to move in the most difficult conditions off-road. However, the weight of such a unit is about 6 tons. A little later, the manufacturer released a modification of the GAZ-233001 Tiger car, which had similar technical characteristics, but already had an unarmored body. Due to this, the weight of the car was reduced to almost 3 tons.
The engine for this car was developed by Cummins.

Car engine gas 2330 Tiger

In the classic version of the car, a Cummins B205 power unit was used, which produced 204 hp. and was turbocharged. This was more than enough to develop a speed of 120-140 km / h with a full load (the same 6 tons). The same unit later migrated to the army version of the vehicle. At the time of the start of sales of the civilian variation, it was estimated at $120,000. And it was a relatively small cost, given that the car was protected in the second class, that is, it was quite suitable for combat operations. Naturally, in the civilian version, he has undergone many changes regarding sound insulation, installed equipment, but the principle of operation remained identical to that originally specified.

Features GAZ Tiger

Even directly at the exhibition, it was demonstrated how the civilian Tiger easily climbed the dirt surface at an angle of 45 °.

At the same time, its suspension was completely independent, that is, each of the wheels had the ability to lower / rise regardless of the parallel one. Due to this, the car easily overcame any obstacles on the road in the form of cobblestones, pits, and all-wheel drive made it easy to get out even from deep mud puddles.

In September 2006, an experimental updated Tiger 2 was introduced, in which a Steyr engine with a power of 190 hp was pre-installed. And the complete set of the chassis remained without any changes. In it, as in the army version of the Tiger 2, it was provided centralized system tire inflation, pressure adjustment. The price has remained at the same level - from $ 120,000 and above, depending on the chosen configuration. In the army GAZ Tiger, the technical characteristics were slightly improved in the direction of better protection of the main units.

The appearance of the army vehicle Tiger

Due to this, it was almost impossible to damage the car, since in terms of protection it was only inferior in a few parameters to the American Hummer, which is considered one of the best army vehicles. But for GAZ Tiger, the price was almost 3 times lower, which was the main advantage.
In 2007, the GAZ-SP46 Tigr was introduced, which is also a derivative modification of the classic GAZ-2330. Its feature is a very attractive appearance and a special protection status, which was never disclosed to journalists. It is not surprising, because this vehicle was used for the following cases:
  • participation in parades;
  • for transportation of the first persons of the state;
  • to protect the first persons in the event of an attack and the introduction of martial law;
  • for other special purposes not specified in the main documentation.

This version of the Tiger, of course, did not go on sale.

Only a few of these cars are listed on this moment on the balance sheet of the State Duma and the administration of the President of the Russian Federation. The UAE refused to buy them. The technical characteristics of this variation of the Tiger have not yet been established.

Mention should also be made of the GAZ-233034 Tiger, which is a modification of the civilian Tiger, but already for the needs of the police. It has the third class of ballistic protection, has special shutters in armored glass, through which you can conduct aimed fire.

This car had a hatch through which the crew could fire from personal weapons directly while driving. In this version, it was possible to install a radio block to provide communication with the control headquarters. A little later, in Tiger 2, it became possible to install additional equipment used by law enforcement agencies.

The body of the Tiger 2 and other off-road modifications based on Gaz, with the exception of SPM-2, is made of rolled, thermally treated armor plates 5 mm thick. This was more than enough to provide resistance against the bullet of a Kalashnikov assault rifle. It is also important that the body itself is removable for quick repairs and access to all units. This is especially important, since initially the car was focused specifically on operation in the combat zone.

In the SPM-2 variation, the body thickness was increased to 7 mm, according to the published technical documentation. And a little later, Nimr cars appeared, which were produced by AIA. The domestic Tiger 2 just served as the prototype. And in some modifications of this car, the body thickness was increased to 9 mm.

True, they never appeared on free sale and were used only to transport top officials in some states (among them China, Syria, etc.). At one time, they also produced a headquarters variation of the Tiger - KShM R-145BMA Tiger. It was a modification of the army version with protection increased to the fifth class. This car easily withstood a direct hit from more powerful RPG-type guns. True, no one gave a guarantee that the car would be able to drive again after such an impact, but the protection of personnel was provided in full.

Capabilities of the civilian GAZ-2330

GAZ-2330, even in the factory configuration, included a power steering, which made it very easy to control it, pneumatic boosting of the brakes (which in fact were hydraulic). Suspension - torsion bar, which, according to the assurances of the manufacturer, easily coped with overcoming barriers with a height of 1.2 m.

Civil modification of the car GAZ 2330 Tiger

Its price is from 80,000 dollars at the moment. By the way, they are produced today, but in total 1200 models were produced (mostly on order). Despite the very efficient engine, the Tiger consumed only 25 liters of fuel per 100 km, which is considered a very economical mode of operation.

At the same time, the motor continued to work in almost any conditions, be it a 30-degree frost or a 50-degree heat. A capacious liquid-cooled radiator (Tosol-40 or Tosol-60, depending on the modification) was responsible for cooling.

It should be mentioned that a 205-horsepower engine was installed in the traditional Tiger, while a 195-horsepower engine was installed in the Tiger 2. The latter consumed only 22 liters, but gave out almost identical power, allowing you to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 32 seconds.

Tiger car interior design

Maximum top speed- 160 km / h, however, it was possible to achieve it only under reference conditions. In the "field" it was possible to reach only 127 km / h with a minimum load (only 2 crew members, without additional equipment).

Russian multi-purpose vehicle off-road, armored car, army off-road vehicle. Produced by GAZ Group (JSC GAZ, Russia) at the Gorky Automobile and Arzamas Machine-Building Plants, with YaMZ-5347-10 (Russia), Cummins B-205 engines. Some early models were equipped with GAZ-562 (licensed Steyr), Cummins B-180 and B-215 engines.

History of creation

Bin Jabr Group Ltd (BJG) from the UAE acted as the direct customer of the multi-purpose vehicle, having allocated 60 million US dollars for the development and production of prototypes. The end customer was King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) of the Jordanian King Abdullah II. The main executor and coordinator of the project was a subsidiary of the Gorky Automobile Plant (JSC GAZ) CJSC Industrial Computer techologies"(PKT). The first samples of the Tiger HMTV were presented in Abu Dhabi at the IDEX-2001 International Arms Exhibition.
The customer liked the cars, but as a result, the contract for the supply of the Tiger was never signed, however, in Jordan in Al Dulail, the Arab-Jordanian joint venture Advanced Industries of Arabia (AIA, 80% of the shares from BJG) began production of identical Nimr armored vehicles in June 2005 in various designs.
So GAZ had a backlog - a car developed and ready for mass production. Several cars of the second series were assembled at GAZ - with a different appearance and interior. It was they who, under the name GAZ-233034 "Tiger", were presented at MIMS-2002.
After at the end of the same year two prototypes of the car entered the Moscow SOBR for trial operation, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation became interested in the car and acted as the customer for the Tigers. Serial production of Tiger vehicles was organized at the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant (AMZ), where it is carried out to this day. At the Gorky Automobile Plant, Tiger cars are no longer produced.
Currently, AMZ OJSC (part of the management perimeter of Military Industrial Company LLC) is mass-producing following models car "Tiger":
- GAZ-233034 - SPM-1 "Tiger" ballistic protection level for class 3;
- GAZ-233036 - SPM-2 "Tiger" ballistic protection level according to class 5;
-GAZ-233014 "Tiger" - an army version of an armored vehicle;
-KSHM R-145BMA "Tiger" - command and staff vehicle;
-GAZ-233001 "Tiger" - off-road vehicle in an unarmored five-door body.

Information about the launch of production of the new Tiger-2 was announced by the managing director of the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant Vasily Shupranov.
The base of the SUV remained without any changes, which even the centralized tire inflation system combines with the standard army "Tiger". The civilian version was equipped with Steyr turbodiesels with a power of 190 hp. or six-cylinder Cummins B205 with 205 hp. and is designed for speeds up to 140-160 km / h. Some details for the interior of the SUV were borrowed from the Gazelle and Volga, and according to external design there were similarities with the Hummer-2 style.
With a weight of 3500 kg, the carrying capacity of the Tiger-2 is 1200 kg, fuel consumption per 100 km is 15 liters. SUV length - 5700 mm, width and height - 2300 mm, ground clearance- 400 mm, wheelbase - 3300 mm, where the front and rear track- 1840 mm. Compared with military modification the new Tiger-2 has become 2800 kg lighter. The price of the Tiger-2 was planned at $120,000, or about 4,200,000 rubles.

In 2007, a decision was made to prepare and use Tiger vehicles as front cars.

The front "Tiger" used a two-door open body type "cabriolet", which provides ergonomically convenient and facilitated entry and exit of the parade host. The car was equipped with a hard removable roof.

For the trim of the three-seater saloon (two seats in front + one seat in the rear), natural finishing materials and elite leather interior trim were used, corresponding to the level modern cars VIP class. For the convenience of driving while standing in the cabin, a handle-handrail with height adjustment is equipped. In the trunk in the stern of the car there was a spare wheel removed for the duration of the parade and special communications equipment of the “Rehearsal” type. The smoothness of the course during celebrations on the front "Tiger" is provided by the Allison Transmission 1000 series automatic transmission (used also on the H1 Hummers). The engine used was Cummins B with 205 hp. The mass of the car was reduced from 7200 to 4750 kg.

In November 2008, one sample of the new parade "Tiger" was presented to the Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov at a demonstration of equipment manufactured by VPK LLC. As a result, three cars were accepted into the balance of the Ministry of Defense and transferred to the Leningrad Military District to participate in the parade during the Victory Parade on May 9, 2009 on Palace Square in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War.

Anti-tank missile system Kornet-EM at MAKS-2011.
At the MAKS-2011 air show, the Tula Instrument Design Bureau (KBP) demonstrated a modernized Anti-Tank Rocket Complex"Kornet-EM", in the form of an automatic launcher with sighting systems and 4 containers of ATGM "Kornet-EM". Two such installations were mounted on a modified SPM-2 GAZ-233036 Tigr chassis - in this form the complex was demonstrated at an open exposition. The machine is equipped with two retractable launchers for 8 missiles and operator gunner equipment (control panel with screens for displaying images from sighting systems), as well as additional ammunition for 8 missiles.
Currently, this self-propelled anti-tank system is being tested at the Kapustin Yar test site. Presumably, "Cornet-D" - possible notation complex for the Russian Armed Forces, and Kornet-EM is the export name.

-GAZ "Tiger" "project 420"

In early 2010, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, at a training ground in Solnechnogorsk near Moscow, while getting acquainted with Russian armored vehicles, personally drove a Tiger armored car with a 420-horsepower Dodge Cummins ISB engine with a volume of 5.9 liters, originally intended for a Dodge Ram pickup truck, and automatic transmission Chrysler 545RFE, also installed on Dodge pickups. Externally, the car was distinguished by an additional air intake above the hood and enlarged brake drums. The acceleration time of the car to 100 km/h has been reduced from 35 to 23 seconds compared to the standard versions, and the top speed has increased from 140 to 160 km/h.

During the Interpolitech-2010 exhibition, the Military Industrial Company presented a modernized Tigr-M vehicle. The car has a new diesel engine YaMZ 5347-10, new armored hood, filtering unit, increased number of seats up to 9, the turntable with a double-leaf hatch was replaced by one square-shaped swing hatch. The doors are equipped with crossbar locks, the efficiency of the brake system has been improved, and a forced differential lock has been installed.
