Great Wall Hover H5 Russian assembly: five years in service. Great Wall Hover H5 - an alternative version of the UAZ Patriot

In 2011, a full-scale assembly of Great Wall Hover H5 SUVs began at a plant in the city of Gzhel. They will be discussed

The first public appearance of the Great Wall Hover took place in 2005. Assembled in the image and likeness of the Isuzu Axiom and with licensed Mitsubishi units, the SUV looked attractive enough to find its admirers not only at home. In Russia, in fact, it was Hover that at one time was able to compete with Russian SUVs, being, moreover, noticeably better equipped. The only thing that upset Great Wall customers was the unstable build quality and components, disgusting service and the lack of a spare parts warehouse. In addition to China, Hover was assembled for some time in Cherkessk at the Derways plant, in the Far East and, after a slight hitch in the 2008 crisis, in Gzhel. During this time, Hover simply changed to Hover H3 and on October 5, 2011, it was supplemented by our hero - Hover H5. This year there was a slight restyling, so we will talk about, so to speak, the pre-styling H5.

NOT ALL GOLD WHAT GRUMPS

Great Wall Hover H5 buyers are a fairly monolithic contingent. Men tend to be middle-aged and older, handy, educated, family-oriented and out-of-town. Women, who are surprisingly numerous among H5 drivers, value Hover for solidity, a sense of security and good comfort. To all this, it is worth adding that the Hover H5 is often the first SUV in the family after the cars. The geography of sales is also wide. Both in the Caucasus and in Karelia one can find a characteristic streamlined silhouette.

For the entire time of production, two engines were installed on the Hover H5 - gasoline and diesel. The main, basic and most suitable engine should be called a licensed copy of the Mitsubishi 4G64 Sirius series, which produced 128 hp. With. with a volume of 2.4 liters, it consumed AI-92 and did not differ in serious problems.

The diesel engine with a working volume of 2.0 liters was developed by Chinese minders in cooperation with foreign ones. A turbodiesel with a common rail fuel scheme develops 150 hp. With. and 310 Nm of torque. The motor is peculiar ... It pulls well only with an “open” turbine, while it can easily consume 13-14 liters of fuel per hundred. At cruising highway speeds, it is quite economical and fits into 8 liters.

Diesel cars, by the way, are brought from China, from a factory in Baoding, the birthplace of Great Wall. It is this diesel engine that can become a real headache, toothache and other pain for the owner. The problem lies in the fuel. No matter how many filters you put in, no matter how you choose gas stations, you may still be unlucky. Then, by 60,000–70,000 km, the diesel Hover starts to be reluctant to start in the morning. Instead of 1-1.5 seconds of starter rotation, 3-4 seconds are required ... Yes, and more than once ... This is the first symptom that the nozzles are not working normally. Flushing does not help, a replacement is needed, and repairs have not yet been learned to do. And now, attention! A new injector for the Great Wall Hover H5 diesel engine costs… 26,000 rubles! One!

On this, in fact, you can finish the story about the diesel version, but since they are still taken, let's add a little more tar. Machines are flowing to services to replace the head of the block. And for one gasoline there are 10 diesel ones. It all starts with a deterioration in cooling, then the stove stops driving heat, then leads the head. Symptoms indicate airing the system. Cause? Terrible gasket quality. The head costs 70,000 rubles. out of employment.

Petrol. The licensed version of the Sirius motor from MMC is already two hundred years old.
She fits Hover perfectly, she should be taken

But that's not all. The cooling system is made in such a way that it is almost impossible to expel air from it. Previously, the owner was given one and a half liters of antifreeze in his hands and said: they say, go home, pour it yourself ... If the poor fellow does not come for another head replacement within a month or two, he was lucky: he followed carefully. Repairing the heads is practically useless. When overheated, microcracks appear in them, which can cause antifreeze to get into the oil, into the cylinders, anywhere. The fourth cylinder suffers first ...

Against the background of a diesel engine, an ancient gasoline engine looks like Belgium against the background of Chechnya. Quietly, without pathos, democratically, economically and sensibly. There are overheatings, and oil drives out from under the filter, but, you see, these are such charming little things! By the way, unlike a diesel engine, a gasoline engine can be serviced and repaired by yourself or in any more or less decent service.

Owner's opinion:Anton, GW Hover H5 2.4 MT 2012
Traded in my Hyundai Sonata for a 2012 Hover H5 last summer, paying only extra
200 000 rub. Immediately lifted it, threw the "reserve" on the roof, put gas under the bumper. Now I have one and a half thousand kilometers of autonomous run. For the year I traveled half the country, for which the car was bought. There were no serious breakdowns, only burned-out light bulbs were taken out, until I was taught to start the engine by turning off the light. Power surge at startup kills even Bosch. I regret that my car does not have an “automatic”, they say it turned out to be reliable.

BETWEEN THE LINES

Approximately half of the Great Wall Hover H5 owners regularly move off the pavement. Approximately one in four “makes their car beautiful”, in the sense of a lift. Moreover, even at an authorized service, it will come out not at all expensive and will have almost no effect on the warranty. By the way, since we are already talking about the obligations of the manufacturer, it should be noted that, firstly, Great Wall is represented by the Irito company, with which you will sue. And secondly, serious problems cannot be solved without a trial - the guarantee is so famously twisted that only the case when the frame of the car bursts in half right in the cabin will be guaranteed. The failure of the power window control unit is non-warranty, the breakdown of the wiper mechanism is also. The crosses, the all-wheel drive connection mechanism, the catalyst, the clutch are to blame. Fuel system - bad gasoline ... There were cars with a hole in the inner CV joint. Yes, you guessed right. Dealers change at their own expense if the client is clingy. Chrome chipped? Not to us! Moreover, buyers, as a rule, are not lawyers, and indeed more often romantics and gullible, otherwise they would not have looked at the “Chinese”. Commitments are not read, relying on Chinese honesty. Well, yes, they are shot for corruption! But there are no fewer corrupt officials...

Baggage. "Chinese" is suitable if you do not need to carry a long one,
fragile and heavy - the seats fold out with a step

But let's not talk about sad things. In the end, everyone has problems, and the Great Wall Hover H5 is still quite a reliable car. For example, the chassis calmly nurses any of our roads, up to 60,000–70,000 km without disturbing the owner. Then the lower ball joints may require replacement - 9000 rubles. for a couple with work. Expensive, because you have to disassemble the steering knuckle. Then the crosses can start tapping. For some reason, only one of the three is equipped with an oiler. In case of heavy operation in mud, it is important to pay attention to the condition of the covers of the hinges of the front axle axle shafts. They are made from not the most durable material. Somewhere around 100,000 km, the clutch “ends”. This mileage is very approximate, because in reality it depends solely on the owner. Very reliable automatic transmissions. There was a case when the box arrived at the service without oil at all - and nothing, it survived.

Passengers. There is plenty of room in the second row of seats, but the floor is a bit high

ELEVATOR UP

Patency in the standard version of the Hover H5 does not shine. The low front suspension subframe and the transverse beam to which the transmission is attached spoil everything. After the lift, it is possible to put wheels 31 / 10.5, which allows Hover to compete with, say, UAZ Patriot. For wheels larger than 32 inches, it is necessary not only to lift the suspension, but also to cut the body with arches. In principle, the chassis strength is enough, and when replacing the main pairs, the transmission withstands.

A basic lift of 40 mm can be made for 40,000 rubles. with a job at a dealership. It includes long-stroke shock absorbers, reinforced stabilizer links, longer rear springs. The torsion bars are twisted in front, and in order to ensure normal operation angles of the CV joints, the subframe with the gearbox is lowered on the washers. The clearance becomes 240 mm, taking into account the large wheels, which makes it possible to use the car as a tourist. At least the GWHover club is very active in all sorts of rides.

Equipment.
At one time, Hover took the buyer with a complete set of interior,
now the competitors have stepped up

Off-road, in addition to the usual troubles with the clutch, bodywork and CV joint anthers, the owner can expect trouble with connecting the front end. The actuator is not too tight and, as a rule, does not survive the ingress of water and dirt. In addition, if you skid without turning on all-wheel drive in advance, it will not turn on, because the front wheels also need to turn in order to avoid shock loads. What if the car is not moving? Sometimes they put a button for the forced operation of the mechanism, which helps out in such a situation.

No roads.
In the basic version, Hover does not shine with cross-country ability. But durable and easy to lift

You might get the impression that the Great Wall Hover H5 is only good for trips to the market for parts... This, of course, is not the case. The entire line of Great Wall SUVs are good forwarders. I myself traveled the Russian North-West and Scandinavia far and wide on Wingle, Hover H3 and H5. These cars did not deliver any other emotions, except for positive ones. Well, except that the driver's seat in SUVs is short and the pillow is set too low. The rest is all right. After all, the Hover H5 is one of those cars that is completely dependent on its owner, and if handled with care, it will last a long time. No wonder Confucius said: “A restrained person has fewer mistakes!”

Thank you for your help in preparing the material, the Eurocom Auto Trade dealership,

SUVs Great Wall Hover H5 are very popular among Russian motorists who prefer Chinese cars. Many of them confidently declare that the Hover H5 is the main competitor of the domestic one in our market. Is it really? Let's try to figure it out.
The first Great Wall Hover H5 appeared on the roads of Russia in 2011 and immediately sold out like hot cakes. The SUV attracted many buyers not only with its "serious" appearance, but also with the manufacturer's promises to provide the car with excellent cross-country ability, often very important in our climatic conditions. But let's leave the Chinese promises for a while, and return to the appearance of the car (see photo and video).

More SUV reviews:

The current second-generation Great Wall Hover H5 2012-2013 sold in Russia was frankly copied from the Isuzu Axiom of the 2001-2004 period, after which the car was slightly ennobled, in particular, adding more attractive headlights, clearly reminiscent of a similar element from the Mazda CX-7 .

In addition, Chinese designers have replaced the grille, added a different front bumper with a decorative stamping that mimics the underbody protection of top European and Japanese crossovers, and also slightly changed the contours of the wheel arches. It is worth noting that after the manipulations done, the appearance of the H5 has become noticeably more attractive, but it is still far from the standards of modern auto design.

Perhaps this gap in design can be eliminated in the updated version of the SUV, which has survived another (already third) restyling at the very beginning of May 2013. The Chinese announced a new version of the Hover H5 with chic and salute in Shanghai, but nothing is known about the timing of its appearance in Russia. However, even here it was not without banal imitation and copying of bright design solutions of famous world brands.

  • In terms of dimensions, the Gret Wall Hover H 5 is no different from its competitors, easily fitting into the standards of its class. The SUV is 4649 mm long, 1810 mm wide and 1745 mm high. The wheelbase is equal to 2700 mm exactly, the width of the front track does not exceed 1515 mm, and the rear track fits into 1520 mm, ground clearance (clearance) - 240 mm.
  • The curb weight of the H5 does not exceed 1880 kg, and the maximum permissible gross vehicle weight of the SUV must not exceed 2280 kg.
  • The “five” is completed with seventeen-inch alloy wheels with six double spokes with 235/65 R17 tires.

We also note that the greatest consumer demand in our country is for cars painted in shades of silver and black graphite. However, their popularity may be due to the fact that all other available shades are offered as an option for an additional fee.

The interior of the five-seater SUV Gretvol Hover H5 is not remarkable. The quality of finishing materials is rather average, but quite comparable, for example, with the same UAZ, which is considered the main domestic competitor of the Chinese.

The ergonomics of the front panel also does not rise above the average level, some of its elements are not very conveniently located, but the very concept of the design of the panel is noticeably outdated. Pleases only convenient instrument lighting, and a sufficiently large amount of free space for both front and rear passengers.

For the latter, by the way, comfortable adjustable head restraints are provided, but the front row of seats, although made in a sporty manner, is extremely uncomfortable and is not suitable for long trips.

Another plus of Hover 5 in the current generation is a roomy trunk, capable of taking up to 810 liters of cargo in the standard state, and with the rear row seats retracted and all 2074 liters.

Specifications Great Wall Hover H5: the body of the car rests on the frame and is complemented by a rather rigid suspension, which is based on an independent double-lever torsion bar at the front, and at the rear on a dependent spring circuit. All modifications are equipped with all-wheel drive, the constant part of which is transferred to the rear axle, and the front one is connected through an electronic clutch, which sometimes likes to fail if you put an SUV on its belly.
We also add that the transfer case of an SUV is equipped with a low gear, and this is a rarity not only among Chinese cars of this class.

The brakes of the Gray Wall Hover H5 are dual-circuit, with ventilated discs, ABS and EBD support. The steering of the off-road vehicle is based on a rack and pinion mechanism with a hydraulic booster.
The Chinese do not offer a large selection of engines for the Russian version of the Great Wall Hover H 5. There is one gasoline unit and one diesel, which, according to the manufacturer, is quite enough in our market. Judging by the reviews of the owners, it is better to give preference to a gasoline engine, since a diesel engine is very expensive to maintain, breaks down more often and has a very hard time going through the winter. As for the specific technical parameters of the power plants, the role of the gasoline unit is successfully performed by the 4G69 S4N Mivec engine, inherited by Hover 5 from the first generation Mitsubishi Outlander. This power plant with a volume of 2.4 liters develops 126 hp of power at 5000 rpm and produces about 205 Nm of torque, consuming an average of 10 liters of gasoline not lower than AI-92. The motor provides a maximum speed of 160 mph.
The diesel engine of the Great Wall Hover H5 is of its own Chinese production (GW 4D20), slightly modified, but adapted to Russia very clumsily. Its maximum power with a nominal volume of 2.0 liters is 143 hp at 4000 rpm, but the peak torque rests at 310 Nm. Diesel is more economical - 8.4 liters of average consumption, but with inept use of the gas pedal (which happens to most car owners), this figure easily soars up to 10 liters. An SUV with a diesel engine under the hood is capable of accelerating to 170 mph.
Gearboxes: by default, both engines are aggregated with a 6-speed synchronized manual transmission, but for the top-end version with a diesel power plant, an optional Korean 5-speed automatic transmission 5R35 Hyundai Powertech is provided.
We also add that during the current May restyling for the Hover H5, a new gasoline 2-liter turbo unit with a capacity of 190 hp (250 Nm of torque) was prepared, the appearance of which in Russia is not yet expected.

Test drives There have already been a lot of hover in our country, and they all showed one remarkable pattern: in urban conditions, the car behaves uncertainly, strainingly accelerating, overtaking with great difficulty and not demonstrating the necessary maneuverability. But it is worth going off-road and the Great Wall Hover H5 is transformed, once in its element. It is here that the Chinese is ready to compete in terms of cross-country ability with UAZ. But it is precisely to compete, since it is still too early to talk about superiority - the Chinese promises mentioned at the beginning, alas, have not fully come true.

Official dealers included frontal airbags, height-adjustable seat belts, a spoiler, climate control, an audio system, heated seats, fog lights, heated and electric side mirrors as standard in the Standart package. The price of the basic configuration of the Great Wall Hover H5 of 2013 production starts from 699 thousand rubles. For the version of the Great Wall Hover H5 Luxe, among the additional equipment of which we highlight a rear-view camera, leather interior, DVD multimedia center and parking sensors, dealers ask for 725 thousand rubles. Those who want to buy a diesel version performed by Luxe will have to pay at least 749 thousand rubles, but a modification with a diesel engine and automatic transmission will cost no less than 835 thousand rubles.
Like any other car, the Greatwall Hover H5 SUV has both strengths and weaknesses. Let's name the main ones.
Pros of Hover H 5:

  • good equipment,
  • High seating position for excellent visibility
  • high ground clearance,
  • Affordable price,
  • Cheap spare parts, inexpensive accessories and tuning, affordable repairs and maintenance.

Cons and possible problems of the Great Wall Hover H5:

  • No differential lock
  • Weak acceleration dynamics,
  • Weak factory battery
  • boring interior,
  • Uncomfortable front seats.

The review of the Great Wall Hover H5 was written solely for the sake of identifying the weak and which is so similar to its brother with the H3 index that you won’t immediately guess. Except perhaps only at a closer approach, when you consider the lights, the tailgate of the Great Wall Hover, the stamp for the license plate and the location of the emblem. And then, like a scientist who came across an ancient historical manuscript or a hunter who smelled game, you are impatiently waiting for one that will either allow you to enjoy all the benefits of a new car engine, or be disappointed with another manufacturer's stamping.

Careful Analysis of the Great Wall Hover Model

And the first thing to strive for when analyzing a new modification of a certain automobile is a comparison with a previous and similar model. In any case, there are clearly more artifacts in front of the new Great Wall Hover. Unlike its brother with a deliberately brutal face, the Wall Hover H5 crossover has a much softer and more modern disguise, similar to the Mazda CX-7, and, of course, the engine of the new Great Wall Hover deserves a separate discussion.

As for the interior, the twins cannot be distinguished here.

Everything is virtually identical. Neither the chaotic general combination of plastics of different textures, nor the awesome look of the manual transmission poker, nor the lack of hooks for clothes will hide from the views of the driver and passengers. Although all this is trifles, an unpleasant aftertaste is already beginning to accumulate. But still, after several days of living together with the Great Wall Hover, you begin to understand that the Chinese managed to give the interior a little solidity.

We look under the hood. There, a 2.4-liter engine from Mitsubishi, 136 hp, familiar to all owners of Eytreks and Outlanders. With.

But the developers of the new crossover added 10 Nm of torque, and the Great Wall SUV, along with the engine, automatically fit into Euro 4 standards. But it is still unknown whether a green collar, as some skeptics call the new environmental standards, will allow you to safely carry such a colossus weighing two tons.

Even the assembly of all parts: small, medium and large is very solid. Nothing and nowhere creaks, which is very pleasing.

There were also no rattling or so-called crickets during the ride.

In short, the salon meets all requirements. The review looks great, because of the high landing. But, however, the rear-view camera does not have a distance scale, and this is a minus. But the instrument panel is very convenient, on which there are quite large and easily perceived icons.

The ergonomics of the car are also at a height, which we put in the piggy bank of pluses. Various "twists", buttons and always at hand.

On the video - a review of the Great Wall Hover H5:

Upholstery

Used in the Great Wall Hover H5, in addition to textile upholstery, there is also a leather version. This is done not only for the sake of prestige, as the designers assure, but in terms of banal practicality. The Chinese are thoughtful people and they guessed before the Europeans that children, getting into the car, soil the fabric upholstery. After the outings loved by all family members, such upholstery goes straight to dry cleaning, because velor, for example, is not so easy to wash on your own. So the developers from the Celestial Empire decided to produce leather interiors. Rubbed with a cloth - and that's it!

The technical characteristics of the Great Wall Hover H5, which are given above, do not include the high seating comfort of the Chinese SUV in the description. They are as well made as they are comfortable. All the necessary adjustments work easily, but there is still a small minus. Seats, even those that are raised all the way, are placed low from the floor. But the Chinese cannot be blamed for this. They probably did not count on tall people whose legs would often numb with such seats.

But the uncomfortable seats in this regard on the Great Wall Hover H5 are only in the front, and everything is still spacious in the back, like on the H3. And even with the front seats pushed all the way back. All this, along with a high ceiling, makes the car and driving it a comfortable pastime for people taller than 180 cm.

Still, the Chinese took into account the growth of Europeans.

As for the trunk of the car, it is quite full-weight - 810 liters, and a rug with a curtain is included.

Chassis Great Wall Hover H5

Well, now the most important thing is the chassis of the SUV, which, like dessert, is finally in store.

Engine

Unlike its younger brother H3, which is equipped with an outdated and nondescript two-liter gasoline engine from Mitsubishi, the Hover H5 engine is completely different.

They are put on the Great Wall Hover H5 SUVs as a two-liter turbodiesel engine with 150 hp. With. with an "automatic" and mechanics, and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 136 liters. With. with mechanical transmission.

If everything is more or less clear with the gasoline version, after all, a lot of reviews were written on the Hover H3, let's focus on diesel modifications with automatic transmission.

Great Wall Hover H5 is equipped with a modern four-cylinder engine of the latest GW4D20 series. It can be stated openly that an engine of such power is entirely GW's own development. So, with a working volume of two liters, like the Hover H3, the engine is able to squeeze out 150 horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute! But that's not all. The design of the motor itself, although familiar to many, has a number of nuances. And the price of the Great Wall Hover H5 is much higher than the H3, because of this too.

For example, a four-valve with a variable length intake manifold deserves special attention. The Delphi Common-Rail fuel supply system has an operating injection pressure of 1800 bar, which is very good. And an excellent BorgWarner turbocharger gives the new Chinese SUV a slight advantage over some European and Japanese models. And if you add here also the new possibilities of torque equal to 310 Nm at 2800 rpm, everything becomes clear. Such indicators are as much as 110 Nm higher than the gasoline counterpart, which has an engine capacity of 2.4 liters and a power of 136 hp. With. Agree, not bad, right?

In addition to the turbodiesel, the H5 has a new automatic transmission with the 5R35 index. It was not developed by the Chinese themselves and copied completely from the version of the Korean products Hyndai Powertech - a five-speed hydromechanical unit that allows you to change gears manually.

The Chinese had to change the gear ratios in the main pairs of bridges under the "automatic". For gasoline engines, as you know, they were 4.22 and were slow, but for diesel engines, you already need to set high-speed pairs with a number of 3.9. And accordingly, the maximum speed increased from 160 km / h to 170 km / h.

Also not bad. For all cycles, the gasoline version showed 10.7; 8.2 and 9.4 liters, respectively, urban, suburban and mixed traffic. For a diesel engine, these same indicators are 8.9; 7.6; 8.4. Impressive, right?!

Although in real races the average consumption was not so small - almost 12 liters per 100 km. But the driver also needs to get used to the new engine.

Great Wall Hover H5 - new, diesel - displays a very controversial conceptual solution. So, he does not have a downshift and, which is very strange, the Chinese do not say anything about this. For any SUV, the presence of a "lower" is a prerequisite, but in this particular case, this, of course, is a minus.

Another surprise is the distribution. Instead of the usual and already respected part-time scheme by all motorists, the Chinese resorted to the help of BorgWarner. such a modification is highly controversial for use, especially in Russian conditions. In this case, a hardwired front axle is preferable. As for the body of the dispenser, it is aluminum and very flimsy. Torque is not transmitted directly to the rear wheels, but through an electromechanical clutch. In a word, here the Chinese developers are clearly too clever.

On the video - test Great Wall Hover H5:

Maybe for frameless cars, which even a dirty little puddle seems to be an obstacle, this is quite suitable, then for a brutal and powerful SUV, which, in fact, the Great Wall Hover H5 should become, is nonsense.

Let's get the benefits:

  • the appearance of the Great Wall Hover SUV, which has become much better;
  • full compliance with Euro-4 standards;
  • high technical characteristics of the diesel engine and automatic transmission;
  • power and easy overcoming obstacles on the road.

And cons:

  • chaotic placement of plastic in the cabin;
  • unattractive manual transmission gear knob;
  • uncomfortable seat adjustment, especially the driver's;
  • weak playfulness from a place.

In conclusion, we bring a summary: the SUV is quite acceptable as a novelty. It has a lot of modern details and systems. But still, the Chinese have not yet reached perfection in terms of the overall compliance of all parameters.

Release year: 2014
Fuel consumption: 13 l / 100 km

Advantages: frame construction, reduction gear, excellent cross-country ability, high ground clearance, roomy trunk, good equipment.
Flaws: inaccurate assembly in places, poor seat profile, squeaks in the cabin, slurred handling.

Review:

When I was looking for a new car, the country of origin was the least of my concerns. I needed a car with certain consumer properties that fit within the budget. But now, when I am writing a review, I clearly understand that there are a huge number of pseudo-specialists who want to throw a stone simply because they have already heard enough from those about the explosive mixture of which is a Chinese copy of an ancient Japanese model, assembled with crooked hands in Gzhel. I'll try to make it clear. I moved to Hover from the VAZ Quartet. An avid fisherman himself, the year before last he began to go ducking. Mushroom berries are a family hobby.

To make it clear and there are no questions like sweeter than carrots … at work I move to Camry 2011 onwards, so I have no idea about any kind of comfort. I wanted a car with good geometry and cross-country ability while not feeling inferior in the city. Brother Patriot, it is much larger, cheaper, puts Hover on both shoulder blades in terms of off-road qualities, but the bastard, firstly, crumbles, and secondly, it is extremely inconvenient in the city, and it doesn’t even enter my garage. And so with pleasure I would support a domestic manufacturer. So I chose a four-wheel drive frame rogue, with a lowering, high ground clearance, off-road geometry, with all this, comfortable and, in my opinion, cute on which it is convenient and not ashamed in the city and is not scary on moderate off-road. And the fact that the Chinese are collected from us give me a fuck, so far I haven’t found anything that would cause some incredible complaints. Everything is like any car, I have some complaints about Kamryukha.

Mileage is currently 11000 km. He captured both summer and autumn thaws and winter blizzards. I traveled on virgin snow, on sand, on gullies and puddles. Perhaps my experience will be useful to someone. And yet, I do not urge you to follow my example, on the contrary, I believe that the Hover is a specific car and will not suit everyone.

Exterior. After the purchase, exploring various specialized resources, I discovered that outwardly Hover turns out to be neither given nor taken by Isuzu Axiom thirteen years ago, the radiator grille and front optics were licked from the CX7, the taillights from Volvo, etc. For me, Hov is a completely self-sufficient car with a well-thought-out exterior design. If we compare, say, with the main competitor, which for some reason is considered our Patriot, then it is obvious that the Hover is more elegant and modern. When compared with the glamorous SUVs that literally flooded our roads, then it is inferior in some, and with someone on the level. By the way, if we talk about similarity, then, in my opinion, just all new models and not only SUVs are very similar to each other. There are some notes on assembly. The gaps are large and not uniform both in the body and in the cabin. The rear right door and the fifth had to be adjusted later.

Interior. In one phrase: simple and functional. The plastic is predominantly hard, does not look expensive, is sonorous and creaks right from the exit from the cabin. It’s not that annoying, but for a lot of money, I’ll say it straight out - this is not right. Armchairs, steering wheel, handbrake, gear lever in the skin. Looks stylish and tactilely pleasant. By the way, instead of leather on the seats, I would like velor, such a want from the recent right-hand drive past, I captured. Good velor is more pleasant for me than leather. The profile and padding of the front seats is poor. In corners it drags like in a four, the lower back after 100 km. asks for a walk, although there is an adjustable backwater. By the way, the driver's seat adjustments are electric, cool. But the steering wheel is only adjustable in angle. You can customize it for yourself, but let's say the flight is not enough for my wife. Due to the frame structure, the floor is high, respectively, the landing, although high, is semi-lying, the knees are higher than the waist. Accordingly, getting into the car had to get used to. As for equipment, everything is in order, well, almost. Climate control, media controls on the steering wheel, touch screen, rear view camera, DVD, heated front seats, auto light, rain sensor, parking sensors. But there are troubles, the climate in the machine does not hold, you have to adjust it manually, the rain sensor algorithm is still a mystery to me, there is no on-board computer in principle. The view from the reverse camera is not bad, but there are no dynamic lines, such as in the working Kamryukha, and this is a completely different calico. Shumka mediocre, I would like better. There is enough space both front and rear. The trunk is huge, and when folding the back row, there is no room for space at all, only a big step is obtained. By the way behind even the three of us it is quite possible to go. The tunnel is practically absent, the chair profile has three headrests. There is an armrest with cup holders, pockets in the doors. I can state one thing, it is pleasant and relatively comfortable to be in the Hover cabin. Of course, adjusted for class and cost.
Engine and box. The official releases indicate the power of 136 hp, I have 126 hp in my passport. In any case, more power did not hurt. The machine is heavy, the inherent power and torque do not give a feeling of sufficiency. For dynamics, it seems to be necessary to turn, but the joke is that the maximum moment is low, about 3 thousand, so it makes no sense to turn it higher. The box is long and you can drive 60 km / h in second gear, but with such characteristics it is not very good. There is enough traction and power in the city, off-road too. Discomfort only on the track and then conditional, it will accelerate sharply, let's say it is difficult to overtake. In the beginning, I wrote that I tested Hov in different elements. The car is really pret. There were a couple of times misunderstandings when turning on the lowering, it turns on only when it comes to a complete stop. And so no problem. And in the mud, and in the snow rushing like a tank. And often enough and rear-wheel drive. Tires are important. Stock is not the best option. In terms of consumption, I can’t say for sure according to my calculations in the city of about 13 liters.

suspension and handling. The suspension is stiff. This is especially felt in the back. Despite this, it sways along the waves and rolls decently in turns. Apparently this feature is associated with the design, when there is a double lever in front and a continuous beam in the back. But it's good off-road. Although there is also a nuance, it is difficult to hang out a long suspension travel, but when driving over repeated large bumps, there is a danger of swinging and hitting the bottom despite a decent clearance and off-road geometry. By the way, I installed protection in the cabin, it cost the top ten, I think not in vain. The steering wheel is not very informative, the feedback is weak. At high speeds on the highway you have to actively taxi.
