Replacing wheel bearings with UAZ Patriot. Import analogues of UAZ wheel bearings

The fact that there are NO imported analogues for our wheel bearings, I personally have known for a long time, and many others, of course ... :) There are even relevant topics on the forums on this issue, for example, here: forum.uazbuka.ru/showthread.php ?t=89668
However, inquisitive minds will probably never abandon the search for possible improvements to their hub units and increase their longevity :)
Given the fact that all sorts of Internet sometimes mislead us and confuse modernizers, now I’ll quickly show and tell everything and there will be an unambiguous answer to the question posed to everyone, even with pictures! :)
For technical advice and excerpts from technical documentation, thanks to DensDav, a specialist in this matter.

So, the UAZ wheel bearing has the following number: 127509. We open some catalogs, websites of online sellers and ... O MIRACLE! - we see an imported substitute for this bearing with the number 32209, we rub our hands and already imagine how our hub is spinning on some SKF or NSK, here:

But not everything is so simple: have you read the captions for the photo? Now let's figure it out. We look at the following two pictures and a plate from the "correct" documentation, where the comparison of these bearings is circled in red:

As you can see, the bearings are absolutely identical in terms of external dimensions, but slightly different! :)
Professional comment:"There is a bearing with the designation according to GOST 7509 (roller inclination angle 16 *) and there is 127509 (roller inclination angle greater than 20 *). Both bearings have identical "external geometry", i.e. inner diameter, outer, width assembly, but ! due to the fact that the rollers have a larger angle of inclination, the width of the outer and inner rings changes. I showed this in the table. So, further, 7509 has an imported analogue of 32209, while 127509 does not."

What do we get in practice from all of the above? Now I'll show you :)
An imported bearing will fit inside without problems, but what about an outside one? The picture should look like this:

And it looks like this (does not climb!):

The front axle hub bearings on the UAZ Patriot are replaced with increased noise, when the wheel rotates, and when it is impossible to achieve the required clearance in the bearings. Part UAZ vehicles The Patriot is equipped with an anti-lock braking system, and the wheel speed sensors are mounted on the hubs of vehicles with this system.

Causes premature wear bearing are: insufficient bearing lubrication; weak tightening of the bearing, in which shocks occur that destroy the bearings; tight tightening of bearings, with a strong tightening, strong heat bearings, grease leaks. To do the job, you will need a puller for internal circlips, a flat-bladed screwdriver, a drift, and a hammer.

We prepare the car for work. To remove the wheel hub, you will need: a key for 14, a special tubular key for 55, an impact screwdriver, a hammer, a flat screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a chisel, a mounting blade. hub front wheel can be removed with or without brake disc. Consider withdrawal without brake disc. We slow down the car parking brake, put the shoes under rear wheels and raise the front of the car from the side of the removed hub. We substitute the stand under the front axle. We remove the wheel. We are filming brake mechanism and fix it with a wire or a technological hook for the spring so as not to damage the brake hose.

With a screwdriver, we unscrew the three screws securing the protective cap of the wheel off clutch (hub) and remove the cap.

We unscrew the six bolts securing the wheel off clutch, holding it from turning with a mounting blade and remove the clutch.

With the help of a chisel and a hammer, we bend the tab of the lock washer.

We unscrew the lock nut with a special tubular wrench for 55.

We take out the locknut. Using a screwdriver, remove the lock washer.

Using an impact screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the brake disc to the wheel hub and remove the disc.

Tubular wrench 55 unscrew the hub nut.

We remove the hub assembly with bearings. If the inner races of the bearings sit very tightly on the trunnion, then remove the hub using a puller. On vehicles with ABS, wheel speed sensors are mounted on the hubs.

Remove the inner race of the outer wheel bearing.

We turn the hub over, and using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the hub, being careful not to damage the thrust washer.

Remove the thrust washer of the hub collar.

Removing the inner ring inner bearing hubs.

We wash all the details diesel fuel or kerosene. We inspect the inner and outer rings of bearings and bearing rollers. Defective bearings must be replaced. It must be replaced together with the outer races of the bearings. We replace the outer and inner bearings at the same time. ➤ Single row tapered roller bearing – 127509AK➤ Wheel hub seal - 3741-3103038

With the help of a beard light blows hammer around the perimeter of the outer ring of the inner bearing, press the ring out of the hub.

We squeeze the antennae of the inner retaining ring with pliers and remove it.

We also remove the outer retaining ring.

After that, we insert the inner ring of the outer bearing (which is to be replaced), find a suitable tube and with hammer blows or use a press to press out the outer ring of the outer bearing.

We press the outer ring of the outer bearing with a mandrel right size(You need to press in without distortion). We check the fit of the outer ring of the bearing, the ring should not turn by hand.

Install retaining rings.

After that, we press in the outer ring of the inner bearing of the hub. We check his fit.

We apply grease Litol - 24 or TsIATIM - 201. The lubricant layer in the hub between the bearings should be 10-15 mm thick. Do not put more grease in the hub to avoid getting it into the brake mechanism.

We insert the inner race of the inner bearing, generously lubricating it, and insert the thrust washer of the hub collar.

Using a suitable mandrel, we press in the hub cuff (you can use an old cuff for pressing in or carefully press it in a circle with a punch). We install the hub on the trunnion and collect everything in reverse order. After that, adjust the bearing clearance ( free play wheels).

Particular attention should be paid to the degree of tightening of the bearings! It is necessary that the wheel rotates freely, but there is no backlash. The first nut adjusts the tightening, the second fixes the position. I did this: first I stretched the first nut strongly, then released it to a state of barely noticeable play (very small). I put on the washer, locked it, and tightened the second nut very tightly. At the same time, the first nut was also slightly tightened. Therefore, the backlash disappeared, and the wheel did not lose free rotation. If overtightened, the bearing will overheat and die. Be careful with this adjustment!

The main criteria for replacing bearings on wheel hubs will be increased noise, whistling, significant wheel play. Wheel play will also be accompanied by the inability to adjust the preload in the bearing on the hub.
If your UAZ Patriot has similar signs, then it is necessary to replace the bearing on the hub of the corresponding wheel. In this article, we will talk about replacing wheel bearings on front axle.
In total, two bearings are installed on each hub, internal and external, you can learn more about the design of the front suspension hub by looking at the figure below.

You will need: a puller for internal circlips, a flat-blade screwdriver, a punch, a hammer.

The process of replacing the front wheel hub bearings UAZ Patriot

1. Remove the hub assembly with bearings (see "Removing and installing the UAZ Patriot front wheel hub").

UAZ Patriot also available with kit anti-lock braking system brakes, in this case, the master rings of the wheel speed sensors are installed on the hubs of the vehicles.

2. Take out an internal ring of the external bearing of a nave.

3. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the hub ... The oil seal is disposable and during subsequent assembly it will be necessary to install a new oil seal.

4. ... thrust washer of the hub gland ...

5. ... and remove the inner ring of the inner bearing of the hub.

6. Wash all parts with kerosene. When replacing bearings, pay attention to the wear of the parts mating with the bearings. Risks, grooves, potholes are not allowed on mating surfaces. When replacing bearings, it is necessary to change the inner and outer bearing at the same time, pos 4 and 13. (figure above)

7. With the help of a beard, with light blows of a hammer around the perimeter of the outer ring of the inner bearing, press the ring out of the hub ...

8. ... and remove it.

9. Squeeze the antennae of the inner retaining ring with a puller and remove it. 10. Remove the outer circlip in the same way...

11. ... and press out the outer race of the outer bearing. 12. Press new bearing rings into the hub with a mandrel of suitable diameter.

Insufficient pressing or misalignment of the outer ring is not allowed. Check the tightness of the rings in the hub housing. Rings should not rotate by hand.

13. Fill the inner cavity of the hub with grease, apply grease to the outer races of the bearings.
14. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Adjust wheel bearings as follows. Loosen one or two faces of the wheel bearing adjusting nut. Turning the wheel by hand, check the ease of its rotation and tighten the hub bearing adjustment nut to a torque of 30–40 N m (3–4 kgf m).
