The auto show, which was held for the first time in international status, was visited by 68 thousand people, and the number of cars in Switzerland after that increased from 33 to 39 thousand units. In 1926, the Palais des Expositions exhibition complex was built to host a car show.
In 1934 Geneva international car show became one of the main events of its kind in the world and by 1939 already two hundred companies participated in the exhibition. All expositions did not fit in the exhibition complex, so some of them were placed in temporary halls. The first car dealership after the Second World War opened its doors in 1947, but despite the difficult times, it turned out to be successful again - 305 exhibits were placed on an area of 9602 sq. m. This was followed by years of steady growth in the popularity of the event: in 1948, the exhibition gathered 200 thousand visitors, in 1960 - 300 thousand visitors, and in 1967 - over half a million spectators.
In 1981, one of the largest and most modern exhibition complexes in Europe at that time, the Geneva Palexpo, was built near the airport. The first event at the new fairgrounds was the International Commercial Vehicles Show in January 1982, followed by the International Motor Show in March.
In 2000, the Geneva Motor Show for the first time in history was visited by over 700,000 people, and absolute record- 747,700 visitors, was installed in 2005. This long-awaited Japanese novelty from Mitsubishi, complementing the range of compact SUVs. The main novelty of Citroen was the 4.57-meter crossover DS7 Crossback, the main competitors for which will be: BMW X1, Infiniti QX 50 and Lexus NX. But even against their background, the new DS7 looks quite representative!
Of the main advantages of the novelty, the following can be noted: a range of about 60 km on batteries, recharged by a 300-horsepower hybrid, all 4 wheels are leading, adaptive suspension, scanning the roadway with cameras, as well as a night vision system and LED headlights.
The interior is trimmed with natural leather and fabric (Alcantara), with branded color trim, the 12-inch multimedia system screen is located in the center of the dashboard, directly above it is a retractable chronograph, below is the original joystick of the 8-speed automatic.
Market entry is scheduled only in 2019, and before that, the novelty can only be bought in front-wheel drive.
Model RAPID FL
The Rapid update was somewhat more cosmetic than that of the same Octavia (even the engine and transmission lines remained the same). The headlight units are optionally equipped with bi-xenon units with diodes, and the rear lights received tinted diffusers and all the same diode strips.
The interior as a whole has undergone more restyling: the instrument panel, the air conditioning unit and the guides on the air ducts, as well as new door linings. In Russia, the new Skoda is expected closer to summer and the cost will be higher, including due to the state emergency information system ERA-GLONASS (similar to the European eCall, technologically compatible), mandatory for the Russian version.

This crossover is less bulky and more affordable than its older brother XC90, but something vaguely reminiscent of the first generation BMW X5 (especially the look of the taillights). What the XC60 cannot be denied is the overall harmony of the exterior and interior: the smooth lines of the body and the richness of the interior trim - everything is in its place. But the main thing, as always, is inside. The Swedish fad on safety is fully reflected here - the automatic steering system has significantly improved the City Safety automatic braking system and BLIS blind spot monitoring. The lack of a spare wheel is somewhat unusual, in the configuration for the European market, but we will think that it will still be in the Russian edition. As part of the logic of a gradual transition to autonomy, the XC60 now has: Pilot Assist, a semi-autonomous driving system that allows acceleration, deceleration and even steering on good roads with clear markings, when driving no faster than 130 km / h, as well as an exit prevention system
on the opposite side. A full-fledged Swedish autopilot is expected only by 2021. The Swedes have not forgotten about comfort either, three-zone climate control and a spacious trunk will appeal to travel enthusiasts.
I was pleased with a wider engine range: in addition to the top 407 hp. The “hybrid” T8 Twin Engine, which accelerates the XC60 to 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds, received 2 diesel engines with 190 hp. D4 and 235 hp D5 (PowerPulse), as well as a couple of gasoline units - 254 hp. T5 and turbocharged 320 hp T6. In the Russian Federation, the XC60 will be available approximately at the beginning of 2018.
