Who should yield in mutual rebuilding. Who is inferior in the simultaneous rebuilding? Exit to the road from the adjacent territory

17.07.2019

Good afternoon, dear motorists!

In this article we will consider the issue of priority when narrowing the road. At proper organization traffic the narrowing of the road is indicated by appropriate signs and markings, however, in practice, it is not uncommon for drivers to get into the “neck”, in the absence of traffic management tools.

For example, take the narrowing of the road at the turn

Cars moving in two rows in passing direction forced to divide the remaining lane among themselves. There are only two options, or inferior white car, or blue.

Basically, for this situation, drivers apply one of two points of the Rules of the road.

Someone considers this a rebuild:

8.4. When rebuilding, the driver must give way to vehicles moving along the same way without changing direction. At simultaneous rebuilding Vehicle passing, the driver must give way to the vehicle on the right.

For others, this situation is not regulated by the rules and they apply clause 8.9 of the SDA:

8.9. In cases where the trajectory of the movement of vehicles intersects, and the order of passage is not specified by the Rules, the driver must give way to whom the vehicle is approaching from the right.

Arguments for receiving from a white car: “I am moving in the left lane, there are no obstacles in this lane, I am not maneuvering, I am not changing lane, the blue car is being rebuilt in left lane.

Arguments for taking advantage of blue car: “Narrowing of the road, two lanes end, only one remains and both cars simultaneously change lanes into this remaining lane” or “In this case the order of passage is not stipulated by the rules, and the one who has the interference on the right concedes.

It turns out that both cars have the right to count on an advantage, but this cannot be. So let's take a closer look at this traffic situation. First, for convenience, we will “straighten” the road, since the bend itself has no direct relation to the number of lanes on the road. Driving along a bend in the road from the point of view of the Rules of the Road is straight. All direction changes are made. The very fact of narrowing is important, but narrowing occurs along the radius or does not matter in a straight line.

In the absence of markings or road signs, the number of lanes is determined in accordance with clause 9.1 of the SDA

9.1. The number of lanes for trackless vehicles is determined by markings and (or) signs 5.15.1, 5.15.2, 5.15.7, 5.15.8, and if there are none, then by the drivers themselves, taking into account the width of the carriageway, the dimensions of vehicles and the necessary intervals between them. At the same time, the side intended for oncoming traffic on two-way roads without a dividing lane is considered to be half the width of the carriageway, located on the left, not counting local widenings of the carriageway (crossing and speed lanes, additional lanes for climbing, pockets of stopping places for route vehicles) .

At this point, we see that the Rules of the Road define the line of the middle of the carriageway.

The next step is to determine the number of lanes.

"Lane" - any of the longitudinal lanes of the carriageway, marked or not marked with markings and having a width sufficient for the movement of cars in one line.

It follows from the definition that the lines of all lanes are located along the direction of the carriageway. In our case, the edges of the carriageway narrow, so you should start from the guide line, which is the axis of symmetry of the carriageway, otherwise there will be a contradiction with the definition of the lane and the lanes will not be longitudinal.

It is worth noting that the so-called reading of the stripes from the center line is not a rule. The rules do not keep an ordinal count of the number of lanes (the “second lane” is mentioned once in the rules for driving on a motorway). We need the center line to determine the direction of the carriageway and to build longitudinal lanes. The edges of the carriageway can change and locally change direction, while the direction of the carriageway does not change.

The center line always remains a guide line relative to the direction of the carriageway, even if the center is determined taking into account local widenings, it will be offset, but the direction of the carriageway will be determined correctly. Similarly, the direction of the carriageway should be determined on a one-way road.

In this image, you can see that the white car is moving without changing lanes, and an obstacle is formed on the blue lane in the form of a narrowing of the roadway. Once again, I want to draw attention to the fact of the narrowing of the carriageway and the definition of its middle in accordance with the Rules of the Road. The opinion that the lanes should be counted from the edge of the carriageway is erroneous. For clarity, let's shorten the taper interval.

At the very beginning, we mentioned that the narrowing of the road should be indicated by signs, but if there are none, it should be understood that the carriageway is narrowing, it narrows, respectively, not from the middle, but from the extreme borders, and the obstacle appears exactly on the lane closest to the border of the carriageway.

Thus, the white car has the advantage.

For clarity, see another perspective view:

Neither the direction of the road, nor the direction of the carriageway, nor the direction of movement is changed, however, to continue moving the car from the right lane to forward direction needs to be rebuilt.

Experienced drivers do not even think, rebuilding from row to row. They perform maneuvers automatically. But many of them violate the rules of the road and one of these lane changes can best case end with a fine, at worst -.

To avoid unpleasant consequences, the maneuver must be performed according to the rules, which you will learn about later.

Definition

Rebuilding is a maneuver that involves leaving the occupied lane or lane while maintaining the original direction of movement.

If to speak in simple words, a lane change is a lane change performed to overtake, turn or otherwise maneuver.

In this case, the maneuver must be carried out taking into account road markings, which becomes problematic in bad weather conditions.

Yes, on snow covered road it is impossible to see the markings, which leads to violations and doubts about the correct execution of the maneuver.

The main road marking that establishes a ban on rebuilding is a solid line. On the stripes passing traffic it is rare, mainly in tunnels and on the bridge. But still, you should pay attention to the solid lines so as not to lose your rights for several months.

Where is prohibited and where is not

Most of the small accidents occur due to improper rebuilding of the vehicle. Drivers do not maneuver incorrectly, allowing a collision with another car.

To reduce the number of accidents on the roads, the traffic rules included rules for rebuilding in different situations so that drivers can safely change lanes.

At the crossroads

One of FAQ among drivers - whether it is allowed to change lanes at intersections. Most of the bans apply specifically to this section of the road, since there is a very high risk of collision with cars moving in a parallel direction.

The SDA does not prohibit rebuilding at the entrance to the intersection. Moreover, this section of the road is considered to be omnidirectional, so such concepts as main and secondary roads are excluded, except for those sections where signs are installed.

Of course, it is better to think about rebuilding in advance, having determined the lane for yourself. If this is not done, then you can rebuild already at the intersection.

At the same time, it is important not to forget that the cars on the right are always a priority. Therefore, first of all, you need to skip them, and then maneuver.

But when rebuilding, it must be borne in mind that, according to paragraph 11.4 of the SDA, overtaking is prohibited at intersections. And it is quite difficult to do without it after the restructuring.

Therefore, the only right decision will be early maneuvering to the desired lane:

At the pedestrian crossing

As in the situation with the intersection, the ban on maneuvering at pedestrian crossing, No. But it is not allowed to overtake all according to the same rule No. 11.4.

However, the issue of rebuilding at a pedestrian crossing should be considered from a logical point of view. The crossing is quite narrow, so with all his desire, the driver will not be able to complete the maneuver without stopping the vehicle on the zebra.

Therefore, in order to avoid unnecessary questions from the traffic police inspectors, it is worth maneuvering behind the transition.

On Bridge

Another one typical problem drivers - is it possible to change lanes on the bridge. Turning again to specified paragraph SDA, you can understand that overtaking is prohibited on the bridge. But there is not a word about restructuring.

However, it is allowed to rebuild only if there is no marking prohibiting this maneuver.

On the ring

The same rule applies to the ring. If there is no solid line, then you can change lanes, always passing cars that are moving along the lane where the driver plans to change lanes.

You need to do this maneuver before leaving the ring so that you do not have to stand in the right lane in order to turn left.

in the tunnel

When driving in the tunnels you can see road markings. A solid line indicates that it is forbidden to change lanes. This rule is connected with the difference in temperature regimes.

So when on the street subzero temperature, at the entrance to the tunnel it rises sharply, which worsens the adhesion of the wheels to the road.

The situation is similar in the summer version. And this creates a high risk of collision with a car that is moving in the same direction.

Otherwise, you will have to pay a fine. But it is even worse that such a maneuver threatens serious accident, since the speed of cars on such a section of the road is usually above average and get off small scratches on the body will not work.

Rebuild Rules

In order to properly rebuild without violating traffic rules, several rules should be considered:

  1. When planning to rebuild, you need to make sure that there is no solid line that prohibits this maneuver.
  2. Before starting the rebuilding, the turn signal must be turned on. Drivers need to know which way the car is heading.
  3. When rebuilding, you need to let pass all the cars that are moving along their lane without maneuvering.
  4. If several cars are rebuilt at once, then only those who drive on the right need to pass.
  5. The vehicle speed is reduced and the distance to the vehicle is calculated to avoid a collision.
  6. Be sure to take into account the speed of the car that moves along the adjacent lane in order to get on the other side and prevent a collision with a car that will be behind.

Cannot be applied emergency braking if cars are moving behind. The speed decreases smoothly, and then you can rebuild. It is important to think about the maneuver in advance, starting the rebuilding in advance.

Drivers of other vehicles are notified of the planned maneuver by turning on the turn signals.

Who should give way to whom on the lanes on the track

The driver of the car who plans to rebuild must yield. He first passes all the cars and only then rebuilds. It is important to choose a safe trajectory of movement in order to avoid a collision.

When changing lanes, you need to look in the mirrors so that other drivers do not have to apply emergency braking when maneuvering.

To the left lane

Changing to the left lane is carried out according to general rules. First, the driver must pass all the cars that are moving along the left lane by turning on the turn signal beforehand. And only after the lane is safe for maneuver, you can rebuild.

Many believe that the one who is on the secondary road. In fact, the type of stripe does not matter. Who plans to rebuild, he misses other cars. If you miss, then please - you can safely change the lane.

When the road narrows

The fact that the road will narrow, drivers will learn thanks to the signs. This means that you need to change lanes in advance so that you do not have to apply emergency braking at the last moment.

The picture shows that the lane along which the red car is moving is narrowing. blue car continues to move into given direction. In this situation, it is the red car that must give way, since it needs to change lanes.

between rows

It is necessary to rebuild between the rows according to the general rules. On a multi-lane road, there is another requirement - a gradual rebuilding.

For example, a car is driving in the rightmost lane on a three-lane road. And he needs to go to the far left lane. In this case, you cannot cross two lanes at once.

First, the car is rebuilt to the middle lane, and then to the outer one. With every maneuver, traffic safety is ensured.

When maneuvering to each lane, you should not sharply reduce speed or, conversely, put pressure on the gas. In terms of speed, you need to catch up with cars that move along the same lane.

Driving in lanes in the city with the subsequent rebuilding is the most dangerous. IN dense stream maneuvering is quite difficult, so many drivers make fatal mistakes.

For example, when changing lanes from the extreme right lane to the middle of the road, the car is allowed to pass. Hoping that they will let him through in the far left lane, the driver boldly rebuilds from two lanes at once. But you can't do that.

First, the car is leveled in the middle lane, then the turn signal turns on again, and only after a safe distance between the cars appears, you can change lanes.

public transport

Public transport is being rebuilt according to general rules. For him, there is no special priority in movement, in contrast to special vehicles with flashing beacons turned on.

If public transport moves along the lane allocated for it, then occupying it is destroyed ordinary cars to turn left. The strip in this case is necessary for safe rebuilding.

But it should be borne in mind that as soon as the car has taken the allocated lane, it must leave it without interfering with public transport.

Before traffic lights

Moving in a given direction, many drivers decide to change lanes before the traffic lights. This happens, for example, when the outer lane is already occupied, and the green signal is on at the traffic light.

If you need to rebuild before a traffic light, then you need to act according to the general rules and take into account several features of maneuvering:

  • it is forbidden to change lanes without a turn signal, even if there are no cars in passing traffic;
  • you need to stop in front of the traffic light if the outer rows also do not move (pedestrians can cross the road);
  • needs to be adjusted to average speed, without slowing down, but it is impossible to exceed the set mode.

Mutual

One of the most difficult maneuvers is the mutual formation. It means that the car from the right lane plans to move to the left lane, and the car from the left lane plans to move to the right.

The situation is common, but many drivers do not know the rules for maneuvering in this case and allow a collision.

When changing lanes at the same time, both cars must have turn signals on - this is the main requirement. Thanks to the signals, drivers see the scheme further movement vehicle from the adjacent lane.

According to clause 8.4 of the SDA, the car that makes the maneuver must yield when changing lanes.

If two cars from different lanes are rebuilt at the same time, then the car on the right has priority. She must pass first, the car from the left lane must pass.

But in practice, it can be very difficult to change lanes, because it is not always possible to understand the intentions of the other driver if the cars are moving in heavy traffic. In this situation, it is important to ensure the safety of maneuvering.

To do this, you need to slightly get ahead of the car from the adjacent road and slowly start moving to the left.

At the same time, the behavior of cars moving along the adjacent territory is necessarily controlled. Only after the driver from the left lane begins to pass, you can change lanes.

It is important not only to remember your rights, but also to respect other road users. In a collision between two vehicles, the truth will be on the driver's side from the right lane.

He will receive compensation for and restore the car free of charge. But is it worth demanding to follow the rules of the road at the cost of your life?

It is necessary to change lanes from the left lane to the right lane while simultaneously maneuvering as carefully as possible. To begin with, we pass the car on the right, slowing down.

After completing the maneuver, you can rebuild yourself, after making sure that this maneuver is safe.

With interference on the right

An obstacle on the right is a vehicle that is moving with right side. There is an opinion among drivers that in any case, you need to give in to this very hindrance.

But when it comes to rebuilding, this rule is necessarily taken into account, but with some reservations:

  1. The driver is driving on the right side and plans to move to the left lane. In this case, there is no obstacle, you need to give way to the driver on the left and only after that change lanes.
  2. The driver is driving on the left side and plans to turn into the right lane. Here he has an obstacle on the right and he really should let the cars from the adjacent lane pass.
  3. The driver moves on the right side, plans to take the left lane, and the driver from the left lane plans to take the right. Again, there is no interference here, but the car on the right side has priority.
  4. The driver is moving on the left side, the driver on the right is planning to change lanes. And this is where the rule comes into play. You need to skip the obstacle on the right, and then rebuild yourself.

Which of the drivers must give way with the simultaneous (mutual) rebuilding of cars? The nuances of traffic rules and the "interference on the right" rule.

All drivers participating in the maneuver are responsible for the safety of mutual rebuilding. If a collision occurs, the one who has priority, that is, the owner of the car on the right, is recognized as innocent. According to the approved traffic rules, he has an advantage in the queue when changing lanes, but not all drivers know and apply this rule in practice.

What is "interference on the right"?

In the rules of the road, the term "obstacle on the right" is not mentioned and does not have a clear definition. Many of the participants in the movement interpret it in their own way, and not always correctly. In fact, the obstacle on the right is a car that is moving on the right side. The vehicle has advantages, but priority does not always work.

The rule "interference on the right" does not work on regulated intersections and in places where the order of movement is provided by the established road signs. In other cases, including mutual rebuilding, the order is governed by the right hand interference rule.

Mutual rebuilding. Who is inferior?

The procedure for the simultaneous rebuilding of vehicles is prescribed in clause 8.4 of the SDA. With a passing movement and a mutual desire to change lanes, the car on the right passes first. The one who gives way must give the driver the opportunity to complete the maneuver and not interfere.

In order not to violate traffic rules and avoid a collision, we advise:

Always turn on your turn signals. This should be done by all participants in the mutual restructuring. Thanks to warning signals, passing drivers learn about intentions to change lanes and build a safe movement scheme.

Choose the best speed mode taking into account the speed of vehicles moving in the adjacent lane.

Look in mirrors. This will help to realistically assess the situation on the road.

Having the benefits of rebuilding, do not rush. For your own safety, make sure that the driver of a passing vehicle gives way to you.

Due to the frequent occurrence of dangerous and controversial situations, simultaneous rebuilding is classified as complex maneuvers. Experienced drivers are free to change lanes, doing it automatically. It is more difficult for beginners, since the skill to correctly and quickly assess the traffic situation and make decisions is not developed immediately.

Regardless of driving experience, on the roads it is important not only to remember your rights and priorities. Be careful, respect other road users and avoid accidents.

At mutual rearrangement driver passenger car must give way to the motorcycle driver on his right.

Moving along the left lane, you intend to change lanes to the right. Which of the diagrams shows a situation in which you must give way?

When you change lanes from the left lane to the right lane, you must give way to the driver of a car moving in the adjacent right lane, both when he is moving without changing direction, and when he is changing lanes at the same time as you. Thus, you must give way in the situations depicted in both figures.

Who is required to give way?

The sign "End of lane" informs about the end of the lane. Consequently, the driver of a passenger car will have to change lanes to the left lane, and when changing lanes, he will have to give way to a truck moving in the same direction without changing lanes.

When driving in the right lane, are you obliged to give way to the driver of a car who intends to change lanes to your lane?

You are moving without changing direction and are therefore not required to yield to a driver who wants to move into your lane.

When driving in the left lane, are you obliged to give way to the driver of a car who intends to change lanes to your lane?

Since there is a narrowing of the road ahead, which is warned by the sign "Narrowing of the road", the driver truck you will have to change lanes to the next lane, and when changing lanes, he must give way to a passenger car moving along without changing direction.

The driver of the car performing the changeover to the right lane, in this situation:

The driver of a car performing a lane change, including the final overtaking, must not interfere with a car moving along the same way without changing direction.

When changing lanes to the right lane in this situation, you:

You need to move to the right lane, while giving way to all vehicles moving along it.

In this situation, in order to continue driving in the forward direction, you are allowed to:

To continue the movement, you have the right to perform any of the listed actions. It should be borne in mind that when changing lanes to the right lane, it is necessary to give way to all vehicles moving along the way.

Moving along the right lane, you intend to change lanes to the left. Which of the diagrams shows a situation in which you must give way?

When rebuilding from the right lane to the left lane, you must give way to a passenger car moving along the same way without changing the direction of movement in the left lane. With simultaneous rebuilding, the advantage remains with you. Therefore, you must give way in the situation depicted in the left figure.

Who must give way in a mutual lane change?

When changing lanes, the driver of a truck must give way to the driver of a car to the right of him.

Lane change is the process of changing lanes, which occurs while vehicles are moving on the road. Drivers often use this maneuver, because it is indispensable when it is necessary to overtake, pass or detour. The same goes for twists and turns. Many are interested in the question of who should give way when rebuilding. Before answering it, it does not hurt to consider the main points of the maneuver.

How to act correctly on the road?

If you need to change lanes, you first need to pick up the speed at which cars are moving in the lane you want to move to. It is important to remember to turn on the appropriate turn signal, so you warn other road users about the planned maneuver on the canvas. You should always look in the side and rear view mirrors in order to correctly assess the situation. Moving to the adjacent lane should be done only when complete confidence in the safety of this action. Upon completion, you can turn off the turn signals and move on.

The rules of the road clearly state that anyone who wants to change lanes must give way to cars moving along the same road without changing direction. If you see that the car on the right is also starting to change lanes, you must give way to it. In simple terms, the advantage is always on the side of the one on the right, meaning cases when mutual movement occurs.

Attention! Theoretically, everything is simple and clear, but practice shows that most of the traffic accidents occur during a lane change. The reason for this is increased density car flow.

Drivers with great experience driving manages to navigate without problems even under acute angle on a section with a length of 50-60 m. At the same time, he manages to adjust to the speed of the neighboring stream. This ensures the safety of movement.

If we talk about novice drivers, they, wanting to move to another lane, choose the deceleration method. It seems to them that it will be much easier and safer to wait until a gap appears on the neighboring part of the road, and then, slowing down the speed of their car, take free place. However, in practice, everything happens quite differently. As soon as it stops at a reduced speed, a sound is heard, characteristic of the impact of vehicles. From this it should be concluded that it is necessary to occupy the left lane only after reaching the speed of the neighboring stream. This approach allows you to easily fit into the gap on the road, even if it is small.

Attention! If we are talking about a forced lane change, for example, due to an obstacle ahead, the driver must stop, turn on the turn signal and wait until one of the drivers passing nearby will let you pass.

We behave correctly in a dense stream of traffic

If you find yourself in a traffic jam, you should remember that slightly different rebuilding rules apply here, they are based on human psychology. In a situation where the driver wants to pass only at his own discretion, no one guarantees that other cars will let him through. But if you ask about it by turning on the turn light, then the likelihood that you will be missed increases.

You can look at the driver behind the car and make sure he agrees. If he nods in response, slows down the movement of his car or stops altogether, you can safely take a place diagonally, this should be done decisively, but without jerking. A gross mistake is to enter the "dead zone". This is the name of the field of view, which is inaccessible to the driver of the car. This greatly increases the accident rate.

As for driving around the ring, in this case the same rules apply as on a straight road. A common mistake drivers make is leaving the roundabout from the left lane. According to the rules of the road, turning is allowed only from the far right lane. You must rebuild on it in advance, and not just before the departure. Your actions must be understandable to other road users, as well as predictable. To provide safe conditions, you must first turn on the turn signal on the side in which you are going to move.

Important! I would like to focus on the fact that the free section of the road that you plan to occupy should accommodate two of your cars. To understand if there is enough space for rebuilding, you need to look at Side mirror, it should be visible to the car moving behind completely with the roof and wheels touching the canvas.

What do the rules of the road say?

Continuing the topic of who should give way during mutual rebuilding, I would like to note the following details.

  1. If you are moving in your lane, but the driver on the side wants to move, you do not have to give way to him, regardless of which side of you he is. You can skip it if you wish.
  2. If you want to rebuild, you will have to wait until the cars run out on the other part of the road and a gap appears. The rule "interference on the right" does not apply in this case.
  3. Who must give way when changing lanes at the same time? It all depends on which lane you are in. According to the rules, they yield to the one on the right. But you should not rush, you need to be sure that they really give way to you.

If you are driving on the left and want to move to the right lane, then your car gives way, because in similar situation the rule of interference on the right applies.
