The question of how to rebuild correctly, upon closer examination, is not so simple. Not many of us, making daily trips "home - work - shop - cafe - home" at the end of the day will remember how many times we had to reorganize. And meanwhile, it is this, ordinary, at first glance, maneuver that is the most dangerous and emergency.

Suppose you are driving in the right lane, at the next intersection you need to turn left. Need to readjust. Cars are coming up behind. There is some uncertainty. How to "catch" the moment and rebuild correctly?

Let's take a closer look at restructuring. This maneuver involves changing the lane of the car. The first rule of proper rebuilding is to turn on the turn signal. This simple action will indicate your intent and further actions will not be unexpected for the "neighbors" on the roadway.

Often, it happens like this: after looking into the right (left) mirror and picking up speed, we rebuild, as it seems to us, correctly. And all attention goes to the "mirror". And the cars ahead began to slow down. IN best case we have time to slow down, at worst, we straighten and tune the one in front. Often such accidents occur due to improper rebuilding at highway exits. We are waiting for an interval in order to rebuild from the exit pocket (for example) to the Moscow Ring Road. In this case, the first rule of correct rebuilding is to look ahead first and start moving only after the one in front. The rule of precedence is, in principle, very important. Always wait for the end of the rebuilding of the one in front, otherwise, in the hope that his “stern” is about to clear the way for you, press the gas, reducing the distance to a minimum, and most often getting into an accident. With any maneuver, I advise you to keep " all-round view"- to be aware and see everything that is around you. It is difficult at first glance - but it will work out over time. The main thing is to start training.

How many times do you have to watch how beginners are rebuilt. For them, getting into the right lane is the most difficult test in the city hustle and bustle. Didn't you notice yourself? Surely remember how you slow down, trying to find a "window" to squeeze into the next row, causing a chorus of klaxons.

It's easy to avoid this. This painfully obvious advice is even somewhat inconvenient to give. However, we dare: in order to safely change lanes, instead of the usual braking, you need to pick up the speed of the stream into which you are going to merge. The most safe speed is the flow rate. And it is correct to rebuild and maneuver so that as a result of your actions, other drivers should not slow down or change the direction of their movement.

In general, rebuilding is considered to be leaving the occupied lane or row while maintaining the original direction of movement. Let me remind you that when moving in a straight line in your lane, without rebuilding anywhere, you have an advantage over traffic participants who intend to rebuild in your lane. However, the culture of driving, although we have a rather vague concept, says to give way to another driver, especially if he “asked” for this by turning on the turn signal. The basic rule of driving is that if you have the ability to prevent an accident, you must take advantage of that opportunity. At simultaneous rebuilding, i.e. if you want to change lanes to the left, and a car moving to your left wants to change lanes, then the rule of interference on the right works here, i.e. he/she should let you through.

If the traffic situation permits, change lanes as smoothly as you can. To do this, you must keep an appropriate distance. By such a restructuring you will not create dangerous situation for the “ace driver” riding behind, who did not keep his distance. He will have time to maneuver or brake.
In addition, a smooth transition is more comfortable for passengers and better for the car. In the latter case, there is less load on the wheels and racks. This is especially important with numerous rebuildings, because. the car shakes less.

There is one more dangerous moment- "dead zone" mirrors. It is always better to turn your head in the direction of the turn, at least for a moment. Very important advice on the way to the correct rebuilding - as much as possible to view the lane ahead. I know at least two people who, delighted with the free lane, carefully rebuilt at speed and suddenly found standing truck in their lane and did not have time to slow down.
If you need to change lanes, and there are cars in front of you in your lane, do not rush to get close to them, leave yourself room for acceleration so that the rebuilding succeeds. Do not be afraid to wedge into dense traffic. We turn on the turn signal. The first car did not miss, we taxi a little closer and so on. Most often they miss (I personally miss when the other driver shows the turn signal in advance, if not, I will try not to give in). You can just show the turn signal and wait, but as practice shows, this is practically useless.

So let's summarize and remember the most important thing:

  • When changing lanes, give way to those who are already moving in the lane in which you intend to change lanes.
  • Before rebuilding, turn on the turn signal.
  • We do not approach close to the one in front.
  • Before rebuilding, we carefully look in the mirrors and “monitor” the “dead zone”.
  • At mutual rearrangement we pass the interference on the right.
  • With mutual rebuilding from the same row, we wait until the one in front passes (the Rules do not stipulate this .. then whoever got up first gets slippers. But practice shows that such caution will save you from unpleasant situations).

And remember, an accident is dealt with according to traffic rules. Your maneuver should not create difficulties for other road users.

Drivers who violate the rules when changing lanes do not always clearly understand how dangerous their actions can be. In many cases, the responsibility for misconduct will be more serious than the time gained. The amount of fines is determined depending on which rules were violated.

We talked in detail about what fine or other punishment is provided for incorrect maneuvering and what, according to traffic rules, is considered a violation.

Markup violation

A motorist who violates the marking requirements on the roadway will be liable before the law in accordance with Part 1 of Art. 12.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. If the requirements are not met, a fine of 500 rubles is imputed (read about what threatens for crossing a solid marking line).

If you didn't give way

A driver who has not given way to other vehicles that have the right to pass first will be punished under Article 12.14, part 3.

Remember: if you do not give way, you are charged with a fine of 500 rubles, in some cases, traffic police officers are limited to a warning.

What does the traffic law say?

Clause 8 of the SDA contains provisions establishing the procedure for traffic in lanes, expressed in rebuilding(read about how much the fine is for turning out of your lane and whether there are ways to avoid punishment). Drivers should give way to vehicles moving in the same direction without changing direction. When rebuilding several vehicles at the same time, give way to those who drive on the right.

To determine the priority, paragraph 8.4 of the SDA is used. Clause 8.1 establishes the procedure for filing light signal when performing a vehicle rebuild. Before performing the maneuver, you must turn on the turn signal, then give way to cars that are driving without changing movement. After that, you can proceed to the maneuver, if there are no obstacles for this.

It is necessary to adhere to the rules for driving in the lanes, for which signs of special requirements are installed. They can be applied both to the entire section of the road, and only to a certain lane. Signs can restrict traffic in part of the territory or regulate the number of lanes, the speed of driving on them.

Analysis of disputable situations

Some drivers may get confused by the signs. For example, at an intersection where Roundabout Circulation- many drivers with little experience get confused at such intersections. It is worth remembering that you can change lanes when moving in a circle at any time, but you need to leave only from the extreme right lane, if there are no special signs to set the driving mode. As a result of the confusion of the driver, the rules are violated.

But in many cases there is an opportunity to defend their rights in court. To do this, when drawing up the protocol, pay attention to its content, be sure to indicate if you do not agree with the information in it. During the trial, this will be useful if you need to appeal the verdict.

It is not uncommon for a controversial situation when the requirements of lanes on the roads and signs differ. According to the traffic rules, in such cases it is necessary to act in accordance with the requirements of the signs. What if the sign provides for movement in two lanes, and the width of the roadway allows movement in three?

The rules do not forbid in such cases to pass the road in three lanes, but before passing the intersection, the transport should be rebuilt so that there are two lanes.

Such a movement is not a violation, but a traffic police officer may try to draw up a protocol on violation of lane movements.

In court, however, you can try to defend your innocence, especially if, when drawing up the protocol, you indicated your disagreement.

If the dividing lanes at the time when your car was moving on the roads were covered with snow or mud, turned out to be hardly distinguishable, when considering a case in court, you can confidently state that weather prevented you from moving according to the rules.

How can the DPS prove your guilt?

Traffic police officers, while monitoring the order on the roads, can mark any inattentive driver as a violator and draw up a protocol on his misconduct.

Not all motorists agree that they have committed an offense. Therefore, there is a procedure in court that allows you to appeal his decision. In many cases, the outcome of the case depends on how the driver prepared for the dispute, and on the evidence provided by traffic police officers.

  1. To confirm the guilt of the offender, photographs or video materials may be provided, on which we can clearly distinguish the car, license plates, and other trifles important for identification.

    Materials should be filmed at the place where the offense was committed, ideally if the incident itself or the events preceding it will be recorded.

  2. Also, traffic police officers, when drawing up a protocol, can enlist the testimony of witnesses. or invite witnesses to fix the data. But whether such evidence will be taken into account is up to the judges.

Conclusion

Rules of the road were developed to reduce the danger of driving on the roads. When following them, the driver improves the situation on the roads, has more chances to save his own life and health, and ensure the same for other road users. Any practicing driver should regularly update their knowledge, keep track of changes in the rules.

Salute, friends! When figuring out who should give way to whom on the road, sometimes it comes to hand-to-hand combat.

Just the other day I saw such an “oil painting”, while the drivers threw the cars in the middle of the road, and other road users had to separate them. Trouble!

And therefore, I propose to urgently figure out how to properly change lanes according to traffic rules.

Let's refresh the materiel

To begin with, let's recall paragraphs 8 and 9 of the SDA, which deal with the start of movement, maneuvering and the location of the vehicle on the road. What moments are of particular interest to us?

  • Are you starting a rebuild? Give way to all passengers.
  • Is another driver starting to change lanes with you? If he's on the right, give way to him. But if you are on his right, then he should show courtesy.
  • If someone maneuvers close to you at a dangerous distance, they only get priority if they are approaching from the right. For example, you are driving in the right lane, which ends and you have to change lanes to the left, and a passing truck is driving along it, which does not change traffic. Before the maneuver, you must give way to him, and only after that change lanes to the left.

And here is the universal rule - when changing lanes, give way to everyone, remembering that everyone who drives straight and does not change lanes gets priority.

Rule "interference on the right"

For some reason, many drivers believe that in difficult situations when they don't know what rules to follow, the "noise from the right" rule should be applied.

And it seems like you'll always be right!

Strictly speaking, there is no “interference from the right” rule in the traffic rules at all. It was introduced at the household level for ease of getting out of difficult traffic situations.

  • with simultaneous restructuring;
  • in sections where the sequence is not specified by other rules (for example, at an unregulated intersection).

Simultaneous rebuilding

The correct simultaneous rebuilding and the application of the mentioned rule of "interference on the right" are discussed in clause 8.4.

But if all situations on the roads were reduced to one sentence - with the simultaneous rebuilding, the one who moves on the right gets priority. I propose to look at how to act in the three most typical cases.

  • The neighbor decided to change lanes to your lane, but you are not obliged to yield, since the “interference on the right” rule in this case does not work. You do not plan to make a maneuver, but calmly drive along your lane without changing the trajectory.
  • You want to be in the left lane, but the driver on the left also decided to change lanes. Here, the rule of interference on the right is already working, and the neighbor must give way to you, no matter what maneuver he makes. True, in this case it’s not worth putting pressure on the gas, but it’s better to start rebuilding after all full confidence- the neighbor is a gentleman and learned the traffic rules well.
  • You decide to get into the right lane, but the driver is also planning a maneuver on the right. Here you should already show warmth and care and give way.

Let's analyze the specifics

Let's try to understand how to do the right thing in such a situation - you decided to change lanes to the left from the right, but the place of "landing" is still occupied.

  • Assess what is happening around, and not only on the left, but also in front and behind.
  • Turn on the left turn signal and slow down a little so that the one occupying the place on the left moves forward.
  • Make sure that no one claims to be on the “vacated island”, turn slowly to the left and fit into the lane.
  • Turn off the turn signal and check the distance to the person in front.

IN traffic rules tickets there is also such a question: Are you obliged, when driving in the right lane, to give way to something that is trying to change lanes on the left? Options: 1) yes, if the driver overtook your car; 2) yes; 3) no.

And the last answer is correct: you are driving on the right without changing direction, so you are not required to give way.

Cheat sheet for beginners

Personally, for ease of remembering, I keep the following cheat sheet in my head:

  • I'm not rebuilding - I don't owe anything to anyone.
  • If I wanted to go right, I must yield to everyone.
  • If you want to go left, those who are also planning a maneuver should let pass. But they may not miss it!

What else do novice drivers need to remember?

  • Observe speed mode. Keep the speed at which the cars are moving in the lane where you want to go.
  • Do not forget to turn on the turn signal, otherwise other drivers do not have telepathic abilities and are unlikely to guess your intentions without prompting.
  • Look in the mirrors during the rebuilding constantly, evaluating every second of what is happening on the road.
  • Change lanes only when you are absolutely sure that the maneuver is safe.
  • Finished the job - walk boldly, but do not forget to turn off the turn signal to celebrate.

Changing lanes in traffic and on the ring

On the one hand, changing lanes in a traffic jam is more difficult (everyone is annoyed and there is no room to maneuver), but on the other hand, it is easier, because you can always get visual confirmation from a neighbor who lets you pass in front of him.

If you see in the mirror the other driver's kind eyes, his good-natured smile and an encouraging nod of the head, make sure that he slows down, and decisively, but without jerking, fit diagonally into the provided clearance.

I can’t help but recall a common mistake of leaving the ring - from the bottom left-o-o-o! You can make such a maneuver only from the extreme right lane, which you must change lanes in advance on the basis of general rules.

Road wars

Unfortunately, rudeness is often found on the roads, and it can take a very long time to wait until a place is vacated.

To take risks and try to cut the impudent one by rebuilding earlier and taking free place, of course, you can, but is the game worth the candle?

If someone is "really as it should be", do not interfere! Let a person enjoy life and consider himself the most intelligent and lucky. Ambition on the road is the last thing, because it is they who often lead to tragic consequences.

Well, friends, I have everything on this topic. Tell us in the comments about your experience of rebuilding? Have you made mistakes or have disputes arisen?

Let's figure out who is right and who is wrong, together. I would be grateful if you share the article on social networks. See you soon! And good luck on the road!

There is a big risk of becoming the culprit of an accident if you do not know how to change lanes correctly. Consider tips for maneuvering in dense stream.

SDA

The regulation on rebuilding is in Chapter 8 of the SDA. Paragraph 8.4 states: a driver wishing to change lanes must give way to vehicles moving in passing direction without changing direction. In case of simultaneous rebuilding of two cars, the right of priority maneuver is given to the driver located on the right side. Consider the rule on specific examples.

  • The car in front of you shifts into your lane, you don't change direction. According to the traffic rules, you are not obliged to give in to him. You can do this by own will but you won't be the culprit.
  • You want to take a lane in which a car is moving straight behind you. In this case, you must give way to him or increase the distance so as not to interfere with his rebuilding.
  • You are changing into left lane. The car in this row shows with a turn signal that it wants to take your lane. In this case, you have an advantage.
  • You change lanes to the right. If at this moment the driver from this lane changes lanes, you must give way to him. The rule - "hindrance on the right" applies.

IN in general terms paragraph 8.4 can be expressed in the following theses:

  • if you do not want to rebuild, then you are not obliged to give in according to the traffic rules to anyone;
  • when changing lanes to the right, you must in any case give way (“obstruction on the right”);
  • when changing lanes to the left at the same time as the driver who wants to take your lane, you must be let through.

rebuilding

Steps to change direction:

  • assessment of the road situation;
  • turning on the turn signal;
  • control look in the rear-view mirror;
  • rebuilding, turning off the turn signal.

Many drivers believe that it is dangerous to change lanes only in heavy traffic. The error lies in the fact that excessive relaxation when driving on unloaded roads dulls concentration. There is an increased risk of not noticing a motorcycle coming behind or leaving a car unattended in dead zone. Therefore, rebuilding in any situation requires the driver to maximize concentration and confidence in the maneuver being made.

How to make sure the maneuver is safe

The main difficulty when changing lanes is the correct assessment of the traffic situation. You must make sure that when you change lanes, no other vehicle will be in the area you occupy. To do this, it is very often not enough just to look in the rear-view mirror immediately before starting the maneuver. Firstly, there is a possibility that there is another car next to your car in the dead zone.

Dead zone - a situation in which the object has disappeared from side mirror rear view, but has not yet appeared in the side window. This area is always wider on the passenger side of the mirror.

Secondly, with a cursory glance, it is impossible to estimate the speed of the approach of the car following you. When you look in the mirror, the distance will indeed be sufficient to rebuild. But already by the beginning of the maneuver, the car will have time to approach you at a distance that is unsafe for maneuvering.

Implementation of the maneuver

To avoid an accident, you need to prepare accordingly for rebuilding:

  • if there are no cars in the rear view mirror, you need to look in side windows. This must be done in such a way as not to lose control of the vehicle and be able to react to the maneuvers of the vehicle in front. You need to make sure that there are no cars in the dead zone;
  • in dense traffic, you need to use “pockets” for rebuilding (the interval between densely moving cars is sufficient for maneuvering). To do this, you need to wait until the car, after which rebuilding is possible, will get ahead of you. Such a maneuver can be considered safe, since you will make sure that for specific car no other vehicle follows, and therefore an unpleasant surprise awaits you in the dead zone;
  • if you notice a car walking along the lane, be sure to look in the mirror after 2-3 seconds in order to adequately assess its speed. With a single glance, this is impossible, and if you focus on objects in the rear-view mirror for a long time, you lose control of the situation ahead of you. Remember that the traffic situation in heavy traffic changes every second;
  • when changing lanes, the flow of which moves with more speed, the maneuver must be done ahead of time. Once you have entered the lane, your speed must match the traffic. IN winter time with rutting and slippery road surfaces, you need to accelerate only in your own lane. Otherwise, there is a risk of drift. With a sufficient coefficient of adhesion, it is possible to accelerate even when changing lanes.

To reduce the dead zone, you should correctly adjust the rear-view mirrors. At correct adjustment in the near edge of the mirror you should see a small protruding part of the stern. When setting the angle of vertical inclination, a balance must be observed. If you tilt the mirror too low, the blind spot will decrease, but you will lose sight of vehicles in the distance. The situation will worsen even more when going down the slope.

Never change 2 lanes at the same time as you will not be able to adequately assess traffic situation. Lane change should be smooth. Now you know how to rebuild correctly so as not to get into an accident.
