The petrol engine develops 107 hp. For a dynamic ride on a rear-wheel drive GAZelle, it is quite enough, but in the version with a 4x4 wheel formula, things are different. Four-wheel drive simply eats up part of the power, the GAZelle 4x4 accelerates slowly and forcefully. The motor has to be turned to the “red zone” and only then switched. The rumble of the transmission, which appears already at a speed of 40-50 km / h, constantly annoys. In general, on the pavement, the permanent all-wheel drive of the GAZelle completely discredited itself. In motion, I frankly did not like the car, and only the old transmission is to blame for this.

In Sobol, the load on the all-wheel drive system is also high, but the car obediently responds to pressing the “gas” pedal, the rumble of bridges and the transfer case appears only after 80 km / h - for an unrolled domestic “all-wheel drive” this good result. There are other significant differences between the Nizhny Novgorod "brothers". At the same time, the wheelbase of the latter is only 14 cm shorter.

Another question is the versions of the GAZelle and Sobol with a 4x4 wheel arrangement. Permanent four-wheel drive noticeably interferes with the machines to work.
