12. STOPPING AND PARKING

12.1. Stop and parking Vehicle allowedon right side roadson the sidelines , and in its absence,on the roadway at its edge (Fig. 120) and in the cases established by clause 12.2 of the Rules, on the sidewalk.

On the left side roads stopping and parking are allowed V settlements on the roads with one stripe movements for each direction no tram lines in the middle and on the roads one-way(trucks with a maximum authorized mass of more than 3.5 tons on the left side of a one-way road are only allowed to stop for loading or unloading).

Rice. 120. Stop on the side of the road
or at the edge of the road

Before starting to consider this topic, it does not hurt to return to section 1 of the SDA and read again about the terms "stop" and "parking".

Stop at modern conditions heavy traffic and high speeds is a matter of great responsibility. It is necessary to stop not anyhow, but carefully choosing safe place, otherwise the consequences of even a seemingly harmless short-term stop for boarding and disembarking passengers can become tragic.

To avoid trouble, you should think not only about cars passing by, but also about those that will try to bypass your car, leaving, for example, from a parking lot.

There is a separate conversation about stopping and parking on the left side of the road (Fig. 121).

Rice. 121. Stop on the left side of the road

To get on the left side on a two-way road (Fig. 121 A), first you need to skip all oncoming cars. At the end of the parking (stop) you should return back to your right side. At the same time, before starting the movement, you must make sure that you do not interfere with either oncoming or passing vehicles.

The meaning of allowing stopping and parking on the left side of a dual carriageway is very simple. What difference does it make whether you stop on a road with two lanes on the right or on the left, a certain obstacle to traffic will still be created.

As for the "left" stop on a one-way road, it is logical and should not cause confusion (Fig. 121 b).

And in fig. 121 V situations are shown when stopping and parking on the left side of the road are prohibited.

12.2. It is allowed to park the vehicle in one row parallel to edge carriageway, except for those places configuration ( local widening carriageway) which allows a different location of vehicles. two-wheeled vehicles without side trailer allowed to be placed in two rows.

Parking on the sidewalk, bordering With carriageway, allowed only cars cars, motorcycles, mopeds And bicycles in places marked with sign 6.4 with one of the plates 8.6.2, 8.6.3, 8.6.6-8.6.9.

Three important points must be highlighted.

1. It is allowed to park a vehicle at an angle to the carriageway only in those places where it is determined by signs, markings or road configuration (in so-called pockets).

2. Use the sidewalk for stopping and parking can only cars (as well as motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles), and only if the parking place is indicated by the signs specified in paragraph 12.2, which determine the specific way of positioning on the sidewalk. In other places, driving onto the sidewalk for stopping and parking is completely or partially prohibited!

3. Trucks, buses and the like, regardless of the permitted maximum weight, passenger capacity and dimensions, neither partially nor completely can be placed on the sidewalk!

12.3. Parking for the purpose of a long rest, overnight stay, etc. outside the village permitted only on designated areas or off road.

12.4. Stop prohibited:

- on tram tracks, as well as in the immediate closeness from them, if it interferes tram traffic;

- on railway crossings, in tunnels, as well as on overpasses, bridges, overpasses (if there are less than three lanes for traffic in this direction) and under them;

- in places where the distance between the solid line its markings (except for marking the edge of the carriageway), dividing line or opposite edge roadway and stopped vehicle less than 3 m;

- at pedestrian crossings and closer 5 m in front them;

Section 12.4 is very large, so we will break it into separate paragraphs. Now we will talk only about the two previous paragraphs (3 m before the solid line and 5 m before the pedestrian crossing).

Let's deal with traffic violations shown in fig. 122.

Rice. 122. Stop near the pedestrian
transition

The driver of car "1" stopped in front of a pedestrian crossing at a distance of more than 5 m. This is good. But the distance from the solid marking line to the side of his car turned out to be less than 3 m.

Such a stop will force the other driver to break the rules - to cross the continuous marking line. Stopping in similar conditions, you should ask yourself the question: "Will it fit big truck between my car and a solid line?".

The driver of car "2" is wrong twice. First, he violated the requirement of the rule just considered. And secondly, his car is closer than 5 m in front of the pedestrian crossing. Thus, it does not allow pedestrians and drivers of cars approaching from behind to see each other.

About the driver of the car "3" and do not want to talk.

But the fourth driver does not violate anything. It is enough just to cross the pedestrian crossing, and there you will no longer interfere with pedestrians, and the marking line again becomes intermittent.

- on the road near dangerous turns and convex fractures longitudinal profile of the road at visibility roads less than 100 m in at least one direction

If from the place where you decide to stop, the road is visible for less than 100 m at least one way, then stop on the road you are prohibited.

It turns out that on a sharp turn of the road you can stop on the sidelines! This phrase will help you pass the exams at the traffic police, but after the exam it is better to forget it! The chance of an accident is too great when standing car opens to the eye suddenly, even if it is on the side of the road.

- at the crossroads and closer 5 m from the edge of the crossed carriageway, except for the side opposite side passage tripartite intersections (crossroads) having a solid marking line or a dividing strip;

Intersections need to be dealt with in detail.

On fig. 123 shows areas where stopping is prohibited. If you stop at any of the places marked in red, then the movement through the intersection will either be paralyzed or very difficult.

Rice. 123. Stop near the intersection

If there is a broken line (or its complete absence) on T-junction(Fig. 124) the driver of car "3" has the opportunity to turn right and left, and the driver of car "4" to perform a U-turn. Such an intersection is treated as a normal intersection with numerous allowable maneuvers. Stopping the driver of car "1" in this place is of course prohibited.

Rice. 124. Stop on a T-bar
crossroads is prohibited

On fig. 125, a solid line prohibits the driver of car "3" from turning left, and the driver of car "4" from turning. Therefore, the side of the intersection opposite the side passage can be taken as a section ordinary road. It remains only to take into account other stopping rules. This is the distance to a solid marking line, and the proximity of a turn in the road, etc.

Rice. 125. Stop on a T-bar
crossroads allowed

Is it possible to stop at an intersection, for example, to disembark a passenger, in the situation depicted in Fig. 126?

"Of course not!" - you say.

Didn't guess. Can!

Rice. 126. Stop at the crossroads

When studying traffic rules, one should delve into the meaning of the words and expressions of each paragraph. Stopping is prohibited crossing the carriageways , not on crossroads. Of course, such a stop requires the driver to make a sober assessment of the situation and knowledge of not only one traffic rule clause, but sometimes this is the only possible variant stops for the next hundreds of meters without violating the rules.

Closer than 15 meters from the stops of route vehicles, marked with marking 1.17, and in its absence - from the pointer of the place of stop of route vehicles (except for a stop for boarding or disembarking passengers, if this does not interfere with the movement of route vehicles);

Ordinary cars are allowed to stop at the designated stops of route vehicles only for embarkation and disembarkation of passengers. Moreover, this is permissible only in the absence of an approaching bus or trolleybus (Fig. 127). Otherwise, to get on and off your passenger, you must drive at least 15 m from the stop.

Rice. 127. Route stops
Vehicle

- where the vehicle will close from other drivers traffic signals, road signs , or make it impossible to move ( entry or exit) other vehicles, or create interfere with movements pedestrians;

At this point, you are once again called for reasonable behavior on the road. When you stop a car in one place or another, you should think about other road users: "Will I interfere with someone with my stop?" This good question. If each driver asks himself more often, then life on the road will become much calmer.

12.5. Parking is prohibited:

- in places where stopping is prohibited;

- outside settlements on the carriageway of roads marked with sign 2.1;

- closer than 50 m from railway crossings.

A railway crossing is a very dangerous place (see Fig. 26). Therefore, do not complicate the entrance to it with parking. In the same time stay before and after moving possible (but preferably not for all 5 minutes) .

12.6. When forced to stop in places where stopping is prohibited, the driver must accept everything possible measures to remove the vehicle from these places.

12.7. It is forbidden to open the doors vehicle, if it interferes other road users.

12.8. The driver can leave your place or leave vehicle, if accepted necessary measures excluding spontaneous movement of the vehicle or its use in the absence of the driver.

Because of a large number cars on the roads, it is now becoming increasingly difficult for drivers to choose a place to park or stop. Some car owners think that nothing bad will happen if they leave their vehicle for a short time next to or directly on a pedestrian crossing. How else will it happen, and in best case you can get a fine, and at worst - become the culprit of the accident. It is also worth bearing in mind that traffic police officers, having seen a car parked in violation of the rules of the road, have every right to call a tow truck that will take the car to a car impound.

But, most importantly, remember - the zebra was invented to ensure the safety of pedestrians, and by violating parking rules, you expose someone else's life unjustified risk. Let's discuss what to do if you need to park next to a pedestrian crossing.

Can I park behind a pedestrian crossing?

Car enthusiasts are often interested in this issue, since nowadays zebras are found at almost every turn, which makes it difficult to choose a parking space. Let's define the concepts.

The pedestrian crossing is intended for people wishing to cross the road. As a rule, it is indicated by special markings in the form of a zebra, as well as road signs familiar to everyone since childhood with a walking man.

Sometimes the markings are erased or become invisible under a layer of snow or dirt - in this case, you need to focus on established signs. That is, the distance between them informs drivers about the boundaries of the pedestrian crossing.

Interestingly, the foreign word "parking" in Russian rules there is simply no traffic. There is a parking lot. She assumes that:

  • the driver intentionally stopped the vehicle from moving;
  • the time that the machine will stand will exceed five minutes;
  • the reason that forced the car owner to stop is in no way connected with the disembarkation (boarding) of passengers, as well as with the loading (unloading) of the vehicle;
  • the car is placed parallel to the roadside (unless otherwise provided by signs) or in a place specially designated for parking purposes.

Traffic rules do not prohibit parking after a pedestrian crossing. Why? To answer this question, you need to understand - what is the seriousness of parking next to a zebra? With the safety of those who will walk across the road. If you park your car immediately after the crossing, this will not interfere with either pedestrians or other drivers, since their view of the zebra will not be blocked.

Important: Parking right next to the pedestrian crossing is allowed. Distance from zebra to this case doesn't matter.

Parking in front of and after a pedestrian crossing - rules

Section 12 of the SDA refers to when parking and stopping are allowed or prohibited. Both pedestrians and drivers should understand that a vehicle that stops right in front of a zebra will simply block the view of other road users. This is extremely dangerous, as cars approaching the crossing may not see people crossing the road, because they will be closed by an illegally parked car. In fact, there are a lot of such sad situations when a pedestrian unexpectedly for the driver appears already in the center of a zebra. And it's good if the reaction does not let the motorist down. But sometimes it’s not enough to quickly apply the brakes, because the mass of the car will still not allow it to stop instantly. If you need to park and there is a pedestrian crossing nearby, you must follow the following rules:

  • Parking and stopping directly on the zebra are prohibited.
  • Parking in front of a pedestrian crossing is possible and permissible if more than 5 meters remain before it.
  • If you want to leave the car behind a zebra, then remember that you cannot run into the markings.
  • Estimate the width of the stripes if they are separated by a solid marking line. Your car should not interfere with the movement of other vehicles, for this the distance from the solid line to the parked car should be 3 meters or more.

Important: sometimes on a two-lane road, drivers want to park their car on the left side. It is possible, but it must be done as follows: either stop before reaching the zebra, or drive through the crossing and 5 meters after it. The rules are simple - you should never park a vehicle so that it hides pedestrians from other motorists.

When choosing a parking spot, look at the signs and remember the rules of the road - parking is prohibited in some places. As a rule, it is unacceptable in the same place as the stop, which we will discuss below.

How to choose a place to stop at a pedestrian crossing?

Often, drivers do not understand the difference between the concepts of "stop" and "parking". And it is, and it is very significant. We talked about parking above. The stop assumes that the motorist will deliberately stop moving for a time that does not exceed 5 minutes. Perhaps more, but then the stop should have a specific purpose - boarding (disembarking) passengers or unloading (loading) a car. That is, the difference in terms lies in the time interval.

Here are examples of stopping:

  • The driver intentionally stopped driving the car for 4 minutes and 50 seconds. This will be a stop, and it does not matter at all what the people in the car were doing at the time in question.
  • If there was an intentional cessation of the movement of the vehicle in order to unload the vehicle. The duration of the process is not taken into account, you can unload at least 15 minutes, at least an hour.
  • It was necessary to disembark passengers. The time interval also does not matter.

Important: Let's say you decide to smoke. We got out of the car with a cigarette for 15 minutes - parking. If you accidentally have a stool lying around in your trunk, then take it out, sit down and smoke. This will be a stop. That is, the difference depends on the duration and goals.

When choosing a place to stop, you must be careful and look around. There is a possibility that it is impossible to perform such an action on the monitored section of the road according to the rules of the road. For example, there is a sign “Stopping is prohibited”, etc. When looking for a place to stop, you should use the rules announced in the traffic rules. It is forbidden to stop:

  • On rails intended for trams, as well as near them;
  • At railway crossings, bridges, tunnels, overpasses, etc.;
  • On a zebra and closer than 5 meters in front of it;
  • At a distance of less than 15 meters from the stop public transport. It can be indicated by both markup and a sign. An exception is the boarding and disembarking of people;
  • On a road with dangerous curves or heavy traffic;
  • On a lane reserved for cyclists;
  • If your car interferes with other road users. For example, it will interfere with pedestrians, block road signs or traffic signals from other motorists, etc.;
  • At an intersection and closer than 5 meters from the edge of the carriageway (the one you are crossing);
  • If the distance between your vehicle and the solid lane demarcation line (if any) is less than 3 meters.

The same requirements apply to parking, but two more are added: parking is prohibited on the carriageway of the main road if you are traveling outside the settlement, and at a distance of less than 50 meters from the railway crossing.

Distance to pedestrian crossing when parking

It was noted above that when parking in front of a pedestrian crossing, you need to stop moving 5 meters or more from it. You should focus on the markup or sign. Moreover, it should be understood that the distance is determined from the most protruding part of the car to the “pedestrian” sign or the beginning of the marking. The zebra itself is not taken into account.

When parking after crossing, you can ignore the distance to the markings if you parked on the right side of the road or the traffic is one-way. If you chose left lane on a two-lane road with an oncoming and passing traffic, then the crossing should be driven and the car stopped 5 or more meters from it.

Important: do not forget about other parking requirements, they are defined in the traffic rules. It is also necessary to correctly position the car relative to the roadway, and find out if parking is not prohibited for any reason.

Parking ticket at a pedestrian crossing

Parking a vehicle directly on a zebra entails administrative responsibility, as defined in Part 3 of Article 12.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Parking at a pedestrian crossing is punishable by a fine of 1,000 rubles for the regions. For St. Petersburg and Moscow, the amount of the monetary penalty is higher and amounts to 3,000 rubles. This is due to the intensity of traffic and the huge amount of transport. Also for illegal parking on a zebra there is additional measure responsibility - your car can be detained, that is, evacuated. A rather unpleasant situation, because the costs incurred by the tow truck, and the payment for the parking lot - everything falls on the shoulders of the car owner. Another disadvantage is the time spent on the return of the native car.

Important: Vehicles that make a forced stop are not fined. For example, if the driver or passenger became ill, the car broke down, etc. The main thing, remember that in such a situation you need to do something - turn on the emergency gang and put a sign on the road emergency stop. Otherwise, it will be difficult to argue the legitimacy of parking in a prohibited place. If you are having difficulty proving the legality of your actions, then set .

Penalty for stopping at a pedestrian crossing

Stopping at a pedestrian crossing, as well as parking, is unacceptable. The liability for it is similar to the parking penalty discussed above.

Thus, parking behind a zebra is allowed, and you should stop at a distance of 5 meters or more before it. The fine for parking at a pedestrian crossing is 3,000 rubles for Moscow and St. Petersburg drivers and 1,000 rubles for car owners living in other regions. Important to consider traffic situation in general, that is, pay attention to the markings, signs and other nuances covered in the rules of the road. First of all, drivers should understand - pedestrian crossings created to ensure the safety of people who want to get from point A to point B. This means that your actions, whether it be parking or stopping, should not lead to emergencies or interfere with pedestrians and other drivers. Be careful and remember that your loved ones also cross the road every day.

Finding a parking space in the city is very difficult. Often, a driver, even familiar with the traffic rules, violates the parking rules because he could not find a free space where it is allowed to leave vehicles.

What is the punishment for similar situations? And where in urban conditions, according to the rules of the road, you can park Personal car?

In the traffic rules in paragraph 12, all cases relating to parking rules are explained.

According to legislative norms, vehicles can be left for five minutes or longer:

  • at a distance of 5 meters and further from the pedestrian crossing;
  • at a distance of 15 meters and further from a public transport stop;
  • 50 meters from railway crossings.

The same paragraph lists road signs that define the area where you can park a personal car. In particular, it is allowed to leave the car on the roadway so that its side part is parallel to the general flow of vehicles.

These signs are often supplemented various designations defining:

  • how you can put the car (parallel, perpendicular);
  • stopping place (sidewalk, roadway) and more.

In cases where there are no additional signs in the permitted place (special markings, etc.), then you can park the car as follows:

  • parallel to the sidewalk line at the edge of the carriageway;
  • near the curb located on the right side of the road (if the highway is one-way, then it is allowed to leave it on the left);
  • driving onto the sidewalk.

These rules apply to short-term stoppages. Leaving the car on the side of the road at night is prohibited. By the way - it was tougher.

Prohibitions

In the same paragraph of traffic rules a fairly large list of places where you can not leave the car unless absolutely necessary is listed:

  1. Railway crossings, bridge structures and so on.

At railway crossings, stopping is always prohibited.

It is allowed to temporarily park on the bridge and overpass, as well as in the tunnel, provided that there are more than three lanes in one direction on these sections of the motorway.

  1. Markup.

According to the traffic rules, it is forbidden to leave the car closer than three meters to the dividing line and the opposite part of the motorway. The essence of this paragraph is as follows: between a parked car and the other side of the road, there should be so much free space that it is enough for the passage of vehicles.

  1. Pedestrian crossings.

You can not leave the car in front of the "zebra" (the distance must be more than five meters) and directly on it. It is allowed to park vehicles behind the crossing.

This rule was introduced so that pedestrians walking on carriageway, immediately fell into the field of view of other motorists.

  1. Tram rails.

Parking is prohibited both directly on the tracks and next to them, provided that the car creates obstacles for the free movement of the tram.

There is one nuance that is not provided for in this paragraph of the rules: is parking allowed on abandoned tracks? More likely, right choice will not tempt fate and not leave transport here.

  1. Places with limited visibility.

According to the rules, you can not leave the car in places with limited visibility:

  • at sharp turns;
  • before the road rises.

Vehicles must remain visible within 100 meters or more.

  1. Crossroads.

Stopping is allowed at a distance exceeding five meters from the intersection (crossing of carriageways).

  1. Road signs.

It is forbidden to leave vehicles in places where it covers road signs and traffic lights. Also, you can not park the car if it interferes with the normal passage of other cars, including the entrance to the adjacent territories, and the movement of pedestrians on the sidewalk.

  1. Bicycle paths.

According to the rules of the DD, it is forbidden to leave motor vehicles in places specially designated for the movement of cyclists.

bus stops

Sign bus stop installed in places where a public transport stop is provided:

  • buses;
  • trolleybuses;
  • fixed-route taxis.

According to the traffic rules, this territory is additionally limited by a special yellow line of a broken shape.

Near the stop of city vehicles, drivers of other vehicles are prohibited from:

  • make turns;
  • move backward;
  • park.

The last paragraph provides for an exception: the driver has the right to make a short stop for boarding / disembarking passengers, provided that he does not interfere with public transport.

Parking in the adjacent territories

The rules for parking in yards or in adjacent territories are similar to those described above.

That is, you can not leave the car in the immediate vicinity of the building: the distance between them must be more than 10 meters.

Also prohibited:

  • park your car on lawns and playgrounds;
  • to drive into the local area by transport, the mass of which exceeds 3.5 tons.

In addition, when organizing a parking space, it is necessary to be guided by the following standards:

  • if the parking lot accommodates up to 50 cars inclusive, then it remains free:
  • if the parking area is designed for more than 50 cars, it must be surrounded by a fence.

Another important nuance, which is forgotten by many drivers:

  • Pedestrians have the right of way in adjacent areas.

Penalties

Behind traffic violation The current Code of Administrative Offenses provides for the following sanctions:

  1. 1.5 thousand rubles (only for Moscow and St. Petersburg) for non-compliance with the requirements of established signs or markings. Also in such situations, it is envisaged to take the transport to the impound.
  2. Stopping in places designated for parking cars of persons with disabilities is punishable by a fine of 3-5 thousand rubles.
  3. 1 thousand rubles for parking directly on the railway track. Also for this offense can seize driver license no more than 6 months.
  4. Failure to comply with parking rules - 500 rubles. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the fine for such an offense is 2.5 thousand rubles.

One of major topics is a stop and a parking lot. SDA reveal it in maximum detail. Well, this topic is very important, especially for future drivers, so it's worth discussing.

Rule number one

It is worth starting immediately with generally accepted provisions. And the first thing is to tell where stopping and parking is allowed. Traffic rules say: you can stop or park on the right side of the road, and only on the side of the road. If it is not there, then it is allowed to put the vehicle at the edge of the carriageway.

And what left-hand side? Can't stop there at all? It is possible, but only in those cities / villages / towns where there is only one lane for different directions. And if missing in the center tram rails. It is also permissible to stop on the left if a one-way road is organized to do this only for cars cargo type(which weigh more than 3500 kilograms). Unless for short-term loading or unloading.

Nuances and exceptions

So, one provision has been described above regarding such a topic as stopping and parking. The traffic rules contain some explanations regarding this rule. So, it was said that the truck can stop on the left side of the road, but only in order to load the car or vice versa, unload it. This is possible, but only if the place is marked with a special sign. It is called "The Beginning of the Settlement". The sign looks like a plate with a white background, on which it is written in black letters, for example, “Krasnodar”, “Rostov-on-Don”, “Izhevsk”, etc. But even then, stopping is not always allowed. On the left, you can stop only if the road is two-lane and the traffic there, respectively, is 2-way. You can’t do this yet if the middle of the road is divided by one continuous one. In general, this must be taken into account and be careful.

Rule number two

The next provision, concerning such a topic as stopping and parking (SDA), states that a vehicle can only be parked in one row, and it must be parallel to the edge of the carriageway. There may be exceptions. And these are situations when the driver finds himself in a place whose configuration allows you to put the car in some other way. By the way, if a person wants to park a motorcycle, moped or bicycle, then you can do it in two rows. This is due, of course, to the distinctive dimensions.

It is also possible to park the car on the very edge of the sidewalk, which borders directly on the roadway. However, it is allowed for drivers cars and 2 wheelers. And in that place a special sign must be installed (numbered as 6.4 and necessarily “supported” by a sign 8.6.2 or another similar one). On the plates and it is shown exactly how in this particular place you can put the vehicle without violating the rule.

It is also worth noting the attention of one nuance that covers such a topic as parking and stopping. Traffic rules state that if the roadway is separated from the sidewalk by a lawn, then it is strictly forbidden to park vehicles there. There were such cases, because now it is already stipulated. You can't park your car on this sidewalk.

Rest

There is one more point that is important to mention. Rest - for this purpose, parking and stopping are also often provided. Traffic rules say that there are certain areas for this. This is true. If a person is tired and feels that he needs to stretch a little, or even needs long rest- then you need to quickly find a sign that allows it. Usually it looks like a sign, which depicts a Christmas tree and a nearby bench.

If there were no such signs along the way and are not expected, then you just need to leave the road and stop - this is also possible. Main principle is to ensure that the vehicle does not interfere with other road users.

Prohibitions

As you can already understand, stopping and parking of vehicles is not allowed everywhere. It cannot be performed on or near them. Since in this way it will be possible to interfere with trams.

On and 50 meters from them, this is also prohibited, as it is life-threatening. Flyovers, tunnels, overpasses and bridges are also places that are not subject to parking and short-term parking. Also, you can not do this in a place where too narrow road. There must be at least three free meters between the car and the edge of the roadway.

Intersections, minibus stops and crossings

Pedestrian crossings are also not intended for stops. You can park, but not closer than 5 meters from it. Also, if there are some dangerous turns or convex fractures near the planned stopping place, then you can’t park the car there either. Crossing the carriageways is also not intended for this. Like bus stops. Must be at least 15 meters from the parking lot to it. Otherwise, the car will prevent buses and trolleybuses from passing to the stop. And, finally, the vehicle cannot be placed where it simply blocks some important road sign or, worse, traffic. All of this comes with hefty fines. So it is better to know what traffic rules prescribe. Stopping and parking rules are the most important topic.

Punishment for parking where it is not necessary

Now you need to tell in more detail about where you can not park. Stopping and parking of vehicles is strictly regulated. And if during the first time the driver is next to the vehicle, then in the second case, he, as a rule, leaves. And, leaving the car parked in the wrong place, you can return and notice that the car is no longer there. It wasn't stolen, it was just taken by a tow truck. Although now it is simply impossible not to be aware that this can happen. Since now, apart from the signs, “parking” is prohibited, a sign “A tow truck is working” is placed under it. It is impossible to confuse the image with anything else. Because it flaunts a tow truck, taking away the machine.

All this is fraught with consequences for the motorist. Firstly, he will have to go for his car, which is clearly not included in his plans, pay a fine for his oversight, spend by no means extra time and not extra money. Therefore, it is better to be careful and spend ten minutes trying to find a “legal” parking place, and not solve problems later.

Where not to park

So, in continuation of the above topic, it is worth telling where else traffic rules prohibit parking. Stopping and parking rules state the following: prohibited for a long period of time (which is considered to be 5 minutes or more for cars) to park the car outside the settlement on the roadway, which is marked with the sign “ the main road” (yellow diamond in white frame, 2.1). And closer than fifty meters from the rail.

To make it clearer, it is necessary to explain - a parking lot is a deliberate stoppage of the movement of his car by the driver. If he decides to park for five minutes, it's a stop. Parking takes longer. True, if the stop associated with the landing of people (or their disembarkation) or, perhaps, the loading / unloading of things was delayed, then there is nothing to worry about. Even if it lasts more than five minutes, you don't need to stop it - you need to finish it.

And, of course, you can not park where it is, in principle, not allowed. This will be discussed in more detail now.

markup

So, above it was a little mentioned about parking and stop signs. Traffic rules contain another important topic, and this is markup. There are special "lines" that prohibit private cars from parking. Well, it’s worth figuring it out and turning to the traffic rules again.

Stopping and parking is prohibited on those road sections that differ in zigzag markings yellow color. Only taxis with a taximeter turned on and route facilities can park in these places.

It is also impossible to cross a solid line for parking - otherwise a fine of 500 rubles. Often there is a duplicate road sign in the parking space. For example, the sign "Place for the disabled." If a person ignores any rules and leaves his vehicle where it is not supposed to, he will face a fine of 5,000 rubles.

Marking 1.4 (straight yellow line) is a “signal” that prohibits anyone from stopping at all. Intermittent, of the same color, does not allow parking the vehicle. That is, parking there is prohibited. If a person violates, then he faces a fine of one and a half thousand rubles.

In general, as can be seen, stopping and parking of vehicles is prohibited by many markings and rules. Therefore, it is worth learning where what is possible, and where what is not. Won't hurt.

Special situations

It happens that the person sitting behind the wheel has to urgently stop the vehicle. Circumstances forced him. But if this happened, then he is obliged to take all measures as soon as possible in order to remove the car from the place where stopping and parking is prohibited. The effect of the sign, if it is installed there, is not canceled emergency- you need to understand it. But anything can happen, therefore, in order not to confuse other motorists, a person must immediately turn on alarm and put a “triangle” (i.e., an emergency stop sign). In residential areas, this must be done at a distance of 15 meters. Outside the city it is necessary to put at least 30 meters.

What to do is prohibited

Talking about such a topic as stopping and parking vehicles (SDA), it is worth noting with attention what cannot be done. Rule 12.7 states that even when parked, you must not open the doors of cars if this in any way interferes with other people participating in road traffic. And it's not just the driver. Passengers must also comply with this regulation. Otherwise, all responsibility will fall on the shoulders of the one who sits behind the wheel. Therefore, before leaving the car, the passenger must notify the driver about this. And only after permission to leave. This is especially true for taxi drivers and minibuses. Or rather, for the people who are in their salons. There have been many cases when the driver has not yet stopped, but simply slowed down (due to the fact that there was a traffic jam, another motorist needs to be let through, etc.), and the passenger is already trying to get out of the car. For this, a fine is also imposed, and on the one who is driving. Not without reason after all minibuses refuse tearfully imploring people to “slow down here”. Stopping and parking in settlements is allowed in specific places, so people don’t need to get angry and shout - you just need to read the rules and be glad that the driver is neat and vigilant.

Rules of conduct while parking

The last prescription (12.8) says that the driver has no right to leave the car without taking appropriate security measures. That is, to put it differently, it must ensure the complete immobility of the car. Put on the handbrake, muffle, pick up the keys and lock the doors. It is advised to do this, even if the parking is short-term. Firstly, to do so is in the interests of the driver (since in our modern age stealing someone else's car is a simple matter), and secondly, you can get a fine if you suddenly forget to put on parking brake. The car rolls backwards and accidentally crashes into a car that gets in its way.

In general, as you can see, there are many rules, but it is easy to remember all of them if you make some effort for this. And you need to know them. Firstly, when passing a theoretical exam at the traffic police, this will come in handy, and secondly, it will definitely help in practice.

Parking is a painful topic for residents of large cities, especially metropolitan ones: Moscow, Kyiv, St. Petersburg. In this article, we will try to figure out the rules of parking so that one day you don’t happen to see your car being taken away on a tow truck.

These issues are detailed in section 12 of the Rules of the Road.

It is allowed to leave the car for longer than five minutes:

  • no closer than 5 meters from a zebra or an intersection;
  • 15 meters, but not closer, from stops of route vehicles;
  • 50 meters from railway crossings.

Also in this section of the traffic rules are listed various, in the area of \u200b\u200bwhich parking and stopping are allowed. So, in the conditions of urban cramped streets, cars can be placed parallel to the sidewalk. Sometimes a sign 8.6.1-8.6.9 is posted under the sign 6.4, it shows exactly how it is possible in this place park the car - parallel or perpendicular to the curb, on the sidewalk, and so on.

By default, - if there are no prohibition signs, solid, intermittent (zigzag), - park the car:

  • parallel to the edge;
  • on the right edge (if the road is one-way, then it is also allowed on the left);
  • on the sidelines.

If you are in long journey and are forced to spend the night on the way, then you need to look for service signs on the motorway - Camping, Resting place.

Stop on the side of the road for a long parking, especially in dark time days is prohibited.

Where can't you park your car?

Paragraph 12.4 of the SDA is completely devoted to this problem. The most basic rule is that you don’t need to park, and indeed stop, where it will create obstacles for other drivers of pedestrians, trams and trolleybuses.

We list the main places:

  • tram tracks, railway crossings, flyovers, tunnels, bridges - in a word, all those engineering structures where there is active traffic, or car routes intersect with routes of other modes of transport;
  • at those sections of the road where the distance from the edge of the sidewalk (shoulder) to the dividing line is less than three meters;
  • on and before crossings, intersections;
  • at intervals of the route with limited (less than 100 m) visibility, in front of or behind dangerous turns;
  • in the stop area for minibuses, trams, etc.

Please note that all of the above is true for both stopping and parking.

You also need to pay attention to various road signs: (for example, on even / odd days). You can not park your car in places reserved for the disabled or marked with special signs.

Among other things, you need to avoid parking where your car will block the view of drivers of other vehicles.

About street parking

There are special rules that we previously considered.

Recall them again:

  • the distance from the parked car to the wall of the building is at least ten meters;
  • it is forbidden to park on lawns, playgrounds;
  • if the parking area is designed for up to 50 vehicles, it can be open, but if more than 50, it must be separated by a fence;
  • can't leave trucks weighing more than three and a half tons.

It must be remembered that in the adjacent territories - in the courtyards of residential buildings - the priority belongs to pedestrians.

Irregular parking fines

To delve into this topic, you need to open the Code of Administrative Offenses, there we will find all the information we are interested in:

  • parking at a railway crossing - 1000 rubles or confiscation of a VU for 3-6 months. (12.10);
  • failure to comply with the requirements of signs or markings - 1,500 (3,000 rubles for Moscow and St. Petersburg), sending to a penalty area is also provided (12.16 hours 4-5);
  • occupied a parking space for vehicles belonging to people with disabilities - 3,000-5,000 (12.19 p.2);
  • violation of the rules of stopping and parking - 500 rubles (in Moscow and St. Petersburg - 2,500) (12.19 p.1 and 12.19 p.5).

Further, in the sections of Article 12.19 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, parking and stopping violations are considered - at crossings, intersections, places of arrival route transport. Please note that for capital cities, the fine is 3,000, and for regions - 1,000-1,500.

If you not only parked against the rules, but also created problems for other participants in the DD, then you won’t get off with one fine - evacuation is provided for by law with all the ensuing consequences: a penalty area, plus a fine.

They deserve special attention on lawns and in residential areas. Each region has its own fee amount. In addition, there are various services through which citizens can complain about violating drivers. So try not to leave your car where it will interfere with others.

It is also worth noting that most yards are not adapted for this amount of traffic, so it makes sense to take care of paid parking with which your car will definitely not be stolen.
