The tower crane KB-303 (KBK-100.1) is made on the basis of the units of the main model of this class - the Crane KB-100.1. The crane is full-revolving self-propelled, with a tubular swivel (unloaded) tower, beam boom. It is equipped with booms 20 and 25 m long and works when they are installed in a horizontal or inclined position. In the latter case, the carriage can move when the boom is tilted up to 12°30'. If the inclination of the carriage is greater, then it is fixed motionless at the end of the boom, and the crane works as with a conventional shunting boom.

The ladder for lifting the crane operator into the cab is placed inside the tower, and the cab itself is attached to the brackets in its upper part.

On the root part of the boom, which has a triangular section, a winch for the movement of the cargo carriage is installed, the ropes of the boom berth and limit switches for limiting the boom reach and carriage travel are also attached there. The counterweight of the crane consists of ten reinforced concrete slabs laid at the bottom on the rotary part of the crane.

The crane uses unified mechanisms: boom winch L-450-Sh, cargo winch - L-3.2-I, turning mechanism, four two-wheeled undercarriages and a cabin.

The crane is mounted and dismantled using its own mechanisms and truck cranes with a lifting capacity of at least 7 tons (AK-75, KS-3561, KS-3562). The crane can be transported between objects in assembled form on a trailer for MAZ-210 vehicles on a rolling cart.

The design of the crane allows you to get five additional assemblies, differing in the height of the tower and the length of the boom.

The crane consists of a running frame, a turntable, a tower, a boom, a hook suspension, chain hoists, a counterweight and ballast, a boom support, unified mechanisms, safety devices and electrical equipment. The boom and tower of a rectangular lattice structure are welded from corners. Sections are joined by hinged bolts. The counterweight and the ballast placed in the center consist of reinforced concrete slabs manufactured by the customer according to the drawings attached to the crane. The unified mechanisms and assemblies include a boom winch of the L-450-111 type, a cargo winch of the L-500-1 type, a turn Z-P-P, a ball turntable, four two-wheeled undercarriages (including two driving ones) and a driver's cab.

The lifting capacity of the crane can be changed by attaching the carriage and working as with a shunting boom. The arrow is made of corners and has a triangular section. The rail-mounted tower crane KB-401 (KB-1602) is designed for mechanization of the construction of objects up to 60 m high and is a fully revolving self-propelled model (Fig. 7; 8; Table 4) equipped with a shunting boom without a carriage. The hauling rope reeving system is designed in such a way that the hook movement trajectory of this crane remains close to the horizontal when the outreach changes. The crane tower is grown from below in separate sections as the structure is erected. Tower and boom of the crane are lattice, rectangular section made of hot-rolled and cold-drawn pipes.

How is the tower crane KB-403 arranged?
- The use of metal pipes in the form of a lattice structure makes the structure of the tower and boom lighter, which gives the structure greater accuracy when moving and free visual control of the actions performed.

Installation is carried out by two truck cranes, one of which sets the platform (on the running frame, the transport position locks are removed from the swivel supports). - Installation of a portal with a tower. The fastenings of the trussed truss of the turntable are docked with the fastenings of the crane portal. Fasten with hinged bolts. Next, a control cabin is mounted on the tower and struts with blocks are placed on the tower. Then, in turn, the main counterweight plates are placed on the turntable. A clip is attached to the fastening rods of the lower clip of the boom pulley block. The crane ropes are reeved and the electrical equipment is adjusted.
- Lifting the crane and assembling the boom. The crane is lifted by its own mechanisms. Installation of working struts to hold in a vertical position. The boom is assembled using a truck crane. After the boom is assembled, the crane hook frame is installed and the boom ropes are reeved (boom bracing, cargo rope). If necessary, the crane is built up with additional (inventory) sections of the tower.

When dismantling the cranes, all the above actions are carried out in reverse order, in accordance with the installation instructions and the Safety Regulations. Dismantling is carried out using truck cranes and own mechanisms. Installation, dismantling, extension, and extraction of crane sections is prohibited with a raised boom. On the running frame of the crane, the slewing weathercocks are fixed in the transport position. The boom is completely removed from the crane together with the cargo trolley and loaded separately from the rest of the crane (tower, head section, portal) onto transport. Each element of the crane is transported in parts (a turntable with a support frame, a control cabin, inventory sections of the tower, an boom with a cargo trolley, ballast plates, support trolleys). For transportation on highways, rolling carts and / or a truck tractor are used as transport.

Crane KB-309KhL is designed for mechanization of construction and installation works in the construction of residential and office buildings at an ambient temperature of -60 to +40°C.
For work in regions with a cold climate, the metal structures on the crane are made of low-alloy steels; electric cabinets and electrical equipment are equipped with electric heaters so that they function normally when low temperatures. In 1982, the Leningrad Association "Lenstroymash" and the Rustavi Crane Building Plant developed technical documentation for the modernized KB-100.3A tower crane, replacing the KB-100.3 and KB-100.1A tower cranes. The modernization was carried out in order to increase performance indicators crane and, first of all, productivity by increasing the speed of lifting the load and lowering the idle hook, as well as in order to reduce the complexity of manufacturing the crane.
The modernized tower crane KB-100.3A is designed for mechanization of construction in the construction of residential, administrative and industrial buildings up to 9 floors high with lifting building elements weighing up to 8 T. The crane is designed for easy mode work in I - V wind regions at an ambient temperature of +40 to -40°C.
The new modernized tower crane KB-100.3A has two versions: KB-100.3A-1 (basic version) with a tower for nine-story construction and KB-100.3A-2 with a shortened tower (without insert) for five-story construction.
Pilot samples of tower cranes of two versions, manufactured by the Rustavi Crane Building Plant, have successfully passed acceptance tests and are recommended for mass production.
Upgraded tower crane KB-100.3A ( see picture) consists of a running frame 6 with weather vanes and undercarriages; turntable 7 with cargo and boom winches placed on it, turning mechanism, two electrical control cabinets and a counterweight; towers 8 with spacer, struts, blocks and mounting rack; arrows 10 with pulleys and hook lifting height limiter, braces 11 booms, driver's cabs 9 , top 1 and lower 2 clips, hook suspension 12 , electrical equipment 3 , counterweight 4 and ballast 5 .

Running frame consists of an annular frame with lugs, four diagonal weather vanes, four rigid rods and four undercarriages, two of which are leading and two driven.
ring frame box-section, its upper and lower belts are made together with lugs reinforced with overlays. The inner shell of the annular frame is made of pipes measuring 1220 X 8 mm. On the side surface of the outer shell, brackets are provided for installing central ballast plates.

Turntable is a flat frame with a truss superstructure. Crane mechanisms are placed on the turntable: cargo twin-engine and boom winches, U3515-42P turning mechanism. Electrical control cabinets are installed on the sides, counterweight plates are on the tail booms. In front of the platform there are two brackets for mounting the crane tower. The turntable is connected to the running frame by means of a single-row roller slewing ring.

cargo winch - twin-engine, while the auxiliary engine is two-speed. The electric motors are connected in series with each other by a coupling. A brake is installed between the main and auxiliary motors. At the free end auxiliary engine installed brake machine, reliably providing a smooth landing of goods at speeds up to 5 m/min with double reeving and up to 2.5 m/min with a fourfold reeving of a cargo rope.
To lift the crane boom during installation, a unified boom winch L-450P is installed on the turntable.
Complete tower for the crane of the basic execution consists of the top and average sections, the basis, struts and struts. The sections are interconnected by flanges and butt bolts.
On the top section blocks for a cargo rope and a jib guy were installed. Inside the upper section there is a ladder for climbing into the driver's cab and access to the upper blocks for their maintenance. In the middle of the upper section, a hinge frame is welded in, which has lugs for attaching the boom and turret struts.

Spacer The tower consists of a welded frame made of pipes, two outlet blocks for cargo ropes and four head blocks, two of which are used to pass the boom guy rope, and two - to pass the boom chain hoist rope. The axis of one of the outgoing cargo blocks is fixed on a swivel bracket, which allows you to create a load on the force sensor of the cargo rope limiter.
Folding struts are used to hold the tower in a vertical position and to connect the turntable to the tower when transporting the crane on a rolling cart.
Folding strut consists of upper and lower beams. The head part of the upper beam is made in the form of an earring, which is put on the pins of the base of the tower together with an eccentric bushing, which provides compensation for inaccuracies in the manufacture of the tower and turntable. The lower beam is also equipped with an eccentric sleeve, which provides adjustment of the length of the lower brace.

Joints of sections are flanged, connected with special bolts. The sections are equipped with hinges that ensure the folding of the boom during transportation into a double or triple package, depending on the version of the crane.

To control the electric drives in the modernized tower crane, a complete device KVK-5 was used, which makes it possible to increase the speed of lifting and lowering the idle hook and loads weighing up to 3 T, use more reliable brakes in lifting and departure mechanisms direct current MP-301 type, which are powered by a control circuit rectifier.
The scheme of the complete device provides for the possibility of testing devices without turning on the power unit using a switch, which, even in the "Test" mode, does not allow the line contactor to turn off and brake mechanisms lift and change of departure.
The crane mechanisms are controlled from panels installed in the driver's cab, and when mounting the crane, using a remote push-button mounting panel. The driver's cab is equipped with air conditioning.

The crane is equipped with load capacity limiters, hook lifting height limiters, boom outreach, rotation and movement limiters, an anemometer and a lightning rod.
By technical level the modernized tower crane KB-100.3A corresponds to the best domestic and foreign models.
