The next step is to remove antifreeze from the system. First, unscrew the cap of the expansion tank - this must be done so that air flows freely and a vacuum does not form in the system that prevents the coolant from flowing out. Then, dropping under the car, unscrew drain plug located at the end of the radiator. If it is not there, disconnect any of the pipes attached to its lower part. Just loosen the clamp and carefully pull off the rubber hose. Take care of the container for collecting antifreeze in advance - it can be a canister or a plastic bucket. When all the liquid has been drained, disconnect the wires connected to the temperature sensor, then open the clamp that secures the hose to the expansion tank and disconnect it. If the hose does not give in, try gently twisting it on the fitting. As soon as it starts to spin, start pulling. Try to do all this with the utmost care so as not to damage the rubber, but if the hoses in your car are cracked, you can not stand on ceremony with them, as they will still have to be replaced. Remove carefully from engine compartment fan cover. After that, you will have access to the mount of the fan itself. Using a screwdriver, carefully unscrew this part, then disconnect the wires connected to its motor. Remove the engine relay box. If your vehicle is equipped automatic transmission transmission, disconnect the cooler pipes leading to it. Seal the holes that appear so as to prevent dust, sand or other dirt from entering them. After you get full access to the radiator, you can proceed to its direct removal. To do this, using a wrench, unscrew the retaining bolts located on top and gently pull the radiator up. If you did everything right, then the part should move freely and you can pull it out completely. Try to do this in such a way that antifreeze residues do not flow out of unplugged holes - this is a poisonous liquid that can ruin paintwork your vehicle in the event of a hit.

When the radiator is in your hands, carefully inspect it for damage and leaks. If you have argon welding skills, you can try to fix them yourself, but if you are not able to do this, entrust the repair to a specialist.

How to fix a new

  1. Connect the fans to the new cooling system and tighten them with nuts.
  2. After that, carefully insert it into place, putting landing pads on it, connect the power plug to the fan.
  3. Then you need to fix the lower pipe to the thermostat, generously lubricated with sealant to eliminate the possibility of leakage, and also fix the upper and tighten the clamps.
  4. Next, you need to fix the expansion tank return clamp, attach the screen and fix the iron clamp.
  5. After that, install the air duct and air filter, also secured with a clamp.

Filling a new radiator

At the end, in expansion tank new radiator should be filled with "Tosol" or antifreeze. Basically, in new system cooling, approximately 5-8 liters of liquid are poured to cool the engine. After filling with antifreeze, the car must be started and left running for several minutes in order for the thermostat to open and the antifreeze to go into the engine cooling system. Replacing the radiator 2114, like any other VAZ model, should be carried out in a warm room or in the summer season.
