A car that flies. Two-seat flying taxi Passenger Drone is being tested in Europe

12.06.2019

From the very beginning of the birth of aviation, people began to dream of making a full-fledged flying car. Flying soared in the minds of a huge number of designers and science fiction writers. From the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day, many different projects have been created, many of which have even been fully tested. However, for last century never managed to create something really worthy of mass use. Many concepts remained at the stage of a paper project, but of those that were nevertheless built, many never took off. Projects that passed the tests ended up being either considered crazy or crashed and shut down forever.

And even despite the fact that since its inception, aviation has been actively developing, evolving and changing beyond recognition, the flying car was never built for mass consumption - well, cars don’t want to fly. As they say: born to ride - cannot fly. But still, let's take a look at what has already been created, and what is just being prepared for development.

First autoplan

The first flying car was developed in 1916 by American designer Glenn Curtis. The flying machine was called the "Curtis Autoplane", and with that name remained forever in history. The design principle was very simple, the Ford T, which was the most popular and affordable "people's" car at that time, was equipped with three-tier, aluminum wings of the aircraft, and there was also a small propeller in the rear.

However, unlike the base Ford T, this miracle of heaven and earth was equipped with a aircraft engine, which set the car in motion both on the ground and in the sky. The first flying car had to carry three passengers. However, in 1917, when the first tests were carried out, the car could not take off, but only slightly jumped along the runway. After that, the project was closed once and for all.

Flying Ford

A few years after the first unsuccessful attempt to build a flying car, Henry himself got down to business. But he did not get quite a flying car. It looks like an ordinary aircraft of those times. Yes, and in the plans of Ford was precisely the creation of an aircraft for everyone. They called the plane "Flying Flivver" and it weighed only some one hundred and sixty kilograms. Henry planned to launch it to the masses, selling for five hundred dollars a copy. However, in 1928, during the next test, the plane crashed, and the test pilot, who was at the helm, died. After this disaster, the project was curtailed.

It is not clear why this concept went down in history as a flying car, because, in fact, it was not. The plane was not designed for any kind of travel, not to mention the fact that to move around the city on it. Rather, this is the first attempt to create a personal aircraft, and not a flying machine.

"Shooter" Waterman

This is the first flying car that successfully passed all the tests, and was even put into production. Although it was rather tricycle, because that's how it was registered when buying. The hybrid accommodated two people, on the ground it accelerated to 110 kilometers per hour, and in the air to all two hundred. It was called a shooter because of its wings, which were directed backwards, and therefore the apparatus looked like an arrow. The prototype was controlled by a conventional car steering wheel, had indicators of altitude and flight speed, and was also equipped with a compass.

However, it was not quite a full-fledged flying machine. The fact is that the wings were made as a separate component, and were not included in the kit. It was planned that the owners of such a vehicle would come to the airfield and rent the missing flight kit. And after successful tests took place in 1937, the hybrid was put into production. However, having released only six copies, production was curtailed due to lack of funding. And so the life of another fantasy ended, having barely begun.

Aerofibian

In 1946, Robert Fulton decided not to torment the car and the plane, and not to force them to get along in one body. The designer went a different way, and simply gave the aircraft the opportunity to easily move through the streets of the city. In appearance, the flying machine resembled an airplane sawn into two parts, in fact, it was such. The front had four automotive wheel and easy to handle on the road. central part It had wings and a tail attached to it. The propeller was removed from the nose of the machine and mounted on the fuselage, which was left waiting for you in the garage while you ride around the city. For flights, it was required to connect the front part to the fuselage, install a propeller and you can soar into the sky. It is worth mentioning the fact that this is the first flying car that was officially approved by the Civil Aviation Committee, which already speaks of its reliability. However, due to the lack of financial component, the project was closed.

Conv Air Car

Literally right after previous model, in 1947, another miracle of the unity of earth and sky was born, this time from the Consolidated-Vultee company. It was another hybrid of an airplane and a car. An aircraft similar to an unmanned aircraft was installed on top of an ordinary two-door sedan. Everything looked quite simple, but in fact the unit really flew and drove. And everything would be fine, they were even going to conclude a contract with the military, and promote the device to the masses, but during the next tests the flying machine crashed and this idea was abandoned.

Conv Air Car- a hybrid of an airplane and a car

Aerocar

Two years later, in 1949, Molton Taylor created his flying car. By by and large it was an improvement on the Aerofibian model. And this time the flying machine turned out to be more attractive in appearance, and also had a number of advantages compared to its predecessor. The tail section and wings folded more compactly, and the included trailer was designed to carry the aircraft component. However, despite the advantages, all attempts to give this device to the masses have not been successful for unknown reasons.

Mizar

Engineer Henry Smolinski, having mastered the dream of creating a flying machine, decided to design his own prototype. And in 1974 a flying machine was developed. As a land basis, the inventor took the Ford Pinto, and the flight component was designed on the basis of the Cessna aircraft. However, this time too, Ford's products suffered a terrible setback. As a result of the tests, the wing suddenly broke, and the device crashed, and the test pilot and Henry Smolinsky himself in the car died. Resulting in further development the project was stopped.

In 2008, a flying car was introduced, more reminiscent of a space starship. His specifications really amaze. It was first developed back in 1974, and the founder of this idea was Paul Moller. He decided to create a flying car with vertical takeoff and landing without the use of helicopter technology. The result is a four-seat vehicle with eight engines enclosed in shells on the sides of the cabin, and in appearance resembling aircraft turbines, and on the ground this creation is driven by an electric motor. A flying machine is capable of developing in the air top speed up to 644 km / h, and rise to a height of up to 10 kilometers. Cruising speed the flight of the device is exactly 563 km / h, and the distance that a flying car can overcome at a time is 1449 kilometers.

One more distinctive feature is that a flying machine, and independently controls itself. And to determine its own position, the device uses channels. However, the car passed only one test, while rising to a small height with a safety rope, which actually indicates that the developers themselves do not quite trust their offspring. But despite this, Paul Moller began to offer the device to everyone for $ 995,000.

At the end of testing in 2009, the most successful flying car to date was unveiled. The device was called "Terrafugia Transition", had two seats in the cabin and folding aircraft wings. The car uses two engines - one is responsible for land movement and accelerates the car to one hundred and ten km / h, and the second is used for flights and can accelerate the bird in the air up to 185 km / h.

The maximum distance that can be overcome on this device by air is seven hundred and twenty-four kilometers. The flying car is fully adapted to travel in urban environments in compliance with all rules and laws. The wings of the device automatically unfold in just thirty seconds and are always with the car. However, you won't be able to take off on it wherever you want. To manage this transport, you must obtain a pilot's license, because the car qualifies as a small sports aircraft, and also has the right to take off and land only at airfields. At the moment, this is the first flying car recognized by the United States Federal Aviation Agency and put into mass production. A starting price cars start at $279,000.

"PAL-V"

Flying pal car V is currently a concept design by Dutchman John Becker. The device is a three-wheeled motorcycle with a closed cockpit for the pilot, on the roof of which helicopter blades are located. The PAL V flying car has a single engine capable of automatically switching between ground and air modes. The "engine" has absorbed two hundred and thirteen horses, which allow me to accelerate the device to two hundred kilometers per hour both on the ground and in the air. Max Height flight is 1200 meters, and this is the most important plus of PAL V, since for flights at such low altitudes it is not required to provide a route plan.

Given that the design has three wheels, and is not particularly stable on high speeds, it was decided to make a number of improvements. As a result, the body of the device began to automatically tilt in the direction of rotation, similar to how it behaves two-wheeled motorcycle. This technology made it possible to pass high-speed on a three-wheeled base without any fear.

Considering all the above devices, we can safely say that humanity is still very far from creating a flying car for everyone. For none of them is suitable for daily use. A flying car will be really popular, the anti-gravity of which will be achieved due to magnetic. Attempts to create such engines have already been repeatedly made, and many of them have had positive results. As a result of such attempts, the most fantastic device of Professor John Searle appeared, the operation of which was recorded by numerous witnesses.

Such prototypes will behave like "UFOs", which are capable of developing exorbitant speeds, and at the same time maintain maneuverability that is still unattainable for us. In addition to this, a flying car must be able to stop very quickly and hover in the air. Only then will the flying car become truly popular, as it will be able to fully protect both pilots and city dwellers from endless accidents in the air, because you probably wouldn’t like it if some drunken “flyer” flew into the window of your apartment. Therefore, flying was and remains so far only a dream of every person.

Flying cars are a real fetish for many futurists and motorists: what could be more beautiful than taking to the skies on a winged horse? Inventors are constantly creating and improving more and more new models of flying cars, but only a few of them are really worthy of flight. In this review - best models and concepts of modern flying cars.

1. Moller Skycar М400.
This "car", resembling a cross between racing car With spaceship, it seems, can really soar. Its flying abilities are based on the thrust of propellers, and you need to "feed" the winged horse with alcohol or kerosene. 1200 kilometers at a speed of more than 550 kilometers per hour with a fuel consumption of 10 liters per 100 km - that's what the creators promise. There is only one downside to this project: it looks like this is a grandiose swindle, designed to deceive investors, and last test flying car were held in 2003.

2.
concept car YEE, gold medalist at the Beijing International Competition automotive concepts, is interesting not only for its design. One of the main criteria of the competition was the possibility of creating a machine in metal and launching it into production. All technical solutions used in YEE, or already exist, or should appear in the next couple of years - so by the end of the decade, "Maybugs" may be rushing between skyscrapers.

3. .
Terrafugia Transition not too similar to a car - its wings were spread out too wide and powerfully. In the air, the speed of this bird will be over 185 kilometers per hour, and on the highway - 105 km / h. Switching to airplane mode and back will take about half a minute. What is especially pleasant, the launch of the model in production should begin this year, and such a machine will cost about $ 200,000.

4. Flying saucer.
This marvelous vehicle is almost an antique. Its tests took place back in 1989, bringing the first fame to the company Moller. Despite the fact that the "UFO" eats an incredible amount of fuel, is unreliable, fire hazardous and will never go into mass production, it flies! And it makes a truly mystical impression. However, it is almost a hoax. A prototype of this car could be bought on e-Bay for $15,000 a couple of years ago. It made our list solely because of its unique design.

5. Flying buggy.
Lightweight car design Parajet Sky Car, coupled with a solid propeller, allows it to soar into the sky. To do this, you just need to release a parachute. Real thrill-seekers can experiment with take-offs right from the track. However, as a city flying transport, a parachute buggy, of course, is not suitable: not only takeoff is problematic, but also landing.

6. .
Maverick Sport- another fine example of a flying car with a parachute. From the previous participant in our review, it differs in design, which will appeal to lovers of automotive antiquity. And the level of comfort and safety in it is higher than in Parajet Sky Car.

7. Helicopter-transformer.
The idea of a flying car with a propeller was continued in the concept from the office ZEEP Design. The machine, resembling a futuristic wheelchair, transforms into an insect-like helicopter with a flick of the wrist. In urban conditions, the helicopter also has a lot of disadvantages (even if we forget about the price), but if the "dragonfly" still takes off, its bizarre design will find its admirers.

8. Pal-V: motorcycle and helicopter.
This concept differs from the previous one in a smaller number of wheels, but structurally it is very similar to it: a lightweight body and mechanisms, and the presence of a helicopter propeller. It is assumed that the motorcycle will be able to fly at a speed of 185 km / h, but its fuel consumption is a secret with seven seals.

9. Flying shark.
Flying concept car Audi Shark should cut the roads of the future, relying on air cushion(apparently, there is a screen effect in mind). The designers did their best to convey the "philosophy Audi design", but did not think about our poor descendants, who will have to steer such vehicle which promises to be practically uncontrollable. However, it will not take off until artificial gravity is discovered.

10. Fuzo flying drop.
No matter how far removed from reality the previous concept car may seem, it easily beats Fuzo, oriented, as conceived by designers, for the 60s of the XXI century. The wheels in it must somehow turn into turbines, and then accelerate the car to new horizons. How many Martian Space Marines fit in such a machine depends on the model.

It remains to be summarized that real flying cars are still rare, and they are more like airplanes. But we believe that sooner or later humanity will still fulfill its age-old dream of automobiles and aircraft: there are too many designers and designers who are racking their brains over it.

Science fiction works and films often tell us that in the future humanity will abandon wheeled vehicles and switch to flying cars. But time passes, and only planes and helicopters cut through the airspace. So when will flying cars appear?

Features of this type of transport

Ideally, a flying car is compact and does not need special conditions to take off. That is, it can simply be stored in the garage and take off directly from there. But the most important thing is that this type of transport should be accessible to the middle class.

As a rule, most of the concepts of cars of the future imply the possibility of movement both by air and by land. The control of a flying machine should be extremely simple and intuitive.

Do not forget that we are talking about the technologies of the future, when they should appear new types of fuel and energy. Therefore, refueling or recharging a flying car should not cost a pretty penny. And the level of pollution environment such a vehicle should be kept to a minimum.

Modern developments in the direction of "road-air" transport are carried out taking into account the above data, but the emphasis is mainly on the fact that the car could at least rise into the air ...

Existing Models

Formally, flying machines already exist in the form of experimental models. From several dozen prototypes, we have chosen the three most promising.

Terrafugia TF-X

Manufacturers position their creation as the first in the world semi-autonomous hybrid flying car, and it largely corresponds to this formulation.

TF-X has compact dimensions and will fit in any garage

The advantage of this car is its ability to take off vertically. Movement is possible both by air and by land. By the way, it can accommodate up to four passengers.

The semi-automatic system reacts to obstacles and bad weather, independently makes landing in emergency situations, notifying air traffic controllers of their action. In addition, the TF-X is equipped with a parachute system.

Takeoff and landing will not require special skills from the driver (pilot?) - the autopilot will be responsible for this. Yes, and the entire flight is mainly carried out under computer control, and the user only needs to set the destination. The system will calculate whether there is enough fuel and charge for the flight, analyze the features of the terrain and weather conditions.

Interestingly, the propellers that lift the car into the air are powered by electric motors, and the pushing screw, which provides forward movement, is set in motion. gas turbine. Thus, without recharging and refueling, the TF-X will be able to cover more than 800 km.

Now developers are working on solving issues such as improving vehicle safety and simplifying handling.

For now estimated cost Terrafugia TF-X is close to $300,000, but the manufacturers promise that after some time it will be available at the price of a premium car.

Already in 2017 Slovak company AeroMobil is preparing to sell flying cars of its own production.

This vehicle is suitable for comfortable ride and flights. Immediately before takeoff, the wings of the Airmobile “straighten out” on the sides. So far there can be no talk of taking off directly from the freeway - for this you will have to use the runway of the nearest airfield. Accordingly, one cannot do without a pilot's license.

The cabin is designed for 2 people. Regular gasoline is used as fuel.

To improve flight performance, the body of this car is made of specially selected composite materials. In the air, AeroMobil can accelerate to 200 km / h and cover about 700 km. In the future, it will be equipped with an autopilot.

Manufacturers say that the cost of a car-airplane will be at the level of a sports car and light aircraft.

And this flying car can be purchased today. Double Transition in less than a minute can be transformed from a ground vehicle into an air vehicle.

The speed that the car reaches in flight can be 185 km / h, while the flight range is 790 km. Gasoline is used as fuel.

However, for a safe takeoff, a flat runway of 500 meters is required.

Terrafugia Transition is also certified as a road vehicle common use, and as a "light sport aircraft".

The cost of this flying car is 280 thousand dollars.

Flying car 1946

The idea of flying cars is by no means new. Already in the middle of the 20th century, engineers seriously thought about developing such a vehicle. Moreover, a model was created that corresponded to the concept of a flying car. Although it was rather an aircraft that was transformed into a ground vehicle.

We are talking about, and he really deserves attention. Amphibian was developed by Robert Fulton in 1946. And in general, he managed to adapt the plane to the road.

This flying car has become first to be certified by the United States Aviation Administration.
To transform the car into an airplane, it was necessary to fix the wings and tail, the propeller was attached to the fuselage.

Amphibious flight speed could reach 200 km, driving speed - 80 km.

Unfortunately, despite the success of his idea, Fulton was never able to put the Airphibian into mass production.

the main problem

Accounting for both automotive and aviation standards is almost impossible. The car must be safe for passengers and pedestrians, not interfere with the roads, and also comply with environmental regulations. The aircraft must take into account weight categories, flight qualities and everything else that is necessary to obtain a license.

Manufacturers see the need to recognize flying cars as a special class of transport, which is quite justified. Oddly enough, officials in Europe and the US are going to meet manufacturers, providing them with the necessary permits.

However, if things go on as usual, significant changes will need to be made to transport infrastructure, the creation of the "Rules of Air Traffic", it will be necessary to monitor compliance with these rules ... In general, we buy flying cars, put them in the garage and wait until we are allowed to use them.

Craftsmen do not lag behind progress

The trouble is that the cost of the first flying cars amounts to tens of thousands of dollars, which is clearly beyond the reach of the average consumer. In this regard, no one will do favors to anyone ...

Greetings to fans of the wonderful film "Back to the Future". This homemade product is just for you, and to be more precise, for your children. In this instruction, I will tell you how to create what we dreamed of as children as children - about our car. And it will not just be a car, it will be a real flying DeLorean! Your child will be delighted with such a homemade product.

If you wish, you can modify the kart by equipping it with an engine, the easiest way to do this is with a screwdriver. Specifically, this instruction is a kind of scooter, that is, you can only ride from a hill, well, or if someone will drag it. It's sad, but fixable!

Almost all homemade products are made of wood, the frame is made of timber. Also here you will need plywood, boards and other materials that can be easily found. As for the wheels and other details, then you will need old scooters, wheels from children's bicycles or strollers, and more. The car is assembled quite easily, the child will cope with this task, it will be especially interesting and useful to assemble such a car together. For passers-by, homemade will cause a lot of delight. So, let's start manufacturing.

Materials and tools used

List of materials:
- wooden beam;
- boards;
- fastening corners;
- wheels from children's bicycles or similar;
- two old scooters;
- wheels from trolleys, skateboards or the like;
- aluminum corner;
- door hinges (stronger);
- bicycle cables;
- bolts, nuts, washers, screws, etc.

List of tools:
- ;
- drill;
- ;
- spanners;
- screwdrivers.

Optionally, we use paint, LEDs, etc. to detail the car.

Vehicle manufacturing process:

Step one. How is everything arranged?
The principle of operation is very simple. The main wheels are attached to the frame through hinges, as a result, when the frame is raised up, the wheels fold automatically. You can return them to their original position using cables that are connected to each wheel. When the car "flies", it actually continues to ride on hidden wheels. Here the author needed wheels from a skateboard. And up the body is lifted by human power thanks to several levers.

Step two. Assembling the frame
The frame is very simple, it is made of timber. Cut the desired blanks, and then assemble the frame using self-tapping screws. As well as steel corners. Do not spare self-tapping screws, the frame must be strong, the safety of the child will depend on this!

Step three. Installing the wheels
To install the wheels, you will need 4 strong door hinges. We fasten them to the frame with good screws, and then we fasten the wheels to the hinges. As a result, when the frame is raised, they should fold horizontally.

As for the front wheels, they must turn. Here you will need metal brackets or something similar. What is at stake, look at the photo. At this step, we get a frame with wheels.

Step four. Fitting the front countersunk wheel
For this step we need steering part from a scooter. We fasten it with a bolt and nut, as the author in the photo. As a result, we get a finished steering wheel, which will allow you to control the car when it “soars”. To raise the frame and “fly up”, the steering wheel will need to be pushed forward from you.

Step five. Steering installation
You will need a map to steer the main front wheels steering from another scooter. Remove the wheel from it and cut off one part of the fork. We attach the steering to the frame using metal mounting brackets.

After that, you can install the steering arm. Here you will need an aluminum corner or something similar. Attach the lever to knuckles”, and in the center with a bolt and nut we connect it to the steering shaft. Make sure the steering works and nothing is stuck anywhere.

Step six. Installing the rear wheels
For the manufacture of the rear thrust wheels, you will need two steel square pipes, as well as two wheels from the trolley or something suitable. To install the levers, we fasten the corners to the frame, and then we fasten the levers to the corners with the help of bolts. Now we attach handles to the installed levers like the author’s. As a result, when you take hold of the handles with your hands and push down, rear end the frame will rise.

Step seven. Installation of cables
To return the wheels to their original position and “land”, we connect cables from the bicycle to each wheel. How exactly to hold them along the frame can be seen in the photo. We connect the cables from the rear and front wheels in pairs and install them on the end of the ring so that it is convenient to take them with your hands. The author fixes the cable loops with screw clamps.

Step eight. Final assembly homemade
At the end, we fix the remaining parts and proceed to painting. After that, you can install various electronics on the car, these can be various headlights, lights, an impromptu "flux capacitor" and so on, to make the car as realistic as possible. And if you really try, you can install a battery on a car and make the drive from the engine directly to the wheel.

That's all, I hope you liked the project. Good luck and inspiration when making homemade products!

The car has long been an indispensable companion for every person. Many not only cannot imagine life without a vehicle, but also own several cars at once. Passion for cars does not fade at all, despite all the difficulties of moving on own car in megacities - endless traffic jams, rising fuel prices and impressive costs for the repair and maintenance of the vehicle.

One of the ways to solve the current situation, the inventors see the creation of a flying machine that will be able to move not only on public roads, but also by air. Despite some futurism of such an idea, as well as possible difficulties control over the airspace of the city, where a lot of flying cars move, it has the right to exist and continues to be actively developed.

Designers do not get tired of introducing more and more new ideas in the field of developing flying cars, and the concept cars that appear due to this, according to most, are getting closer to the moment when such cars will be mass-produced. Some of the examples of flying cars are already able to drive and fly. In addition, it is now quite possible to buy such a car for personal use.

Flying car - myth or reality

The ability to travel around any country in your flying car and refuel at conventional gas stations is no longer a fantasy or a crazy fantasy of writers. Terrafugia, based in America and receiving funding from the Department of Defense, is already producing the Terrafugia Transition flying car, which can be purchased with complete peace of mind for personal use. This is a fully functional two-seater that can transform into an airplane by simply folding its wings. This takes less than a minute.

This flying machine "sees" the sky for the first time back in 2009, making its first test flight. In 2013, the number of flights was already 13, including with a passenger. It is worth mentioning right away that it became possible to buy this car only recently, since during the testing process some defects were found, and it took some time to eliminate them. The characteristics of a machine that flies itself are as follows:

  • body length 6 meters;
  • width 2 meters with folded wings, and 8.08 with unfolded;
  • height about 2 meters;
  • weight 440 kg.

This flying car is able to fly at speeds up to 185 km/h, which is quite comparable to the speed of a standard sports aircraft. At the same time, the cost of a car cannot be compared with the price of an aircraft, and it is much cheaper to operate it. Fuel consumption, which is standard gasoline, averages 18.9 l / h at a speed of 160 km / h. Indicators for such a technique are quite acceptable. To take off, this car will need about 500 meters of a flat runway, and it can stay in the air for up to 4 hours at an altitude of up to 1.5 kilometers.

The flying cars of the future have already been created

Not every time a company announces the creation of a new flying car, the public's expectations are justified. For the entire modern history only a few concepts deserve closer attention.

Technology doesn't stand still

A rather serious problem for a flying car is the issue of control in the air. Naturally, there are no special training courses, and the control process on the ground and in the air is fundamentally different. To facilitate the task of "pilot-drivers", engineers are developing various systems responsible for stabilizing such a vehicle in the air.

One of similar systems, first implemented in the flying car Moller Skycar, was an artificial stabilization system that greatly facilitates the control of the vehicle when it is in the air. It summarizes the data on the current speed, the position of the car and its acceleration, transmitting "recommendations" to the engine, as a result of which the stable position of the "car" in the air is maintained. No human involvement is required in this process, and all data is updated and analyzed every few milliseconds.

For a flying car, the engine is of great importance. With its small mass, it should have impressive power. Designer Moller, one of the creators of the aforementioned car, has developed and put into practice his new rotary piston engine being reasonably quiet, powerful, safe and clean. In addition, the fuel that "feeds" this engine - ethanol, is safer than traditional gasoline in terms of the risk of explosion or fire if leaked.

flying hybrid

After the creation and successful testing of the first prototype of a flying car Terrafugia Transition, the company's engineers did not calm down. They were haunted by the idea that their “brainchild” required an impressive runway for acceleration and landing, which significantly limited the use of such vehicles in the city. As a result of the painstaking work of engineers, the public was presented with a hybrid semi-autonomous car that can take to the air and does not require a runway.

The model was named TF-X, and its compact dimensions allow you to drive it into any standard garage. Pleased with the spaciousness of this car - when driving on city roads, it can safely carry 4 passengers. For the ability to fly over short distances, this car uses powerful and quiet electric motors. As conceived by the designers, it should overcome about 800 km through the air without problems and recharging.

Unlike its predecessor, the TF-X has become more comfortable and faster, which entailed a certain “weighting” of the structure. Despite this, the hybrid motor system allows for takeoffs and landings without the need for a run. This aircraft, and concurrently, a car, an open area of \u200b\u200babout 30 meters in diameter is enough. It is planned to equip the TF-X with a security system that will independently bypass obstacles, cope with bad weather, and in case of loss of communication with the ground controller, it will help the “motorist” to land in an unprepared place.

Despite all efforts to create an ideal and simple flying car, to make a prototype, completely ready for serial production not yet succeeded. And this is connected not only with technical side question. It is necessary to solve the problem of teaching the skills of "piloting" such devices, allocating special areas for takeoff / landing, creating an airspace control service in which flying cars move, and much more. However, the appearance of a flying car is quite real in soon, as evidenced by next video:
