Tram is a full member traffic, along with cars, but its design features provide for the installation of special rails - tram tracks.

Tram rails can be located directly on the carriageway, delimiting lanes of oncoming traffic, or adjacent to the road or separated from the roadway by lawns and sidewalks.

For intersections with tracks for the movement of the tram, the main rules for such an action remain. But there are some minor differences. If there are tram tracks in the middle of the road along which the car is approaching the intersection, moreover, at the same height as the carriageway, then in certain cases the driver has the right to drive into the tracks, and in some cases he has to drive into them. In such a situation, it is necessary to analyze paragraphs 8.5 and 9.6 of the SDA.

Paragraph 8.5 states that before turning to the right or left side or turn around, the driver must advance to the appropriate extreme position on the road, calculated for movement in a given direction. Situations are excluded when a turn is performed at the entrance to an intersection where a circular movement is specified. The presence on the left side of the tram tracks of the accompanying direction, located at the same height as the road, allows you to turn to the left side and turn around from them, if signs 5.15.1 and 5.15.2 or marking 1.18 do not require a different mode of movement. At the same time, trams should not be obstructed.

Paragraph 9.6 allows movement on tram tracks of the adjacent direction, located on the left side at the same level with the carriageway, when all lanes are loaded given direction, as well as when trying to go around an obstacle or turn around, overtake, turn to the left, taking into account clause 8.5 of the SDA. Turn to the left side or U-turn in the presence of tram tracks.

When in the middle of the highway, at the same level with it, there are tram tracks, then you must definitely make a turn to the left and turn right from the tram tracks of the accompanying direction. In the only case, this is prohibited. This is the presence of signs 5.15.1 or 5.15.2. If at least one of these signs is present on at least one lane when approaching the intersection, then it is forbidden to enter the tram tracks of the adjacent direction. Otherwise, you will have to make a left turn or turn around from the tram tracks. If, under the conditions presented, you make a left turn not from the tram tracks, but from the left lane, then this is considered non-compliance with traffic rules.

Movement directly in the presence of tram tracks.

If there are tram tracks on the left side at the same level as the motorway, it is allowed to use them to move in a straight line. This can only be done when all other lanes are occupied. Also, signs 5.15.1 and 5.15.2 should not be present before the intersection. That is, the following conclusion can be drawn. If the driver is in a hurry and needs to pass the intersection as soon as possible, in front of which a traffic jam has formed, then he can safely use the tram tracks of the adjacent direction to his advantage. The turn to the right cannot be reproduced from the tram tracks of the adjacent direction. To implement it, you need to move to the extreme right position on the highway.

How to determine the type of intersection?

To determine whether a certain intersection is one at which the requirements for passing through an intersection with tram tracks are functioning, one simple step should be performed. It is necessary to see if the this moment to the crossroads, at least one side of the tram. There are a number of situations in which it is necessary to give way to a tram at an intersection controlled by a traffic controller. But it is impossible to talk about all of them because of the different location of the tram tracks relative to the roadway, different directions before and after crossing the intersection by a car or tram, various gestures of the traffic controller.

A universal result for crossing intersections with tram tracks controlled by a traffic controller: if at a given intersection the car's route intersects with the direction of movement of the tram, then you need to clear the way for the tram, because it has priority. 13.6. Uneven intersection with tram tracks

The passage of unregulated unequal intersections with tram tracks is described by several points at once. First, let's look at all of these points:

13.9. At the intersection of unequal roads, the driver of a vehicle moving along secondary road, must give way to vehicles approaching along the main road, regardless of the direction of their further movement.

At such intersections, the tram has an advantage over trackless ones. vehicles moving in the same or opposite direction on an equivalent road, regardless of the direction of its movement.

At such intersections, the tram has an advantage over trackless vehicles, regardless of the direction of its movement.

13.11 1 . When entering an intersection with circular traffic and which is marked with sign 4.3, the driver of the vehicle is obliged to give way to vehicles moving along such an intersection.

In this case, drivers should give way to all trams with which their trajectories intersect.
