The reverse side is right. Features of obtaining a driver's license for a box "automatic

14.03.2019

Good afternoon, dear reader.

As a rule, a person who has never driven a car, i.e. The typical driver candidate starting out at a driving school finds that shifting gears on a manual transmission is a lot of hassle and inconvenience. Novice drivers are often afraid to change gears manually.

At the same time, students of driving schools who got cars to drive are not in the best technical condition believe that the use of a manual transmission is incredibly difficult, and the order of gear changes defies any logic.

That is why, after graduating from a driving school, many drivers buy cars with automatic transmission gear shift which are becoming more and more accessible every year.

Well, today we will talk about is it possible to take the rights to the machine in 2017 and 2018. Let's get started.

Curious enough to know what scares people about a manual transmission. On a car that is in good technical condition, gear shifting should not cause any problems. It is easy to perform and brings only pleasure and joy.

And although the original automatic transmission was intended to assist the driver, who already knows how to drive a car with mechanical box, an increasing number of novice motorists strive to drive cars with automatic transmission from the very beginning. And they want to start in a driving school. And it doesn't make sense.

Although an automatic transmission is essentially a simplification of a mechanical one, driving a car with such a box also needs to be learned. As can be seen from the figure at the beginning of this article, the automatic transmission has several positions, indicated by Latin characters, which will not say anything to an unprepared person. Well, it is better to get advice on their use from an experienced and competent instructor.

It is no secret that those wishing to study at a driving school in a car with an automatic transmission until (November 5, 2013) experienced additional problem- the inability to pass the exam in the traffic police on a car with automatic transmission. However, legislators have finally managed to find the answer to the question "is it possible to pass on the rights to the machine?".

Is it possible to hand over the rights to the machine in 2017 and 2018?

So, starting from November 5, 2013, the Federal Law on Road Safety provides for the possibility of passing the exam in the traffic police on the machine:

Exams are taken on Vehicle ah with mechanical or automatic transmission.

Persons who have passed examinations on vehicles with manual transmission, the right to drive vehicles of the corresponding category or subcategory with any type of transmission is granted.

Persons who have passed the examinations on vehicles with automatic transmission are granted the right to drive vehicles of the corresponding category or subcategory with only automatic transmission.

Those. from the end of 2013 it will be possible to pass the entire exam in the traffic police in a car with an automatic transmission.

Please note that the composition of the automatic transmission exams is still (November 30, 2014) not known, so I cannot tell you about the features of passing the automatic exam. As soon as the relevant normative legal document is adopted, this article will be updated.

Rights to automatic transmission have some features. Information about the automatic transmission is entered on the plate on reverse side driving license next to the corresponding category.

I also want to emphasize that if in the future you decide to switch from a machine to a mechanic, then you will have to re-train at a driving school and re-take the exam at the traffic police. To upgrade your skills from automatic transmission to manual transmission, you need to pass only autodrome. The theory and the city will not be required to pass. However, I recommend taking the mechanics exam right away so you don't have to go back to it in the future.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared amendments to the rules for obtaining driving license. There will be no externship now - training in a driving school will become mandatory. And those who pass the exam for a car with an “automatic” will have to take an exam again in order to drive a car with a “mechanics”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared amendments to the rules for obtaining a driver's license. There will be no externship now - training in a driving school will become mandatory. New subcategories for driving a vehicle will be added, and those who pass the exam for a car with an “automatic” will have to take an exam again in order to drive a car with a “mechanics”.

The agency has already formulated its proposals and intends to include them in the law "On Road Safety". One of the main innovations is the introduction new category and subcategories for the right to drive a vehicle. So, in category "A" there should appear a sub-category "A1", which includes light motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 125 cubic centimeters and a power of 11 kW. Subcategory "C1" will allow you to drive only a car weighing no more than 7.5 tons, and subcategory "C1E" will allow you to drive cars of category "C1", but with a trailer weighing no more than 750 kg, despite the fact that the total maximum weight road trains will be no more than 12 tons. Sub-category "D1" is for driving vehicles with no more than 16 seats, and "D1E" - cars of category "D1" with cargo trailer. In the last category, the trailer requirements are the same as in the previous one.

“We propose to introduce category “M” for drivers of vehicles that are not included in the category of motorcycles (that is, for mopeds), Viktor Kiryanov, head of the Department for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, said last week, noting that agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science regarding the introduction of a new category has actually been completed, and a new letter in the rights may appear as early as this year. That is, mopeds will fall into the "M", and the so-called scooters fall under the "A1" or "M" - depending on their technical characteristics.

To obtain such a license, you must pass an exam on knowledge of the rules of the road. If the driver has any other category, he may not pass practical exam. You can drive a moped from the age of 16.

The meaning of innovations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs is justified by the need to take into account the current variety of vehicles on the roads. So far, it turns out that, according to current standards, a truck driver, for example, must be a very broad professional. And, accordingly, the holder of a category “D” driver's license can now work both on the route Gazelle and on double-decker bus international flights. But the tasks of such machines are different.

As conceived by the authors of the bill, training in subcategories should become easier and cheaper. True, after the adoption of the law it will not be possible to pass an exam for the right to drive a car externally. You will have to enroll in a driving school, and after completing the training, take your driving license in an organized manner. The traffic police believe that in this way it will be possible to improve the quality of driver training and seriously reduce the practice of "selling" rights.

The amendments do not provide for the introduction of a subcategory "B", which allows you to drive all cars. But if a student decides to learn to drive a car with an automatic transmission, then he will not receive the right to drive a vehicle with a “mechanics”. That is, the “automatic” mark will appear in the rights, and in order to transfer to the mechanics, you will have to take the rights again.

In addition, foreigners from far and near abroad will have to obtain local rights to work as a driver in Russia.

Recall that today in our country the rights of nine categories are issued. "A" - motorcycles, "B" - cars, the maximum authorized mass of which does not exceed 3500 kg, and the number of seats, with the exception of the driver, is not more than eight. "C" - trucks - vehicles with a maximum mass of more than three and a half tons. "D" - buses - that is, they have more than eight seats. There are also categories "BE", "CE", "DE". The letter "E" means that the driver of the corresponding category has been trained and can drive a machine with a trailer with a maximum mass of more than 750 kg. There are also categories "Tm" and "Tb" - tram and trolleybus.

According to Chief Editor magazine "Auto Business" Roman Gulyaev, there is logic in the amendments prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “These changes have been talked about for a long time. But they basically will not affect ordinary motorists, but belong to professionals. After all, indeed, the professionalism of drivers has fallen dramatically, and now there are a lot of drivers on the roads who are trying to drive a multi-ton truck like a Gazelle ..

For the same reason, Roman Gulyaev supported the intention to put a stamp on the right to drive exclusively cars with automatic transmission.

However, he doubted that the abolition of self-training and externship would eliminate the sale of rights. “The point is not to ban such forms of preparation and passing the exam, but to make the requirements for driver training strict, since now many drivers are poorly prepared even for driving in normal mode and absolutely cannot do anything in a critical traffic situation. But this in itself will not cancel the cases when the rights are issued in bundles for an appropriate remuneration, ”the expert said.

The widespread use of automatic transmissions (AT) in vehicles has significantly changed our life and its rules. Machines of this type are usually more economical and require fewer simultaneous actions to operate, which makes the driver's job easier. However, the transition from one type of transmission to another can cause serious difficulties. Rumors about the division of driver's licenses into "mechanical" and "automatic" have long been in the air. Let's find out how a driver's license for an automatic transmission differs from traditional ones.

According to the Rules of the Road, a person driving a power-driven vehicle (TC) must have a state certificate that allows such activities. The State Inspectorate for Road Safety (GIBDD) issues driver's licenses for all types of vehicles - cars, trucks, passengers; the exception is specialized equipment administered by Gostekhnadzor, although the procedure for obtaining a driver's license in both organizations is identical. A person must confirm physical fitness to drive, undergo training and pass exams, consisting of theoretical and practical parts.

It is during the delivery of the practical part that the question arises of whether a person can drive a car on the “mechanics” if a car with an “automatic” was used in the exam. Previously, the problem was solved simply: everyone passed the exam on a vehicle with a manual transmission (manual transmission) and after obtaining the right to drive, the type of transmission of the car did not limit its happy owner in any way.

Now the situation has changed: those who pass the exam can choose the equipment of the car (automatic transmission or manual transmission). This, in turn, required certain indications in the certificate of what kind of vehicle their owner can drive.

Do I need a separate license to drive a car with automatic transmission

Let's make a reservation right away that there are no separate driver's licenses, except for certificates for driving special equipment. Everyone is required to have documents established sample, and the automatic transmission itself does not change the driver's license, but there are still differences.

In 2013, the Federal Law “On Road Safety” No. 196-FZ dated December 10, 1995 was amended to bring it into line with the Vienna Convention on road traffic. They, in turn, gave rise to changes in the main document of the driver and rumors that the categories of rights to "automatic" and "mechanics" will now be different.

Fortunately, these rumors were not confirmed: this did not affect the drivers of vehicles with automatic transmission, although the number of categories increased markedly.

However, a certificate issued to a person who took an exam in an automatic transmission car can still be distinguished.

Let's find out how "automatic" is marked in the driver's license. True, we will have to take a closer look at its appearance.

Most of the reverse side of the document is occupied by a table, in the left column of which all categories of vehicles are reflected. Against open categories appropriate marks are placed. All certificate points are numbered, but in this situation we are interested in points 12 (point 13 is missing, do not even waste time looking for it) and 14, located under the table. It is in them that one should look for indications that this driver's license is for an automatic transmission.

Here's how the marks are made: item 12 - restrictions for a particular category; paragraph 14 - general restrictions and additional information. It is here that we should look for information of interest to us.

The AT mark allows driving only with automatic transmission, the absence of marks implies the removal of any restrictions.

Thus, if such a mark is in paragraph 12, then restrictions are set for the corresponding category, if in paragraph 14, then for all permitted categories of vehicles.

Is it possible to choose a vehicle for passing the exam in the traffic police

Each driver, depending on personal preferences and capabilities, chooses “his” car; this also applies to the choice of transmission type on it. As noted earlier, on November 5, 2013, amendments to Federal Law No. 196-FZ were adopted, and a person taking a driving test can choose whether to get a driver's license for an "automatic" or "mechanical". There is such a possibility.

According to the amendments to the law No. 196-FZ, it is officially allowed to pass driver's exams using vehicles equipped with an automatic gearbox. At the same time, the certificate began to put a mark on the restrictions on the type of transmission used.

Is it allowed to drive a car with a manual transmission for those who passed the exams for automatic transmission

We have already said above: if during the exam you drove a car with an automatic gearbox, then in paragraph 12, the corresponding category will have an AT mark. Its presence in the document means that only a car equipped with an automatic transmission is allowed to be driven, and, therefore, it is forbidden to operate a car with a mechanical one.

Usually, when passing the exam on a car with a manual transmission, no marks are made in paragraphs 12 and 14. Holders of such a license can drive cars regardless of the type of transmission. Of course, this is convenient, so everyone who knows how to drive a car on the "mechanics" prefer to take the exam in the traffic police on it.
